I love a good cowboy, almost as much as I love anything by Lauren Landish. Put them together and it’s a whole bowl of ice cream! YUM! Yes please!
4.5 Stars
I have been waiting for Bruce “Brutal” Tannen’s book and was not disappointed. We were introduced to Bruce in the Bennett brothers books. He was a big guy who got his nickname “Brutal” on the High School football field. Alyson Meyers was his first love in High School. She was a year older than him and went to college while he was in his Senior year in High School. Of course, there is a misunderstanding and Alyson breaks things off with him. It is now about ten years later and Bruce is coaching a peewee football team and Alyson’s son is on the team. This is a great setup for a enjoyable second chance romance. What makes this book great is Bruce. He is a gentle giant and you want him to get his happily ever after. I cannot wait to read the the rest of the Tannen brothers books.
Second chance at love stories are the best! This Tannen brother. Bruce will captivate you mind and soul. He reconnects with Allyson the only woman who broke his heart and they both changed. She is not the same person that she was and is she or is he willing to try again. Another great series with fabulous characters their journey should be epic. I honestly volunteered to review this arc.
Wow! Where do I begin? Bruce is so unexpected from what he appears to be on the outside. This rough and tough guy has such a soft side to him. The only one who really knows this is Allyson. The girl he fell in love within high school. When she went off to college it was hard on both of them and because of misunderstandings caused by others they drifted apart. Now Allyson is back. She has gone through a lot and is just trying to take it one day at a time. Bruce is still mad at what happened years ago. Neither can deny the feelings that have never gone away. They find a way to deal with the past. You really get a sense of who Bruce is deep down inside when he is coaching the pee wee football team Allyson’s son is in. This is such a well written story and I thoroughly enjoyed every part of it. The chemistry is so hot and passionate between Bruce and Allyson. I also enjoyed the way parts of their past were woven into the story. It made you get a sense of how the love between them started and helped them see how strong that love still is. Wonderful HEA! Can not wait for the next book in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Rough Love by Lauren Landish is book 1 in the Tannen Boys series. This is Allyson Meyers and Bruce Tannen’s story.
This is a 2nd chance romance /friends to lovers/ small town romance/ steamy read
What an amazing start to a new series!!! Full of feels, steam, chemistry and heart!! Love Bruce and Allyson! They both have heart and soul. They are getting their 2nd chance at love but will they take it or let it pass them by? The twists and romatic turns are great. Loved the emotions and feels that occurred. Can’t wait for book 2!
My Rating: 4.5 stars ******
If you loved the Bennet Boys, you’ll love the Tannen Boys as well. Bruce and Alyson’s relationship started in HS and ended through a series of misunderstandings while they were in separate colleges. Years later, Bruce shows up as the coach of Alyson’s son’s PeeWee football team. Old hurts and feelings are still strong between these two. How they manage to maneuver those and come out in a better, stronger relationship makes for a well paced, page turner. Great start to the Tannen Boys series.
I received an ARC and this is my honest review.
Bring on the Tannen boys.
Rough Love gives us Bruce “Brutal” Tannen. The large hunk of a man known for his temper on and off the football field. With everything the Tannen’s have gone through lately Bruce keeps to himself and is a quiet man. When he is driving through town and sees a scuffle between some young boys playing football he is drawn to stop and intervene. Little did he know that little act would change his life forever.
Allyson has been back in town for a while trying to raise her son the best way she knows how. She finally escaped his father so she is trying to be both parents for him. When he wanted to play football she thought that would be a great idea but little did she know it would also be a good idea for her and their future.
Allyson and Bruce have a past and a young boy and football will bring them back together and mend old wounds.
This is an amazing story. I have been patiently waiting on the Tannen boys to get their books and this is book 1. We still have the Bennett family interwoven with the Tannen’s and everyone is finally settling in to their respective roles in the mixed family. Bruce had a hurtful past and it caused him great pain that he has dealt with for years but when Allyson and her son show back up in his life he finally has the chance for his HEA.
I received an early copy to read and review and give my honest opinion. I loved this story. It has all the feels in it from anger to compassion to hate and back to love. There is trust that has to be earned on both sides and you feel the love between these two. It is so well written. I love where this author took Bruce and Allyson. I highly recommend this book. It is intertwined with the Bennett’s but it can be read as a stand alone.
ARC review For honest review. Bruce (brutal) Tanner ex football star now rancher finds himself coaching a football Team for little league where he meets one of his kids Cooper ‘s mom who is Allyson from his past. Awesome and beautiful story.
Bruce Tannen wasn’t known as Brutal on the football field because he was a finesse player. No, he was brutal and rough but, to Allyson Meyers, he was the man she fell in love with and was her first for everything. Unfortunately, due to some deception and miscommunication, they split up when she went to college. Ten years later, she has returned both broken and guarded. Bruce was the football star in high school and, when he happens across a group of boys who are “playing football” that has devolved into a fight, who better than he to be their coach! As Allyson looks on to see what her son is doing on the field, her eyes find her former love and the feelings come to the surface again. Have too many years passed and they’ve lost their chance? This is where the their hearts have to be honest with each other. Cooper is such a character and adds such a special touch to this story. Then, there’s the matriarch who provided the best lines to show her sense of humor and her unwavering love for her family. This is a delightful story with a plot that develops slowly and with characters that are not only honest, they are real. Exceptional!
Nothing better than the Tannen brothers, Bennett brothers, their women and Mama Louise!! Lauren Landish delivers another great book! Bruce and Allyson…. second chance love… just perfect!!
Bruce is just a working man. Allyson is back home and when they reconnect…. wow!! She’s a mom now. Her sweet son is her priority. As Bruce goes to help with his football team, he tries to not want Allyson but their history draws them both in. Allyson has walls up and Bruce wants to tear them down.
This is an amazing story of family and love and fighting for what you want!! It brings incredible characters, amazing chemistry and real family!!!
Wow, wow, wow! Bruce and Als story is AMAZING! It’s defiantly an emotional rollercoaster so be ready for that. This story is FULL of every emotion and will have you laughing, crying, and everything in between. This is a second chance romance and it will NOT disappoint!
This was a fun read. Bruce was a sexy alpha male who wasn’t about let anything stand in the way of his second chance with he’s highschool sweetheart Allyson. I really enjoyed this book. It was well written with great characters and a storyline that had plenty of drama, emotions, chemistry, romance and love. Highly recommend!
I received an advanced readers copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
This is the 1st in a new series about these overprotective Tannen brothers. This is Bruce and Allyson’s story. These two have a history and now Allyson is back in town with her son. This is a beautifully written tale which has a gruff, dirty talking alpha, and the women who owns his heart. I cannot wait to read more int his amazing series, and I highly recommend for all readers.
THE FOOTBALL STAR AND CHEERLEADER…TEN YEARS LATER
Bruce “Brutal” Tannen is a BIG man….REALLY BIG…He was a high school football star, and he didn’t get his name, “Brutal” because he is so sweet…..but, where Allyson Meyers is concerned, he is very sweet….and loving…and, well…HOT!!! Bruce is very HOT!! VERY! HOT!
Bruce and Allison were high school sweethearts and the first everything for each other…When Allison goes off to college, she and Bruce breakup due to several misunderstandings….and their lives move in different directions…..but they never really got over each other…Ten years later, fate intervenes, and Bruce finds himself at a peewee football practice refereeing a fight, when he sees Allyson, again, and realizes she’s back in town, and her son, Cooper, is on the team he’s now agreed to help coach…And Bruce has waited 10 years for Allyson, and he has a chance of getting the life he’s always wanted….And, heaven help anyone who tries to stand in his way….
ROUGH LOVE is the first Tannen brothers book, and it’s a great second chance romance….If you loved The Bennett Brothers Series, you will, for sure, love this book… And if you haven’t read The Bennett Brothers Series, now might be a good time…I loved Bruce and Allyson!!!
Bruce “Brutal” Tannan earned his nickname on the high school football team. When he breaks up a fight between some young boys in the park, the last thing he expects is to come face to face with the love of his life. Allyson Meyers moved back to her home town with her young son for a fresh start, she didn’t know that Bruce would end up coaching her sons pee wee football team. Allyson and Bruce were high school sweethearts, but rumor and innuendo caused their breakup, as adults they realize the truth. Can they the past to have a relationship?
Sexy, and compelling characters, in a plot with some surprising twists in the plot. Allyson is keeping a secret, and Bruce wants to be a part of a family with his love and her young son. Can he convince her to give them another chance?
I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.
We met the three Tannen brothers and sister in the previous books and now it’s time to get the brother’s story. First brother up is Bruce aka Brutal from his high school football days, who gets roped in to assistant coaching for a little league team. He’s surprised when he finds out that one of the boys, Cooper, is the son of Allyson, his first and only love who left him shattered when she broke up with him many years ago. Allyson moves back to her home town years ago to raise her son and until now she has not run into Bruce, her first love who left her devastated when they broke up. Now years later, after a divorce and trying to get back to herself….can they both find the closure they both need to move forward.
Another hit by this author with great characters, some humour and a second chance love story. I loved these two, especially Brutal, who’s scowls and outer looks is nothing like the man he is deep down and only shows his true self to a select few, as well as to young boys who worm their way into his heart through their love of football. I loved that there is no over the top drama between the couple, the man wasn’t afraid or ran away from his feelings, the scenes with the kids brought smiles to my face and the steamy scenes had me reaching for a tall glass of ice water to cool down. This one had heartache, heartbreak, laughter, heat, closure from years ago and answers, love and a great HEA that had me smiling from ear to ear.
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
Absolutely loved Bruce and Allyson’s story!! Both are going through life with a heavy heart and dealing with the card that life has dealt them but neither was prepared for what would the moment they step into each other’s orbit again. They both have a lot things that have happened and neither are really the person they once knew anymore but that can’t help but gravitate towards each other. Definitely recommend!!!
Rough Love by Lauren Landish is Book One in the Tannen Boys series. This is the story of Allyson Meyers and Bruce Tannen.
Allyson and Bruce where young and in love when a misunderstanding pulled them apart. Bruce was the High School all start foot ball player but now is working on a ranch trying to find himself. When he agrees to help coach a kids football team it brings him back to Allyson. Allyson hasn’t seen Bruce for years and really didn’t think he was still in town. Allyson has mixed feelings with seeing Bruce again. Allyson has changed so much from who she once was as a survivor and now single mother.
This was a sweet hot read on second chance on love.
This is a do not put down kind of story and I don’t mean in a mysterious way but you get so attached to Bruce and Allyson’s story you don’t want put it down.
Rough Love is based on the Bennett family books where we were introduced to the Tannen Boys. Bruce (Brutal) Tannen stops when he sees a bunch of kids playing football and a tackle e that has turned mean. Bruce can’t help himself but go stop the boys from picking on the smaller one but when he meets Cooper the smaller one they connect instantly but when he meets Coopers mom Allyson he knows why , Allyson was his first love. Allyson broke Bruce’s heart and Bruce broke hers and neither one has ever recovered but they have to try and get along for the team. I just loved this story and Allyson was so strong and Bruce was tender even though they call him Brutal.
If you’ve read the Bennett Boys Ranch series, you might have an inkling that Bruce ‘Brutal’ Tannen’s tough exterior may have a squishy layer below it. You don’t need to read the prior series first but it’s good! It also gives a little more background to the Tannen family and their current situation.
The Tannen Boys series is gearing up to be a wild ride. First we start with Bruce’s story. He’s a big imposing guy who finds himself face to face with his former flame, Allyson, in the last place he would have expected to see her. His brothers remember how hard Bruce took their breakup and want to see that he doesn’t fall for her again…
For completeness, I would recommend reading the Bennett Boys Ranch series first (Buck Wild is book 1). You will be hooked on these ranchers in no time! This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy.
