Oh did I love this story. These two fight it tooth and nail but they are both just fighting their chemistry. Kat is all sass and does not want to get involved with anyone. Brax is such a swoon worthy alpha that just wants to know Kat more than that one night stand. The banter and the pranks that these two play on each other is priceless and I laughed a lot during this story. I loved the addition this is to the Bishop family too. You get a little sneak peek into what has been going on with them too! Overall, this book gives you a sweet and quick rush but also wanting more. I enjoyed every moment of this book!
Holy shit! Kat & Braxton have a HUGE amount of pent-up sexual tension to deal with after their one-night stand turns into a battle of wits and words at the Circle B Ranch Bed & Breakfast with one of them refusing to admit that their night together meant anything but amazing sex and the other hellbent on proving her wrong by any means necessary.
Let the schoolyard games begin!
Kat’s emotional baggage and hurt feelings and Braxton’s wounded ego cause a war of pranks and sabotages that only further amp up their animosity, causing them to act without thinking and say things just to get under each other’s skin…almost like a rash that won’t stop;)
I’ll be honest…I didn’t like how Kat and Braxton handled their situation; I wanted them both to be put in a corner and stop acting like elementary school kids with their antics and childish behaviors, but there are absolutely people who would approach their issues like this, and, in the end, these two got their shit together and realized what they truly wanted from each other, which wasn’t to see how much they could knock down the other or how they could one up one another’s trickery.
Because of the mayhem that Kat and Braxton cause and are on the receiving end of, readers are either going to find the characters’ games comical and as a method of foreplay OR they’re going to want these two to handle their issues like adults, not children who got their feelings hurt, especially Kat – because while Braxton may have a ‘chip on his shoulder,’ I never quite figured out why she did the things she did; I’m a reader who wants to understand why characters act the way they do and say the things they do, and while I didn’t quite get that insight with Kat, but, let me reiterate, the fact that amends were made…that everything was wiped away when Kat and Braxton figured out their real feelings for one another and went about rectifying how they handled everything before made it easier to get past everything she did to sabotage and tick Braxton off.
I hope Kennedy Fox will take readers back to the Circle B Ranch because there are a lot of secondary characters, I would love to know more about!
3.5/4 Poison Apples
Roping the Cowboy was a flirty and secy romp of a novella! This enemies to lovers starts as a one night stand and turns into an enemies to lovers romance filled with crazy planks and hot make-up sex.
While they may claim they don’t like one another, the chemistry between Kat and Braxton is undeniable. The verbally spar and prank one another, but honestly, the sexual chemistry is so intense you know it’s only a matter of time before they give in to their desires once again.
There are some very sweet and romantic moments in this novella as well and readers will love the extended epilogues to see just where Kat and Brax end up! 4 stars.
Man do I love a Kennedy Fox book! This is one of the BEST author duo’s around! I even had the pleasure of meeting them at a book signing event last year and haven’t been able to stop reading their books since. I am slowly but surely making my way through every. single. one! That being said, Roping the Cowboy is another goodie from the duo. While it took me a little while to warm up to the heroine (she isn’t the nicest one around) I ended up liking her and the love story between she and Braxton. These two are great together- even though the hate they had for one another seethed right off the pages in the beginning!
For a short book (it’s a novella) Kennedy Fox did their story justice! I am super excited to see where they take the rest of the series. You know for sure I will be reading as soon as they are available!!!
A fast paced, quick, dirty read. I loved the banter between Kat and Braxton. Insta-chemistry despite that both of them are fighting it. So many sweet, funny, and sexy moments. Definitely worth the read!
