Francine… I never thought time-travel was real. Until it happened to me… It isn’t all fun and games though. A woman in Victorian England is a commodity. She’s owned. I discover quickly that I’m no longer the powerful business woman I was just moments ago and on top of it all I’m controlled by a man who may destroy more than my life. My only chance for safety lies in Gideon Trumbull, a … in Gideon Trumbull, a lionhearted–but evasive–duke.
What begins as a compulsion to learn anything I can about the duke turns into an urgent need until I find myself in an inescapable new reality–a world in which I don’t belong and the man I cling to won’t listen.
Gideon…
The woman is driving me mad. She’s tossed into my life without warning and instead of getting on her way she’s underfoot and insinuating herself into every single bit of my waking hours.
Not that I mind it all that much… even if I do act like it. I simply can’t seem to control myself around her, so instead of having a simple conversation that would turn to something else, I wander my home like a boorish hound.
This woman…
This time traveler…
I want her.

A steamy, fun escape. The best developed character was the book’s name-sake, everyone else got shafted on personality. The time-travel part seemed superfluous.
Well written. Good plot. This is really two books in one. I particularly enjoyed the first book about the Duke and Francine. The second one about Perry, the Viscount, and Lilly was good with an interesting plot but it seemed to be mostly an excuse for multiple erotic scenes. Not my cup of tea.
Really enjoyed this story and characters
I read the Recluse part of the book. EXCELLENT! I started in on the Rake, but I couldn’t get through it. I couldn’t get past the girl’s trauma… but don’t let that deter you!
There is nothing better than a well written time travel novel to immerse yourself in.
Both stories kept my interest and had me rooting for the characters. I don’t like to give away the story lines or any spoiler alerts but read this book, it’s well worth your time. The other books look promising too and I’ll be reading those too.
Unusual book for the genre. Very entertaining.
Great reading
It had a bit too much descriptive sex scenes, but I enjoyed the general characters and story line.
I couldn’t lay this book down. It was a terrific read. It kept me on the edge of my seat.wondering what else could happen to Francine and Gidean. It also left me with questions about the diary of Gideans and Perry’s mother and if she was also from the future. Hope another book about one of the cousins will answer that question.
The story was good but it could have been told with a LOT less sex. I don’t mind SOME sex prefer leaving it open to the imagination rather than explicit.
I loved this book! I am usually not a fan of historical novels, but man this was good. You also get two stories in one, with Francine and Lilly. The story starts in the future until something happens to Francine and she ends up back in time. There are some triggers in this book, as it tells about abuse and a rape that occurs. This book was well …
While it was fun to read, it left so many things for you to wonder about!
Like if she went to another time — how and who was/is she really? And therefore, i read until the RECLUSE and his time travel love married and did not read half of book about DUKE. So feel much left unsaid, which would have made it better.
I loved this book enjoyed the characters
This is a great epic time travel story filled with great characters and a sweeping tale of love and romance. It gets very steamy so just be prepared. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, much more than the short 200 page books and would recommend it.
Trite.
Not the worst but the amount of violence towards the women was pretty gross
They used spell check throughout the book. The word “condescension” was used when “condensation” was the correct word, and there were other instances of misuse. I find that to be insulting and a waste of my time. I would not recommend it.
