Lyra carries the fire of the star within her. She a royal dragon on Paladin, half-human, half-dragon and all woman. Growing up hearing of the adventures and intrigue of humankind. She decides to leave the comfort and riches of her gilded cage to live a life of service as an officer of the law on Earth. Human beings are difficult creatures. Keeping them safe and protecting them from things that go … go bump in the night human or otherworldly. Well it’s a challenge, but one she takes seriously. Cops trust each other; her human partner Everett Craig can’t ever know she’s a dragon or a royal. Keeping that secret from him day in and day out can put a strain on their relationship.
When a kidnapping and murder happens one of the pieces of evidence seemed to be directed at her. Its appearance could threaten all she had built in her new life. Will her secrets be revealed, or can Lyra keep the truth hidden? Things are made far more complicated when Dragon Warriors appear to bring her home by force if necessary. How is she supposed to explain that to Everett? Can she buy some time for herself, solve the case and keep her partner blissfully unaware, all without being exposed? She thinks so (or rather hopes so) that is until Dael leader of the Paladin Warriors, her betrothed- and most certainly not by choice comes to earth himself. Bless it.

Lyra just wanted to live her life her way and on her terms, not by the old rules of the realm she came from but her father had other plans She was a detective and protect the people Arizona. Her partner Everette had mommy & trust issues. They had been partners for years and both were secretly attracted to each other. Not until she was caught in a robbery did his true feelings state to show and he became over protective. Would Lyra ever tell Everett of her second nature and the other life she has? I am such a fan of the Paladin Dragon series and to read a spin-off book was quite a treat. Dahlia Rose creates such an amazing dragon world and the dual nature creations are amazing to read about. I particularly enjoyed this one because the heroine was the dragon and her mate was human and he had to adapt to her world and lifestyle. I felt the angst of both characters and the joy of their union.
Yet again Dahlia’s ability to write a mythical world that has real world problems is awesome. I cannot wait for the next book. Job well done Ms. Rose!
What’s not to love about this story? There’s a bad ass lady dragon, a mystery to solve and a plethora of hunky men. Let’s not forget the chemistry between Lyra and Everett. The story has a bit of friends to lovers feel because of their dynamic, but what was most refreshing for me was that she was the physically stronger of the two and he was man enough to be cool with it. Recommended read
I love paranormal, and have been waiting on a return to Paladin for a while. This book did not disappoint. Seeing some familiar faces and possibly new ones was a pleasure. Lyra and Everett’s story was wonderful, sexy and sweet. The story was filled with action and suspense and Lyra’s naïveté was a breath of fresh air. Can not wait for more of this world!
I enjoyed reading this book so much! I reached out of my comfort zone. So glad I did because I couldn’t put my Kindle down! I enjoyed the storyline and the chemistry between the couple. This book is well written and it flowed. Such a fantastic book!

I loved this book, it kept me wanting more and I will definitely be getting the next installment when it comes out.
This book was a continuation of the Paladin Dragons by Dahlia Rose. Lyra and Everett were partners on the police force who protected each other. Lyra has a secret that she want to tell Everett but she afraid he won’t understand. Everett has trust issue and doesn’t like being lied to. This book had developed the main characters well along with strong supporting characters. If your looking for a good read I recommend this story. So ready to read the next book in the series.

Lyra is half human-half dragon who has chosen to live her life on Earth in the world of her late mother than be a princess in the dragon realm where her father has more traditional plans–like an arranged marriage.
I love Lyra’s character as someone who was raised in another culture (the dragon realm) and learns more about her mother’s human world, including the slang and idioms. One bit of dialogue that had me LOL was when Lyra is talking to her partner Everett:
“We should stake him out tonight, see if we caused him to have ghost sensations.”
“You mean spooked him?”
As Lyra tries to balance her human half and dragon half with regard to her work and her private life, at the heart of the story is a quite compelling murder mystery. A mother is murdered and her young son kidnapped. Clues point to an obvious suspect, but Dahlia Rose has peppered her plot with some creative and suspenseful twists–including a twist near the end that was a pleasant surprise. That and Rose’s deft handling of sexual tension makes this book hard to put down.
This is the start of a new series and I can’t wait for the next installment.
**I received an advanced reading copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

I was so excited to read the first book in this new series from Dahlia Rose! She can write paranormal – especially those involving dragons like no other. Lyra is a fierce, female dragon protecting humans. She was able to keep the two sides to her separate until her hand is forced and that’s when the story really gets interesting. I loved the chemistry between Lyra and Everett and was happy to see their relationship grow. This was such a great story and if you read any of Dahlia’s Paladin Dragon books (this book builds on that world), you’ll absolutely love this read. I think you’ll love the book even if you’re new to the world of dragons so I would highly recommend this read!
Dragons, cops and drama, ‘oh my’! I loved this read. Dahlia Rose did an excellent job with bringing these characters to live. Lyra and Everett are too cute together. I adore the interaction and the buildup between these two. The book has great character interaction, intrigue, hotness and DRAGONS. There is a great plot, an excellent flow and the book make you feel like you are a part of the action. I highly recommend this this book!
I have fallen in love with the Paladin dragons many times. I was excited to see that this dragon was a female and she was a defender of humans. I did wish I was able to get the Everett male lead’s perspective to experience his feelings for Lyra. From the beginning to the end I was hooked. From the fiance, her father picked for her and to her right to refuse I enjoyed catching up with the characters from the Paladin Dragons series. I could not put it down. Dahlia has done it again. I cannot wait until the next one.

This was a well written, complex story that kept me turning the pages! With two main story lines, that you don’t know if they directly intersect , the reader keeps reading looking for clues as to the resolution. Lyra is a great strong female heroine, but Everette is her match in every way. Fantastic read.

The Paladin dragon series is one of my favorite series by Dahlia Rose. With this book we are introduced to royal half-dragon, half-human Lyra Temple. Dahlia Rose has a way of painting a picture in your head with her stories. The characters are well thought out and the story moves at a nice pace. The chemistry between Lyra and Everett real and intense. Lyra is a strong female heroine and Everette is her match in every way. Lyra and Everett had to deal with a lot. Him with parental issues while Lyra was dealing with other worldly secrets. This story draws you in from the opening scene until the ending. I am looking forward to the next installation of this series.
The Paladin dragon series just keeps getting better and better.I loved the twist of this book with the female being dragon shifter, who is just as strong and fierce as any male dragon shifters. The chemistry between the main characters feels real and I enjoyed reading how their relationships grew. Great book!

Royal Fire was a fantastically well written book by Dahlia Rose. I love that there’s a girl dragon and a continuation of the Paladin Dragons. Lyra and Everett’s relationship was complicated to say the least. He was dealing with parental issues while Lyra was dealing with other worldly secrets. This book had amazing storytelling and strong developed main characters along with strong supporting characters.I would highly recommend this story!! Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Dahlia Rose has done it again. Great first story to what’s the start of a series. She draws you into a world of the paranormal with a strong female main character who knows what she wants and has no qualms about getting it by any means necessary. She has the alpha Male there to help but not make the woman feel inferior in any way. A good romance read which draws you in from the first few pages and you wont be able to put down.

I enjoyed the energy of this book. I really enjoyed Lyra and her bad ass can do attitude, I have to say I would like to know how her and Everett make their relationship work in the end. Hoping we get to see Dael gets his chance at love. Can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!!
