A reading feast that I had to continue with the next set.
I liked this series so much I got the next set (4-6) and I am reading it now.
Plot resolutions are a little lazy.
I enjoyed this series of books so much that I actually paid for the rest up to Book 10. Each book has new viewpoints with a good variety of characters
Books 1-3 introduce the reader to the residents of the small town of Rose Hill. Each book starts with the murder of a criminal. The book intertwines the murder with some of the residents and lets the reader find out why the death of the person murdered helps the residents. “Rose Hill” starts with the murder of Theo Eldridge, the richest, sleaziest man in the town. He owns most of the property and wants to buy the rest. Readers learn who has benefited from his murder and try to use various clues that could point to the murderer. Police Chief Scott is one of the main characters in each of the books. He is assisted by Maggie Fitzpatrick, bookstore owner and member of one of the town’s largest families, and her cousin and best friend, Hannah Campbell, who is also the animal control person. “Morning Glory Circle”s victim is Margie Estep, the former postmistress of Rose Hill. “Iris Avenue” starts with the murder of Ray Callahan, a drug dealer. Mrs. Wells, the head of a drug ring, is also one of the villains in Books 2 and 3. I could not put the books down. Some of the things I wanted to happen never did. I look forward to reading the other books in the series to see what happens to each of the characters and their families. Each book can be read alone because the murders are solved in each book and do not depend on the others to find out how a particular crime will be solved.
Enjoyed the series and bought the next three… at times a little wordy but the story line and characters were a fun escape
Rose Hill Mystery book sets were one of the best series I have read. I couldn’t put each story down until I finished it and then wanted to go on to the next one. I have read all ten and hope she writes more and not leave us hanging after the last one.
I enjoyed the first 3 books in the series so much that I purchased the next 3 books in the series. I think the characters are interesting and I want to follow their lives in this small town.
I really enjoyed this series. The characters were real and you became attached to each of them, with all their flaws. Can’t wait to read the next set.
The characters and situations are realistic, believable, and far less than perfect that you will find in many novels. The plot twists and turns and, just when you think you have it all figured out, things change again. Each book ends leaving questions about some of the characters and their secrets, and leaving you wanting more. If you have ever lived in a small town, you will understand the picture the author paints of this community, its colorful characters and the secrets that are not so secret.
I Really enjoyed it and the characters are really good.
I loved these books and I’m now reading the next three in the series. I read a lot of cozy mysteries and they help pass the time, but this is the first series that felt real and alive to me. I got drawn into the lives of the Fitzpatrick family, and I laughed and cried with the story. Some of the characters lines are wonderfully witty and funny, some of the plot lines are moving and sad, and the mysteries are often surprising. I can’t get enough of these books, and each time I finish one I can’t wait to start the next!
I was sorry to leave after three books. I enjoyed the characters and the story lines.
An excellent series set in a small town, great characters & you can’t predict the ending!
What an enjoyable set of books! I just love the characters Ms. Grandstaff has created, and the way she has captured small-town life. A delightful summer read!
I’m about half way thru the 3 volume set and loving every minute, even at 4am lol
Interesting characters and good writing
Great read
Moved quickly from book to book with new twists in each book — I enjoyed the series
I couldn’t put this series down! Loved the story, looking forward to ordering the next three books to see what happens next…I highly recommend it. There were a couple of very sad parts and tissue worthy.
