What would you find if you walked into the rooms of your soul? One man is about to find out.James L. Rubart is the bestselling, four-time Christy Award-winning author of nine novels, and has won numerous other accolades for his unique, mind-bending stories. About ROOMS: It was just a letter. Cryptic, yes absolutely. But Seattle software tycoon Micah Taylor can’t get it out of his mind—the claim … Taylor can’t get it out of his mind—the claim that a home was built for him by a great uncle he never knew, on the Oregon coast. In Cannon Beach. The one place he loves. The one place he never wants to see again.
Micah heads to Cannon Beach to sell the house and keep his past buried, but the nine thousand square-foot home instantly feels like it’s part of him.
Then he meets Sarah Sabin at the local ice cream shop … maybe Cannon Beach can be the perfect weekend getaway.
But strange things start happening in the house. Things Micah can’t explain. Things he can barely believe. All the locals will say is the house is “spiritual.” Unsettling since Micah’s faith slipped away like the tide years ago.
And then he discovers the shocking truth: the home isn’t just spiritual, it’s a physical manifestation of his soul.

One of THE best Christian fiction books I’ve read! I highly recommend this book!!
The author weaves a thought provoking tale that causes the reader not only to enjoy the read but causes him to self-examine his own heart in the process.
I don’t know what I think of this book. Didn’t understand it exactly. I ‘ve put it aside to read again and more slowly. I know it’s spiritual but I can’t figure out exactly who the characters represented. So maybe I read it too fast.
Great book. A should read for all
I didn’t want to put the book down. I was pleasantly surprised.
This was a great book. Kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next. I looked forward to each new room to see what it would reveal and what the reaction and outcome would be.
A wonderful representation of a mans developing relationship with God!
Loved this book…opened my world. Remember, the Holy Spirit IS spiritual. God is great! He is on control.
Love! And I am tough on writers! I have recommended to friends and will definitely read more from this author.
Reminded me somewhat of The Shack.
I read this book a few years back and considering that I read 2-3 books a month between my two jobs, that’s a lot of books ago. This one sticks in my mind as being very unexpected, otherworldly, and thought provoking. The book unfolds as the rooms do, each appears as Micah recalls many aspects of his life and experiences that he has worked to forget, yet have formed the person that he is. Walking through this house and each of it’s new rooms helps him see into his life and soul in a deeply meaningful way. Each reader will also examine their own hearts and spiritual journeys as they recognize aspects of themselves in the narrative.
makes you read fast,to see what happens next and why
If you liked the book/movie, the shack, you will enjoy this book.
Instructional in the Lord as well as entertaining. I usually figure out mysteries early on but not this time!
Caused me to look closer my walk with Jesus.
