If you want to stay alive, you better know the rules . . .
Natalia Mayne said, “What’s the first rule?”
“Fear nothing,” I said.
“You have any more?”
“Do unto them before they do unto you.”
“Really?”
”And you don’t owe the truth to people who lie.”
“I’ve never met anybody like you.”
“I’ve heard that before.”

Confusing and had too much violence
Enjoyed the whole series. Read straight through them all.
Had as hard time finishing this book. Romeo kept going on about people. He read about.
Fun character!
I liked the main character and it was a fun story. Makes me want to read more of his books.
Romeo is reminiscent of Jack Reacher
Tough characters. I was intrigued by story. 4 1/2 strs
I first read this author as he co-wrote with Clive Cussler in the Issac Bell series. They were much better written than any other of Cusslers books. This went wayyy beyond ! It was I think the best I’ve read in a long time. Obviously his education comes out in his witty proverbs and Latin phrases. I am now buying everything he has written! Love it !
For a violent tough guy book this was very funny. The story was kind of irrelevant most of the time. ere’s troubled guy who can beat up just about anyone and also recite from memory from all classical books of history and philosophy while using martial arts skills and brute strength to chase a bad guy while quoting Hegel.
The writing is great. It’s lively and moves quickly. Fun to read.
One star off for lack of plot,
I found it to be an enjoyable read.
Love this series!
Mike Romeo is such a character, I had to read the whole series…and now I’m sad because I’m finished!
Travis Magee, Jack Reacher and Spenser all roiled into one on steroids. Awesome.
This was a fun, quick read. Well-written, and comical, at times. The author offers names of literary works his main character, Romeo, enjoys, which is much appreciated, especially when the author is as good a writer as he is. This book was great “mind candy”, as I call works of fiction such as this. I thoroughly enjoyed the read.
This book, and the newt three in the series, had me up late 3 nights in a row. I want to get to know more of Mike Romeo in many more books.
It was a great read. I enjoyed it and the characters in the story. It definitely kept you on edge of your seat. Very enjoyable read would definitely recommend.
Not your average read. Once you get into the premise of it, you are hooked. Had to look up several words as no idea what they even meant, but that just made the whole read better in my opinion.
OK read. Average to above average.
Very engaging and enjoyable. Romeo never gives up, just let’s the situation develop and go for it! What an ending. Wow! Worthy read.
This book is about a man who lives off the grid. He has no regular employment and he does not file taxes or use his SSN.
