He’ll Never See It Coming… I don’t care if he’s trying to be nice to me. It’s only because he needs my help…
And I am going to help him. Or at least, I’ll pretend for a while…
I’ll get close to him.
I’ll learn all his secrets.
And then I’ll destroy him…
“Roman” is a bully mafia romance, Book 3 in the Underworld series. It’s an intense, violent, and sexually charged stand-alone novel. Complete with HEA and no cliff-hangers, plus enough steamy scenes to set your kindle on fire!
The Lark Notes:
My first bully-lite romance. This one takes a minute to get going but Roman and Mila come together hard… – Sophiemore
Ink, the 7th book in the Colors of Crime series and can be read as a standalone. This story included enemies to lovers, bully romance and mafia romance all in one story. It was suspenseful, steamy and entertaining and I was hooked until the end.
The love/hate relationship between Mila and Roman from high school soon turned to lust and I enjoyed seeing the progression of their relationship all these years later. The story is given to us in dual POV and we get to see into the mind of both characters. It was a fast paced, quick read and I enjoyed it and would recommend it to all lovers of enemies to lovers romance.
This is the 7th book in this incredible series and is Roman and Mila’s story. Mila knew Roman from when he was a Bratva prince and their relationship was contentious at the best of time. Now years later they cross paths again and now Roman is head of the Paris Bratva, and they are at each other throats instantly. There is a fine line between hate / love, and these two are the perfect example of that scenario. The chemistry between them is explosive. This is a well written ale which is intense and filled with angst, drama, action, violence, and is a steamy enemies / lovers’ story. I was enthralled throughout and highly recommend for all.
All I can say is WOW…Roman is the boss! This enemies to lovers book was awesome. It had all the elements I love in a mafia book. The violence, the ruthlessness, the over protectiveness and of course the love/romance. Roman and Mila were bitter enemies. I didn’t think they would every come to like each…let alone love one another. But one intense and passionate touch from Roman and then it was no going back. That intense hatred turned in to intense attraction. I really enjoyed this book. I would venture out to say that so far this is the one I liked the best in the series. I was kind of bummed to see the book end because I was really into Roman and Mila’s story. Can we get a sequel??? LOL

TOTAL RATING:
ARC PROVIDED FOR AN HONEST REVIEW
This was my first book by Sophie lark and It was a satisfying read for me.
The characters were marvelous and the story line was good. The bullying aspect of the story was highlighted very well.
In this book we meet Mia and Roman. They both had a beef since college times and now Mia finally has her chance to have revenge on the hero. Roman is a major jerk , even though he knows that he likes Mia , god knows why he is still such a jerk to her!!
But still the way he handled his emotions was good. The only negative point I liked about this book was that the story at a certain point became a little boring to me and Roman was too much for me. He said that he liked Mia and then was a jerk to her because he couldn’t control his emotions!! seemed very immature to me. That is all I would like to say and other than the above mentioned negative parts this book was a one-time read for me .
This book is suitable for all the bully romance lovers.
Roman and Mila. Ok did not disappoint. If you enjoy Enemy to lover books, then this is the book for you. Absolutely love Romans unknown protectiveness over Mila. Roman is fulfilling his father wishes with a casino. Love their journey, the ups and downs, the love hate banter. Great book.

This very well-written book is the 7th standalone book in the Colors of Crime series, but I would suggest reading these books in order to get the full experience by this Author. This book has many twists and turns and surprises. These characters are very well written and feel realistic with a good story and world building. This is a must read series that gets better and better

Book seven in the Colors of Crime series – an enemies to lovers romance – and it is an electrifying un-put-a-down-able read! The story line drama-filled, witty, funny, relatable, and engaging with suspense, chaos, twists, and intrigue. This emotionally deep gripping read will grab hold of your attention from start to finish and leave you wanting more. Strong characters; their chemistry is intense and off the charts! Definitely recommended.

This gem is book seven in the Colors of Crime series. This is Mila and Roman’s story. They went to school together and their relationship was awful. Roman picked on and bullied Mila. Bravta prince or not, this left Mila resentful and revengeful towards Roman. Now, both of them are in Paris and Mila is given the task of writing a story on Roman. Roman could use Mila’s help on something as well. Both characters believe they are outsmarting the other to get what they want. These two characters have no idea what fate truly has in store for them. What a fantastic story! As always it is well written story that takes you on a journey where you feel included as part of the story as it unfolds. This is a standalone but Mila and Roman have ties to other characters in previous books in this series. I can not recommend this series enough. Enjoy!

I am so sad there is only one book left after this. The Colors or Crime series is one of my favorites. Not only do you finally get to hear about Mila and Roman, but some of your favorites make appearances. Mila is such a strong female. At first she wants revenge against Roman. But has her story goes on, she realizes there is a fine line between love and hate. I recommend you start from the beginning of this series even though they are all standalone, there are different parts that tie in with other books.

She’s beautiful, intelligent, fearless. He’s sexy, smart, arrogant. She hates him. He hates her. They can’t stop thinking about each other. Mila and Roman attend secondary school together, but they are never friends. After college, she gets a job as a journalist in Paris. Her first assignment – a story on the upcoming opening of his casino. She’s ready to dig up and dish all the dirt she can find. He’s not the only one with secrets. This was a wonderful book. I didn’t read the earlier books in this series, but started with Snow (book 6). My impression of Mila from that reading was of her being spoiled and immature. She’s certainly grown up. The banter between Roman and Mila is witty and amusing. And omg… the sex between them is just explosive! So much action, so much suspense, so many plot twists… I couldn’t put this book down once I started reading.

He never saw her coming…
He was raised in the Bratva, the son of the Turgenev family. He’s arrogant, rich, and raised to be a leader. He looks down on Mila because he knows that she is not part of the Bratva, and her family owns a restaurant. Mila Drozdov has switched schools because her mother comes from a well-known family, not because her family is rich. She’s now attending Blackwood with the rich and famous students. She can’t really afford the extras that the other students can, and Roman Turgenev is always calling her out and has made her an outcast at Blackwood. Mila wants nothing to do with Roman after what the Bratva did to her family. Can she get her revenge on the Bratva through Roman while doing her job?
Mila Drozdov is now out of College and living in Paris looking for a job as a reporter. With journalism degree, she is now ready to attain a job and live her life. The day of her interview she has a run in with Roman and it seems that things have not changed between them.
Roman Turgenev feels that he has grown and is ready for to carry on his father’s idea of opening a new casino in Paris. The trouble is that not everyone is excited for the new casino. When Roman runs into Mila again, literally, he finds the old Roman coming out and he is not happy to find that Mila still makes him crazy.
I really liked this story. The progression of Mila and Roman’s lives is entertaining, tumultuous, and steamy. They both need to come to terms with their feelings for each other. Mila is a curious woman who has to follow her head when she finds something that draws her in, until she has the answers, the only problem with this is that it puts her in danger and could end her life. Roman is used to violence and is trying to change his ways, but Mila seems to make that hard for him. He finds that he will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.
I give this story a 4-star review and suggest it to readers who enjoy Mafia/Bratva, enemies to lovers, danger, suspense, or strong-willed women who can’t seem to avoid danger.
This was the first book I’ve read from Sophie Lark, and WOW! This is a truly outstanding enemies to lovers romance. I loved everything about Mila and Roman. The story was real, and believable. You could feel every emotion. If you’re looking for a well written Mafia romance, this is it. This definitely will not be the last Sophie Lark book I read
A late night reading this steamy, mafia romance as unable to put down
Sophie pulls you in quickly to this suspenseful, steamy story of Mila and Roman. Mila was bullied by Roman of the Turgenev mafia in secondary school. Five years later, her first assignment on her new job is to write a story on him and his new hotel/casino. Mila is thinking of revenge for making her school years hellish, but when Roman introduces a different side than she is used to seeing, the story morphs into something different. Roman expects Mila’s story to be a backlash on his bratva family, so is surprised by the attraction that he feels for her. What follows are some steamy interactions between the two and plot twists to keep the suspense ratcheted high!
Although there is some bullying, the scene is brief, meant to provide you with a “why” the “current” Roman and Mila interact with hostility. When Roman and Mila meet again, he accidentally knocks her coffee all over her blouse, becoming flustered, Roman storms off instead of apologizing. As Mila explains who dumped the coffee on her blouse, her boss decides to use Mila’s “reunion” as an “in” for his magazine to get an exclusive interview with Roman regarding his new Paris casino and any information about his family’s tie with Russian Bratva. As Roman’s interviewing progresses, Mila becomes entwined in his everyday life, allowing the reader to learn how the ski trip shaped Roman’s dark obsession with Mila, “She’s fought me, argued with me, insulted me, infuriated me. Most of all, she’s invaded my body like a virus, almost unnoticeable.” The underlying sexual tension between Mila and Roman finally ignites when he sees her with his arch-rival “That smug *%ck dares to feed her chocolate, to touch those lips that belong to me and only me?!” Each interaction between Roman and Mila is charged with an electrical undercurrent that ensnares the reader, compelling them to read page after page, investing their own emotions into Roman and Mila’s journey until their explosive climax. From beginning to end, this story is an emotional rollercoaster between the combustible erotic scenes, the viciousness of the Bratva, the actions of an evil rival, and the despair and desperation of a man who has fallen in love. I hope Ms. Lark will write more stories like this in her future!
While not a fan of bully romances, I liked the blurb and wanted to read more.
I appreciated the way the author minimized the play by play torture that Mila experienced with Roman while they were younger but was able to capture the humiliation and pain they both suffered with the dual POVs that were provided.
Their antagonistic feelings were mutual and their growing feelings for each other only developed due to their close contact.
I also liked the way Mila was as honest and open as she could be while gathering info for her expose on criminal activity within her community.
A bit of rivalry drama and violence with Mila as the bone that was used by Roman and Hugo in this push and pull triangle.

It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of Sophie Lark and her Colors of Crime Series and Ink is definitely my favorite book in the series. It’s an enemies to lovers/bully romance/mafia romance all rolled into one… basically all my favorite themes in one book with a fierce female lead and an other the top alpha male.
Roman and Mila went to the same school but they were not friends, he basically tormented her the the whole school year. When school ended they went their separate ways and they both probably never expected to see the other again, that is until they collide into each other at a coffee shop while Mila is on her way to an interview. Roman still comes off as the same jerk he was in high school but Mila doesn’t have time to dwell as she is now covered in coffee and worried about missing her interview. When she gets to the interview her unexpected connection to Roman lands her the job, but her assignment is to basically ruin his new business venture and she happily accepts. As she is forced to spend time with him to uncover anything she can, she starts to realize that maybe Roman isn’t all bad. Roman meanwhile struggles with his feelings about Mila but he knows he is going to claim her and he has to protect her. When it comes time to draw Roman’s name through the mud will Mila be able to go through with it or will she risk her own future to find a better story?
I’m going to be honest, I was actually shocked that I loved these characters so much because I didn’t like them that much when they popped up in the previous books. Roman was a total jerk when he showed up in book 3 and Mila seemed almost a little spoiled when she showed up in book 6. Obviously I knew Sophie wouldn’t steer us wrong and she quickly had me rooting for these two. Mila was such a fierce female lead that stood up to Roman and she was willing to fight for what she wanted. Roman was like the alpha male from my dreams, he knew he was a jerk but he also owned it. I loved that he was the kind of man that always found a quiet spot to take what he needed but he was also willing to protect his loved ones.
I loved that we get to see Violet and Anton again! They are one of my favorite couples in the whole series so getting an update on them made me so happy. I also still dislike Mila’s mom immensely, she is the most selfish character and I like to imagine she is gonna get whats coming to her one day.
As far as the plot, it was set at a fantastic pace that held my interest from chapter one until the end. There were times I was sitting on the edge of my seat trying to read as fast as possible cause I had to know what was gonna happen. It is definitely one of those stories you are gonna want to read in one sitting.
I highly recommend this story and this whole series. **I did receive an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own**
This is the 7th book in the colors of crime series. It is a stand alone enemies 2 lovers mafia romance. This story is full of steam danger action and suspense.

This enemies to lovers read by Sophie Lark was fast paced and highly entertaining. How can you not fall for the bad boy business man with a mafia background. Impossible. Roman and Mila have great chemistry. The premise is great as it begins with some bullying. Ink is a great standalone read in the Colors of Crime Series.
If you’ve read the Colors of Crime series, we met Roman Turgenev in Violet Book3. If you haven’t read the other books, they can be read as standalone, Sophie Lark is great at bringing the reader up to speed. Roman is the heir to the Turgenev Bratva and is trying, along with his half sister Violet and her husband Anton a lieutenant in the Bratva, to legitimize the businesses, including building a casino in Paris. Mila Drozdov was the target for his bullying behavior in secondary school and made her life miserable. Now as adults, Mila is assigned to do a hatchet job on the Turgenev family, the Bratva connection, and the casino for her first professional journalism job. Quickly, the chemistry that existed many years ago, ignites between the two in a way neither expected and they both have a difficult time dealing with it. There are a lot of politics at play against the Turgenevs and their casino, twists, turns, and drama. And through it all, we have the growing relationship between these two enemies to lovers. This is a great addition to one of my favorite series and they just keep getting better. This book as well as the rest of the series can be read for free with your KU Subscription.
