He’s big, he’s rough, and when he takes the reins he’s going to ride her hard. When Megan Newman took a job shoeing horses at the Hammer and Nails ranch, she knew she’d be working for a tough, old-fashioned cowboy. She didn’t expect to be threatened with a trip over his knee for disregarding basic safety precautions, and she definitely didn’t plan on finding out what it feels like to be ridden so … like to be ridden so roughly she’ll be sore for days with her bottom still bright red from the spanking that left her in such desperate need of a hard ride in the first place.
Megan could try to tell herself she’s only sticking around because she’s fallen in love with a horse, but she knows that isn’t the truth. There is a beautiful animal with an uncaring owner and she has a plan to rescue it, but that isn’t what’s keeping her at Hammer and Nails. She’s still there because she needs breaking in, and there’s only one cowboy she trusts to take the reins…

Total spank-worthy read! Recommend if you need a rough cowboy in your life!
Another fun hot read by this very talented author
Megan Newman is a farrier who needs a little discipline and cowboy Brad Hillman is just th man to give it to her. This old fashioned cowboy will discipline her as many time as she needs it and in the process he will win her heart. Definitely a page turner
Rough Cowboy
This is the first time I have read a story by Ms. Carpenter. The blurb grabbed my attention so I decided to give it a try. Overall it was a good read. Some of the dialogue was “eehh” but not enough to impact the read. Brad was definitely all Alpha. Fortunately, Megan found that she enjoyed his brand of roughness.

I really liked this domestic discipline cowboy story.
Brad Hillman is a gruff, rough and tough horse farrier and metal sculptor. He is also a sadist Dom who hides his proclivities from his conservative community. His assistant of 7 years, Andy quits to work for his girlfriend’s father and Brad is desperate to find a replacement. Megan Newman is a barefoot trimmer who interviews with him. She is smart, curvy and always late. He hires her as a trimmer and horse trainer. He spanks her for a foolhardy action and she discovers she likes being disciplined. She is thrilled to find a horse she previously worked with at his ranch and is determined to buy her from the owner. They have some ups and downs but eventually get their HEA.

Loved this book. The story encompasses it all horses, steamy scenes and intrigue.
ALWAYS ENJOY THIS AUTHORS WORK! PLEASE KEEP EM COMING
Very hot
SEEMS LIKE FATE…
Brad Hillman is a cowboy in the horse business who hires Megan Newman as his new horse trimmer, trainer and resident “horse whisperer”….These two have other things in common aside from horses….Some light BDSM, hot characters, and a good story…..Pure Maggie Carpenter….
Megan and Brad are both impressive with their individual horse skills and together they are beyond. They click and get each other. And they both like when he reddens her behind.
This is a great cowboy story. I don’t know that I would call it dark maybe greyish. Brad is a fabulous character that even though he is stern and forbidding, he is also caring and sweet. Megan is the best character in the story. She has a back story that really resonates and she is so talented. Lots of twists and suspense. Well done Ms. Carpenter.
Fabulous as always!!
I didn’t get very far in the book and I couldn’t finish. Characters are very much on the surface. The girl was just two dimensional and very stereotypical “bubbly girl”. Not my cup of tea.
where do i get me a cowboy,,,,great book!
The cover was more interesting then the book
This is an intriguing story. I loved the way the author built each character and spins the story around life caring for horses. It’s not just cleaning stalls and feeding them.
Ugh! Couldn’t finish it. The dialogue was horrible!
