A British bad boy and a runaway princess bride collide for a tempting time… can’t believe who she is. A bloody princess? And the prim little woman won’t leave the boat, so I make an offer to scare her off—a no-strings fling.
Only she says yes.
I say no, and she promptly locks herself in my bedroom.
I swear I’m dropping her off at the next port.
She’s trouble wrapped in a pretty virginal package, and I know I shouldn’t touch.
Emma
I’m a runaway bride trying to make a clean escape. But when Jackson Walker discovers me hiding on his boat—after I get over the shock of stumbling upon a rock star’s hideaway—I immediately know he’s exactly what I need. He’s wild, rough around the edges, perfect.
My family would never approve. The press would skewer us. I still want him.
He’s the antidote to my tightly prescribed life.
But can he ever see past my title to the woman I long to be?

Being a rock god is not all it is thought to be. It has become a soulless grind to Jackson, and he goes to his mate’s houseboat, far away from the spotlight. He discovers a stowaway princess, Emma Rourke, onboard. He cannot get Emma to leave the boat, so he proposes a no-strings fling. She agrees, but he says no. She promptly locks herself in his bedroom. – I loved Jackson and Emma. They got together at just the right time. They both were self-reflecting and, therefore, helpful to each other. Anna, Emma’s sister-in-law, is fun and helpful to Jackson and Emma. I also liked Emma’s brother, Lucas, and Emma’s bodyguards. This is a fun romance.
This book was so amazing I never wanted it to end and now will be buying the rest of the books in this series. Needless to say I’m hooked and can’t get enough of these steamy hot royals. The books are so well written and flow seamlessly, Kylie Gilmore does a truly wonderful job of writing books that keep you wanting more. I’m hooked and if you are looking for a steamy read with all the things that make for a good romance this series is a definite must read!!!
Emma and Jackson are an unlikely couple, but they find they have a love of music that that they share. I love how Emma opens up to Jackson, and how she awakens his passion for life again. They do not have an easy time of it, but they figure out their HEA. I love how they connected physically, but also on a deeper emotional level.
A princess who can’t handle the day to day pressures of royal life. A bad boy rocker who has lost the will to go on and looking for new meaning.
Read on with how these two help each other while finding meaning for themselves.
This series gets better and better. Addictive
Royal Darling is another fun and exciting story, This is book three and just as wonderful as the first two. I absolutely love Kylie Gilmore she has a way with her words that grab you and pull you into her stories and this was no different. The characters are most definitely sexy and very entertaining and for me very adorable. I just have to say I loved Jackson and Emma they were a very delightful surprise their bantering was just so much fun it was a story that kept me hooked till the end. All I can say is wow another great book for some summer reading. I 100% loved and recommend this great story. I can’t wait for more from The Rourkes. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and fell for it I had to buy it.
Loved this Good Girl Meets Bad Boy story. Emma is running from her Royal Princess duties. Ditching her arranged marriage wedding to find out who she truly is away from the palace. Jackson is a rock star trying to find himself again after losing his bandmate and best friend.
Through each other they not only find music but they find love and the freedom to be themselves.
It comes a time when the currently reality seems to be too much. You crash mentally and need that escape to find, YOU. That was the Emma and Jackson alike. Two lost souls who had to answer to different “publics” and “standards” one of royalty and one of fans.
The journey was the same but the courses were different as well as enlightened. I enjoyed them together. The exploration and finding of music, love, and themselves. Two halfs to a whole no one understood but Anna apparently. You couldn’t not relate to this book because everyone has struggled with grief, acceptance, and needing time to regroup as grow.
Kylie made it sexy but hit on so many topics that people as a whole struggle with and escape to find daily.
Gah, this new series of royals by Kylie is amazing, one better than the next! 5 royal stars for this one!
Meet Princess Emma, engaged since she was sixteen to a prince from another country, an arranged marriage she’s agreed to when she turns twenty five. As the wedding is approaching she begins having doubts, with the help of her sister in law the new Queen, she runs away from the palace. She finds a house boat she thinks will be safe to hide in, only to find out when she wakes up, that it belongs to rock star and bad boy Jackson.
Follow their adventure as she tries to come to terms with her new found life, and fighting the attraction Jackson feels for her. You will definitely enjoy their story!
Emma & Jackson meet totally by accident and honestly don’t really like each other in the beginning. But there is a draw that they both feel and eventually the pull is just too strong.
A great story about self discovery and finding the things and the people that make you your best self.
I just couldn’t put this book down!! And starting the read at night, I went up to 3AM until I finished it. Emma is such a proper princess and when she got cold feet on her arranged wedding day, she run and was totally lost. Jackson was a mutt turned rock star, a rebel, not the preferred son of a single mom, he never even thought about love, romance or a family from his own. Their encounter didn’t bring any sparkle and both were very sure they were from very different universes. But Emma, lost as she was, only knew she needed to reinvent herself completely and Jackson seemed to be an opportunity for her to experience on the opposite spectrum. But running away from everything and living together for a little while showed them their inner self and out of the royal palace or the spotlight, they learned they had some deep important things in common and were indeed very attracted to each other. This book made me cry in my pillow when they finally had to face the real world and their passion and their differences seemed to big to overcome. Kylie Gilmore is an expert in creating great characters, full of layers and to take us on a journey with them to rediscover themselves and find their true love and forever happiness!!! I’m so in love with the Rourkes and can’t wait to see what’s about to happen with Lucas, Emma’s second older brother!
Royal Darling is the perfect name for Princess Emma story in the Rourke series by Kylie Gilmore. Emma is a Royal Darling perfectly molded in the image of her mother and engaged since 16 to a prince from another kingdom to marry after her 25 birthday. On her wedding day she was given the chance to runaway and she stows away on a boat of bad boy rocker Jackson Walker. Emma’s story was my favorite! l loved how Emma is finding her voice and her own personality with the support of Jackson. Family and duty play an important part in Emma life plus her over protective brothers. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series of the Rourke of Prince Lucas. This book is one not to miss reading! I received this book as an arc for an honest review of it
This new series by Kylie Gilmore is deserving of all the positive hype! From intensely proper royal characters to the brash and bold commoners they fall for you will grow to love the royal Rourkes of Villroy.
Rock and roll guitarist Jackson Walker is still grieving the loss of his bandmate and desperately trying to get his music mojo back while hiding out on a friend’s riverboat. The last thing he expects is to find a woman asleep in his bed, and a princess at that. But Jackson isn’t in the mood no matter what her reason for hiding out on his boat and his shock is quite evident when she accepts his suggestion to be at his beck and call in exchange for passage. But how will he be received by her family when they find her? She might be able to change her appearance but she will always be a princess and he will never fit into her world.
Princess Emma Rourke has always done what is expected of her, including agree to an arranged marriage nine years ago at age 16. Now at 25 she is expected to marry a man she has only seen twice and has no emotional connection to. With her father’s death and her mother distant and in seclusion Emma realizes she has lost herself and flees the royal palace on her wedding day.
Disappointing her family and country is only the beginning of Emma’s trouble. Now she’s falling for a man that will never be accepted in her world yet knowing she must eventually return to it.
I received an ARC and voluntarily offer this review.
I love Emma’s story. She is the prim and proper princess and when she does something totally unexpected she has to face the consequences. Bad boy rocker Jackson was trying sort out his life after the death of his mate and he was not looking for complications. Emma crashes into his life and both their worlds come alive. This is my favourite book so far from this series. I look forward to the rest of the series.
So much fun! This was a lot like Sleeping Beauty in a modern context. Emma has been sleepwalking through her life, and it is time to wake up. She wants to reinvent herself, and she thinks Jackson Walker is the perfect person to help her. The problem is that Jackson needs some reinventing himself. He is struggling after the loss of his bandmate, and he isn’t sure exactly who he wants to be now. They will help one another define a new life, and we get to read about it.
My favorite part of the book was the banter. Emma and Jackson tease each other quite a lot, and they are very funny. I also enjoyed the music they made together. They made a great couple with lots of chemistry.
Also, I really like that we are getting to see Anna develop in her role as queen. I love her so much!
An emotionally thrilling, action packed so not to be missed opposites collide romance that had me on a wonderfully exciting roller-coaster journey from beginning to end. A heartwarming finding your true-self kinda adventure that had me glued to my e-reader all night long! Love the Rourkes and can not wait for the next one to fall.
Emma and Jackson are both at a crossroads. Emma has finally broken from her perfect princess pedestal, and Jackson lost his music from the stress of the loss of his friend. At first meet, they are too first to work as a couple. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book
I have fallen in love with Bad Boy Rocker, Jackson Walker. He and Emma have totally burned down my Kindle. I just wanted this book to never end. Can’t say enough about have great this series is. You need to read them all!
On the surface, Emma & Jackson have nothing in common. Emma is the prim, proper, by the book princess that acts older than her years. Jackson is the rough & tough rock & roll superstar takes no a break to rediscover his music. She’s mourning her father & her place in the royal family while he’s mourning the death of his best friend & the loss of his music. With Jackson, Emma discovers a love & talent for music that brings her more joy than anything in her life. Jacksonville n rediscovers his music but with a different tone. Now that reality & Emma’s royal family are intruding, can Emma & Jackson find a way to stay together or will they just go on their separate paths the way they planned?
Ms. Gilmore digs deep beneath the surface of her characters to give her readers the best understanding of them possible. Emma appears the perfect Princess but who knew she needed to break free & become herself. This series brings home the concept that the royals are just like everyone else with their fears & expectations but they stress over different things than the public does. This was a sexy, entertaining story that was a joy to read.
There’s always room on my shelf for Kylie Gilmore. She steals the heart right out of your chest, then gives it back for safe keeping. I’ve fallen hard for those unpredictable, irresistibly addictive royals. The Rourkes know how to keep it cute, while losing control. Royal Darling gives readers a chance to follow a runaway bride into the arms of her bad boy prince. Emma and Jackson are worlds apart when it comes to life experience, but when it comes to matters of the heart, fate has a few plans of it’s own.
