A gruff prince in need of a wifeA commoner impersonating a princessAnd a bridal competition gone terribly awry… “win” this barbaric game set up by my crafty mother? By figuring out how to save the kingdom’s faltering economy through a series of challenges. This undignified circus is beneath a man of my stature! Proof being that a saucy, ill-mannered woman wearing body-hugging clothes is in the lead. I could never love someone like that, let alone marry her.
Anna
The plan sounded simple.
I pose as my friend, pick up her inheritance, and return with the cash to keep her out of jail. (Apparently, being a princess in hiding is no excuse for identity theft.) So, yeah, I’m not exactly royal. I’m an orphan, a self-made woman, and proud of it. Suddenly I’m in a battle royale with a bunch of crazy competitive women for “riches beyond our dreams.” I’m in a time crunch, which means I need to win this competition fast. Only, that means winning over the judge; the smoldering hot grim-faced Gabriel. And now I find myself wanting to compete for more than just the money. But could a royal prince ever fall for a commoner like me?

I love Kylie’s writing! It’s the sort of well-written story you can effortlessly fall into from page one. And unlike my stuff, there’s always a happy ending!
Gabriel, is the gruff crown prince of Villroy, heir to the throne and bound by duty to marry and produce an heir. He expected a quiet arrangement through royal channels. Instead, thanks to his mother, he got a palace full of women vying for his hand. To win, one had to figure out how to save the kingdom’s faltering economy. Anna, an orphan, poses as her cousin Penny in hopes of picking up an inheritance and returning with the cash to keep Penny out of jail. Anna becomes interested in competing for more than just the money.- Anna is nothing like the other contestants, who are princesses. She is fun but knows nothing about royal rules. Gabriel is strictly royal and surprised by Anna. She lightens him though, and he begins to have fun. I enjoyed Anna, Gabriel, the other contestants, and Gabriel’s family. Anna and Gabriel are both loyal and giving. This is a great story.
A funny and sometimes laugh out loud story about a commoner inadvertently thrown into a contest with other princesses with marriage to a prince as a prize. It’s well worth reading. Sexual situation and some foul language. A happily ever after ending.
This is the first book in the Rourke family series. Gabriel is the crown prince of Villroy and has trained his entire life to become king. He is grumpy and proper. Ann is a commoner. She is brash and joyous. Anna comes to Villroy impersonating her friend Polly, who is a royal in hiding, in order to collect an inheritance that will keep Polly out of jail. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to Prince Gabriel or the high born women who come to the castle, they are not there to collect an inheritance but rather to compete to become queen of Villroy and to marry Gabriel. Insanity ensues in the reality show type contests and a series of hilarious interactions starting with Anna mistaking Gabriel for the butler start to lead Gabriel closer and closer to their HEA. Along the way, Gabriel and Anna both have to deal with their preconceptions and adjust where they thought their lives were headed. Perhaps only a brash, loud, loving commoner can help Villroy to save its economy and bring joy back to the palace. Anna and Gabriel’s story has everything – laughter, tears, cringe worthy moments, family, and so much love. With Rogue Catch, Kylie Gilmore again proves she a master of swoon worthy romcoms.
Actually laughed out loud reading this wonderfully sweet and hilarious novel about how far a faithful friend will go to help a distant, distant cousin??? . . . even if she hasn’t known her that long. Once I started reading, I couldn’t stop as the people, the situation, and the writing just sucked me in, and Anna, the totally “unprepared” commoner pretending to be a princess, kept getting into the unbelievable circumstances on a deeper and deeper level. I couldn’t put the book down! Gabriel, the crown prince of Villroy, is Anna’s total opposite when they meet, and the opening scene where she thinks he’s the butler is to die for! I’ll say no more, but highly recommend this novel for anyone needing a good read to lift their spirits and to reinforce hope for the future! Kudos to Ms. Kylie Gilmore!!! And thank you!
Anna Hebert is brash, competitive, cheeky and as about as unroyal as they come. Add to that, she’s impersonating her very distant princess cousin. A recipe for a delightfully funny romantic comedy. Crown Prince Gabriel Rourke just became the prize in princess Survivor type competition. Anna is in Villroy for one reason only, to collect the specified inheritance and give it her cousin. Finding out about the marry the prince competition doesn’t sit well but maybe she can salvage something out of it. Prince Gabriel is gorgeous after all. Even if he does come across as a stick in the mud. What neither of them count on is falling in love. She’s completely unsuited to be a queen but he’s not willing to let her go.
Captivating storyline. Wonderful characters. She’s adorable and laugh out loud fun. Just a fabulous book.
This book was so amazing I never wanted it to end and now will be buying the rest of the books in this series. Needless to say I’m hooked and can’t get enough of these steamy hot royals. The books are so well written and flow seamlessly, Kylie Gilmore does a truly wonderful job of writing books that keep you wanting more. I’m hooked and if you are looking for a steamy read with all the things that make for a good romance this series is a definite must read!!!
What a great book from Kylie Gilmore. There’s nothing like being pulled into the story. You can’t help but laugh and tear up in this one. Another one where you can’t wait to see what is coming next.
I enjoyed this book immensely. I laughed and laughed. Anna is a commoner pretending to be a princess for a good cause. Gabriel is blindsided when his mother determines that princesses will compete for a chance to be his future queen. There is much hilarity that goes on through the course of this book. There is also plenty of steam. The fist time these two get together is absolutely magical. I found this book to be a very engaging start to the series, enough so that I have already purchased the next two books as part of a box set.
I liked how the author meshed old world with modern times.
Great to read a fun, well written story with a few laugh out loud silly moments. Love when the storyline, although highly implausible, still makes enough sense for me to invest in the characters, who were wonderfully interesting and developed.
This was a fun read. I love Kylie Gilmores style of writing.
Light-hearted, easy read. I enjoyed it!
Great book
Captivating and steamy- great read!
Oh I so enjoyed this book. It made me chuckle so many times with the things that happened and what they got up to. The steam was also pretty steamy and worked really well within the story. A lovely light-hearted read, thoroughly enjoyable
Gabriel is the crown prince and feels bound by duty to participate in the contest his parents have rigged for princesses to go through in order to win a prize. Anna is determined to win that prize to help her new friend Polly out of a legal jam. Both are unaware the real prize is their hearts. I couldn’t put this down.
fun book to read
Loved it! Anna & Gabriel are wonderful characters. Entertaining story.
