From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Ashley comes a new story in her Chaos series… her to his brothers to mete out their form of justice.
But really, Rosie has long been denying that, as she drifted away from her Bounty, she’s been falling in love with Everett “Snapper” Kavanagh, a Chaos brother. Snap is the biker-boy-next door with the snowy blue eyes, quiet confidence and sweet disposition who was supposed to keep her safe…and fell down on that job.
For Snapper, it’s always been Rosalie, from the first time he saw her at the Chaos Compound. He’s just been waiting for a clear shot. But he didn’t want to get it after his Rosie was left bleeding, beat down and broken by Bounty on a cement warehouse floor.
With Rosalie a casualty of an ongoing war, Snapper has to guide her to trust him, take a shot with him, build a them…
And fold his woman firmly in the family that is Chaos.
Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you’ll enjoy each one as much as we do.

“The road to our cloud of sweetness had been a pretty rough ride.”
I discovered MC Romance by reading my first Kristen Ashley book and I’ve never turned back. She opened my eyes, giving me a taste of dirty-talking bossy badass bikers with big hearts. Now I’m addicted, having read over 300 of them, and still loving the genre just as much if not more than when I started. Needless to say, when I saw that she was releasing Rough Ride through 1001 Dark Nights I was beyond excited to spend time with one of my favorite MC families, Chaos. I know that these 1001 Nights books are classified as novellas, but this story doesn’t skimp, it’s the full deal, giving me much more than I was expecting. It’s a standalone that introduces the characters and takes you all the way to the end, leaving you feeling fully satisfied.
Rosalie has been looking for love in all the wrong places. She was raised by loving parents so she knows what it’s supposed to be like, and that’s what she wants for herself. She thought she’d found it a few times, only to find out the hard way that she was wrong…again. She’s been disillusioned with her man for a long while, and in a last-ditch effort to save him, she decides to work with Chaos in an attempt to turn him around before it’s too late. Her plan backfires when he learns of her betrayal and her punishment is severe, leaving her broken and bloody on the floor.
Snapper knew he wanted Rosalie from the moment he saw her, but she wasn’t available. Their lives seemed to keep intersecting and every time he saw her he was more convinced that she was meant to be his. In his heart, she was his, she just didn’t know it yet. So, he waited for his chance, becoming a friend she could count on.
Rosalie tried not to be attracted to Snapper, but it was a lost cause. After she crashed and burned in such a major way with her ex, she was ready to give up on all men. Her resolution lasted as long as it took for her to notice it was #ManBunDay and being alone wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. As the Chaos family pushed themselves into her life, refusing to let her go, she realized she didn’t want them to. It felt good. But she was afraid to trust in anything good because then it could all be taken away again.”
What a sweetheart Snapper is when it comes to his Rosalie. I felt his heart with every word and action as he cradled her with care after she was released from the hospital. She might be in denial about the extent of his feelings, but I had no doubt that she was it for him. He inserted himself into her life and anticipated her every need. Wrapping her in patience and protection, holding her when she cried. Enveloping her in a #CloudOfSweetness that she had no hope of resisting. She mentally acknowledged that he was #PerfectForMe every time he did something to melt her into a puddle of goo, which was often. And I must concur, it happened to me too.
Don’t let all that sweetness fool you though, the brothers of Chaos won’t let what happened to Rosalie end there. The war with Bounty is only beginning and I wouldn’t want to be them. The ongoing club business continues as their enemies keep them busy, working to keep their club and families safe. Soon Rosalie will learn what the others already know. “Chaos men are unbreakable.”
I floved Rough Ride so hard that when I turned the last page I wanted to immediately start over and read it again. I don’t know the author’s plans for Chaos, but I really really hope that there is more of it in my future. If so, the line forms here…
I love Kristen Ashley’s books and this one was outstanding! Full of action and wonderful characters.
Oh my gosh! This book! The first words pulled me in and I was hooked. I felt like I was holding my breath while reading. This was an intense, emotional, and beautiful story set in the Chaos world that’s not to be missed.
Rosalie and Snapper are my kind of people! I love it when introverts are featured in a book, and not in an agoraphobic kind of way. This story started off rough, and living that with Rosalie wasn’t easy, and you hurt with her. This story ended ominously, and living that with Snapper was extremely difficult and a pulse racer. In-between those two events, we have two people who fell in love, but at the wrong times. We had two people so used to holding back, that when they were finally able to let go, it overflowed and overwhelmed them in the best ways. We had two people who settled into their perfect world, with each other, and matched each other perfectly. Rosalie and Snapper weren’t about the loud, in your face, or flamboyant, they were quiet, steady, solid, and wonderfully suited for each other. Loved them for their imperfections and their perfections <3
Heart breaking and love with a good man to make them both happy !!!
I’ll read anything by this author.
I listened to this on audio and LOVED it. Snapper is protective of Rosalee but he was not watching out for her on the night she was picked up and beaten by her then boyfriend from a rival MC and his brothers but he was the one she called and he found her. Now he has claimed her and he is going to make sure she learns to trust again. So good! This series just gets better and better!

4 Stars
Most of it was really fantastic.
Unfortunately, it got really long winded in the epilogue.
There were also small areas that got overly descriptive about mundane things.
Other than that, the suspense/crime elements were spot on fantastic. They were tantalizing and compelling. The world build was in depth and very well done.
The adult romance was hot and sweet & beyond steamy. I love the way Snap guided Rosa through her ordeal. How gentle and careful he was with her yet staying solid on what protecting her.
Snap and Rosalie were fantastic characters.
All the other supporting characters were well defined.
It was great to meet Rosalie’s mom. She was charming and very loveable.
Seeing the other characters, their parts in the story & how the changes in their lives was exceptional.
You feel like the characters and their world are real and they live next door or down the road from you. Or, at least, you want them to. You like them so much want them to be real.
bookshelves: romance, contemporary, suspense
I can’t seem to get enough of these Chaos Brothers! Every book is that much more inticing! Snap has the perfect mixture of Sweet and Sexy!
About Rough Ride:
Rough Ride is a Chaos Novella. This is all about Snap and Rosalie. You all may remember Rosalie as Shy’s woman before Tabitha came into the picture. After Shy broke Rosalie’s heart she did what any warm blooded woman would do, she went searching for a rebound. Now Rosalie has found herself in a bind. Beaten and bloodied by her boyfriend Beck and his motorcycle club she does the only thing she could think to do. She calls Snap.
Snap has loved Rosalie since he first saw her but he never acted on it due to her being Shy’s girl and then her belonging to another MC. Now all bets are off, Rosalie is single and he’s about to make her his.
My Thoughts:
As always, I have no idea what to expect when diving into a novel written by Kristen Ashley. I tend to find more enjoyment when going into her novels completely blind. When I started Rough Ride I was immediately intrigued and captivated. I loved how this novella started out by hooking its claws in right away, leaving me wanting more.
I read this novella in the span of three hours. Its a short read but every single bit of Snap and Rosalie’s story was worth the read.
Overall, the Chaos series is probably my most favorite MC series out there right now, and that’s saying a lot due to the fact that I’ve read a TON of mc romances. There is something about the commodore and brotherhood these brothers share. They would do anything to protect their club and the families attached. When one hurts, they all hurt and that’s a heartwarming aspect. I love the closeness of all of the relationships.
I am now starting Wild Like The Wind (Chaos #6)!!! I can’t wait to see why Hound is the way he is…..I’m all for dark romance vibes and Hound has dark written all over him!
Loved it. Too short.
Wow! Firstly, not sure I’ve ever rated a KA book three stars before. I did love the romance. Absolutely. And I expected this to be shorter than KA normal because hello, novella. But everyone was post action and the ending… I AM super glad I waited until right before the next book is released to read this though. That said, I was entertained and in love with Snapper and Rosalie. Just needed more action and more of a conclusion!
As K.A. series’ go, Chaos is my favorite. (If I’ve said that before about other KA series, I mean it this time!)
‘Rough Ride’ is the novella of Rosalie and Snapper and their story paralleled the events in the Chaos series. I’m afraid to say too much about the plot for fear of spoiling this and previous books. These characters were clearly in love and were filled with passion. Their ride was rough, how they came to be a couple wasn’t easy. But once they were freed from the anguish, and the past, their union was beautiful!
I love Ashley’s bikers. They are bad ass. They are loyal. They are protective. They are sexy. Their women are bad ass. They are independent. They are loving. They are sexy. And when you put those qualities together you get a sizzling romance!
If you haven’t read the books in this series, I think it would be best to read them first. Because even though I have, it was a while ago and I was lost sometimes with events mentioned in this novella. Which means a re-read of this series is in order!
The ending of this book let me with my jaw open. It wasn’t necessarily a cliff-hanger as much as tonic without the gin. And a girl needs her gin! I need the rest of my drink, now!
Snap tries to have patience with his woman, but sometimes that patience just runs out, “oh no,” he drawled ominously, actually moving forward so his hips were pressed to my belly, his chest brushing my breasts and his frosty eyes filling my vision. “Oh no, baby. Ol’ Snap’s done with givin’ his woman some space.” Snap is always looking out for his woman, “how about you stop crying before you get yourself hammered? You can start bawling again after you’re hammered,” he suggested.” I loved this book, I love the Chaos world so this book series ended too soon and I just want more.
Like always KA didn’t disappoint, I loved Rough Ride and I can’t wait for the next book in the series because this time around she left us wondering, that’s something that she’s never done before and although I didn’t mind it this time around I hope this was a one time thing because it kills me to wait.
Love love this book
This was a great read.
Can’t go wrong with anything that KA writes. No one writes an Alpha male like she does.
It was just okay. I’ve read better K.A books and am looking forward to her next grand novel.
WHOLLY SHEET!
WARNING: This book will leave you with heart palpitations and a MAJOR book hangover!
This is without a shadow of a doubt my favorite Motorcycle Club series. I mean, this series is some SERIOUS business, and this novella just increased my thirst. I need more, like now!
I’m not going to give you a summary of this book, other have already done this. What I will say is from the moment you open the book: Hook. Line. Sinker. You are caught. You won’t want to put it down. I loved that Rosalie was given a happy ending. I loved more that it was Snapper who gave it to her. I love how the Brotherhood is fiercely protective of theirs.
If you have not read this series, you need to rectify that and jump on it. Ride with Chaos!
CANNOT. WAIT. FOR. THE. NEXT. ONE!
I love her books can’t wait for the next one
