“ , . . .”
Let’s talk about “Royal Line by Carrie Ann Ryan and Nana Malone”, first book Tattered Royals series.
This is my first book from both authors and the first thing that made me choose this one was the trope, I’m obsessed with Royals romance, add some suspense, and the forbidden princess-bodyguard, even better. They created a good story to introduce to this world, one that I can honestly say that I’m anxious to read. We’re introduced to the Waterford’s Royal family of Alden, it is composed by Roman, Breck, Wilder and the youngest, London.
London has been always treated as a baby in the family, but she is expected to do Royal obligations and to act like one. But the only thing she really wants is to work in her passion as photojournalist and do something of matter to the world. Actually she wants to be free. Things instantly changed when some ancient Alden rules is brought to light in order for her family to remain in the throne and the one most affect? Her! To protect her family she runs away until they figured it out and when she set foot in Paris she finds out that someone is targeting her to die.
The guy who first save her is security specialist, Kannon. Talk about right place, right time. Their attraction was instant but they fought their feelings all-the-time. He was afraid of losing someone he loved and didn’t think of himself as a good guy and she was tired of being patronized by everyone, including him. But she fought for Kannon either way, but there’s so much one can go! Kannon drove me insane and by the end I wasn’t fan of him. As Katy Perry would say “Cause you’re hot then you’re cold. You’re yes then you’re no. You’re in then you’re out…” you got the drill.
I loved their chemistry and steamy scenes, but by the end I didn’t even know if I wanted them to be together anymore. A good thing from this book is that Roman, Breck and Wilder books are coming and I think the female pairings are set! I love the the brothers and I’m excited for them to take their spotlight!
A vastly entertaining story written by two of my favorite authors. I couldn’t read this book fast enough. The characters were engaging and entertaining in their interactions. The story moves at a fast pace making it impossible to put down. I absolutely loved how this book plays out. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
I requested a copy of this book so I could provide an honest review.
This was a really good story, I read it in one sitting!
What an amazing first book
What an amazing first book in the Tattered Royals series from well-known royalty of authors, Nana Malone and Carrie Ann Ryan. Seriously, while I have read many of Ms Malone’s books, this is the first one that I have read involving Ms Ryan, and they have made a truly synergistic writing pair. If you love one or the other of these authors, you will definitely love reading what they have put together.
All the witty banter between characters, all the steam and all of the betrayal, as well as all of the action, is what you can expect from this book. And if growly alpha heroes who resemble Viking Gods are your bag, then fall in love with him against your better judgement, right along with Princess London, who isn’t your garden variety royal. She definitely feels disillusioned with the life that is expected of her, and looks to make her own way in life under her own steam. The trouble is, archaic laws and people trying to kill her pretty much ruin her plans.
Another treat that regulars of Ms Malone’s books will note is that Royal Line is a stand-a-lone!!! No waiting on tenterhooks to find out matters of life or death, no dreaded cliff-hangers, and no waiting for the suspense element or the eventual HEA.
What our authors have done, however, is to nicely set up an epilogue from the next heroine’s POV and it looks to be a doozy! I absolutely adored this lady’s strength and attitude, making sure that I’ll be stalking social media to ensure I don’t miss out on the second book in this series. Wow, I sincerely hope that our authors do more than two books, because there’s already another pairing that I want to see happen!! 5 Stars for Royal Line
London wants to be her own person and has no interest in royalty so when push comes to shove she flees the country with help because who wants to marry some stranger and be told she needs to pop out an heir. Unfortunately trouble follows her, but fortunately Kannon stumbles upon her and he is just the man to help work out who after her… oh and the fact there are sizzling sparks is a fantastic bonus! This book has it all, royalty, archaic laws, bad guys, good guys, hot looking guys, strong females and a good mix of danger and suspense so all of the and scorching attraction between two people who need to work through their issues to see how amazing they could be together!!
Can I give this Stars???!!! This book was an incredible enemies to lovers romance with a gruff male hero who only shows his softer side to few and a heroine who is definitely a strong independent woman! They are a match made in heaven. This book has all the feels and plenty of unexpected plot twists and turns.
The first book in the standalone Tattered Royals series and outing by this duo was a quick suspenful hot read and very enjoyable! London may be a princess but all she wants it her freedom (which being 4th in line should have almost but guaranteed it) which is threatened by an old law that she needs to be married and have child by 30 (she’s 29) to protect her family’s line on the throne. Her protective brothers send her away while they try to find a way to overthrow it. London and Kannon meet by chance when someone runs her off the road and tries to kill her. Kannon just so happens to run a security business and can’t help but want to protect this woman. They have an instant attraction to each other and I loved the chemistry between them. There’s lots of back and forth, Kannon has his demons and this causes him to be hot/cold towards her. Can he overcome them while they try to find out who is trying to harm her. Can she get the freedom and career she dreams of and get Kannon to let her in and not ruin their chance for a HEA together. I’m sure you can guess the answer lol but it’s the road to get there that’s the fun part and it’s definitely worth taking. Can’t wait for the next book!
What an awesome story this was, exceptionally written by Nana Malone and Carrie Ann Ryan.
Once I started reading this book I just couldn’t put it down. It was an action packed, suspenseful and full of intrigue. If this is the type of story that you’re looking for then I truly recommend that you read this book.
London is the only sister of 3 very over protective brothers and she also happens to be the Princess of the Alden family. Kannon is the owner of his own security business. London is a photographer and she’s been sent away from the family compound in order to protect her from a new royal rule. She meets Kannon after a car accident and from this point on you could just feel the chemistry between these two. The story of London and Kannon takes the reader on such an enjoyable adventure, all the twists and turns just keeps pulling you into the story that you just can’t help but love these two together and you can’t wait for them to find their happily ever after.
Once again Nana and Carrie job well done and I can’t wait for the next book.
Carrie Ann Ryan and Nana Malone have been around a while. They’re excellent writers of the romance genre. With this work they step up their game and add a whole lot of suspense and intrigue to the mix.
London is a princess of her country with dreams that have nothing to do with wearing a tiara. She’s been forced to run from her country because of an archaic law she wants no part of. Her brothers are trying to find a way around it.
Kannon is a security expert who happens upon London after a car accident. He finds a woman in trouble and helps her out. From that moment on their lives will never be the same. Because someone is out to kill London.
London and Kannon are interesting and flawed characters that make them really lovable. They are facing their pasts and truths that hurt … a lot. But there’s also an instant connection between the pair that will steam up your glasses or kindle screen.
I’ve been reading Carrie Ann for over a decade and Nana for several years as well. The reason for that is showcased in this collaborative work … their world building is top notch, their character development is outstanding, and in this case the suspense the infused in this romance is absolutely nail biting. Of course there’s plenty of steamy grown up time to top of all the other great parts of this book.
I’m eagerly looking forward to the rest of this series and seeing what happens to London’s brothers. And because no royal court in the history of ever has been without royal intrigue … well it’s bound to be an amazing series. Just like the amazing kick off.
I really enjoyed this collaboration. The storyline is good and the characters have depth. I look forward to reading more from these two talented women. (4.5)
Princess London and Kanin
She just wants to take pictures and stay out of the spotlight. He is tired of guarding people who are stuck on themselves. She has people trying to kill her. He is determined to keep her safe. They make a great pair, super fun and sexy. I always love a book about royals. Can’t wait for the rest of the series.
Ack! Carrie Ann and Nana teamed up and wrote a royals series?
Yep. It’s a dream team team writing about a princess and her security detail. London and Kannon have all the sparks, the drama and action and of course, the steam in this new series.
Bring on the Waterfords.
Recommend.
This is a great start to a new series. I have always enjoyed books by both authors their combined efforts was fantastic. The characters are ones that you are rooting for. I look forward to the rest of the series. I did receive an arc from the author for an honest review
This was filled with excitement and danger, with a Princess on the run while bad guys chased after her, and the head of a security company coming to her rescue. Not to mention a lot of chemistry between the two. When they’re not fighting each other (and how they’re feeling), they’re trying to figure out who’s out to get Princess London. And Kannon won’t give up until him & his team figures it out. And wait until you see that bit of a twist. It’ll definitely spin your head. Can’t wait for the next one!
When I heard about this book/series last year, I knew it was going on my TBR. Two authors and a Royal series? Count me in!
Royal Line is the first book of the Tattered Royals series and it’s told in dual POV. London, the Princess and Kannon, the bodyguard. With an age old tradition coming in to play and possibly ruining the current Royal family, London is set to go into hiding until her brothers figure out what to do next or to change old laws that are so archaic.
But London encounters danger as soon as she attempts to escape and there is immediate involvement of Kannon and his crew. Just being there at the wrong place at the right time and banter and chemistry fly right off these two from the get go. It’s a fast paced and full throttle ahead sort of story.
London and Kannon had a good balance between one another. Obvious chemistry, fun and sexy banter and danger that was putting them at risk. They didn’t let that bother their attraction to one another though. While I liked these two, I didn’t feel too connected to them. Maybe it was the way it just was full speed ahead with the story, or maybe it was the danger surrounding them. I just wanted more to their backstories to feel their current predicament. But with that said, I liked the brothers and Kannon’s crew and am intrigued enough to keep reading more in this world. With the little taste of what we got for what’s coming next, I’m already adding that one to my TBR too. 3.5 stars
I love a great bodyguard romance and this one was even better because they didn’t start out as employer and employee. I also loved how London wasn’t the typical princess and didn’t want to have the crown though she was dedicated to her family. Though she did want a life for herself away from the royal family. This whole story came about because she was going to be forced to have a child just to secure the throne for her family and she was not going to do that. So when someone tries to kill her and she is saved by Kannon her brothers hire him and his team to protect her until they can figure it all out. The back and forth between Kannon and London is just so great but they did have the typical not good enough for each other going on. This was interesting because the brothers had to get involved to get Kannon to admit what he needed. And nobody wants their big brothers involved. Overall, great start to a new series!
*I received an ARC for an honest review*
Royal Line is a promising starter for the Tattered Royals series. Overall, this story kept me on my toes as I was not sure if this couple would decide to start something, or just be civil. There was some push and pull, but at the end I was smiling like a loon.
Royal Line is a good royal romance. There was some hot chemistry and some parts had you just glued to the pages. This story is a great short read and has us wanting the next book for this series.
I love Nana Malone and I love Carrie Ann Ryan, so it was a no brainer to read a book written by the 2 authors.
London is the 4th child (the only girl) in the royal family. Her parents died when she was younger and she was basically looked after by her brothers and a doting Aunt, who she adored. On her 29th birthday, she finds out that she has 1 year to produce an heir otherwise, her brother (the King), will lose the throne and it will go to a different branch in her family. She doesn’t want to be a part of this, so she leaves the country while her brothers try and figure out a way around this archaic rule.
As soon as she lands in her new place, she’s run off the road and left in a ditch. Enter Kannon. He owns a security company and happens to find London in the ditch. He rescues her and before he knows it, they’re getting shot at. This is just the beginning of this wild adventure that Kannon and London are on. They both have pasts to overcome and bam! I didn’t see the disloyalty coming. What a great beginning to what I’m sure will be a wonderful series!
Carrie Ann Ryan & Nana Malone kick off their new Tattered Royals series with this tale of Princess London Waterford of Alden & her reluctant bodyguard.
London is the youngest of four royals. She longs to be free of duty and obligations and would love to find her way with camera instead of a tiara. But an obscure law has come to light. It would force her to marry and bear an heir compelling her brothers to hide her while they deal with such an archaic decree. However, she’s met with danger on her way to a friend’s safe house.
Security expert Kannon Adams was finishing an assignment when he came across a princess in distress who not only brings out his protective alpha tendencies, but also tempts him to open his heart to more than a handful of nights together. But is he brave enough to let himself be happy?
I’ve always like enemies to lovers romance where the animosity and tension serves to heighten the connection between the protagonists and Royal Line certainly has that. I would dare to say it has it bit too much, as Kannon and London run hot and cold and the push each other apart as much a pull towards one another.
Their story, although foreseeable, is lighthearted with a dash a suspense. It’s fast paced and flew by with its action, banter and steam. I’m curious about London’s brothers, especially Roman, the oldest and King of Alden and can’t wait to read more.
On the day of her 29th birthday, London discovers either she or her brothers need to produce an heir within the next 12 months or they lose the throne. While her brothers try to find a diplomatic solution, they smuggle London out of the country to what they think will be a safe place for her to lay low. Unfortunately, someone is trying their best to make sure London isn’t able to produce an heir.
Kannon has no idea what he is getting into when he stops at an accident on the side of the road, but saving a runaway Princess was not what he expected . . . especially when bullets start flying!
Brought together by fate, their attraction flares as Kannon and his security team work to keep London safe from an unknown enemy. But is attraction enough for this could be couple from completely opposite worlds or will Kannon’s baggage and London’s royal duties end their fling before it has a chance to become more?
I adored London. She may be royal, but she is totally down to earth and even struggling with finding her way and being her own person. She knows her family loves her but lacks a real connection in her relationships. Being a photo journalist is the one thing that is hers and even then she feels she has to live up to her dead mother.
Kannon has major baggage too. Baggage so heavy he is sure to never let anyone close to him for fear they will get hurt on his watch. It is a heavy emotional burden and I loved watching London try to push through the barriers he keeps around himself.
This was a fantastic romance with great action and suspense. The plot moves quickly, but doesn’t feel rushed. It was just intense and very emotionally charged. I am really excited for the rest of the series as we had glimpses of London’s brothers and of Kannon’s teammates and I feel like it is going to be a wild ride for readers! A truly fabulous collaboration!!!!! 4.5 Stars.
