From the time I was a kid, I knew I wanted a job helping people. After serving in the Rifles regiment of the British Army, I focused my civilian career on becoming a bodyguard to the rich and famous. For a Cockney Brit, I never imagined a twist of fate landing me a position in the United States Secret Service and protecting the President’s son. But then my boss made an unexpected request: leave … leave my current placement to move in with his only daughter to give an added layer of protection against the threats she had been receiving. I’d never lived with a woman who was off-limits to me. It wasn’t just that Caroline had a boyfriend. She was my best friend’s sister, and my boss’s daughter. But the longer we’re in such close quarters together, the greater the temptation grows, but I know I’ll lose everything if I pursue her.
Growing up as the only girl with two overbearing older brothers, I’m no stranger to being overprotected. Just as I finished up college and prepared to truly dip my toes into the adult world, my father was elected President of the United States, which added a whole new level of protection with the Secret Service team attached to me. Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly be more smothered, I began receiving threats, and my family decided it wasn’t enough to just have an agent living down the hall from me. Nope, I was to have one move in with me, and not just any agent, but Ty Frasier—my brother, Barrett’s best friend, and my brother, Ty’s, head agent. While most women would enjoy living with a sexy, buff Brit, having a roommate threw a wrench into all my plans. Especially when I began noticing Ty was so much more than a hot guy—he was someone I could fall for.

Katie Ashley at her best with this sexy contemporary romance!
An inspirational page turning romantic story that will leave you smiling at the end. Highly recommend!
“He was like James Bond on steroids in his tux. I was used to the suit porn he sported on a daily basis, but man, there was something about the fit of the black tux that made me all warm and tingly.”
When Caroline started complaining about having Ty as a roommate it crossed my mind to suggest a psych evaluation. I mean seriously, who would refuse 24/7 eye candy, right? But, I have to give her credit, she’s not stuck up and bossy like you’d think a first daughter would be, she’s got a big heart and she’s not blind. She did eventually come to her senses and learn to appreciate the gift she had been given.
I really enjoyed the banter between Caroline and Ty. While they both had a job to do, they were considerate of each other’s feelings. It was very entertaining to see how far she could push him. He was badass in every way except how he treated her. The fact that he was a Brit made it quite amusing when it came to slang and American things that seemed strange to him. He considered her boyfriend a ‘wanker’ and calling the Piggly Wiggly grocery store the ‘Psychotic Pig’ cracked me up.
I loved the excitement of the forbidden aspect of this story. I wanted them to hook up, but at the same time, I was afraid for them to do so. The chemistry between them was undeniable, but they denied it as long as possible. I wanted to throw a lit match at them just to speed it up. I had no doubt the BOOM was coming, but I was impatient for it to happen NOW!
And then, to amp up the excitement, there is a threat against her that has him determined to keep her safe. While he’s questioning his ability to keep her safe from himself the real danger escalates. And let’s not forget that her father, the President, and her two brothers could be a threat to his own personal safety if they found out he was lusting after her.
From the White House to hot yoga Room Mate is a trip that you want to take, trust me. The line forms here…
Ohhhh what a swoony story!! I loved these two characters.
We watch as Ty and Caroline move in with each other. Her as his target and him as her secret service agent. What neither of them expected that living together would cause feelings to surface and for a true love to be born.
With a crazy stalker in the loose Ty doesn’t want to begin a relationship with Caroline but his feelings are just too strong. We read as these two figure things out while trying to be vigilant.
This is a must read story one for any romance lover.
Highly recommended.
Awesome Polical romance.
I am on this sexy brit reads right now and this one sexy Secret Service is at the top of my charts. Ty is asked by what he considers a close friend, who also happens to be the president’s son, to protect their sister.
What I loved about Caroline is that she is fierce and not afraid to push others to tell her the truth. She also has this huge heart and at times carry’s the world’s burdens. But when she is with Ty she feels safe, she feels strong and she feels things she hasn’t felt before.

Swoon!
I’m sorry not sorry! The blurb had me at British Secret Service agent. My lust amped up to ridiculous levels. British means panty melting accent. Secret Service agent means no slouch. I mean they have to be fit and could throw a girl around the bedroom, right!?!
So yeah, I was sold instantly. Then I see older brother’s best friend…another fave. Roommates …um, yeah! Clearly this book has tension, lust, and British accent! (I feel like maybe you aren’t hearing enough emphasis on hot British accent.)
Room Mate was sexy, sweet, and deliciously tense. I had fun and let Ty get the job done- I totally snickered at my lame rhyme. Pardon the 13 year old inner boy but he totally gets the job done! Wink, wink, elbow, elbow.
Another amazing read by Katie Ashley. I just love how she writes her stories. They are always unputdownable 🙂 🙂
This was a perfect mix of swoon, angst and feels. Both characters were likable and I loved how protective Ty was of Caroline.
Oh, and a mention of certain Ethan Blackstone <3 <3 <3 Perfection!
An absolutely fabulous addition to this series! I have been wanting Ty’s story since the beginning, and the author did a wonderful job pairing him with his equal. Getting glimpses of the other Callahan crew was an added bonus.
This is Ty and Caroline’s story and it they are great together. I love this series and I’m so glad that they finally get their story. This is a must read!
I have been counting down until I could read Ty…. let me just say I was not disappointed! Ty is simply swoon worthy! The internal dialogue the author portrays is so freaking hilarious. I once again found myself laughing out loud while I was reading.
Thank you for this great book. The epilogue was perfect
Sometimes you can’t help who you are attracted to and being thrown together in close quarters can only add fuel to that attraction. Really enjoyed Caroline and Ty’s story.
Without a doubt this book had me snort laughing so much my hubby had to ask me whats so funny lol!
I was riveted from start to finish with Caroline and Ty’s story!
I think being the First Daughter of the President has to be a difficult thing but Caroline is an incredible character who isn’t afraid to speak her mind, especially when shes had a few drinks! Lol!! She definitely has a sassy side!!
Ty…What can I say that will convey my feelings on her Secret Agent Bodyguard! Selfless, so dedicated to his job and he has a huge…..heart!! You thought I was going somewhere else am I right???!!! Well you definitely need to read this book! Although it is the third book in the series it can most definitely be read as a stand-alone!!
What I loved about this story was the element of suspense, the witty banter, the real sense of family and friendships and the beautiful love story that will cause your heart to explode!! Sizzling chemistry abounds as well!!
This book is a real credit to the authors talent of writing a riveting and steamy story! Absolutely loved it so much!
5 Stars
Man, I want a roomie like Ty! Tall, dark, and British? Yes, please! I loved him in Office Mate and wanted more from him. Well, Katie Ashley delivered just that in Room Mate. Ty Fraser has been in the Secret Service for a few years now, and has guarded Barrett Callahan, and more recently, Thorn Callahan. So, when the President of the United States trusts you and asks you to protect his only daughter, you don’t say no. Only this time, he won’t just be guarding her when she’s out, he’ll be her new roommate.
Caroline Callahan is more than ready to move to West Virginia and start her new career, but fate in the form of a stalker, has thrown a wrench in her plans. Caroline is so strong and determined not to let this stalker derail her plans.
Caroline and Ty have such intense chemistry and I loved their slow build. The developing friendship, learning to live with each other, and then finally, watching their love blossom was so refreshing. Room Mate is a sweet and sexy read, and to make it even more fun, a little suspense thrown in. Another great addition to this series.
Angela – Alphas Do It Better Book Blog
This was so good and the first book I have read by this author but definitely not the last! Caroline Callahan is the first daughter and setting off on a new career but she has a serious security threat and so her father, The President, has assigned Ty Fraser as her lead security member and her new room mate. Ty has protected both of her brothers and is considered practically a member of the family by all but this information does not go over too good with Caroline. Let me say, it was refreshing how down to earth Caroline and all the Callahan family was. There was nothing stuffy about them and watching Caroline and Ty circle and figure out how to live together was funny and touching and adding in the element of suspense with the stalker kept this story moving right along. I may have to go back and read Thorn and Barrett’s books now!
**I was gifted this book in a contest and really glad I was or I may not have stumbled across it**
3.5 Stars
Continuation of the Callahan’s story. Can be read as a standalone, although the characters from Running Mate and Office Mate are important to Roommate.
Drama, sexy time, likeable characters….all the ingredients for a enjoyable book. And Roommate does not disappoint.
Recommended for anyone looking for a book that isn’t over the top, but just right with all its elements.

We finally get Caroline’s story!!!
I thought Room Mate was an entertaining romance.
It’s a forbidden love story between the president’s daughter and her secret service agent. If you like a book that has some angst and humor with an added element of suspense to it, then you will really enjoy Room Mate by Katie Ashley.
Room Mate is a standalone novel and told in Dual POV. This book follows the story of the youngest Callahan Sibling. Running Mate and Office Mate are the first two books in this collection, but I don’t believe they have to be read first. Now if you are like me at all, you will read the other books first because we do meet Caroline and Ty in the first two books, and you will get to know their characters better by reading all three books. But it isn’t necessary.
In this book we follow Caroline and Ty’s journey to HEA. As I said Caroline is the youngest sibling and only daughter. Ty is the secret service agent assigned to her, but Ty is more like family since he has also been assigned to Barrett and Thorn. Caroline is kind of the child who likes to do things her way, so when the President starts receiving threatening mail about Caroline, he is determined to protect her at all costs. Caroline has just graduated from College and is moving to take over her mother’s non – profit organization. So the President assigns Ty to move in with her to make sure she is safe at all times. Will these two cross those lines that shouldn’t be crossed?? What happens when danger gets to close?? Can they get their HEA?? Read this story to find out.
I loved that Katie put the element of suspense into this story but still was able to make it feel like a Romantic Comedy. You will laugh while reading the banter between Ty and Caroline but the “Who’s the Creeper?” question will keep you turning the pages.
So if you are in the mood for a lighthearted forbidden romance that will keep you guessing until all is revealed, then you will want to give Room Mate a chance!!
Room Mate is book 3 in the series of stand-alones set around the family of the US President.
I loved everything about this book, the swoon worthy Ty was everything I would expect from a secret service agent assigned to look after the President’s daughter and what can I say about Caroline apart from she is a woman who knows her own mind she knows what she wants and being the President’s daughter will not stop her making her mark in the world. The banter between Ty and Caroline was witty funny and just perfect. I adore this family which consists of 2 overprotective brothers, a father who only wants what’s best for his family and a daughter who wants to do her job without all the hype that goes with being the daughter of the US President. The chemistry between Ty and Caroline is sizzling but he is with her to protect her not sleep with her… problem is once Caroline falls for him will he cross the line and not only put his job on the line will he be prepared to put his friendship with her older brother on the line ……. guess you need to read the book to find that out.
A wonderful romance with plenty of laugh out moments, some seriously hot moments and characters you will certainly fall in love with. A must read for lovers of romance and romantic comedies.
Cheesy, fun, sexy and so very delightful, this author writes wonderful stories about the heart. You want to meet the characters in her stories, get to befriend them and live in their world. She writes characters with honor and values, even if they’re a little crazy (like Barrett) or very serious (like Thorn), they are all likable and friendly.
In this installment of the Callahan siblings, Caroline, the youngest and only daughter of Presiden Callahan, is being targeted by a stalker. The stalker has sent several menacing letters and emails promising bodily harm, and has shown to be able to get very close to her, even with her Secret Service detail. So the Callahan men decide to assign her a bodyguard that will live with her in her new apartment when she starts her new job.
Ty Frasier used to be Barrett’s bodyguard, then he changed to being Thorn’s bodyguard, and now he’s assigned to Caroline. Caroline has no choice but to accept this intromission into her private life when she’s made to understand the seriousness of the situation. She has known Ty for years when he worked with her brothers and has little problem getting her boyfriend to accept her new room mate. However, as the days go by, her boyfriends snobbishness and elitist behavior appear very ugly and petty compared to Ty’s professionalism, courtesy and consideration. After one memorable accident, where Caroline entered the bathroom and caught Ty leaving the shower and got to see him in all his naked glory, she had a hard time remembering why she liked Perry (the douche boyfriend) so much.
This book was a little predictable but very entertaining. There was the danger of the stalker but there was not a lot of suspense. I liked reading about the surveillance of the agents and the sexual tension between Ty and Caroline, plus the banter between the siblings and their partners. The view into the White House living was intriguing. It was entertaining, warm-hearted and lovely to read.
