Overall score:
I scored this book 5/5
Short Summary of the book:
Ronaldo is packing his bags in this book. It’s off to the North Pole for him and his friends for a workshop run by the famous Vixen Pederson we met in book 3. In this book, Ronaldo shows the very human trait of possible jealousy, which he quickly discounts and turns into the friendship and caring he has displayed in the previous books. His interventions lead to a complete turn-around in the life of the nervous Cupid. Following this, she turns from a clumsy young reindeer into a capable leader.
What I liked about the book:
This book is full of love, care, friendship and humour like the other books in this series. The images are once again amazing, the story is hilarious and had me laughing out loud at times. Still, there is the serious undertone of how love, care, and friendship can make all the difference in life.
What I didn’t like about the book:
What’s not to like? I loved this book.
My favourite bits in the book:
I loved it, especially when Ronaldo discovered the possible reasons behind Cupid’s clumsiness and enlisted the help of one of the elves to solve this problem for her.
My least favourite bits in the book:
There were no least favourite bits in the books. Unless you count the last full stop in the book, that is. I hope there will soon be further books in this series.
Any further books in the series? Any more planned by this author?
There are three more books in this lovely series. I have read ‘Ronaldo: The Phantom Carrot Snatcher’ and ‘Ronaldo: Rudi’s Birthday Extravaganza’ too and loved those books as much as this one. An ideal series for the pre-teens and anyone confident enough to read these books when they’re older. Don’t simply discount them because you’re an adult. I absolutely love these books.
What books could this be compared to and why?
This book is as good as the others in the series. Which books to compare it with? Well, for those who read Dutch children’s books, you could compare it to Dik Trom perhaps. However, the images are much better in this book and these books are shorter reads too.
Recommendation:
In summary, I would recommend this book for the following readers:
Children Yes
Young Adult Maybe
Adult Yes, even if not aimed at this group
If you like stories with cheeky but loving characters this book may be the book for you.
I look forward to reading more books by this author.

About the Author:
I was born in Hounslow, Middlesex in the south of England. As a child, I loved drawing and took private art classes with a wonderful teacher called, Pearl Lee. She had an abundance of Disney magazines, and I would paint the characters on wood, card, canvas or anything else I was allowed to use, including walls.
When I was nine, my mum took me on holiday to Majorca. I clearly remember being fascinated by how other people lived outside of England. Travelling became my new obsession.
After Sixth Form College, I intended to go to art school, but…

Ronaldo (Ronaldo the Flying Reindeer #4)
Another Ronaldo joy to read
‘Ronaldo: The Vixen Peterson Workshop’ is the fourth book in this wonderful Ronaldo series, and I enjoyed reading it as much as I did the first one. Maxine Sylvester has a good pen. As always, in this Ronaldo book ‘friendship’ has a central role. We see Ronaldo together with his best friend Rudy, and new friendships are turning up.
But the main focus in this book and in the Vixen Peterson Workshop is on ‘teamwork’. Which team will win? Of course Ronaldo is a great team leader, encouraging, compassionate and he know to get the best out of his teammates. And even when his friend Rudy’s team (and not Ronaldo’s team) is the winner, he is happy for his friend.
A wonderful, easy read that children will love, and in the meantime, they get a very nice message of friendship and teamwork. I highly recommend!
Rudi’s adventure starts in the North Pole and there he meets Santa’s flying team to learn flying.
Excellent story for children teaching lot of values and was thoroughly fun. Loved it.
The last Ronaldo adventure I read was really well received, and Maxine has done it yet again with her latest installment! As a lover of children’s stories, Ronaldo’s latest adventure has everything a good children’s book needs; a solid adventure, child-friendly humour and a collection of memorable characters that can be remembered from book to book.
Maxine’s description and storytelling seems to get better with each book, and I thoroughly enjoyed each part of Ronaldo’s latest adventure. The book teaches its readers a lot of life lessons, and each page is simply a joy to read. I particularly enjoyed how new characters are brought into the mix, and by the end of the story, they become some of the most loved. Again, I don’t have a negative point to make – if you have children who love to read, this adventure is definitely one for your bookshelf
These two winter reindeer adventures are written to encourage young chapter book readers by providing inventive stories full of fun characters, witty dialogue, and amusing illustrations. Unlike many stories for this age group, Maxine’s stories revolve around a problem that young readers might encounter in their own lives. I highly recommend these books for young readers. The stories are fun, well-written, and provide a bit of a lesson in each.
I have to admit, I was starting to get worried that I was going have to go through the Holiday season without reading a new book Ronaldo book. So, I was very excited to find out there is a fourth installment from Ronaldo the Flying Reindeer series that just released called Ronaldo: The Vixen Pederson Workshop. (Insert Snoopy Dance here!)
It was great catching up with Ronaldo and his friends. They learn some great valuable lessons that all readers – young and old alike – could learn from. The illustrations are vividly beautiful that will catch the eye are a perfect addition to the story.
I highly recommend Ronaldo: The Vixen Pederson Workshop. I guarantee you that you will not regret it. I loved it!
Five stars.
I received this book from Amazon and was not required to write a review. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
