From the time I was a kid, I knew I wanted a job helping people. After serving in the Rifles regiment of the British Army, I focused my civilian career on becoming a bodyguard to the rich and famous. For a Cockney Brit, I never imagined a twist of fate landing me a position in the United States Secret Service and protecting the President’s son. But then my boss made an unexpected request: leave … leave my current placement to move in with his only daughter to give an added layer of protection against the threats she had been receiving. I’d never lived with a woman who was off-limits to me. It wasn’t just that Caroline had a boyfriend. She was my best friend’s sister, and my boss’s daughter. But the longer we’re in such close quarters together, the greater the temptation grows, but I know I’ll lose everything if I pursue her.
Growing up as the only girl with two overbearing older brothers, I’m no stranger to being overprotected. Just as I finished up college and prepared to truly dip my toes into the adult world, my father was elected President of the United States, which added a whole new level of protection with the Secret Service team attached to me. Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly be more smothered, I began receiving threats, and my family decided it wasn’t enough to just have an agent living down the hall from me. Nope, I was to have one move in with me, and not just any agent, but Ty Frasier—my brother, Barrett’s best friend, and my brother, Ty’s, head agent. While most women would enjoy living with a sexy, buff Brit, having a roommate threw a wrench into all my plans. Especially when I began noticing Ty was so much more than a hot guy—he was someone I could fall for.

Caroline was the only daughter of the president. Despite the fact that they didn’t grow up with a silver spoon in their mouths, they had to adhere with the security measures that comes with the fact that their father is the leader of the free world. She was used to overbearing brothers, and just getting used to her Secret Service team when a threat comes in again, just when she was thinking she could have a bit of normal and freedom being away from her family. She ended up with a hot secret service for a room mate. This could be more dangerous for her heart – because Ty wasn’t just a double threat, he was a triple threat: he’s hot, he reads, he can cook and he has a British accent.
Ty Frasier just wanted to help people. That’s why he joined the British Army, and then ended up with a stint as a Secret Service Agent with both Thorn and Barrett who both ended up as really great friends. They were safe. But Caroline was another story. He wasn’t used to a girl roomie, never had them before. But she has a boyfriend, so she’s off limits. But the longer they spent time together, the attraction just gets stronger. So what happens when Caroline was finally single? Will he take the move?
Both characters are just easy to love. Caroline, despite the fact that she was the president’s daughter is very down to earth and kind to everyone. She was loyal to Perry when they were together and didn’t act on the attraction she had with Ty. I love her character, she’s strong, determined and brave. Ty, omg. He’s a charmer. I’d like one of him for Christmas. He’s someone you’d be lucky to have to. He’s a total gentleman, and someone that would take a bullet for you.
I am still in love with Caroline’s family. They’re the most amazing people there is. So down to earth and just wants the best for their children.
Room Mate is easy, sweet, filled with swoony characters and sexy read. I enjoyed reading this book not just because of old, familiar characters that I knew once, but Room Mate made me laugh and squirm at the same time. Total must-read and just perfect for the holidays!
Ty is a secret service agent working for the Callahan family. He is assigned to protect Caroline, the President’s daughter. Caroline has plans for a new career and isn’t thrilled about a new room mate. These two had witty banter and were meant for each other. I enjoyed reading about this couple.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving a review.
Slow Burn your little heart out with Caroline and Ty in this newest installment to this series that just frankly keeps getting better. Caroline could be your run of the mill Trust fund baby with not much on her mind other than shopping and landing her MRS’ ASAP, but this first daughter has loftier aspirations. She really is looking forward to working at the Literat Non-Profit her mother started, starting a new and exciting life in Charlestown and spreading her wings a little. However the realities of being so in the public eye bring her dreams to crashing halt when apparently some deranged psycho has made her his Jodie Foster. Now she is going to have a new body on her guard and hers basically going to be a second shadow for her. Ty while a lovely chap isn’t what she had pictured in a new flatmate and bosom buddy, but it appears she had little choice. Ty isn’t anything but grateful and appreciative of the Callaghan’s and would do anything to protect anyone of them, but he never imagined his newest assignment after Thorn would be guarding Ms. Caroline. She is headstrong, brave, true, and bugger it all lovely, delightful, and just the sort of damsel he has a penchant for falling for. With chemistry brewing and an unknown threat a foot this book will keep you flip flop flipping till the very end.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book
Who knew politics could be so exciting. I know people say they will take a bullet but not everyone actually means it. Ty was a triple threat and once he became her room mate Caroline saw that up close and personal. There was humor as well as serious situations. I couldn’t help but read Tys words with a British accent lol. I loved Carolines strength and determination. They are a perfect combination and once again Katie has given us a great source of entertainment.
Room Mate is a standalone novel by Katie Ashley. I have been a reader of her books since I started my blog almost six year ago. All of her novels have a different feel to them which I enjoy. It’s like a new piece of Katie each time she publishes.
In the Room Mate we have two characters, Ty and Caroline. Ty is a Secret Service agent sworn to protect the President and his family. Caroline happens to be the President’s daughter. There’s a serious threat against her and Ty is the best agent to protect her.
In order to protect her to the fullest Ty must move in with Caroline in her new apartment. This is where it becomes interesting. You learn the quirks of the other people you live with. What could possibly be a turn off is more like a turn on for these two.
I enjoyed reading their love story. These two tried to stay as professional as possible…until they couldn’t. Caroline and Ty have a lot to answer for but you’ll be rooting for them as a couple, for sure.
When POTUS says you need extra protection because you have a stalker no one dares to say no. Caroline loves her Dad but living in her new West Virginia apartment with a Secret Service Agent who is a Greek God made man is going to be tricky!
She is independent and he is overprotective, yet somehow, they become friends. Living together is not easy… especially when you have to share a shower! This is when rules come in handy. So whoever said rules were made to be broken?
Amazing suspenseful and romantic story which will leave you smiling!
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
I want to start off with saying I did NOT read either of the other books in this series. With that said I don’t feel where I really missed anything. Katie did a wonderful job making sure we had the information we needed to be able to enjoy this as a stand alone.
Ty and Caroline’s story is something no one expected, especially them! I loved it. Great world and character building. I recommend this read!
3.75 stars–ROOM MATE is the third instalment in Katie Ashley’s contemporary, adult, erotic, romance series focusing on the Callahan siblings, the children of American President James Callahan. This is twenty-nine year old, former British Army soldier, and current Secret Service Agent Ty Frasier, and twenty-five year old, author Caroline Callahan’s story line. ROOM MATE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Ty and Caroline) ROOM MATE follows the building relationship between twenty-nine year old, Secret Service Agent Ty Frasier, and twenty-five year old, author Caroline Callahan. Following a series of threatening letters and emails directed at the President’s only daughter, Caroline Callahan, about to embark on a new career, found herself with a new room mate in the guise of Secret Service Agent Ty Frasier, a man who stirred something deep within our story line heroine. Currently in a relationship with someone else, Caroline struggled with her attraction to a man hired to protect her with his life but an attraction that would grow when the two were forced together for our heroine’s protection. As the threats against Caroline continued, Ty’s relationship with Caroline would become more personal and private, until the attraction between one another could no longer be ignored. What ensues is the slow building relationship between Ty and Caroline, and the potential fall-out as Caroline’s stalker gets up close and personal with our leading couple.
The relationship between Ty and Caroline begins as an assignment. Caroline was about to start a new job, out of town, but the threats against her life had grown more insidious and dark. Having previously shadowed both of Caroline’s brothers, Ty was the perfect guardian for out story line heroine, and it didn’t hurt that Ty was the epitome of brooding, sexy, alpha male. Weeks together and 24/7 in one another’s company meant plenty of time to discover what made the other one tick. The $ex scenes intimate, erotic and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
All of the previous story line couples and characters play secondary and supporting roles including Barrett and Addison (Running Mate), Thorn and Isabel (Office Mate), as well as President James Callahan and his wife Jane. We are introduced to Caroline’s best friend and former room mate Selah McCallister.
ROOM MATE is an energetic and inviting story of family, friendship, understanding and love. The premise is engaging; the romance is seductive and captivating; the characters are sexy, sassy and animated.
I loved this book. The romance was slow building, but there was a lot of steam leading up to it. It is part of a series. I would suggest reading the others, but you sure can jump right into this one if you wish. I just loved Ty’s character. Caroline’s character was perfect for her role of the President’s daughter. The book just flowed. Dual point of view. No cliffhanger.
I have been so excited about Ty’s book since I met him in Running Mate, and I could not think of a better heroine for him than Caroline.
Caroline is adjusting to becoming an adult with responsibilities as well as having a more intense security detail. She is very outgoing and independent. She doesn’t understand the need for her new roommate until circumstances are explained.
Ty is very committed to his job and is willing to do anything to protect his targets. He has been with the Callihan family for years and feels like he is part of the family.
This relationship develops gradually and they truly become friends first. The chemistry between them is so heightened because of the forbidden aspect. They know they shouldn’t like each other, but they can’t help it.
This was such an amazing read and I have absolutely loved this series. So why the 4 stars??? I honestly felt like some of the scenes were rushed and didn’t match up with Katie’s usually writing. It was almost like they were thrown in quickly at the end.
Overall, it was a great book, and I can’t wait to read more of Katie’s work!

Caroline & Ty ….Secret Service Agent , Daughter of the President , Room Mates ! Let me get cozy and dive into this one !
I literally enjoyed every part of this book. The friendship, comradery, loyalty, buildup and steam! What happens when you think that knew what you wanted in life and thought that you had it?
Caroline is a smart, sassy, independent woman that has just taken over her mother’s charities and became an children’s author. She also happens to be the President’s daughter and has now had her independence taken away by a stalker. SO Ty is being assigned to her and oh my is he easy on the eyes but lets keep this professional now!
Ty has serviced the Presidential family in one capacity or another. He has become the friend , confidant and protected the sons for years. Finding out that he is being temporarily reassigned to guard Caroline. Always the professional but this could get complicated !!!
Loved it!!

Room Mate is the latest book by Katie Ashley about the Callahan family. This is Caroline and Ty’s story. It absolutely can be read as a standalone book. How do I know? Because I neglected to read the first two books and had NO problems keeping up with the plot, or with who was who in the story.
The last couple of books I’ve read recently were a bit disappointing because there was a lot of sex scenes but very little to the plots. And based on the cover of this book, and admittedly a teaser, I was a bit wary to read this. I thought I was going to be reading more of the same, and that truly did worry me before I dove in. BUT…I’ve read some of Ms. Ashley’s books in the past and really enjoyed them. They had great plots, great characters, and great worlds…and a few sex scenes…but not so many that you wondered when the characters had time to eat, sleep, or work. I mean, I do enjoy a few sexy times, but let’s be a little more realistic here. The characters have to have lives outside of the bedroom!! So, I decided to give this book a try. And it absolutely surprised me in the best way possible! Ty and Caroline have two very different upbringings. He’s from a working-class family, and she’s from a wealthy family, and her father is now the President of the US. He’s protecting her from a stalker. But somehow they fall for each other and they just work. She’s not a pretentious snob, and he’s not a doormat. So even though she would seemingly have the power in this relationship, it’s a true partnership full of mutual respect for the other as a person.
I loved the plot of this book. My most favorite subgenre of contemporary romance is romantic suspense, and this book provided great suspense, as well. There was so much more to each character than I was expecting, too. (I guess I had been a little more jaded than I thought over the most previous books I’ve read!) And I had a hard time putting Room Mate down so I could sleep once I jumped into it with both feet. It’s DEFINITELY a winner if I want to read more than I want to sleep!
NICUnurse’s Rating: Ms. Ashley has without a doubt reminded me why I enjoyed her previous books so much, and I’ll be diving into the first two books in this series as soon as I can! I give this book a solid 5 out of 5 stars!
We have met The Callahan Sons , but now we are meeting Caroline Callahan the only daughter of The President Of The United States.
Caroline is a young woman starting her career as the head of Read 4 Life Literacy Program but what she finds out is she’s not going alone she’s about to have company with her in Secret Service Member Ty Fraser.
Ty Fraser is a loyal Agent to the Callahan family, he has protected Barrett & Thorn but when the President asks you personally to protect his daughter you can not say no.
The banter between Ty & Caroline is hysterically funny but the sexual tension is off the charts HOT. They will have some moments that will get tense and you will see where the protection is needed but you will also see the relationship that is developing as they spend more time together and it’s fun to watch.
All in all you will want them to find that happiness that every couple is looking for.
4.5 Stars!
I really enjoyed this breathtaking and steamy forbidden romance! Ty has been a close friend and protector of the Callahan clan for a long time. He has proven himself over and over that he is smart, honorable, and dedicated. After serving as a secret service agent for both his sons, President Callahan talks Ty into protecting his daughter, Caroline, knowing he can depend on him to keep her safe. Caroline Callahan is starting a new job and is unaware of the threats against her life. She is not happy to have a new roommate imposed on her. After a rocky start, they soon learn to appreciate and trust each other. Soon their simmering attraction grows, making it impossible to deny their feelings. But Ty doesn’t feel worthy of Caroline, keeping her at arms length. When the threat against Caroline escalates, the boundaries between them soon disappear. I really enjoyed this breathtaking, and steamy romance. Sexy Brit Ty was kind, thoughtful, supportive and so swoony! He not only protected Caroline but he encouraged her to be her best. Caroline was so strong, smart, and down to earth. They were so perfect for each other, always putting others first. I loved their banter and the way they challenged each other, and their chemistry was palpable. It was fun catching up with the Callahan clan too. I loved the epilogue, it was so sweet and perfect! I had so much fun reading this thrilling, heartfelt, steamy story. It was the perfect addition to this series.
This is another Katie Ashley classic, she is the queen of writing witty, sexy, and funny romances and this is no exception, with a little intrigue thrown in for good measure. Ty is a Secret Service Agent and Caroline is the President’s daughter and they are forced together as room mates for Caroline’s protection.
Ty is so sexy, strong, and caring…he really is the whole package. Caroline is strong, down to earth, and vulnerable at times. Together they light up the pages of this book with their chemistry, but I loved their humor just as much.
Also, intertwined in the story is a varied cast of supporting characters (many you may recognize from Running Mate and Office Mate) who really enhance the story. I really loved this book, so if you are looking for a well written, sexy read this is the book for you. Advanced copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
ARC received for an honest review
Now, the princess/president’s daughter etc falling for their security man is not a new story – however it is one that I will always pick up and read.
I have been waiting for Caroline’s story since I started reading this series. I knew, that with 2 protective brothers and the president for her father that she was going to have her struggles.
I love love love that she (nor her brothers) are spoiled little rich kids, riding on their father’s coat tails.
I adore that she has her own life and career, and despite her family, she speaks her mind and lets them all know what she is thinking.
And hellooooooo sexy secret service man! Ty is sweet and wonderful and oh. so. sexy. I mean, you can’t blame a girl for falling for him, as I did right along with Caroline.
There is sexual tension up the wazoo with our lovelies *fans self* along with plenty of witty banter and just all together wonderfulness. This pair are definitely my favourite couple in this series.
I loved getting to see where Barrett and Thorn and their ladies are at, and the guys over protectiveness of Caroline is both sweet and terrifying lol. I want them to be my brothers.
I really have enjoyed the Running Mates series, and I am looking forward to what Ms Ashley brings us next.
4.5+ stars…
Caroline Callahan was just about ready to start her new career and new life in a new place. She had it all planned out…until her plans were changed due to circumstances out of her control.
Ty Fraser has been friend and bodyguard to both of her older brothers, Barrett and Thorn. He is honorable, dependable, and vigilant. And now he is being asked to take on Caroline’s security due to a threat. That means not only following her to Virginia, but they want him to have full access…as in living with her.
The stubborn spitfire Caroline is not happy and she does not think her boyfriend will be either. Ty is not that pleased himself. But sometimes you have to do what you have to do…and Ty will do just about anything for the Callahans.
But being roomies takes some adjustment, and dealing with the threat is more challenging than they hoped. Close quarters, sexual tension, escalating emotions, and fear add to the confusion and conflict.
They both know they should be off limits due to circumstances. He tries to be the stoic Secret Service Agent, but his body seems to want to overrule his mind. And Caroline’s life is going through both positive and negative changes at the same time and she is just trying to keep it all together while keeping her hands off her sexy bodyguard.
But eventually all of the tension, sexual and otherwise, is going to come to a boil and possibly explode. What will be the fall out as they navigate the changes and the danger still lurking around Caroline?
This is a sexy, fun, and swoony best-friend’s-sister/room mates/forbidden love story. Even though this works fine as a stand-alone, I enjoyed getting more with the other Callahans: Barrett, Addison, Thorn, and Isabel and the Presidential parents. I really liked both Ty and Caroline, and I thought they were perfect together despite their challenges. Ty was so strong, capable, heroic, hot, and swoonworthy. I loved seeing him start to come out of his strong facade and show more vulnerability and familiarity. And Caroline was sassy, smart, and real. I enjoyed their banter and chemistry. They were magic together!
I received this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
I really enjoyed Room Mate. Caroline and Ty were perfect for each other and I am so glad they got their HEA. This book had a lot of elements I love while reading. It was fun, sexy and had a little suspense to it. I also love the updates from the other characters in the previous books. The Epilogue was heartwarming and had me smiling for them.
I need a room mate like Ty.
I enjoyed this book. I m was dying for more of the Callahan’s and Ty. Ty has been part of the secret service and security team for the Callahan’s for years. He has been with Barrett Thorn and Caroline. With the threat being bad against Caroline Ty was the best guy for the job and President knew he could trust his only daughter with him. He just didn’t thing that putting them together would end up then getting together. It wasn’t a easy ride for them both with Caroline’s stalker causing trouble there wasnt time for them for romance. She was he number one priority her safety had to come first. Even when the sexual tension was red hot they both kept it together. Even with Ty goin around shirtless showing of his hot body it was very difficult but they needed to be professional.
I would recommend this book the story was really good and both main characters are really good. I do wish that the characters got together a bit sooner. I felt that i didn’t get much of them together. It felt like they got together and then it was over. So I would of luvd more but I am greedy. They were just so suited. But overall I enjoyed it and getting more of them Callahan men make it even better. It’s a great series every book was been great.
What a fun book. The daughter of the President is a seriously down to earth girl. Her surprise Agent is one HOT man. Together they face the stalkers, breakups and goof-ups of life, all while falling in love. A very sweet love story, with a bit of action and some drama! Perfect for a rainy afternoon.
