Pasha Rivin’s trying to outrun fate. He’s been running from it for years now, but escape isn’t in his cards. As the oldest son of the oldest Roma family in the country, he’s not just a member of a proud and fiercely traditional clan. He is their reluctant king…and now he’s expected to find a wife.
The fiery redhead that shows up on his doorstep, following a trail of breadcrumbs, hunting for a missing little boy, is the last person Pasha’s mother has in mind, however.
She’s an outsider, an intruder, and as far as his family are concerned, she’s not welcome on their land, let alone in their king’s bed.

Roma King is nothing like I expected, everything I didn’t know I wanted, and has left me spent and wanting. It’s the perfect foreplay.
I am left with tons of questions but the fact of the matter is…I’ve been given an answer. I just didn’t like the answer. I’m shocked and disgusted by the answer. But I have one. I just need more answers than I have questions.
This carefully crafted spider’s web of a story is so intricate and carefully woven, I know I stumbled upon the middle. But where is the start? And why? So many questions…
I can’t wait for book 2. Our firefly better set the night on fire. I’m fairly certain she won’t have any other option.
Reviewed for Sweet Spot Sisterhood
Roma King was a story about one’s fate and that nothing and no one can stop you from finding your destiny. Just ask Pasha and Zara. They’ve been dreaming about each other for years, almost certain that the other existed outside of their minds, and circumstance put them together. But their road to happily ever after won’t be as easy as that. There’s a strange undercurrent to their story and people with their own agendas. Will Pasha and Zara find the truth? And will they save a precious life in the process?
I can’t wait for all of you to meet Pasha. He’s mine! I already called dibs, licked him, marked him, and that makes him all mine. He’s officially a member of Nat’s Harem and I won’t be letting him go any time soon, if ever. He made this story for me. I couldn’t get enough of him and I didn’t want to stop reading. He’s no Zeth, but he’s amazing just the same. Callie Hart sure knows how to create a delicious hero. I just wanted to slurp him up. Okay, I’ll stop perving.
Intentionally vague my review is. There was just so much going on in this story that giving you one bit would spoil the rest. It’s sexy and gritty, especially when delving into the Roma aspect and everything that had to do with Pasha. With one heck of a cliffhanger, I’m eager to get my hands on book two.
I have to say when it comes to Callie Hart, expect the unexpected and embrace it. I love her ability to write a story that draws you in.
Roma King was the first story I’ve ever read about gypsies, and I loved it.
Pasha and Zara’s story is intriguing, hot and will have you glued to the pages. Their chemistry is so strong, but yet forbidden.
Honestly this story was unlike anything I’ve read and I was left with questions and can’t wait for book 2.
Callie is the Queen of dark reads and the queen of the anti hero alpha that girls love.
Loved this book and will be not so patiently waiting for book 2! God I love a good cliffie!
Will the King claim his Queen?
Zara is an emergency dispatcher, dedicated to her job. Pasha has been exiled from his people, but now the time has come to fulfill his destiny, become King of the Roma and marry a suitable Roma woman. When the payphone outside her apartment begins ringing every night both their lives will change unexpectedly, and they will have to fight fate and an old Roma prophecy in order to claim their future! An enchanting and suspensful tale of two lovers destined to be together! Zara and Pasha are soulmates and they can’t resist the feelings they have for each other! A steamy and alluring story that will carry you away into the mysterious world of the Roma!
“Oh… my… shitting… fuck. That voice. Honey, and rough whiskey, and fire, and smoke.”
Callie Hart singed my senses with her words. Is it possible for a reader to watch a character’s erotic dream? Well, the answer is hell yeah! Guilty. Not ashamed to admit I enjoyed every second, of every dream.
At first, I was intrigued by the mystery of the 911 call and I was anxious to learn the details of that situation. But then, I met Pasha. And once I did, I had a hard time concentrating on anything else. Trust me, I’m not alone, Zara felt the same way. “The guy was more than hot. He was fucking beautiful. Not in a feminine way. Beautiful in a savage, rough, raw masculine way, that had robbed me of my breath.”
This story was so much more than I expected. I found Roma lifestyle and traditions very interesting. The deeper I was pulled into Pasha’s past and his reason for denying his destiny as king of his clan the harder I gripped my Kindle. What I really wanted to do was throw it upside several heads. The author really did an amazing job of keeping my mind blown with all the twists and turns. The biggest WTF? came at the end. Yes, it’s a cliffhanger. But it was so damn good that I would sleep on the sidewalk in front of the bookstore like a rockstar groupie to get the next book in my grabby hands. The line forms here…
I read this via ku and am leaving my review voluntarily. This book reads like a prequel and ends on a cliffhanger.
Triggers: talk of child sex abuse, assault
**spoilers**
First, this book gave alot of backstory. The m/c don’t even meet until about 50% in. There are explicit sex dreams they each have.
The m/c each have their own individual stories that play out before they meet.
There is a bit of mystery going on. Drama. An actual sexy time adventure.
Pasha, the man who should be the Roma King. Trying to deny his heritage, his fate.
Zara, young woman. Been dreaming of a man.
These two are drawn to each other. Chemistry is real. If you believe in soul mates, people who are fated to be with each other, the author has done a great job drawing you in.
The King finds his dream queen
Zara works as an emergency call dispatcher. One of the calls from a young boy stick with her, to the point that she receives a tip and decides to investigate herself since the police don’t seem to be doing much. However, she finds herself at a Fair unlike any she’s ever been to. However, this starts a cascade of events that I’m not sure Zara is ready for.
Pasha sees Zara at the Fair and when he sees her, he knows who she is and what she means to him
A really good story with lots of puzzle pieces that I’m still trying to figure out. Looking forward to Roma Queen next and getting all the answers
This book was full of mystery and superstition! Gypsies, The Roma people. Zara has been having dreams of a man she’s never met. Sexual dreams for years. She’s a 911 dispatch and when she gets a call from a little boy who goes missing, everything spirals out of control. Pasha has been having the same dreams about a women he’s never met, a women with fiery red hair he calls Firefly, but his mother warns him to stay away from the women in his dreams, that she will be the ruin of everything. But what could really happen? Is superstition real? Or is it all a hoax to cover someone else’s intentions.
This book was amazing!! Callie is such a great author and has quickly become one of my favorites! The mystery behind gypsies has always fascinated me. The fortune telling, the magic, it’s all so interesting. I’m really excited to read what’s next for Zara and Pasha!
Sexy, mysterious and fantastic! What did I just read!?! OMG! Not what I was expecting from the gal that gave us the fabulous Blood and Roses series but I’m not complaining because it was terrific! Callie does hot hunk heroes like no other. I’m a goner for the King! I’ll dream about Pasha any night or day. I love the Roma culture in this story with all the superstition and mysticism that goes along with it. The sights and sounds and smells jumped off the pages and wrapped me in a glorious otherworld that left me breathless. And talk about heroines. Another thing Callie does a stellar job of. Zara is terrific and badass. She is smart, determined, feisty and doesn’t take crap from anyone. Her connection with Pasha is something beyond the normal and is sizzling. The cast of secondary characters are fantastic too. Both the Romas and the Baker crew. Lots of characters for future stories. But first I have to know what will happen to this sexy couple after that WTF ending. My heart stopped for more than one reason. The only beef I might have is with Pasha’s jobs. I would think that with all the underground fighting he does that he wouldn’t be able to tattoo very well because his hands would be a mess. That aside, this story is a terrific beginning to a new series by a fantastic author. It’s suspenseful, mysterious, dangerous and sexy. I can’t wait for the installment and more of Pasha and Zara and the Romas. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC and bought the book. 4.5 stars
Having dreamed of each other for years, Pasha & Zara meet by chance while she is trying to track down a missing child. Pasha is a part of a Roma clan and is slated to be king, however, he doesn’t want the position. Zara & Pasha have this steamy attraction to one another and we’re brought together by fate. This book will leave you in suspense until you read the conclusion, Roma Queen. Absolutely amazing read!!
What a wonderful conclusion to this duet!!! It picks up right where Roma King leaves off. Secrets, twists, & turns revealed. Characters and a mystery from previous series are intertwined!! Nice Easter eggs!! I love Pasha & Zara!!
This is the second part of the duet after Roma King. I really liked the first book but it seemed like something was missing and this book, Roma Queen, is what it was. I’m trying to find the words to justify how much this book affected me and I’m coming up short.
The chemistry between Pasha and Zara is off the charts! The back story that comes in at times is gut-wrenching and had me sitting there with knots in my stomach and tears in my eyes. This story will give you all the answers and more that you were waiting for from the first one. You can tell that she put her heart and soul into this book and I absolutely love it!
Sorry Zeth Mayfair but Pasha Rivin just took the crown…wow.
I’ve been a fan of Callie’s for as long as I can remember and have ALWAYS loved her books, ALWAYS but this series…love isn’t a strong enough word. This series blew my damn mind, it was everything I hoped it would be and more.
The moment Callie announced this series, I knew without a doubt I would love it, what I didn’t realise was just how much I would. How much it would sink into my soul and captivate me. Pasha and Zara are a phenomenal couple and without a doubt my favourite couple of Callie’s by far.
Book two is so much more than book one but they’re both as equally amazing. Book two explains everything, it has you trying to guess what’s about to happen but leaving you shocked because the opposite happens. I’m not gonna lie, the plot twist in the middle knocked me for six because WHAT THE F JUST HAPPENED? I would have never of seen that coming which just goes to show how incredible Callie is as writing.
Pasha and Zara go through a heck of a lot in this book. Some strange and frightening things, things that’ll change their lives forever but they do it side by side and it’s that, that makes them as strong as they are. I’ve never seen a more incredible couple than these two. They were destined to be together, soulmates, just meant to be.
I’m so in awe right now of this book, this series. Callie has once again created a masterpiece and gave life to two phenomenal characters that won’t be easily forgotten. I sure do hope at some point we hear more from these two because getting to see what their future is like would be amazing.
Roma Queen was dark, sexy and delicious. Most definitely one of the BEST BOOKS OF 2019!
It’s a slippery slope down the rabbit hole kinda adventure, you’ll get to know how Alice felt!!
A book that starts with heartthumps & ends with heartthumps, it’s one edge of the seat thriller, with a heavy dose of otherworldiness mixed in. You won’t believe the magnetic connections unless you believe in Fate and this story leans heavily on that.
“You will obey me, Pasha. You will accept the crown. You will be married. And you will stay away from that woman in your dreams. She’s not for you, do you hear me? She’ll be the ruin of us all.”
It’s fate that Roma land in Spokane with Shelta on a mission to retrieve her king and reinstate her clan to its once lofty heights.
It’s Fate that the one dreaded phone call changes zara’s life forever.
It’s Fate that her Dream Man turns out to be Pasha Rivin, a forbidden pleasure.
Zara is the unsuspecting key to everybody’s existence, an innocent bystander turned unwilling cause of the impending doom!
Lots of arm twisting, blackmailing and covert pressures are being tooled to separate these two by the Hidden Powers that are manipulating and twisting their lives.
I’ve dreamed of the woman I’m supposed to be with for years. I’ve finally found her, finally met her, finally touched her with my own cursed hands. And if the vitriol that fuels my mother’s deranged heart is going prevent me from finally having her and keeping her to myself for the rest of time, then I will not fucking have anyone. To keep Zara safe, I won’t get involved with her. I’ll never marry, and I’ll never accept the crown.
They invade each others’ dreams and thoughts, it’s uncanny and eerie but it takes the story forward.
I see her so clearly in my dreams that it feels as though every aspect of her should be deeply engrained and burning in my memory, but no more than thirty seconds after I wake up, she vanishes from my subconscious and fades away, until only the mere shape and sense of her remains. She is like a ghost, hovering in the peripherals of my vision from morning to night, watching over everything I do in silence; the moment I turn my head, trying to catch sight of her one more time, she disappears in a puff of smoke.
It was such an enjoyable completely engrossing read, I fell in love with Pasha, with Zara, with Sarah, with Waylon, with quiet Garrett…the plot, the subject matter… I was mesmerized
Gypsies have been my fave trope to read and not many have been written about them. They are timeless mysterious tribe holding magical powers & abilities. And Callie is so skilled, this story just comes alive in her deft hands. She makes you believe in magic and voodoo and tarot cards and hexes and omens. All of this conflicts with our logical minds, yet I believed in it cause Callie made me a believer. Pasha and Zara are pining hearts, pulsating lust and encroaching love together, it was hot and breathless to watch them together
“I want you so bad, Firefly,”
“I need it more than anything else in the world.”
“More than air?” she whispers.
“Yes. More that air.”
“More than food?”
“Yes.”
“More than water?” I nod.
“More than sunlight? Or the wind? Or the moon hanging over the mountains at night?”
There are three stories running in it and none of them have gotten to completion yet, so that’s the sole reason for my half a star deduction. In fact Callie throws in a blast from the past in the already muddy waters and the piranhas who want to devour these love souls have the waters churning. CANNOT wait to read the second book now
4.5 stars:-Firefly & Raised by the Wolves
I finished this book and I’m still sitting here scratching my head, wondering what in the world did I just read? How in the world will all the pieces of the puzzle fit together with the release of Book 2!!! There are so many things to take into consideration, my mind is working overtime.
This book is a subject that I’ve not read about before. A Roma family and their traditions. I found it quite interesting. As it was a new to me subject. The way that ‘outsiders’ are treated very differently than someone born into the Roma family.
Then you bring in Zara, the 911 operator who is not a Roma. Yet she is attached to them without even knowing this. Her dreams, very erotica in matter are with an unknown man. Very vivid in matter and full of detail.
When that disturbing call comes in and the constant ringing of the pay phone outside her apartment… The story starts unfolding at a rapid pace.
The entire Roma family has made it back into town and is ready to crown the King.
But will the tables turn and force the Rivin family out of being the head of the Roma’s? Or will fate roll with the tarot cards and their King will be crowned?
Bring on Book 2 of this Duet!!! I’ve got to see how this author will explain and answer all the unanswered questions I’m left with when finishing Roma King!!!

Zara is an empathetic emergency dispatcher who gets caught up in a call she received and ends up being pulled into a world she knows little about. Add in the erotic and vivid dreams of a mystery man, non-stop ringing of a payphone outside her apartment building, and her life is turned upside down.
Enter dirty talking, extremely sexy Pasha. He may have been banished from the life he grew up with, but now he wants nothing to do with it…with them.
Callie writes the hottest book boyfriends…I need one to come visit me in my dreams too, please!! She knows how to weave a twisted tale that grabs your attention and dares you to turn away! It’s hard to even describe the chilling events and the emotions I felt reading this story…mysterious, creepy, bizarre would be a few words that come to mind. It’s going to be a long, impatient wait for Book 2!

I have read Callie Hart before but you know how you don’t do something for a long time and then you try it and it all comes back to you. That is reading Callie Hart.
This book starts out right with a bang. At first you are kind of like what is going on and what does this little boy have to do with anything. But Callie quickly brings it around to Pasha and Zara.
Pasha is the lost Roma King. Well not really. He just doesn’t want to be the king. So when his family comes knocking at his door after 3 long years he knows what it is about.
Zara is a 911 operator that gets a disturbing call, one that takes over her mind. When she finds out that the child she helped was actually kidnapped she knows she has to do something about it.
Man, I could not put this book down. I knew it would end on a cliffy but I didn’t care. I had to finish it. I can not wait for the next book!
This is the first book in a new duet from this talented author. Zara and Pasha are the proof that one phone call can turn a life around. These two have combustible chemistry between them. This author had outdone herself with this amazing masterpiece, and her detailed plot description helps to understand the Roma ways. This is a beautifully written flawless story, which is filled with passion and twists, all which had me totally captivated throughout, and I cannot wait to read the second part of this fantastic duet.
