He’ll Never See It Coming… I don’t care if he’s trying to be nice to me. It’s only because he needs my help…
And I am going to help him. Or at least, I’ll pretend for a while…
I’ll get close to him.
I’ll learn all his secrets.
And then I’ll destroy him…
“Roman” is a bully mafia romance, Book 3 in the Underworld series. It’s an intense, violent, and sexually charged stand-alone novel. Complete with HEA and no cliff-hangers, plus enough steamy scenes to set your kindle on fire!
The Lark Notes:
My first bully-lite romance. This one takes a minute to get going but Roman and Mila come together hard… – Sophiemore
I absolutely love this series. This one give us a look Roman, Violets brother. I couldn’t put it down. The story was intriguing beautiful and shows that love can change people for the better.

Wow! What a read that immediately grabbed me and kept me glued to the book, sitting on the edge of my seat and turning the pages as fast as I could to see what was going to happen. It was so well-written with complex characters and jaw-dropping intense ups and downs. I really liked Mila Drozdov and loved her sizzling chemistry with Bratva prince Roman Turgenev, head of the Paris mafia. Ms. Lark has become one of my favorite authors and once again she blew me away with “Ink”, the seventh book in her must-read Colors of Crime series. I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.
The passion between Roman and Mila is raw and primal when they meet again years after their school days when Roman teased and tormented Mila as his way of coping with her indifference toward him. Now Roman is a man – a formidable and unyielding Bratva leader, still obsessed with Mila’s defiance and resistance.
Mila can’t resist Roman any longer. The more she sees him, the more she sees the man that cares deeply for those he loves. She tries to expose the criminal acts of his rival and Roman saves her.
Ink is the story of a fiercely protective and deeply passionate man claiming what was meant to be his, and the fearless woman claiming her place beside him.

I adored this book. Roman and Mila are adorable. I cant tell you who I liked more as I was reading, and when they finally got together… better watch out! Their story is amazing, I loved it so much!
I enjoyed the mafia background for this enemies to lovers story. Roman makes Mila’s school years almost unbearable with his bullying and I wasn’t sure the author could make me believe he could atone for that and create a believable romantic relationship between these two but Lark did it. Mila grows up to be a strong woman and when she gets her chance to take revenge on Roman, she jumps at it. However, as this is a romance, both of them find that what they intended to happen in their relationship goes in a completely different direction. The mafia angles and the mystery of who is trying to get Roman are nicely developed and kept me guessing. I am very happy to have found a new series to dive into.
Sometimes the hottest love comes from the fiercest hate.
Total disdain between Mila and Roman began way back when they were teenage classmates at the posh Blackwood Academy in Russia. Roman was the richest of the rich kids with the biggest, cockiest ego.
Fast forward to Paris where Mila is beginning her journalism career and Roman is taking over his family’s ‘business’ after his father was murdered. Mila is assigned to interview Roman about the new casino he is opening and – bam – the sparks clash again between stubborn Mila and controlling Roman…and the magic flies as well. But being in Roman’s orbit is mysterious and intriguing and dangerous. There’s so much that needs to be discovered.
I loved this book so much!!
It’s dark and spicy and so un-put-downable! I think it’s my favorite in the Colors of Crime series.
This series is nothing short of amazing, Roman is definitely his father’s son and when his father was murdered, he, his sister and her husband Anton carried on the dream of opening a casino. Fate is a strange thing Mila couldn’t believe rushing to her interview for a newspaper she is knocked into and coffee spilled by none other then Roman her high school nemesis and after getting the job her first assignment is to write a piece on Roman Turgenev head of a Bratva family. I would highly recommend reading all the series as mention of people and events give you a better understanding, also these are brilliant books. I voluntarily reviewed this book
Is their obsessive hate for each other really something entirely different?
Oh. My. Word. That cover!!! The narrative is just as intriguing. This was a dark romance with humor and lots of…ahhh, tension.
Mila Drozdov is allowed to attend the swanky, “members-only” school of Blackwood Academy b/c her mother had attended. She doesn’t really fit in with the entitled rich kids and it doesn’t help that the most popular guy, Roman Turgenev hates her guts. Well, she feels the same about him. Or so it seems…
Fast-forward five years later and they “meet” again when Roman spills hot coffee all over Mila albeit by accident. Doesn’t change the fact that she was on her way to a job interview and has no time to change or clean up. Her luck! She gets the job BECAUSE her employer finds out she knows Roman Turgenev, the current leader of his branch of the Russian Mafia in Paris. What transpires from that point is unmissable. There are outside forces trying to bring down Roman, who incidentally is trying to go a different path than his family has been on for centuries. Who is Hugo Renard to Roman anyway? What’s his game?
This is a well-written, intriguing, steamy, sweet, dark romance. What?! Yes, Roman shows his true colors and they all shine on Mila. Two strong personalities find each other. I truly could not read this book fast enough. It was that good. Now that I’ve finished, I feel a little let down. Roman and Mila became real to me. Read this book and you’ll see…
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Booksirens and it comes highly recommended. I give it 5+ stars.
This is the seventh book in the Colors of Crime series and focuses on Roman Turgenev, Bratva royalty who Is the head of the Paris Bratva, and Mila Drozdov, a journalist who was bullied by Roman during her school years. I could not put this book down from The first page to the last. I highly recommend this fantastic book with its complex characters, an intense plot, and a sizzling romance.

My favourite out of the series. This is a captivating and compelling read you won’t want to put down. I loved Snow and Sasha, and now we get Mila’s story. This story is about Mila and Roman. They’ve know each other since the Blackwood Academy. Now, many years later, they happen upon each other in Paris. Soon they act more like enemies then old friends. I truly enjoy a story like this and I l0ved the darkness, the drama. I l0ved how self sufficient Mila was, she didn’t take any crap. Great story

Putting the “Brat”in “Bratva” for me
—>>> This was a nice read in the series, but I admit that it did take me a few chapters to even warm up to Roman, finding him more of a “Brat” than “Bratva” for me. HIs redeeming qualities begin later, shown first by his interactions with his long-lost half sister and her husband. Mila was pretty stellar throughout the book, finally uncovering the man he was meant to be, with everything at his disposal.
**3 1/2 stars**
This is my first read by Ms. Lark.
I really like her writing style.
The book held my attention from the start and kept me invested in the story.
I absolutely could feel the hate/love feelings coming from Roman and Mila.
Their feelings are always intense towards one another.
They have no in between.
I liked how Ms. Lark portrayed the different characters.
And how the what you see is not what you get.
I liked Roman and Mila.
I thought their chemistry and their tension were real.
The strong feelings they had as teenagers was borderline hatred.
And from there it just kept escalating.
I don’t think they knew how to deal with it any other way.
I liked the storyline and plot.
It was riveting and kept me interested and wanting to know what would happened next.
I have had two dislikes or complaints.
The first one,may be inconsequential to others but I found no tie between the title of the book and the story or with Roman.
He did have a tattoo on his back but it wasn’t mentioned except once and played an almost nonexistent part of the story.
My biggest disappointment though is the ending.
I wish Ms. Lark would have included an epilogue.
I know that Roman and Mila end up together of course.
But I would have loved more closure to the problem Roman took care of and what happened after the rebuilding. Even a glimpse into the future would have been good.
Looking forward to reading more from this author.
A reformed man and a woman determined to search for the truth!

Roman spent his high school years tormenting Mila, but it was not until she moved to Paris that they reconnected on a more personal level. Mila was now journalist tasked with writing about his soon to open a new casino. Age had matured Roman, and he realized his childish behavior was an attempt to get her attention, now he wanted to gain her respect. After the death of his father and other family members, Roman was intent on making his empire more legitimate. Mila tried to resist her attraction to Roman, but it was impossible not to love the new and improved Roman. I found the attraction between Roman and Mila addictive reading. While Roman had changed, so too had Milla. She was now a woman who wanted to expose the secrets of the Parisian underworld, and what she found only made her determined to succeed.

I fell for Roman from the start. I’m always attracted to those bad boys. He was so cocky and self assured. And Mila, strong, independent. I knew this would be a good story. It was. It is. This whole series has been so entertaining! Highly recommend.

I received an advanced review copy of Ink and I enjoyed every word, I’m leaving this review voluntarily. I just love a bully that hates on everyone and everything….then that one woman or girl comes into their life that changes how they see the world. This book gave me everything that gets me all worked up. Roman is every girls wet dream. Hot, sexy as heck, filled with repressed passion and sooooo possessive. He had me squirming in my seat lol. Mila, the girl Roman bullied through high school is back years later….could she be the love he never knew he wanted or the woman who will destroy his faith in women completely and forever? If you want to know I recommend reading Ink for yourself. Wonderful read!
She has the “Poison Pen” but will she use it?
Ink is the seventh book in the Colors of Crime series and is the story of Roman and Mila. He was born into the Russian Bratva and as such he is a bully, arrogant, has an entitled attitude and is just quite unlikable Mila is the opposite in that she is sweet, nice, determined, scarred but still open.
When Roman and Mila were in school together at Blackwood Academy he was a very mean bully towards her. Now they are grown he is still a bully but in different ways. He is now the head of the Bratva in Paris and she is a journalist. They literally run into each other in a coffee house when she is rushing to get to an interview for a new job. She lands the job because of her history and connection with Roman as she is assigned to interview him and write about his business ventures. This means that Mila will have to spend time again with Roman to uncover all the illegal details. But as they spend time together Mila starts to uncover more of Roman than she anticipated which opens him up and lets light shine into his soul. Roman wants Mila but struggles with his feelings for her. He is certain of one thing and that is he will protect her at all cost. But will Mila do the same when it is time to write her article?
This book is nicely written with an intriguing story-line. I liked Mila’s character except for wanting to knock her upside her head a few times because of the way she still put up with Roman’s treatment of her. As for Roman he was not a likable character and to me did not “redeem” himself. I thought this was an okay story but not my favorite from the series to-date. But this is only my opinion and I know others will love the story…………to each there own.
I received an ARC of this book from the author for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

I just love this series I first read about Roman Turgenev in the book titled Violet in that book she discovered she had a past tied to the Paris Mafia Russian Bratva and her father was the leader she fell in love with Anton first lutenit to her father her brother Roman was not pleased to have a half sister but eventually they came to care about each other as a family should only in a bloody murderous plot kind away. I always wondered what happened to the family after her fathers murder we find out more about Roman this time. Romans very dark and intense hes learned to control his temper better except for one women Mila only she was just a girl when they first met. Roman and his sister and Anton the only remaining family left are trying to go strait but being who they are there’s always enemies and then there’s Roman’s perfect match in everything Mila and they hate each other or do they. Mila has know love for the Russian mob from her formative years in a prestigious Academy were she meet Roman he tormented her to years later when her mother caused more chaos with the Bratva. And as for Roman she couldn’t stand him funny thing was they both secretly wanted each other. Now in Paris Mila is doing a piece on Roman and there empire legal or otherwise but what she discovers along the way is corruption, in the highest ranks of society and government one that can lead to her death and a man both passionate and possessive of her Roman they may have started out enemies but they can’t keep there hands of each other now. Will Roman and his sister be able to go straight will there fathers dream of a casino happen or will his enemy take it and the women he loves from him.
