Around my neck lays a wedding ring.In my right hand I hold a hotel room key.Which one do I pick? The marriage? The key?Everything is not as it seems in room one-forty-three
Room 143 is about 2 souls having the courage to believe in love and Laramie Briscoe wrote such a beautiful moving story about it.
We’re introduced to Nash who is a widower who runs his family garage and Caroline, an new transplant to the small town of Harper Valley. Nash’s backstory broke my heart and you will be needing tissues. Caroline was eager to start a new job but before that she thought of nothing when she agreed to do a favour for her bestfriend. I love Caroline for Nash, she is sweet and yet determined.
As usual Laramie Briscoe words flows beautifully throughout the page, there was no hesitation or backpedaling. Using descriptive and yet simple prose, L.B was able to tell the story of Nash and Caroline that will leave you with nothing but satisfaction when you put the book down.

Nash is a widower at a young age. Caroline is new to town and doing a favor for her best friend one night. After Nash’s brothers purchase him a night with an escort, he feels like it’s time to get back in the dating world. Caroline is helping out her best friend and taking her place for the night. When these two meet and interact for the first time, you can literally see the sparks flying between them.
Laramie Briscoe did an amazing job with this second chance romance that is like no other. She pulls at your heart when telling Nash’s story and the way that he has dealt with his heartbreak. Caroline has a fiery personality that just seems to fit with Nash and his brothers.
This was a wonderful book and right on par with the rest of Briscoe’s books.

Nash lost his wife and unborn child several years ago. He’s been living but he’s not alive. His family feels for him and wants him to try to get back in the land of the living.
The book is heartbreaking with how much loss Nash feels over losing his wife and child. Enter the new women and her strength and understanding had me in awe of her. This story is a true emotional roller coaster but in a really good way that makes you want to ride it repeatedly!

This was an emotional read that was a different take on a second chance romance. Nash and Caroline are extraordinary characters that meet under different circumstances. Their storyline was well written and their chemistry was off the charts. You could feel the emotions coming off the pages during their first encounter. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

What a beautiful story of love, loss and second chances. The way Nash griefs for his deceased wife just grips your heart and makes you hope to be loved this profoundly. The stars align for him and he meets Caroline, through some very unique circumstances she enters his life. What ensues is a beautiful journey of acceptance that will lead this couple to their HEA.

Laramie Briscoe books are filled with heart and soul! You will have the ups and downs, but somehow you make it through it just alright. Room 143 showed me a new side of Briscoe. One of learning how to go on in life when you heart has already bled dry. Nash was that guy. Starting over in a small town with trying to put the past behind and start a new. The heroine was amazing and I loved Caroline to pieces. I loved the emotions that rolled through me through the pages. I loved the aspect of finding love again. This second chance in life was clearly meant to be for Nash and Caroline. My heart was left happy when I got to the last word for Room 143.

Don’t let the blurb fool you – this book is low on angst but filled with two people who are looking for something or better yet someone to help them change their lives.
The fist encounter was funny, sexy and makes Nash believe that there is still hope for moving on. The way he was struggling with his desire, guilt and love for Caroline and the way she supported him along the way made this book that much special. They truly were match made in heaven.
Another great read by the amazing Laramie Briscoe.

Wow. I don’t think there is enough words to describe Room 143. The emotions that are in this book are out of this world. Nash will break your heart. But one night with a woman changes everything.
Laramie doesn’t disappoint in this one. Make sure to have the box of tissues handy is all I’m going to say.

Room 143 is not what the blurb leads you to believe this story could be about so please don’t let this deter you from picking up this book. This is a standalone by this author, but am hoping we get a story on the secondary characters. Love the last name thing they do for scoring-too funny! Leaving it at that to avoid spoilers and to allow you to chuckle with us. Nash has a big decision to make. Do you or don’t you enter is the question? There is no right or wrong when it comes to healing. Would I be mad at my siblings? Heck Yeah! But it was in good faith that they did this. Caroline you will adore and for whatever reason the stars aligned when you least expect it. Change is good, not always easy, but without setbacks there would be no change or lessons to learn from. Your heart will hurt, melt and heal all in one book. This was a beautiful story and that ending just should how right it was between these two when it comes to keeping memories alive. I highly recommend it. Love what the Room 134 also stands for!

Nash is a widower who is a shell of the man he used to be, and is just getting through the days one at a time. With an intervention from his brothers, he is handed a key to room 143. Caroline is new in town, and has a job as a bookkeeper at the garage Nash runs. No spoilers; this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed!! This is a beautifully written story which is heartbreaking, witty, emotional, and is a riveting 2nd chance romance. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I highly recommend this gifted authors’ work for all.

I wasn’t sure about this book from this author, kinda seemed a bit out of her norm, but holy did she ever knock this one out!
Loved everything about it, the story line the characters just all of it! I just wanted to grab Nash at the beginning of the book and give him a big hug, and Caroline is like the perfect match for him to bring out of his depression. I hope she does more standalones like this one.

This book was nothing like I was expecting. I read the blurb and knew I needed to read this story and it was everything I didn’t know I wanted. The characters are fantastic. They drew me to them from the start. The often conflicting thoughts, the need to move on, the want to stay in the past, the emotions, they all helped me to really connect with the characters.
This is a vague review but this is definitely a book that should be read knowing as little as possible. The less you know the more of an impact you’ll feel. I admit I was caught if guard. I wasn’t expecting the turn the story took, I made the mistake of going in thinking I knew what I was getting. What I did get was so much better. I adored these characters. They are so easy to like and relate to. Their story is heartbreaking, it’s emotional but it’s so sweet and touching that I was completely engrossed and I really didn’t want it to end.
This is one of my favourite books from Ms Briscoe and I definitely recommend it. If you’ve read the blurb and you’re half as intrigued as I was, READ IT! I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

WOW!! I absolutely loved Room 143. Here is a book that pulled at every emotion, I laughed, teared up, and of course got the warm fuzzies. Nash lost his wife and unborn child tragically in a car accident and years later his brothers are trying to help him move on by providing him an escort for a night, if he chooses to. One night with someone he doesnt know and would never see again to finally begin to live life again is maybe just what he needs. But with just the right circumstances can this one night and one woman will be a life changer written in the stars? I absolutely loved how this each piece played out at just the right time. I could hardly put it down I just had to keep going but at the same time I didnt want it to end.

What an amazingly beautiful story! It just flows wonderfully and it is a quick but awesome read.
I understood completely where Nash was coming from as a widower. It is hard to get back into the now and not keep holding onto what you lost. Also love his brothers so much! They give him the push he needs at the right time and it thankfully goes right but could have gone oh so wrong.
Our female lead is beautiful, understanding, kind and so loving. She has a strong head on her shoulders and knows what she wants.
Bailey is just the icing on the already delicious story cake that is within the cover of this read. We need more Baileys!

Simply adored this heartfelt romance. It was exactly sure what to expect when I started reading Room 143 as the reviews I saw told me this differed from Ms. Briscoe’s other book. But I love her writing style so I decided to give it a go. Believe me when I say, I am very glad I did. The storyline deals with powerful issues that will break your heart but the author has written it in such a fun, flirty, romantic way that it will end up melting into your soul.
Nash is a widower who lost his wife and unborn son in a car accident. She was his childhood sweetheart and only love. 5 years later he is still him a curve and a possible 2nd chance at life. Watching Nash deal with the pain, the guilt and the hope of moving forward was simply breathtaking. Especially with happy, upbeat Caroline who is also starting a new life in a new town with a new career. Their journey from page one of Room 143 to the very end is one I HIGHLY RECOMMEND traveling down. You won’t regret it.
2 Thumbs Up and 5 stars for this amazing read. And if I may add, I hope Ms. Briscoe writes more books in this vain as she truly did a remarkable job with Room 143.

This book was NOTHING like I was expecting and I LOVED it! Nash and Caroline were thrown together in a very unique way, only to discover their attraction was off the charts. Imagine their surprise at reconnecting days later in another surprising coincidence.
I cried for Nash and all that he lost. Caroline was sweet and understanding throughout everything. Room 143 completely stole my heart! I’m going to do my best to do it justice as this book is beyond phenomenal. Life hasn’t been a bed of roses for Caroline or Nash but it hasn’t made them bitter. Their appreciation for the other is in every word or gesture. The physical and emotional attraction between them permeates every moment they are together. Things that I expected to happen as they have in other books of this trope didn’t occur and I loved that! Laramie Briscoe just keeps raising the bar, every book I swear is her best until the next one is released. Her talent knows no bounds and I am beyond grateful that she shares these stories with us. Sweet, hot, vivid and consuming, Room 143 is a must read and one of the best books I have read this year!

Where is the damn box of tissues!?!?
You’ll need a box or ten nearby when you read Room 143. This book may have been a little more emotional for me since I recently lost my father a month ago. But Laramie did an absolute amazing job with this story and the characters.
Not everyone gets a second chance at life or love so grab it while you can and hold onto it.
