What would you find if you walked into the rooms of your soul? One man is about to find out.James L. Rubart is the bestselling, four-time Christy Award-winning author of nine novels, and has won numerous other accolades for his unique, mind-bending stories. About ROOMS: It was just a letter. Cryptic, yes absolutely. But Seattle software tycoon Micah Taylor can’t get it out of his mind—the claim … Taylor can’t get it out of his mind—the claim that a home was built for him by a great uncle he never knew, on the Oregon coast. In Cannon Beach. The one place he loves. The one place he never wants to see again.
Micah heads to Cannon Beach to sell the house and keep his past buried, but the nine thousand square-foot home instantly feels like it’s part of him.
Then he meets Sarah Sabin at the local ice cream shop … maybe Cannon Beach can be the perfect weekend getaway.
But strange things start happening in the house. Things Micah can’t explain. Things he can barely believe. All the locals will say is the house is “spiritual.” Unsettling since Micah’s faith slipped away like the tide years ago.
And then he discovers the shocking truth: the home isn’t just spiritual, it’s a physical manifestation of his soul.

Thought provoking
A book that you won’t want to put down. Highly recommended… a spiritual journey of faith, friendship, love and forgiveness.
I loved this book! It’s thought provoking and hard to put down. When I finished it I immediately called some friends told them to download it from Bookbub, and when they were done reading it to call me back because I wanted to talk about a couple of things at the end of the book to ensure I got it right. There are not many books I do that with, but this one you want to talk about when you’ve turned that last page. Great book!
Micah Taylor has it all…wealth, looks, success a thriving business. When he is told his distant uncle has bequeathed him a house on the coast of Oregon, one built especially for Micah, he goes to look at the house to sell it. Once Inside, Micah finds the house is more, much more than walls and doors…this house holds his soul.
This is a book I’ll be rereading again and again! The author kept me going from start to finish and I only wish this book would have continued. The youthful President of a leading Seattle software company rides at the top of his world of riches and prestige. He feels he has no need of God in his life. That is until he inherits a mansion…. Recommended!
Great read I loved the biblical quotes and it was inspiring lesson.
Inspirational
Absolutely took me by surprise the way the story was told. So very creative. It will make you think about your real relation with God and people. Unforgettable
This is actually the second time I have read Rooms. I love this book and would highly recommend others read it.
I enjoyed this book. There were times it hit a draggy spot, but I kept going back to read. I really wanted a good ending
Pay attention and follow HIS lead.
This was a fast paced book with a lovable main character, a very unique story line and a wonderful Christian message. Reminds me a little of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol but in modern times and not at Christmas.
Wow. Couldn’t put it down, didn’t want it to end.
A journey from being of the world to being in the w oooooio rld.
Not my usual genre, but it was an interesting read.
Edge-of-your-seat story. Well written. I want to read all James’ books.

It was not like any book I’d ever read. The house is alive with God. The main character learns through many errors that God is for him. The main character experiences God in many powerful ways, yet if you let your faith run with your heart, it is possibly exactly how each of us could experience God, if we were open enough. A great book!
Great book!
I highly recommend his books. He keeps you guessing.
Really was a fantasy with a true inspirational theme, no boring parts.
