Hopeless romantic Elena Mason doesn’t often hate people, but she hates her ex-fiancé’s insufferable best man, Lucas Albright III. She just knows Lucas is the one who talked her ex out of getting married—so Lucas is clearly the cause of all her problems. And now she’s expected to work with him? Oh, heck no.Lucas Albright wants nothing more than to make partner at his advertising firm, and he knows … advertising firm, and he knows he works best alone. But then Elena ends up as his partner on an account that could win him a promotion. He had a great reason to end her engagement, not that she’d ever believe him. Still, he’s willing to try working as a team.
Unfortunately, his new “partner” wants him dead.
Elena knows she’s going to have to give in and work with her nemesis, though nobody said it had to be easy for him. But what happens when fighting starts feeling a whole lot like falling in love?
Each book in the Accidentally Yours series is STANDALONE:

Romancing His Rival is a story that will leave you happy with a smile on your face. It is kind of like a modern fairy tale because Elana Mason finds her true prince charming when she was not even looking for him. What a fun, romantic story that emphasizes you should not change for someone to truly love you. Great story! I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to leave an honest review.
Loved, loved, loved! One of the things I enjoy the most about Jennifer Shirk’s books is her ability to write a sweet emotion filled story infused with just the right amount of humor to keep it light, fun and relaxing. That is exactly what she’s done with this book. It’s one of the better enemies to lovers stories I’ve read in awhile. Elena blames Lucas for the fact that her fiance called off their wedding. Something Lucas has never denied and won’t apologize for, fact is he’s never told Elena the whole story nor will he now. When they get paired up to work on a crucial project for Lucas they are forced to put the past to rest and focus on the job. That’s when things really start getting interesting.
This one is a must read. I highly recommend it.
A love affair gone wrong could end up costing them a romance that feels so right. Romancing His Rival flirts with the heartstrings while tempting with humor. Shirk knows how to make a heart feel. Lucas and Elena are caught in the middle of a great big misunderstanding, perhaps their hearts can help them sort it all out. A feel good kind of romance.

I look forward to reading more from this author.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC from NetGalley.
Lucas and Elena go from rivals to being a couple. The struggle story starts with her almost knocking him out with a couch pillow. The more time they spend together, the harder it becomes for them to dislike each other. Lucas is always up for a laugh and uses that to break down the barriers Elena has built against him. He validates her feelings and shows her that what she was expecting from her ex-fiancée Scott was unrealistic. It is a wholesome and sweet story with a happy ending.
Romancing the Rival by Jennifer Shirk a five-star read that will make you swoon. This is the third novel in the Accidently Yours series, but I haven’t read the first two, I will pop back and get the first two as I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Elena Mason has annoyed me at times and did push meat points but overall, I adored her, she pulled through in the end and blew me away. Lucas Albright was so funny, watching him interact with people and come to some conclusions that you can see him struggle with on the pages, he really did surprise me. Cape Harmony sounds like a great place to live and I for one would love to go and visit, I suspect much like many others, I doubt I would want to leave. I will certainly be adding this author to my list of people to watch, she has a way with words that I adored.
This one has nothing unusual in it. It’s a sorta friends to enemies to eventually lovers story. Lucas was supposed to be the best man at the wedding that never happened between Elena and Scott. Lucas was the main reason that Scott called off the engagement/wedding, at least that’s what Elena has always thought. Strictly speaking, she’s right. But there is much more to the story. More than Elena knows. Now forced to work with one another, Lucas and Elena find out that they don’t really know a lot about the other. Their preconceived notions are not exactly correct. What Elena thinks she always wanted is not necessarily what she realizes she really wants. She did get a little annoying because she wouldn’t give it up but I guess that was all part of the plot. It was entertaining and enjoyable
This was okay. The writing flowed well, but I wasn’t a fan of the heroine for pretty much the whole book. Elena was whiny, and fixated on having a wedding that her fiancé had called off months prior. It irritated me that she wanted him back. If my fiancé tells me that he doesn’t think I’m good enough for him, then good riddance. She was horrible to Lucas too, and I’m not sure what he saw in her. This book is more like a Hallmark movie with the steam level, and I like my books with more heat. Although this wasn’t a favorite of mine, I would read something else from this author.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
3.5 Stars
The blurb drew me in and enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes.
I liked the overall storyline and Lucas. Lucas was hands down my favorite character in this whole story. He’s a decent guy and a great friend. Elena, I just couldn’t seem to like her. Her obsession with life timeline just seemed ridiculous. She seemed so immature and I just couldn’t get over it.
