Quint Payne is the sort of troublemaker who makes a girl fall head over heels… the man of my dreams…
Well, pinch me. I wanna wake up.
It’s bad enough having feelings for a gorgeous player, but keeping a secret crush on the sworn enemy of my family?
That’s some terrible, small-town luck.
But when Quint approaches me with a plan to end the feud destroying our two families, it’s a perfect opportunity to steel my heart against the sexy bad boy. All I’ve gotta do is prove to myself that he’s no more than a sweet-talking, bed-hopping, skirt-chasing, heart-thumping, core-clenching, mouth-watering Romeo.
If only he didn’t believe that I’m his destined Juliet.
It was easy enough to fall into love…
Here’s hoping it’s just as easy to fall out of it.

I liked this book, but I just couldn’t love it.
The last of the Payne romeos finds his juliet in the most unlikely – and yet most obvious – of places, right in the heart of the family that has been feuding with his for decades. Lady Barlow is everything Quint is not – sweet, thoughtful, and respectable. Quint has been living in the shadow of his diagnosis, determined to live life to the fullest for whatever time he has, without any regard for how to make it last as long as possible and with a devil-may-care insouciance that prevents anyone from taking him seriously. His lack of understanding of his illness was highly questionable, but perhaps it’s just what he wants others to think. Even so, he comes across as far too immature for the kind of relationship upon which he’s embarking.
This author really has a gift for spinning outrageously choreographed hilarity into heartfelt emotional connections, and this book is no exception. However, the story went over the top too many times, spinning quip after quip (although they were very, very clever quips) until I lost track of where we were in the story. Even after going back and rereading to verify the timeline, I found too many continuity inconsistencies.
The writing is beautiful, with lyrical phrasing that is truly captivating. The opposites-attract and family-feud approach is utilized brilliantly, and this story incorporates all the Payne siblings and their families far more than any of the previous books did.
The HEA is great news for the Payne family, but I wasn’t quite sure where things were left with Quint and Lady. A HFN, for sure, but without resolving Quint’s one major issue, thereby lacking any solid resolution for the couple. I enjoyed the book for the return trip to Butterpond, but I wish it had been as fulfilling as it could have been. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
What a cute romantic comedy. I really enjoyed this book a lot. The characters were easy to like and I loved the banter between them. I’ve read a couple books by Sosie and I liked them more than I thought. This book was a little slow in the beginning for me but definitely picked up more in the middle. Still a great read.

I just love these Paynes. The things these men do will have you laugh. Quint is the youngest brother and quite the ladies man. Lady is returning home so she can put her feelings for Quint finally behind her and move on. You know what they say about plans, they usually don’t happen the way you want. Their family has always butted heads, but Quint wants to change that, and also wants Lady. This story made me laugh with everything that happens. I don’t want to give anything away, but you need to read this book. The banter between the two is great, there is plenty of steam and you see the connection they have strengthen and grow. Pick this up and fall in love with another Payne.
Romeo and Juliet meet slapstick
The Payne and Barlow families have been at each other for two decades. The reason why is never made clear but they clearly have no love for each other.
Lady Barlow has loved Quint Payne for years but has been too shy and afraid of her family to say anything. Quint Payne has been too full of himself to notice her, until she returns from being away at school. Then he notices her in a big way.
Both Lady and Quint want the feud to end so they go about trying to get their two families together in peace. But something always happens, usually something hysterical. Can these two end the feud and end up together or will their families keep them apart?
Gahhh… this author has the perfect formula down for these stories. I LOVE not only the characters abt the balance between action, heat, humor and sass! I cannot get enough of her words.
In this story, the humor and sassy was a large part and that made the gruff main character such fun to read about. I am such a sucker for stories where the male is brooding and the female comes in and shakes up his world. The way these two tussle with each other was just brillant! I could read this story over and over again!
A bit of a modern day re-telling of Romeo and Juilet, this story is a joy to read and this reader HIGHLY recommends it to all romance lovers.
This is the 6th book in this unique and addictive series, and is Quint and Lady’s story. These two are total opposite yet they have one common goal, and that is to end the feud between their families which had been going on for the last 20 years. This is a well written story which is humorous, steamy and filled with witty banter throughout. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I highly recommend for all.

Quint and lady story is a modern day Romeo and Juliet but with a end you will love. Quint will steal your heart he is sweet and wants to make everyone he doesn’t have any plans for his life in Butterpond but that all going to change when sweet Lady decides to let him know that she is crazy about him. Both families hate each other and boy is this roller coaster ride of craziness that they didn’t see coming. If you are looking for a story that will keep you laughing and on your toes with some family drama thrown in than this is your story.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. We’re back in Butterpond and the town’s as crazy as it used to be. This time it’s memers of rivaling or rather feuding families falling for each other. A little bit like Romeo and Juliet – without the ending. Nevertheless you’ll fall for Romeo and his struggles to keep everyone happy and by doing so taking his own misery as a given. And there’s Lady, a woman out of his league but in love with him since school… The towns crazyness doesn’t help getting closer to each other and overcome the decade-long feud. A very sweet story about making the right desission and live through them.
Confusion, mayhem and shenanigans lead to love in ultimate Butterpond-style
Romeo by Sosie Frost (6th book of the Payne Brothers series) is a spectacular romantic comedy that kept me in stitches throughout. The characters in this book (and the entire series) are some of the sassiest and most hilarious. If you don’t laugh out loud, you are surely bound chuckle or at least crack a smile or twenty. On the flip side, Quint and Lady are truly put through their paces and the heartbreak wringer throughout which only made me root for them harder and wish I could read faster to turn the pages quicker. Stuck in the middle of a family feud which divides their crazy home town, Quint and Lady not only battle themselves & each other, but expectations, revenge and the status quo.
Quint is vulnerable, feeling unworthy and flawed so hides behind his flair for flirting and wooing ways with one night stands. With no future, no effort is needed, no expectations to live up to, no reason to even try for anything meaningful. Until he hatches scheme after scheme to reunite the town by ending the feud between their families.
Lady Barlow is exactly that, a Lady through and through despite her young age. But because of her young age, she is thoroughly confused by her heart and Quint. Poor thing, just as she thinks she’s got everything figured out, what she should do, chaos ensues and she’s right back to square one; unsure, shaken and more in love than before. Lady spends more time feeling upside down, inside out and on the left when she should be on the right.
Overall, all is not lost for this on-the-surface mismatched couple and another Payne Brother finally deserves and gets his HEA.
