He’ll Never See It Coming… I don’t care if he’s trying to be nice to me. It’s only because he needs my help…
And I am going to help him. Or at least, I’ll pretend for a while…
I’ll get close to him.
I’ll learn all his secrets.
And then I’ll destroy him…
“Roman” is a bully mafia romance, Book 3 in the Underworld series. It’s an intense, violent, and sexually charged stand-alone novel. Complete with HEA and no cliff-hangers, plus enough steamy scenes to set your kindle on fire!
The Lark Notes:
My first bully-lite romance. This one takes a minute to get going but Roman and Mila come together hard… – Sophiemore
Roman and Mila have a great push, pull relationship. He is domineering and she is very strong minded. They knew each other in school and had an intense dislike for each other. Fast forward a few years, and they run in to each other again. This time they are thrown together and sparks fly. They learn more about each other and start to get honest about the past and present. Throw in a villain and this book has all the classic twists and turns a great story has.
I like this series because the books do not have major back and forth drama. They have a classic couple getting to know each other buildup. They have couples that have passion and romance. This book has all that and is a standalone like the other books.
Ink is the seventh book in the colors of crime series and each book is better than the last one. Mila and Roman have know each other since their days at Blackwood Academy. Mila and Roman don’t have a friendly history its more of a love/hate relationship. These two run into each other in Paris and lets just say that there reunion is intense and complicated. They say that love and hate are two sides of the same coin. Mila and Roman’s relationship is hot, intense, sexy and steamy. You can definitely see the passion that these two have for each other when they are together. I can’t wait for the next book in this series to come out.

Roman was a bully growing up. He attention was on Mila, his target back when they were in Blackwood Academy.
Years later they happen to see each other, and now being comfortable in one self Mila can give it back just as much as Roman. Underneath all their heat is passion.
The chemistry is extremely hot and the banter between these two characters are exciting. Each trying not to show what they are feeling. Some twist and turns will keep you on your toes, Mila still has to do her job and Roman wanting to still protect her.
A page turner! You just want to keep reading.

This is the best book in the series. I have read all of them and this one is hands down my favorite. Roman and Mila are long time enemies. Mila is in Paris and gets a job at a local magazine, she is tasked with writing a hit piece on her long time enemy, Roman. Mila believes this will be no problem at all. But that does not seem to be the case after all. A man named Hugo has had a long standing rivalry with Roman and is constantly trying to one up Roman.
This book has a happily ever after, which is my favorite. This book kept me on my toes, which is a great experience. I am a huge fan of the Colors of Crime series.

So, you like mafia books? Do you like bully romance? Well here is a great combination of the two. Sophie Lark brings high school bullying and the Bratva together in INK. This is a stand-alone story but has mentions of a few characters from her previous Bratva book Snow (which by the way was awesome). Taking place in Paris the scenery and food is described beautifully without being to heavy handed on details. Ink was a little violent and a whole lot sexy and was just a brilliant story altogether. 5-stars for INK by Sophie Lark.
Mila Drozdov grew up in a comfortable life in St. Petersburg, Russia till the Bratva destroyed her family. Roman Turgenev tormented Mila while in secondary school and never let her forget that she was beneath him and the other kids at school. Roman’s father being the head of the Bratva in Paris was a formidable man and Roman did not like for anyone to show him up, but somehow little Mila knew how to push his buttons. Now five years later and Roman and Mila are pushed back together in Paris and they hate each other just as much as they did before. Roman and Mila are older now and laying underneath all that hate is a lot of longing and chemistry that just cannot be contained. Roman tends to sabotage his own life, but now there is someone else trying to take down the Bratva prince and Mila might end up getting caught in the crossfire.
This was my first book from the author. I’m kicking myself for not starting the series sooner; it was that good! I’ll make sure to read them as well!!
Roman Turgenev and Mila Drozdov go way back. They both went to Blackwood Academy, but their interactions weren’t the best. He bullied her because of her “lower” status and she couldn’t stand his arrogant attitude. His father is the head of Paris Mafia and he’s the heir to the organization. Now, 5 years later, they meet again in Paris. His father is dead, so he’s now in charge, and she’s interviewing for a journalist job. Her first assignment is to write a piece about his new casino and expose his mafia dealings.
Roman and Mila’s chemistry was apparent from the start. Even 5 years ago, when he was nothing but a bully to her, there were sparks between them. Because of the article she has to write about him, Mila gets to know him better. She gets to see the man behind the arrogant attitude. Roman unveils parts of himself, that she didn’t know existed. Hatred is what feeds the sparks at first, but their passion slowly wins! They have trust issues, that they need to work through. The relationship between them gets even harder because of all the other things going on. Roman has enemies that are out to get him, and Mila’s research puts her in danger.
Their story is definitely amazing!! The book will give you the sexiness, the suspense, and the action you crave. “Ink” will keep you at the edge of your seat and you won’t be able to stop reading until the end!!!

Ink by Sophie Lark
Another wonderful Bratva romance by Sophie Lark. We enter the world of Roman and Mila.
This story was an enjoyable read. We were first introduced to Roman during Violet, but now a few years later, he has a story all his own. And what a story it is!!
Roman is the kind of character you love to hate. He is a bully. He is strong-headed. People kowtow to his every desire. But in the end, you are cheering for him. He to finds love in the arms of Mila, his nemesis in high school. She is inquisitive and a go-getter.
This book is a steamy, rough and tumble romance. Brace yourself for Ink.
The story line and character work were good. The book had a fairly smooth flow to it. This was a quick, fun read.

INK An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance (Colors of Crime Book 7) by Sophie Lark
Roman Turgenev, son of the bratva boss and Mila Drozdov were students at the same school and it was his ambition to make her life miserable without her knowing why. Years later after his father dies, Roman is the head of the family. On her way to a journalist job interview a chance run in with Roman turns disastrous for her. This story goes in a slightly different direction than I expected it to go. Sophie brings us a story filled with drama, banter, heat and plenty of clashes. I give this 4 stars.

Roman was Mila’s high school nemesis. He lived to make her life miserable. When they meet again a few years later, it seems that nothing has changed. Good read and romance

The blurb reel me in and I wanted to like this. I really really wanted to like this due to the whole novel being based off of my favorite enemies to lovers trope and of course fan favorite theme, mafia romance. But it failed to meet my expectations
First things first, maybe it was just me but the dialogue didn’t seem quite natural and this so-called ‘chemistry and connection’ between Romon and Mila was pretty much non-existent in my book. I didn’t see it nor could I imagine them ever being together in a relationship despite the enemies to lovers aspect. In addition, the romance was choppy, lackluster and I felt like the plot was rushed.
Overall it would have been a better read if the novel was edited a bit more to work/improve kinks, characters were given some depth, and if the leads were better suited for one another. I will say that there is definitely some lingering potential there and I will definitely keep an eye out for this author’s future releases.
There is Roman Turgenev son of Victor who died in a family blood bath, which left him and his sister and Victor’s 2nd in command Anton. So we have Roman, Violet and Anton building the Casino Vivre that his father told him and Violet, his older sister to build together. This casino was a beautiful casino but Hugo Renard had a casino too and Paris was his family’s territory so he thought and he did not like the fact that the Turgenev’s built a casino in his city. What Hugo did not know how to do good was to be a gangster. While Roman and Violet had for the mos part had tried to go legitimate with their Bratva family. Since Violet was indoctrinated into the family in such a horrific way, because her father and most of his side of his family killed each other at a meeting where he had taken her to let his family know about his daughter. The Uncle and the Aunt and all that believed like the Uncle tried to kill her but Anton protected her and her father and his sister who was a lawyer and all the rest either were killed or killed each other.
Roman and Violet were the head of the family along with Anton, who married Violet and took their name. Violet and Anton were getting ready to have a child very soon. Roman and Mila always seemed to but heads. Mila’s family sent her to Blackwood, this exclusive school in Russia and Roman made her life miserable for the time that she was there. It seems he was doing this because he really liked her but they seemed to rub each other wrong.
This is the story of how their relationship grew. In an effort to get a story for the Clarion the newspaper who she became a journalist for and was supposed to be writing a story about Roman Turgenev’s family in an effort to bring them down. She had to idea that the newspaper was owned in part by the Renard family and so instead of the story Bisset her boss had hired her for she wrote a piece on Hugo Renard and his dealings which she got fired for. This is a good read. I really enjoyed this story. I know that these stories are interconnected because they involve the Bratva in one way or the other, or these families and how they are interconnected.

Ink by Sophie Lark is book 7 in the Colors of Crime Series. This is the story of Roman Turgenev and Mila Drozdov. I haven’t yet read the previous books, so for me this was a standalone book. Roman and Mila once went to school together but had a bully type relationship. Now a few years later both are little older but still seem to be on the enemies type relationship until their attraction becomes more and they cannot turn away from that feeling. I enjoyed their story.
This is the second in the series and does not disappoint. You do not have to read the first book to enjoy this one. This author has written a very well thought out story and makes you feel part of it. The characters are realistic and you cannot help but love them. It is an action packed steamy read which I enjoyed from the first page and could not put down til it was finished. Highly recommend.

Despite being book 7 in this amazing series this can be read as a standalone book, but then again why would you want to do that?! This is a book and a series that is very easy to get hooked on once you start reading it, so make sure you have time to read it cover to cover if necessary, for me it was necessary!

** spoiler alert ** Roman is trying to complete his dad’s last wish. Mila had her family torn apart and wants nothing to do with the Bratva. Will he be able to prove he isn’t the bully she thinks he is? Will Mila let her walls down and accept him?
Have to say this was a great enemies-lovers romance. I loved the fact that once Roman accepted what she meant to him, he was determined to do anything to prove to her that another side of him exists. I didn’t blame Mila for being hesitant, but loved how she slowly saw another side to who he really was. Great read!
Ink gets five stars from me! I loved it! It’s a really good mixture of bully, bratva and enemies to lovers.
Mila is a character you can’t help but like. There’s really nothing to not like about her. She’s sassy, smart and won’t take crap from anyone, especially a bully like Roman Turgenev. Roman made me want to strangle him on quite a few occasions and then want to kiss him, but isn’t that the point? He could be such a jerk and then so frustratingly sexy. Mila put up a good fight against her feelings towards him but gave in to them eventually and I’m glad she did because their story was so entertaining with an awesome plot and great ending.

Sophie Lark has quickly become one of my favorite authors!!! Every book that I have read from her has been read in one sitting because I just can’t put them down. Her writing and story telling are absolutely amazing. I love her attention to detail and that it is not excessively done. She will have you hooked from the very beginning.
Ink is a compelling story of enemies to lovers, and I completely fell in love with Mila and Roman right from the start, even with Roman being the way he was. There is just something about him that draws you to him and has you secretly and then openly rooting for him. Mila is determined, caring, strong, and just all around fantastic. There is not anything that I don’t love about them. When they come together it is explosive and oh man, let me tell you it is hot!!!! Sophie Lark makes it hard not to fall in love with Roman and Mila.
The angst and the build up of the story was perfect and really shows the trust that Roman and Mila have in one another. Ink contains the right amount of action, drama, sexy scenes, and suspense without one being under or overly done, and I love that.
I truly can not say enough about this book or the author. This was truly another extraordinary read for me.

Ink by Sophie Lark is an Enemies to Lovers Story Ripe with Powerful Imagery!
Roman Turgenevs makes the perfect, H, you want to dislike, but you find yourself rooting for.
Mila Drozdov is a strong, h, with grit that gives Roman exactly what he needs to make him more pliable.
I truly enjoyed their banter, and how Mila did not shrink away from Roman, and his cruel arrogance.
Hugo Renard, the competition, that is more than what he appears to be.
My favorite line in the book,
“But all the while my desire for her was growing and multiplying inside of me.
Infecting my blood, my organs, my bones.
Taking over my body until every last cell of my being had turned its allegiance to her instead of to me.” (Roman Turgenevs)
