Absolutely loved this book Dylan and Jase’s story was amazing and I couldn’t read it fast enough.
Packed with drama, and emotion this story will have give you the feels, a few laughs and by the end you will not want to leave the world of Royal Hearts Acedemy.
This is something a little different from Ashley, but she has an Amazing talent to give you something new with a story that shines and characters that you become obsessed with.
I am a huge fan of Bully Stories and a huge fan of Ashley Jade so my hopes were very high for book and I was blown away by this story. No matter if you are a long time fan or new to this author this is a book that you Need to read!
Wow, just wow!!! Cruel Prince by Ashley Jade is everything I was expecting it to be…..A-MAZ-ING!!
Cruel Prince is book 1 in the Royal Hearts Academy (standalone) series. It’s Jace Covington and Dylan Taylor’s story and it is one heck of an emotional rollercoaster ride and oh so perfectly written. While Jace takes care of the people he loves and cares about, he is a bully to everyone else. Especially to Dylan, his former best friend. It’s been 4 years since they have seen or talked to each other and they both have so much pain and anger buried inside themselves, my heart broke for them. I cried happy tears for them, no two characters have deserved a HEA like these two. This book is definitely a top read of the year and I highly recommend it.
This book touches on many topics that are on the rise today. It was so real to life and I couldn’t put it down. It’s a must read!!
Wow! This book is so amazing! This is the first book in the Royal Hearts Academy series. This is Jace and Dylan’s book. This book isn’t for the faint of heart. It has bullies, cheating, and a suicide. It will tear you a part and have you in so many tears. But it will also put you back together in the end, somewhat. This is another amazing book by this author. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK! I can’t wait for the next book in this series which will be Cole’s book.
Why do authors have to make it so hard to review their books. I mean this is the best way possible. What this author did with this book really blew me away. I went in thinking it was going to be a highschool drama read and was blown away with every ounce of emotion the author pulled out of me. Jace and Dylan were unlike any character I’ve read in a while. They brought out every feeling from me. I laughed and I balled like a little baby. I’ll be the first to admit that this story took turns I never saw coming and I never wanted it to end. Yes Jace was a huge jerk, but I still loved him because the author gave my that connection to him. I won’t give spoiler but this story was beautiful, heartbreaking and amazingly written. Bring on the next book….. oh maybe wait for my heart to mend a little bit first. But I will devour it when it comes. 5 stars #2OCCJD
Wowza!!! Cruel Prince by Ashley Jade is a must read! I could not put my kindle down, the book is full angst, suspense, love, hate, and topics that are hard to talk about and is good to have more knowledge about. You will need your box of tissues when you read Cruel Prince.
Ashley sure knows how to get me out of my book funk, I don’t know what I an going to do now that I am done with Cruel Prince.
Jace and Dylan were childhood best friends, their relationship grows to love but something unforeseen separates them. Dylan learns the true meaning of family is not always blood related. While Jace is having to take care of his siblings, he is misled by a classmate and this keeps Dylan and Jace apart for all the wrong reasons.
**Cruel Prince does talk about depression, bullying, and suicide It gives you a small perspective of the inner battles others do face when they lose a loved one to suicide. Some situations/language in this book are explicit and is more for adults than teens/young adults.**
Wow. Cruel Prince was Phenomenal! Jade completely obliterated my emotions with a bulldozer! I’m feeling this book so hard! I was up till early morning reading and I can’t tell If my eyes are red from being up all night or from crying my heart out! Let me say * This book is a Stand-alone* it is a complete story. I’m dying for other characters books and I know they will be just as amazing as Dylan and Jace’s! Once I started I just couldn’t stop! It’s addictive and bloodthirsty! The teens at RHA put the B in Brutal! I was so unprepared for the impact this book has! I loved the characters! Dylan was not about to get pushed around, she was fierce and loyal. Jace was his family’s protector, he was a grade a d*ck and he made is his mission to destroy Dylan. Oakley quickly stole my heart! Cole and Sawyer gave me the tingles! Aunt Crystal slightly disappointed me but I’m hoping there is more going on there because I’m ready to lay her out! Liam destroyed me and implanted himself so deeply in my skin! I will never see a butterfly and not think of him. Brutal, Betrayal, Beautiful and Bittersweet are some words that definitely come together as I sit here still trying to recover from the beating my heart and emotions just took reading this. I couldn’t love it more! Easily makes my top ten of 2019 books! I can’t wait to see what RHA has In store for us next! I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.
Boy did I hate loving Jace.
This book was amazing!!! I was hooked from the very start. Dylan is back in Royal Manor, the life and friends she left behind aren’t who she knows now. Jace was Dylan’s best friend before she moved away, but things have changed and the only thing Jace feels for Dylan is hatred.
Boy, Jace was something else, he was so mean and determine to make Dylan leave town. What he wasn’t planning on was Dylan fighting back. I loved Dylan, she was so strong and she NEVER gave up. I loved how she didn’t leave anything nor anyone tear her down, she was her own person and I loved her.
I loved this book, the only thing I wish for was for Dylan to had made Jace fight a little bit harder for her forgiveness. But the beginning, middle, and ending were amazing. This is a MUST READ!!
Jace Covington is the guy you want to hate, but you just know he has a reason for his actions. You KNOW it.
Yet, you still hate him.
You hate him so much you love him.
It’s a fine line, that space between love and hate.
But when you’ve loved the same person since you were a child, it’s really hard to let all that go.
No matter the reasons.
No matter how good the reasons.
You still love them.
You still want them.
They still complete you.
I’m rambling, aren’t I?
Dylan is the heroine you’ll love. You’ll enjoy her attitude, her ferocity, her devotion. But you’ll also love her independence, her need to be true to herself, and her loyalty.
Surrounded by a group of characters too crazy and too amazing to put into words, you’ll find yourself wishing you attended Royal Hearts just so you could see how the other half live. And so you can see these characters grow and learn and fall in love.
Just when I think Ashley Jade can’t surprise me, she does it again. And again. And again.
Grab this book.
Cruel Prince is the standalone you’ve been craving from Ashley.
It’s the beginning.
It’s the end.
It’s everything in between.
Holy Shiznit… this book! Devoured it!!
Truly unique Bully Standalone! This book left me speechless and I had to really digest what I read. I was totally in my feelings, in awe, heartbroken, angry, 1000% in love. I’m still nursing a serious case of love-hate for this author. It is epically tragic and profoundly poetic, filled with fiery passion and emotions so intense they jump right off the page. You will laugh and you will ugly cry! It is filled with characters you will love to hate and hate to love, and ones you will hate and then love. It will grab you from page one and not let go. All your questions will be answered, the story comes full circle with a perfect ending. This is another one of those books that will stay with you long after the final page.
If I had to give one minor critique I would say in a few places the vocabulary was a little too much and didn’t seem to fit the character. Even I had to break out the dictionary.
note: It deals with serious subject matter.
Ashley Jade
Let me just say I haven’t read a NA book in forever. Not because I don’t like them but because I’ve read some in the past and they were my top favorites and nothing was really comparing. Then this book dropped in my hands and lord help me because I yelled at my kindle so many times. But, I also cried, I laughed, and I fell in love with the characters.
Ashley Jade such a beautiful job of creating a world where not only can you picture the whole thing in your head but feel the atmosphere of what’s happening. She not only introduced a set of characters that will play in there own story for you to love later but she made you love them all now and grow attached to them right away. *This is a standalone in a series. So the supporting characters will be getting their own books*
I’m not gonna go and tell you the story in the review you just need to read it trust me. You’ll go through such a range of emotions from wanting to punch the main characters to feeling heartbroken with them. And holy shit there was some fucking twists that left my jaw dropped.
So if you want something with shit ton of angst, characters you’ll love to hate, a world you can loose yourself in you need to start this series. Ashley Jade thank you for taking me back to high school and also FU for making me cry….again.
5 LOVE JACE STARS!! OMG….This is one of the best bully romance I have ever read!! Jace and Dylan’s story touched, squeezed and ripped my heart out, but so worth it to learn their relationship. Their story will speak to you and engrave their names on your heart. I could not put this book down and I need more. Ashley Jade has given me the drug of Royal Hearts Academy and I NEED MORE. You definitely need this book in your life so go ahead and download it now.
Ashley Jade sure know how to rip you apart with each and every word that she writes, this is by far the best book she has every written!!
Oh man. Ashley Jade sure as hell knows how to write an incredible story.
I have had my eye on Cruel Prince ever since the moment I found out that it was in the works, and it was so much more than I ever could’ve imagined. Ashley has exceeded any and all expectations, and this book will be one that I need in paperback form as well, because I need this amazing story on my shelf, to be reread over and over again!
Cruel Prince focuses on two characters. Specifically, Dylan & Jace. These two have known and had been best friends from 5th grade, when Jace was the new kid in town. The relationship between Dylan and Jace quickly changes, and Dylan doesn’t hold back in letting Jace know her feelings for him, once she came to the realization as to what they were.
At the end of 8th grade, Dylan is uprooted and moved to a new city 5 hours away from Jace and the family that she had come to love more than her own. &Jace finds himself despising her, for reasons that I will not give away.
When Dylan finds herself back in town living with her Aunt Crystal, Uncle, and cousin of the same age, named Oakley, (Oakley slowly, but surely becomes one of my most favorite side characters in this book. I love him, and that’s that!)after some serious family issues force her to need a home with the only extended family she has left.
Little does Dylan know that over the years, Jace’s anger and disgust has grown tenfold, and she is blindsided when he bullies and terrorizes her the moment he realizes she is back and attending the same school as him.
Dylan has no idea what she has done to deserve his hatred, and she can’t help that she still carries those same feelings that she had when she left. But, she also isn’t one to lay down and take it, and Jace and his family weren’t as ready for her strength and stubborn attitude as they originally thought they would be.
The twists and turns are coming ladies(&some gentleman), and they are gonna cause ALLLLL the feels.
But, every feeling you experience while you lose yourself in these pages, are all 1,000% worth it.
I tried to savor this story as slowly and thoroughly as I could, but, I just couldn’t put it down, and finished it in about a day and a half.
If I could, I would give it more than 5 stars, because it was just that amazing of a story.
OH& before I forget….the steam in this story is going to light the pages of your kindle on fire. Along with the ANGST. ALLLLLLL the angst!
I loved this book so much, and I will forever recommend it to as many people as I can.
So, if you haven’t started reading yet, DO IT. Start as soon as you possibly can. You will NOT regret it, not in the least!
Congratulations to Ashley Jade for her new release, and thank you for bringing such an incredible story to the table.
It has left a mark on my heart that will never fade!

Ooooweee…
This baby is a whirlwind of…feels, angst, drama…hell. Everything. These characters, the things that they have gone through ~ willingly and unwillingly ~ they were addicting and I couldn’t put the book down (even when I was supposed to, gotta love that #workthing.)
Jace and Dylan. These two killed me, in the best of ways, but still. Jace is an asshat, even if he comes by it honestly, he is an asshat, but he’s also so loyal and so protective it was hard to not feel for the guy and end up liking him. Dylan is fierce. This girl is real. She’s determined, kind, sassy and vulnerable. She’s all over the place with what she wants, or at least thinks she wants, but she definitely knows her heart and doesn’t apologize for it.
As for their relationship. Their very rocky, convoluted, painful and yet, strangely sweet, perfectly imperfect relationship. They both had me wanting to pull my hair out, and Jace had me wanting to Gibbs smack him many, many times, but it was hard not to become invested in all that Jace and Dylan were going through. I NEEDED to see them find their way back to each other because they fit. They had that thing and, to be honest, I needed to see Dylan win their battle.
This is my first read by Ashley Jade and I was hooked from the first page, which was brutal to be honest, but it hooked me nonetheless. The writing was engaging (obviously) the pacing good and I enjoyed the dual 1st person POV, being in their heads was chaotic, but enlightening. And then there are the secondary cast of characters. There were many I wanted to gut with a spoon, many, but I ADORED Sawyer. Adored. This girl is everything, especially when she comments on communication. Oakley, I wanted to hug and Gibbs smack on numerous occasions, but I couldn’t help but love the guy. And then there are Cole and Bianca. These two are gonna be a whole lot of chaotic gloriousness when their stories are finally told and I cannot wait to get my hands on them.
Note: There are a ton of triggers in this baby and situations that some may not be comfortable with, so reader be ware.

Phenomenal!!! Outstanding and Amazing!! Emotional ride!! When she mentioned this book would give us feels, she wasn’t kidding. This book was another level of emotions. I laughed in some parts, I cried in others so bad. But in the end, it was everything we needed.
The story of Jace and Dylan is far more than what I expected. The love these two had for one an another, was different than any other love. But there was one problem, Jace loved her but he wasn’t the only one. They both have history and a very familiar tragic history that brought them together.
Ofc you have Oakley and Cole and Bianca, the feisty one, lol.. then we can’t forget my girl Sawyer who was always bullied til she met Dylan and it was two peas in a pod after that. Sawyer is a girl who you would love to have in your corner or a phone call away.. .. I loved her lmao…
Check out Cruel Prince and I promise Ashley Jade will mess with your emotions!!!
*STANDALONE BOOK, COLES BOOK IS NEXT*
5 Cranky Stars
We have reviewed Ashley Jade in the past, but this is this particular Cranky girl first time reading her and I am hooked. You can tell how much heart and soul Ms. Jade bleeds into her stories. I mean I was hooked from the jump and I couldn’t put this book down. It’s been a hot minute since I can say I was so enraptured by a book that I wanted to put life on hold to find out why Jace was so angry and hateful toward Dylan. I wasn’t disappointed, and I went through a crap ton of emotions reading Cruel Prince.
Jace Covington is a mick with a capital D (hey I must get inventive or the Amazon gods will smite me). At one point in his life he had it all then his mother died, and things got rough in the Covington household. An absentee father who focused on his work more than his grieving children Jace was happy when Dylan Taylor entered his life. They were the best of friends then life happened, and more tragedy struck. Hearts were broken and the duo went their own ways. Dylan is back in town and hoping to reunite with her long-lost best friend sadly it’s not the reunion she hoped for. She has also suffered loss and is trying to piece her life back together. Jace makes her life a living nightmare and she tries so hard to put it past her, but Dylan is a girl who wants answers and she will get them. She is living with her aunt and uncle and slowly comes to befriend her step cousin Oakley who happens to be best friends with Jace. Along with her new friend Sawyer she makes a life for herself at Royal Hearts Academy even with Jace trashing her at every turn.
Sweet puppies in heaven!! I hated Jace so hard like I didn’t care that maybe it was a mistake I hated him till I got to those last few chapters then he redeemed himself in a way. I mean he was the prince of Royal Hearts but that still didn’t give him the right. Also, that trashy girl he dated…..eww. I was afraid I might catch something from her just reading about her. Also, Tommy got what was coming to him I’m sorry to say. He needed to catch more than a butt kicking for his mess. My heart broke for the Covington siblings. This book was so worth the wait and I’m so ready for the next one! This may have been a genre we all read before boy meets girl, they become best friends turn to enemies all over a misunderstanding only to find love again oh and some very naughty times but Ashley Jade gave it her own spin. I’m so ready for the next book I’ll be impatiently waiting.
*****This book is complete standalone*****
This book is phenomenal! When you start this book you don’t want to put it down. Cruel Prince has a lot of emotions and angst in it. Ashley Jade wrote a great book that had me wanting more. You definitely don’t see what comes and when you think you do, you don’t! She said we would be surprised and we were.
Cruel Prince is the first book of RHA with Jace and Dylan. I couldn’t help not loving them but also wanting to slap Jace. Not saying anymore bc I’m not giving spoilers so you gotta read it if you wanna know. But anyways, I love Jace and Dylan’s story!
This book had me laughing as well as feeling my own heart break. You feel everything these characters feel. I can’t wait to see what Ashley has in store for her next book bc I know it is gonna be as good as this one!
There’s certain things I love in the books I read. I love a slow burn, i love a book that has me questioning things and coming up with my own theories (which usually turn out to be wrong), I love a man that I love to hate and hate to love and I absolutely adore a strong female character that can win me over within seconds (which to be honest is very rare). Luckily for me Ms Jade didn’t let me down with Cruel Prince. Everything about this book is exactly what I wanted and what I’ve come to expect from this author. The characters feel like real people. They have layers and layers that make them who they are. They have flaws and insecurities, they’ve made mistakes and choices that have helped shape them into who they are and even though I didn’t always agree with them, they did make me connect with the characters even more.
I went into this expecting to fall head over heels for Jace within seconds. The super hot but standoffish, troubled guy that every boy wants to be and every girl wants to be with. You know the ones, the jerks that attract you like a moth to a flame, the ones you hate but can’t get enough of. That’s my weakness right there. So it was quite the surprise when it was Dylan who won me over first. She is everything! Her life hasn’t been easy, her past, her present and everything in between has thrown obstacles and betrayal at her but she’s still standing and still fighting back and I loved that about her. She’s strong but there’s a softness to her that draws you in and I found her extremely easy to relate to. Jace…I don’t even know where to start with Jace Covington. This guy has me so conflicted. I think I was so firmly on Dylan’s ‘side’ that I was really determined not let him sway me or win me over. I did pretty well before I eventually gave up the fight and started to see the bigger picture. And once I did, I fell for him and I fell hard. Once you crack his outer shell, be prepared to lose your heart to him. He’s not at all what I was expecting.
This is the first stand alone book in the Royal Hearts Academy series and it introduces the other Covington’s whose books we’ll be getting. This book is filled with brilliant characters and some really funny banter. But don’t let that fool you because this book made me feel allllll the feels. All of them. There are parts that are emotional, that gave me that dreaded lump in my throat and that turned my opinions on some characters upside down.
Cruel Prince is another fantastic book from Ms Jade and gets this new series off to a brilliant start. I can’t wait for more from the Covington siblings.
