ZoeyTurning thirty is overrated. Who said you had to be married with a fabulous career and three kids? I had a great life. Single, freedom to do whatever I please, and best of all, stay home on a Friday night in my sweats, eating pizza while listening to the best of the ’80s. I’m fine.DrewWhen a woman says she’s fine, she’s not fine. Zoey had it all. Stunning looks, ambition, the whole package. … looks, ambition, the whole package. Then he fucked her up. He broke her.
And now I’m left picking up the pieces…again.
Zoey Richards, strong-willed and driven, settled on the geeky struggling med student to share her apartment with, not the perfect-in-every-way stud who would just distract her and undoubtedly break her heart.
When her ex comes back into the picture, Zoey seeks revenge and enlists her roommate’s help. All Zoey and Drew need to do is pretend to be a couple for one night. But one night can change everything. Refusing to break their “roomie code,” and in an effort to deny their feelings for each other, a war erupts between Zoey and Drew.
She lives in the past; he, for the future. If opposites attract, will these two gamble their friendship for a chance at love?

Drew and Zoey have been roommates for the last four years. They have been there for each other through thick and thin and are best friends. When Zoey asks Drew to pretend to be her boyfriend to get revenge against her ex, the course of their relationship changes.
This is a very witty read and I found myself laughing out loud and snorting on a regular basis. It also has a serious bend to it that will have you feeling sad and anxious.
This book is part of a three book series.
I will now never forget that gold pineapples are good luck! Cute book- easy read
*5 Stars*
I’m a sucker for Room Mate books, and I absolutely loved this one. Zoey and Drew are room mates who have a really wonderful friendship and when things started to change in their minds I was really excited to see how their story would play out.
It certainly didn’t go the way I expected, but I loved every second of their story, even if it was frustrating as all get out at times. I would’ve liked a little bit more of them, BUT there are two books after this, so that’s going to give me my fix of their story which will be great. I will be diving into the next book today, can’t wait!
The dynamic between these two is very interesting, given that they’re two totally different people. Zoey is stuck in a rut, and Drew just doesn’t realise whats in front of him. And they do not communicate well about their feelings towards each other. Which all leads to the surprising way the story goes at the end.
Can’t wait to read more of these two, bring on book two!
Enjoyed the series! Light reads
I liked both the main characters and could understand their attraction and why they wouldn’t act on it initially, but there was no “war” and for them to be best friends and roommates, it seemed weird that they weren’t honest with each other
This collection of my favourite two books Roomie Wars and Wedding Wars with a bonus of new book Baby Wars.
Roomie Wars – Zoey freaking fantastic, with her roomie Drew. This book follows thier relationship. Zoey loves 80s, pineapple and pizza. You follow her mishaps in dating. This book hilarious.
Wedding Wars – Zoey and Drew this book is about thier evolving relationship. The engagement….. Pizza and pineapple… bridezilla, wedding stress. But , funny tid bits from Zoey
Baby wars – Zoey is freaking out with upcoming motherhood and Drew is working hard and trying to keep working life balance. Then you find out your not having one baby but two. It was amazing wrap up of this couple. Just because they are my favourite I didn’t want it to end… Like my obsession with Gilmore girls. This is a series I’ll re-read, there aren’t many book’s I’ll re-read!!!
Talk about a slow … Roomie Wars was a hilarious mix of one liners, 80’s references & whole lotta… Will they? Won’t they? This was my first read from Kat. T. Masen but it will most definitely not be my last!
Review of ROOMIE WARS by KAT T. MASEN
***** 5 Stars ***** but seriously, ********** 10 Stars would be more accurate!
This review was done on behalf of CLiK Book Blog.
Roomie Wars is the story of Zoey Richards and Andrew Baldwin.
Zoey is in a predicament and has to get a new roommate, so after an exhaustive search, interviewing every crazy and loser around and passing on the far too libido teasing hot guy, she settles for the slightly chubby, glasses wearing, Sponge Bob shirt wearing, med student, Andrew Baldwin (Not related to Alec, Stephen, Daniel, and what’s the name of the one that no one remembers – Billy!”)
They set some Roomie Rules and boundaries and their lives seem simple and settled but Zoey’s poor choices in men are the bane of Andrew (Drew’s) existence. They go from drama to drama, hilariously at times but through it all, their bond as friends never falters.
With scattered eighties references that we can all have a laugh about (sadly having lived with fleuro clothes and leg warmers) and wonderful music references of the time, my youth was reborn at the hand of the wonderful Kat T Masen and her writing.
How could you not love Zoey and Drew.
Their story is just honest, real and touches something in all of us who have lived through the eighties and nineties! Who have shared their abode with a Roomie!
No spoilers but OMG, Why aren’t you all reading this funny, irreverent, touching, sexy, sweet, sinfully brilliant piece of writing.
I’m just off to dry my eyes! Tears of laughter, joy, happiness and grief.. Every emotion, touched in the best literary way!
Thank you Kat T Masen for the wonderful story of Zoey and Drew and for giving me the opportunity to read and review for you.
BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Life has a habit of putting you in the right place at the right time. Zoey and Drew become Roomie friends, but all!l of that can change in an instant and what you once saw in each other changes. I enjoyed the journey of self discovery and love. I laughed, and cried reading this story. Can’t wait to continue the journey.
There are some funny moments In this book, I found myself laughing and crying as I read. I enjoyed the characters in this book especially Gigi and her bohemian ways. A lighthearted, easy book to read.
Zoey is almost thirty years old and lives with her best friend/roomie Drew. He had a front row seat to watch her relationship disintegrate after catching Jess cheating. She not only lost the twelve months they were together but she lost her confidence. Staying in, watching reruns and eating pizza become normal to her. Meanwhile Drew goes from a geek into being obsessed with the gym and healthy eating. He also has a revolving door of women stay over using Zoey to help move them along the next morning. When Zoey is faced with a dilemma she turns to Drew for help. He would never turn her down but his decision to agree has consequences that they may not recover from.
Roomie Wars what a fantastic book, I absolutely loved everything about it, it was so entertaining I just didn’t want to put it down and it was the exact book I needed to read.
Drew was such an awesome character; I loved the way Kat T. Masen wrote this character. It was how I feel males are, how they act and how they think. He was entertaining and I loved how he didn’t start the book as your hot male character straight away.
Zoey was a great character to read, she was funny, lovable, and again she was just your typical female and Kat really captured how a women thinks and how we all go through the, let’s sit on the couch and eat and watch tv (I think I am still going through that stage)
The connection between the two characters was intense and you could feel that pouring out the pages and they were so engaging I loved everything about these two, one of my favorite couples. The banter and bond these too had were so evident and I loved the way the author portrayed it
I loved how this book just kept you reading one minute it was yes they are going to get together, then there not and you just need to keep reading to see what happens and I love that it a book. I also loved how the 80’s were incorporated into this book I am a big music buff and really loved this side of the novel and made me connect so well to the book. The Pineapples as well were a fantastic inclusion and if it’s true about luck I am going out to get me some ha ha
This was such a fantastic book, if you’re looking to cry, laugh, want to punch your kindle and scream and talk sense into the characters then this is your book. Friends to lovers at its best
Cannot wait to get into their novella which comes out soon, I will be one clicking that little bugger no doubt about it.
“Compelling and funny”
Absolutely loved this romantic comedy from Kat T. Masen.
Zoey Richards and her roommate Drew Baldwin are best friends, and complete opposites. When Zoey is recovering from a broken heart after bad boy Jess destroys it, Drew is there to pick up the pieces. A notorious ladies man, Zoey is always left to make friends with his dates in the morning and sometimes get him out of trouble by rushing him out the door. The ultimate wingwoman.
But when Zoey hatches a plan to make her ex jealous using Drew, things go awry and feelings are changed. It makes their relationship hard, their friendship is in turmoil. The only problem is – lack of communication – but from either side they assume the worst of the other person.
Zoey is given a great job opportunity with her boss’s brother’s company overseas which comes at a time which is crucial for their friendship. Will Zoey stay for Drew or will she take the opportunity to find herself?
I loved this book. I was sucked in to this book.
Zoey needs a roommate after her last one ran off to live with her boyfriend. She’s decided that she’s going to have a guy roommate. No drama right lol. So after interviewing some guys one being a super hot guy, she goes with the geeky guy studying to be a doctor. Andrew Baldwin, not related to the Baldwins lol, is a nice guy who lost his mom young and never lived with a girl before.
4 years later, Zoey & Drew are perfect roommates, but in a idea gone wrong, Zoey & Drew might just break all the roomie rules.
Love this book so glad it was recommended to me. I was yelling at my tablet at them. The only thing that bugged me was the end, I waited the whole book for them to hook up. Then when it happened the book ended. I needed more of them together. But all in all I really enjoyed it.
Adorable and loveable characters with great plot.
