Ronan essentially abandoned his family years ago, only showing up very rarely to visit. He’s been a mysterious figure throughout the series, and now it’s time to finally get his story. And what a story it is…I definitely did not expect his backstory, and felt so for him. But so glad he had a friend turned more who was perfect for him, who was there for him while he was away from his family. I think this is my favorite of the series, and am really bummed that it’s the final Casella cousin story.
RONAN….Kathryn Shay
Ronan is the oldest cousin in this Casella clan, and a director doing an Off Broadway show. Ten years he has keep secrets, even from Eliza, now deciding no more running. Along with years of therapy, forgiving parents. His other siblings did he want to see them. Accepting the love Eliza had for him,
She too had heartache from her ex and a past, the strength he needs is with Eliza. We now know about Ronan and the roller coaster of emotions he has had to deal with. Good story as is the series of this Casella family we have met and loved. Given arc for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
I have been looking forward to this book from the beginning book and it did not disappoint! I am so glad to finally know Ronan story and all that he has been through and overcome. And let me say Bridget? Wow! I don’t want to give anything away, but I was shocked by everything with her! I’m sad that the series is over, but loved every one of the books!
The final Casella cousins book did not disappoint and wrapped up the questions about Ronan’s past and why he disappeared from the lives of his siblings and cousins. Ronan is ready to come home and plans to spend a year in Hidden Cove directing a play and reconnecting with his family. He drags Eliza Ellington with him – a woman who has become his best friend, choreographer, and sounding board. There is chemistry between them but they have hesitated taking their relationship to the next level as Ronan believes he can’t commit and Eliza is afraid to lose her friend if she feels more than he does. But they take the time out in Hidden Cove to explore their relationship and see if they can make a go of it. Great book and sad the series came to an end.
4 star Review Ronan (The Casella Cousins #6) by Kathryn Shay
I have been thoroughly enjoying the novellas in The Casella Cousins series from Kathryn Shea. This is the sixth book in the series and is Ronan and Eliza Ellington’s story and was a great addition to the series.
I have been intrigued by Ronan since he was first mentioned in the series and this story answered my questions. Having left home at eighteen and making a success in the movie industry, Ronan has finally come back home, after disappearing for some time. What has happened in the intervening years to keep him from coming home?
The Casella cousins are very close and his disappearance from their lives hurt them all in one way or another. Now that he is finally back, will he finally give them the answers that they have wanted for so long?
The writing was strong, with characters that were easy to relate to and a story line that you cannot help but become invested in. I really liked both Ronan and Eliza, they have both been through so much and finally can see light at the of their tunnels. Sure Ronan has had fame and success but something was always missing. This was an entertaining, emotional friends to lovers story that ticked boxes for me.
Can his return home bring him the peace and chance at happiness that he deserves? Will he allow himself to open up to Eliza?
4.5 Stars for Ronan ( Casella Cousins #6 )
I was so excited to be back with the Casella clan and Ronan did not disappoint, it was everything I have come to expect from the very talented Kathryn Shay. This is book 6 in the series of novella’s each featuring a different Casella cousin, but I think for this book in particular you need to have read the previous books to understand and enjoy Ronan’s story.
Ronan walked away from family and friends, he left home to make a name for himself in Hollywood and once he had done that he disappeared once again. The Cassella cousins are a tight knit group and they struggle to understand why Ronan has turned into a recluse with no one knowing where he is, so you can imagine the surprise they all get when he turns up in Hidden Cove to produce a local play….
Eliza Ellington a off Broadway choreographer and a friend of Ronan’s who is also in town to help with the production but as these friends spend time together feeling rise to the surface and they become a lot more than just friends or work colleagues…..
This is the last book in this series and for me it was the perfect story to tie the series up with, this book ticked my boxes, I love the characters and their stories, I love how both a Ronan and Eliza overcome the past to build a future and friends to lovers is one of my favourite genre. Looking forward to see where Ms Shay takes us next.
I received an arc in exchange for a true review.
Ronan’s story has become my favorite book in this series. I love Hidden Cove and the people who live there. Reading about their lives and watching the changes in their relationship is wonderful in this series. I felt as if I was visiting old friends.
Ronan has been a mysterious visitor, with everyone concerned about where he is and what he has been doing. He has bought the playhouse in Hidden Cove and is planning on producing a new play, using local people for the parts. When he arrives home, he has persuaded his best friend to help him produce the show. This book explains why he left at 18 and why he did not let anyone know where he was or why he wouldn’t tell anyone what he was doing. The romance between Eliza and Ronan felt real to me as they slowly overcome their
