Forgive me Father for I have Sinned.TrueOh, how I’ve sinned and sinned. Even my brother’s pious meddling can’t undo the damage I’ve done. As VP of the Broken Bows MC I’m content to be the devious, dark and dangerous twin.
I love to cause mayhem.
I enjoy destruction.Truth though? I wish he was by my side. I’d do almost anything to pull him away from his flock and back to the darkness that I know … almost anything to pull him away from his flock and back to the darkness that I know resides within him.
Strike
I see their evil, their malice.
My sins.
My brother and the MC want me to return to the club, though it’s not my home. It never was. The church has nurtured me, settling my demons. When an attack occurs on the club their request becomes my undoing.
They use her.
She is my desire.
Scarlet is True’s though I covet her.
I’ve fought their pull like the taught string of the bow.
Like me, a single shot will ruin everything.
Read the novella that bridges the continuation of King to Pawn. (To be read between KING and PAWN)
more
This book is very dark it really should be read between King and Pawn! Now I understand how and why things happen between the two books!
Kayden’s a priest and Braken is this head of the MC Broken Arrows what a twisted messed up story!!
This book was right up my alley!!
No real opinion on the story right now.
I understood this book as a prequel to King and not as an intermezzo between King and Pawn. So I am a bit lost.
Excitingly told, very sensitively written, captivating, only something is missing …
My mistake 3,5
PS:
I started with the wrong book, this is not a prequel to The Broken Bows, it’s an intermezzo between KING and PAWN.
And it fits perfectly and makes sense and a really good story
Now 4,5
OMG Kerri is bringing it with this series! I could not put this one down until I finished it. It is a novella so it was short but damn did it pack a punch like no ones business.
Can you imagine two brothers with a father who is all about himself and his club. One brother chooses the Priesthood and the other chooses the club life. Then put in the mix a girl they both like. She is stuck in the middle of good and evil but the Priest will not let anything happen to her even though the bad son is going to try everything in his arsenal to bring down the good brother but what he doesn’t realize is that there is no way the good one is going to give in.
This is the story of Cain and Abel from the bible mixed with some serious club business! This series is a must read and I can’t wait for the next book!
Let’s get down to business… Lol. I’m loving this series and let me just say that I can’t stop.
Kerri Ann knows the drill, she created an amazing series and I can’t get enough of it… Oh boy…
Her writing is dark and intense… Jeez… Each scene…
Rook is the next book from the Broken Bows MC series and tells the stories of Bracken aka True and Strike aka Kyden. These two are identical twins but couldn’t be more different.
But I need to tell you something this book was previously published as Envy and it must be read after King.
True is an MC member and not a very good person. Let’s just say that I didn’t like him that much after reading King…
Kyden has a bunch of demons hunting him and that can leave its marks. His past is bringing him down and that can be a scary thing.
These two were supposed to be President and VP after their father, DG passes away but…
Jesus… I’m shocked… I’m speechless… What was that?
Amazing plot, super dark, engaging girls and wild. One minute I was reading and this king one thing goes and then boom, it changed.
I wasn’t expecting at all what happened. Let me just say that this series is getting quite interesting… To say the least.
Darkness will consume you if you don’t follow the light.
Jesus Kerri… That mind of yours is brilliant… Can’t wait to start reading Pawn.
He became a priest because of his darkness, the same way Bracken’s does with the need for mayhem. In his confession he says he tainted the soul of a priest reminding him what he’s hiding from, letting Kyden know, it’s time to come home.
Kyden fights the demons inside him, cutting himself, trying to get the darkness escape and letting the evil seed escape is a daily ritual for him.
His brother tries to use his one weakness against him to get what he wants, showing Kyden that the club still uses people as tools, he ran and keeps getting dragged back, Bracken knows how to push him, he wants Strike to come back.
After reading King I am not sure what I expected here but this surely wasn’t it. Broken Bows is in chaos and now needing his other half Breck makes a desperate attempt at bringing home his twin and things get worse. This book is action on crack and it starts from the first page. Trying to atone for his sins in the only way he knows how this priest is tortured, no matter how good he is for his parish. This is an intense story that the author pours her heart into and doesn’t give you a chance to relax. I loved it and can’t wait to get to book 3 to find out what happens next.
I gave this Book a rating of 5 ’s

>-< >–< >–< >–< >–<>–< >–< >–< >–< >–< >–< >–< >–< What I liked/Didn’t Like: Alrighty then. Whew that was a thrill of a ride. Up down and all around you will go as this book takes you on an unexpected ride that will leave you wanting more. Or at least it did me. Well written MC romance with some mystery thrown in as well. The characters really make the book fun to read.
Holy crap! Kerri Ann continues to astound me. In Rook, previously released as Envy, she has once again stepped out of her box, which has been expanding, and provided an amazing novella that showcases the struggles we all face of good versus evil. She also shows that it’s not always black and white.
This was an intense and dark read that left me hanging on the edge of my seat, taking me on a roller coaster ride, and I loved it. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
“Fuck you, the devil you rode in on, and the wings of the demon that bred us.”
Never in a million years would I have expected Kerri Ann to step out of her box and write something like this. This story was more than twists and turns for me. It was a roller coaster ride from start to finish with an ending I didn’t see coming, even with a little pre-warning. By the end I had been raised to the top off a free fall and let loose with no safety net to catch me. I want to kill for the story ending but then what would I have to look forward to then?
Rook aka previously published as Envy
I will say that after reading this story about True & Kyden’s story I was emotionally involved to the very end. This was such a heart wrenching tale to touch one’s heart.
True was another MC member that I despised from the very beginning of meeting him so his actions and misdeeds in this story were no big surprise to me.
All ready despising True’s character I didn’t think he could sink any lower .”He did!” Tormenting your brother who is a priest! Your a very sick man indeed….
Kyden was a character that your heart bleed for from the very beginning of the story,You understood the demons that he carried within. Before entering the Priesthood he was not a good man but, he choose to redeem himself and save his soul and along the way tried the best he could to save others that were just like him.
Poor Kyden was never able to out run his demons whether personally ones or family ones because his brother would never let him escape his past and my heart broke even more for him.
The story really gripped your emotions ! I enjoyed getting the 411 on these characters.Although True was not a character I liked we gained a lot of insight to why he was the way he was.He was beyond redeemable in my eyes.
The story was pack with a ton of emotion and drama as well as heartbreak that kept you glued to the pages to the very end.We really enjoyed it!
4 stars from us
This novella was previously published as Envy, and is the bridging story between King & Pawn. This is a beautifully written story, which is intense, dark, twisted, gritty, and filled with lust, jealousy, and pain, and is about being haunted by ones demons, and fighting through them. I cannot wait to read more from this talented author, and I highly recommend her work for all MC lovers!
Ky, aka Father Kyden aka Striker, is a priest in the Catholic Church. His identical twin brother Bracken, aka True, is VP of the Broken Bows MC. Ky had run from the MC in the middle of the night. Bracken is determined to bring him home and make him a part of the MC again.
I’m speechless. As dark and violent as this book was, it brought me to tears with an ending I truly didn’t see coming. Kerri Ann quite literally grabbed ahold at the beginning of the book and didn’t let go until the end when I let go of the breath I hadn’t realized I was holding. Truly a great read with a 5 star rating.
Loved it. Couldn’t put it down. Can’t wait for Pawn
True and Strike are brothers separated by choices of their father. One is fighting his carnal needs while the other gives into every vice in front of him. Using the woman they both desire True takes them on a path that neither will ever be able to walk away from. This story brought tears to my eyes.
