AND THE HOTNESS CONTINUES!
Bates and Brentlee were teenagers in love when Bates leaves to go into the service. Leaving Brentlee with her controlling pretentious parents. Her mother believes woman should not work, they should marry rich men who will take care of them. So Brentlee goes through a wild stage after Bates leaves and then she is more or less pushed to marry her friends brother, Scotty, a lawyer who turns out to be her worst nightmare. Brent’s sister is married to Fury, the president of the Notorious Devil’s MC and Bates just so happens to be a member unbeknownst to Brentlee. When she can’t take any more she turns to her sister for help. I laughed and I cried really hard. Little Stella is adorable and stole my heart. The chemistry between Brentlee and Bates rekindled like a wildfire. The sex is so freakin hot I thought my husband turned up the furnace in the house. I highly recommend this series to
At fifteen, Brentlee Johnson was heartbroken by her first boyfriend, Bates Lukin. Her life went a rather crazy and unbridled course until she married her best friend’s older brother at nineteen. Handsome, successful, from a good family and with a rising career, Scotty Corbin is like a dream. What she didn’t expect was, on her own honeymoon, to start living a nightmare. Six years later, to protect her own life and her daughter’s life, Brentlee will seek refuge in an unexpected place: alongside the outlaw of the Notorious Devils MC.
Bates Lukin did not have an easy life. Son of an alcoholic and abusive father, his childhood was filled with horrors. At seventeen a small light comes into his life, but a year later, to try to find a way to secure his younger sister’s future and move away from his complicated family situation, he will enlist in the Navy. Years later, he will return dark and tormented by the new horrors he witnessed on the battlefield. And upon discovering that the woman who owns his heart will soon marry another man, Sniper, as he is known in Notorious Devils MC, will indulge in an existence plagued by the most terrible nightmares. Which he will try to numb with booze and sex.
When these two lives collide again, love and passion reappear. However, it will not be easy to see this relationship flourish. People who suffered terrible abuse and survived. Broken lives, full of fear, hurt and guilt, with distorted images of themselves and the world. People with big problems to trust themselves and others. The couple will walk a long, winding and painful path to the longed happiness.
A good book with some small holes. But despite the ups and downs, well written and with great development. The author mixes Stella’s sweetness, with hot, electrifying, and emotionally intense scenes, making the book almost impossible to drop. A story about fresh starts and second chances, filled with hot, tattooed bikers like only Hayley Faiman can do.
I liked it but I didn’t like it. As one reviewer said, this family/group gives new meaning to the term dysfunctional. Old high school sweethearts are thrown back together when this h (Brentlee) goes to her sister (Kentley) who is married to the club prez because she’s a victim of extreme abuse. Her old high school sweetheart/first love just happens to belong to the club. Well, the roller coaster ride starts and I kept saying “I’m through” but then I just had to keep reading to see how much more crazy was going to happen. For those of you who don’t like a weak heroine, don’t like cheating and really don’t like a woman who keeps taking a man back, then don’t read this one. It felt like a ping pong ball bouncing back and forth. I’m giving it 3.5 stars based on the fact that the writing wasn’t that bad and for some reason I just had to keep reading even though I didn’t like the hero or the heroine that much. All of it was just a little OTT IMO
Definitely the right title for this book, Rough and Raw because that is exactly what you get.
We get the backstory of how Brent and Bates separated. He went away to marine boot camp and she found herself in the situation of being married to an asshole.
Bates comes back and he knows she being abused because she has the same look on her face his abused mother did.
I wanted him to man up and save her but instead he’s being a pussy about it.
I do love that he eventually steps up and in his asshole way he claims her, he made the mistake of not keeping her once he’s not being stupid again and letting her go.
Sometimes he can be completely sweet then other time a complete asshole.
A lot of raw emotions in this story will makes you want to junk punch Bates and some are very tough to read.
I enjoyed reading that he was flawed and not perfect.
I really enjoyed Brentlee and Bates’ story. I like seeing her overcome her past and becoming strong. She had to deal with a lot and seeing her strength when it came to her daughter made me respect her so much. I love how gruff Bates was. He was that total alpha male and I couldn’t get enough. Even when he was being a huge jerk. The romance took center stage in this as opposed to club drama. We have Brentlee’s past come up but I’m glad that was resolved pretty quickly. I can’t wait to see what’s to come. There’s a lot of characters I’m interested in and can’t wait to see them become all alpha over a woman. I have to say seeing Kentlee and Fury and a glimpse into their future/the present time was amazing. 4 stars #2OCCJD
Wow this author loves to give the angsty…I swear her characters will put themselves through hell before they realize what they really need or want. Bates aka Sniper is the male lead if you read Rough & Rowdy then you know Bates/Sniper, Faiman gives us all sides to Bates, some parts aren’t pretty but it’s raw. Brentlee is the female lead, she is Kentlee’s younger sister and Bates love of his life. I was not a fan of Brentlee in Rough & Rowdy but we see her in a different light and you fall for her strength, her fears and her new loyalty.
The author will give her characters sweet, sexy, rough and raw. At times she will made me hate Bates, I wanted to slap him a few times other times I wanted to hold him close. Faiman writes in a way that will pull you into the storyline that is not all hearts and rainbows. She puts you through real emotions from beginning to end. She will give you the good, the ugly, evil within ourselves and cruel but make it beautifully raw. I highly recommend this story and series if you love dirty talking raw alpha males, kickass heroines that go through hell and lots of sexy time between the sheets then Notorious Devils Series is for you, plus if your a Kindle Unlimited member the books are on it. Happy Reading!!!
