Tegan Raccini’s heart has been hardened her parent’s divorce, and by the recent loss of her bad boy biker lover to a life-long prison sentence. She isn’t bitter; in fact, she’s rather upbeat. But, she simply doesn’t trust men. When she causes an accident with a motorcycle on thefreeway, she’s immediately attracted to the handsome biker, but knows she can’t stand another heart break. Even though … Even though she’s unemployed, she agrees to pay for the damages, hoping to never see him again.
To earn the money for the repairs to his motorcycle, she accepts a job as the in-home caregiver for an elderly man who is confined to a wheelchair.
There’s one problem when she shows up at his home.
A BIG problem.
He’s the biker’s father.
ROUGH is a stand-alone MC Romance with no cheating, no sex outside the relationship, and no cliff hanger. It has an HEA, and although it is book II of a series, no other book is required to tell this tale. For the complete experience, and to understand the ancillary characters fully, reading HARD before ROUGH is recommended.

Oh my God, if I thought I loved Scott Hildreth’s heroines before I was wrong, Tegan just jumped to the top of the list of badass chicks.
Her first meeting with Pee Bee is a complete disaster, she destroys his bike and he’s not thrilled with her.
She has no money to pay him but quickly finds a well paying job that should quickly remedy that.
Until she knocks on the door an comes face to face with the man himself.
This doesn’t go well, he doesn’t want her taking care of his father and has no issues telling her so.
He’s got a very low opinion of her which she quickly remedies. (This is truly my favorite part of this book!)
Tegan is pretty laid back. She’s the opposite of Pee Bee in most ways, she doesn’t curse and every other word out of his mouth is filthy, she doesn’t date bikers and that’s what he is so when their attraction becomes clear there are some things to work through. Luckily Lex is pretty accepting of people just as they are so she doesn’t expect him to be someone he’s not but she also won’t be someone she’s not so if you want her you take her as she is, quick witted snarky mouth an all.
These two are at each others throats more than not and it’s enjoyable as hell to read.
I absolutely love these two together, I’m pretty sure they may be my favorite couple yet.
And the evolution of Pee Bee. That was pretty amazing to watch. Seeing him grow basically and become a man, well a real man under his father’s guidance. That’s my second favorite part of this book.
Rough is a bit of a lighter story than Hard was, yea Tegan has a past but it’s not as dark as Peyton’s. She really doesn’t have anything to get over other than her distrust of bikers. She’s completely amazing from her ability to cut a man down with her words to her spider monkey routine. The end broke my heart but I knew it was coming so it wasn’t exactly a shock but I did cry during the last chapter or two damn you Scott Hildreth, that’s twice now.
Best couple yet, well in this series at least. These two will be hard to top!
I read this book a long time ago. I’m doing a re-read of the entire series.
This is the series that introduced me to Mr. Scott Hildreth. He is an absolutely amazing author. He certainly knows how to grab your attention right at the beginning and hold you captive till the end.
This was a humorous, entertaining, emotional, but overall a wonderful journey to go on with Pee Bee and Tegan. I love this book.
I absolutely loved this book! For so many reasons! Pee Bee and Tegan meet in less than perfect circumstances when she unintentionally knocks him off his bike. To say he is less than pleased is an understatement! When they meet again, Tegan is on his parents front porch, ready to start a day’s work…..and she drops him like a sack of spuds!!
This girl is full of vim and verve and I love her, closely followed by Pee Bee’s Dad!! Loved the relationship that she built up with him.
This book is a little more than a normal MC book.
…after reading, the cover is glimpse of what is inside..
In the beginning, He was crass, unforgiving, abrupt.
…she was spitfire, guarded, jaded
Love his father, his character, his matchmaking, and his insight..
… this book is more about emotional growth, and the fall, which was epic.
Love how their relationship grew, and how they grew together….
Rough was a good read with great characters. I really enjoyed Pee Bee’s (Brad) dad Bradley. He definitely made me smile a lot while reading this story. I loved the relationship that Bradley developed with Teagan, especially their moments playing Scrabble. Pee Bee and Teagan’s relationship also made me smile while reading their story. Their story was a definitely a steamy one but I do wish I felt more of a connection between them. I do wish that since Chip was in this story that there was also more of Peyton in this one. The ending of this story was sweet but I do wish there was an epilogue.
This is Scott’s best story to date! Scott has woven a cast of characters that come together to create an incredible story of love, devotion, family and brotherhood.
Tegan and Pee-Bee do not meet under the best circumstances, but sparks soon fly! Add in a 30 year old corolla with only one door, a cantankerous father who loves teaching life’s lessons, a gay friend who can’t seem to stay away from an abusive ex, an MC club that looks after their own and a game of scrabble and you get pure magic!
This book takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions, so hang on tight and get ready for the ride of your life.
Rough
(of a person or their behavior) not gentle; violent or boisterous.
Great H/h dynamic.
A real page turner.
A sit and don’t stop read.
A secondary character that is a scene stealer.
A love story like no other.
I can’t believe I am saying this again: it’s the best one yet.
Pee Bee and Tegan are a match made in heaven.
How can a 6’8” OCD member of an MC and a petite nurse with an attitude work?
What comes next is pure magic. Tegan is closed off from matters of the heart, Pee Bee is a manwhore and proud of it.
She stands up to him and doesn’t give an inch. He swore up and down he wouldn’t have sex with her.
Desperate to pay for Pee Bee’s motorcycle repairs Tegan lucks out on a full time job taking care of Pee Bee’s Pop. Abrasive and opinionated Pop is a little hard to handle. Pee Bee doesn’t think she can handle the job she knows she can. While caring for him she falls in love with the old man and her heart starts to heal. The more Pee Bee is around her the more he finds to like.
Whatever you do you have to read this book.
This book was AMAZING! Loved every bit of it. The way Pee Bee/Brad and Tegan meet was original, to say the least. Her showing up as the potential care giver for his father, and what followed right after, was comical. Pee Bee and Tegan had me chuckling more than Hard, but it is still very much an MC book complete with a few decent other MCs thrown in. And for those who have possibly read Rough or are considering it, muzjik really is a Russian peasant (I just had to check, but wasn’t in my dictionaries I had to Google to make sure.)
Pee Bee and Tegan are positively perfect for each other. And Tegan is a wonderful addition to the FFMC family. I’m keeping my review a bit short, because I’m dying to get started on Dirty.
Rough is a book full of passion, comedy, tears, friendships, love, loss and of course, hot sex like only Mr. Hildreth can write about. This is the love story of Pee-Bee (whom I fell in love with in the first of the series, Hard) and Tegan. I felt a great fondness for Pee-Bee’s father and the special relationship he forges with Tegan as well as the humorous one he has with his son. Rough is full of amazing characters who are strong willed and loyal to a fault. The character chemistry is so off the charts and the story line keeps you turning the page wanting/needing more and then being disappointed when its over because you became so engrossed in the lives of the characters. That’s what Scott Hildreth’s books do, they pull you in and take you on amazing journeys with characters you grow to love and those you love to hate. Congrats to one of the most talented authors I am so lucky to have found and am always looking forward to the next book!
