Pasha Rivin’s trying to outrun fate. He’s been running from it for years now, but escape isn’t in his cards. As the oldest son of the oldest Roma family in the country, he’s not just a member of a proud and fiercely traditional clan. He is their reluctant king…and now he’s expected to find a wife.

She’s an outsider, an intruder, and as far as his family are concerned, she’s not welcome on their land, let alone in their king’s bed.

This book hooked me from the start, I loved it! Pasha Rivin is just my kind of man – a tall, dark, tattooed alpha with green eyes. Zara Llewellyn is a fiery, spirited redhead who won’t bow down to anyone, so when they meet the sparks fly!
Roma King is a bit different to other books, the two main characters don’t meet until halfway through, but up until that point, the story flows and the intrigue and suspense builds as their paths edge closer together. Zara works as an emergency dispatcher. When she receives a 911 call from a young boy, she finds herself unable to forget him, especially when she discovers afterwards that he has disappeared.
Mysterious phone calls in the night and a cryptic message sets Zara on a search for the missing boy, which leads her into the path of Pasha, the banished, uncrowned king of the Roma gypsies and his unfeeling, power hungry mother who is determined to keep them apart. But why? Pasha wants no part of the crown, the position or his family, he values his freedom, but he has been dreaming for years of a beautiful, sexy firefly of a redhead and he will not be denied. But are they pre-ordained or are there other forces at work?
This author has a fantastic writing style that drew me in and kept me glued to the pages. I loved the history, secrets and traditions of the Roma gypsies, I hope there will be a lot more on that side to come. Roma King is a sexy, hot suspense thriller, written with passion and a dose of mysticism….. or could it be called destiny…..or perhaps Roma magic? Whatever it is, after that ending I can’t wait to find out what happens in book two. 5 highly recommended Roma magic stars!
Callie Hart is amazing at writing books which are not your typical romance and this story is so mysterious and intriguing from the start. I love plots that are a little different, that don’t follow the norm, and Roma King ticked all the boxes for me.
I love hardworking Zara. An ordinary woman caught up in extraordinary circumstances, an amazing and baffling set of coincidences slowly turning her world upside down. Pasha is one gloriously sexy man, a fearless fighter and artist, who wears his bruises and tattoos with pride. I sense we have only scraped the surface of his personality and I’m eager to discover more about him. I absolutely love the otherworldly feel to the story, the suggestion that, despite never having clapped eyes on each other before, he and Zara are meant to be. Two souls, connected on a spiritual plain, drawn to one another by some inexplicable mystical force. The exploration of the Roma culture and lifestyle is fascinating and I hope we get to see more of that secretive world.
There’s a motley crew of supporting characters who I’m hugely curious about. I’d be thrilled to learn there was more to this strange, but seemingly unassuming lot than meets the eye.
Roma King is book one of the Roma Royals duet and it’s sexy and complex and thrilling. After the bombshell Ms Hart drops on us at the end, it would appear that our couple are set on a collision course. I’m keeping everything crossed that they, and we, are able to survive the impact.
4.5 Stars
He comes to her in her dreams, a man who is unlike anyone she has ever met, but when she wakes up, the details fade, leaving her with a sense of never being able to grasp the reality of what he truly means to her.
Zara Llewelyn is an emergency dispatcher who loves her job, her little apartment and her neighbors who make up her small group of unlikely friends. When odd things start happening in the wake of a 911 call, she finds herself drawn into a world that she never knew existed…
Pasha Rivin was banished by his Roma family who now wants him to come back and take his place as their leader. Too bad he likes his life without the confines of his past holding him hostage any longer. Zara is a woman he never thought he would meet, and he knows he should keep his distance… for her sake.

Roma King was an intriguing introduction to Zara and Pasha’s predestined love affair. With Callie Hart’s always excellent writing, this book was filled with the promise of incredibly hot sex and a storyline that possesses enough mystery to fuel an engaging narrative. I found it completely impossible to put this book down, and I am desperate for more…
When Zara is pulled into a case of a missing boy, she can’t stop herself from doing everything possible to help find out what happened to him. With a mysterious tip bringing her to the world of the Romas, she meets the arrogant Pasha and his less than welcoming extended family.
Pasha has built a life for himself since his banishment from his family. Owning a business and living in a permanent apartment, he has left his old ways behind, and has no plans to ever going back to them. Finally meeting Zara, his desire to pursue a relationship with her comes with an even sterner warning to stay far, far away from her.
While their connection is forbidden, Zara and Pasha can’t deny the outside force that pulls them to one another. And when the memories of their dreams become a steamy reality, their hesitation becomes less important by the second.
Zara was a character who I immediately loved. While she may seem sweet and unassuming, she has a backbone of steel and takes no BS from anyone, no matter how intimidating they are or out of her element she may be.
Holy moly, I could not get enough of Pasha, he was demanding and unforgettably sexy, and I feel like we have only scratched the surface on what he is capable of… and I can not wait to see more from him!!
This book was a slow burn beginning to what promises to be the incredibly hot and undeniably fascinating story set in the world of modern day Roma politics and deception. I am so invested in Zara and Pasha’s story, and I am very impatiently waiting for what happens next after the jaw dropping cliffhanger.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
Omg!
I wasn’t sure what to expect as I love the characters in the other books so wasn’t sure about something new. Once I started this amazing book I slapped myself as I should of known Callie would never ever disappoint. This book was everything and more that I love from this amazing author. Do yourself a favour and pre order today.
I was lucky enough to receive an arc.
Outstanding job Callie Hart. The character building and backstories don’t prepare you for the twists that lie ahead. When Pasha and Zara are finally brought together even more questions arise. This book had me guessing around every corner and when I reached the end all I could say is “one more page, please, just one more page” Can’t wait for book two!!!
This, without a doubt, is one of the best books of the year! Intricate, twisty plotting; strong, gorgeous leading characters in Pasha and Zara; a brilliantly different surrounding cast plus the enigmatic aura that clings to the Roma. All captured in what is just the first part of this duet. The tone of a pervading sense of dread and angst, is cleverly built via the spine chilling ringing phone, the call for help, the Midnight Fair; all a beautiful and intriguing cocktail which has a tinge of the lethal. Callie Hart has long been a go to author for me and Roma King further cements that position. An excellent, 5 star plus read.
This story was something diffrent. I loved delving into the Roma world, they’re a very secluded tight knit community who don’t care much for outsiders.
I loved the mysterious Pasha. Dark and dangerous he’s been estranged from his Roma family for a few years.
The travellers have been gone but now they’ve returned and want Pasha back where he belongs.
Zara is an emergency call centre operator who receives a disturbing call that she can’t forget about. It places her in a dangerous situation and into the path of the man of her dreams. It isn’t that simple though, the Roma don’t want Zara anywhere near Pasha…But why?
This book.was full of twists and turns. So many secrets, I didn’t know what to expect, who to trust but I’m excited to find out what’s in-store for Pasha and Zara. That ending has me all kinds of intrigued, I’m looking forward to book 2.
Holy shit, I’m still stuck in cloud nine after finishing Roma King. Brimming with intrigue, suspense and surprise turns, I devoured this read within twelve hours as everything about it is perfect! Zara and Pasha’s unique relationship, bound together by an intricate series of events, pulled me in—they made me fall in love with it. Every step of the way.
Callie Hart writes bad boy anti-heroes that will have you down on your knees begging and wanting more of them. They’re always damaged, oftentimes rebellious and dripping in tantalising naughtiness with a hint of buried sweetness that only the women they obsess over discover. If you’ve had the pleasure of meeting Zeth Motherfucking Mayfair, Pasha will capture your heart in similar fashion.
“I want to fucking consume her. There’s a part of me that wants to fucking destroy her, if only so no one will ever be able to look at her.”
Pasha Rivin is an anti-hero that will capture your attention straight away. He’s the epitome of tall, dark and handsome while simultaneously screaming titillating sin and veiled danger. He isn’t just wicked, full of cockiness and intimidation, and brandishing a filthy mouth that’ll leave your cheeks burning.
Pasha’s an enigma that you’ll want to learn more about. Destined to become a Roma king, a path paved with greatness, he craves freedom—to be free of responsibilities and superstitions and manipulative clan members. And the more you pry open, the more entranced and obsessed you’ll become with Roma’s upcoming king.
“I’ve done everything in my power to banish him from my thoughts, but there’s something about the man standing before me that won’t be quelled.”
Despite leading an independent simple life, Zara Llewelyn is an intriguing and compelling heroine. She’s filled with so much empathy and compassion, you can’t help but find her wonderfully endearing. I admire the strength and determination and ferocity she exudes—especially when confronted with unexpected situations that transform her humble routine into something more complicated.
Sometimes a glimpse of vulnerability will surface, making Zara a more real and relatable character. She isn’t easily intimidated though—her own sassiness and fierceness comes through when coming head-to-head with Pasha in verbal sparring.
“I take it back,” he rumbles. “You’re no nightmare, Zara Llewelyn. You’re every single beautiful dream I’ve ever had. And I don’t plan on letting you go now.”
When Zara and Pasha are together, your panties will melt and your heart will pound—they’re scorching and burning with intense chemistry and sexual tension. Roma King is teeming with suspense and premonitions, your jaw will drop in surprise. You’ll almost forget that this feels like a slow burn, forbidden romance between a Roma and gadje.
While there’s a suggestion that implies they know each other through predestined dreams—feeling almost paranormal—there’s no instant-love here, but rather instant-attraction. It doesn’t come across as unrealistic; instead it is an interesting example of Roma culture’s fascinating world.
Roma King is unique, a riveting story where the author weaves detailed segments into a captivating storyline filled with deep-rooted traditions and superstitions of an intriguing culture. If you’ve read, loved and obsessed over Callie Hart’s other series, I guarantee you’ll want to acquaint yourself with Pasha Rivin. Get ready—you’ll lose your panties, heart and mind to this Roma king dripping in sinful naughtiness and wicked cockiness.
Ever since Zara Llewelyn, a 911 operator, had a disturbing call from a little boy she can’t seem to shake it. Wondering what happened after a weird phone call from a pay phone outside her apartment, Zara decides to try to find out herself. Pasha has turned his back on his birthright. Deciding to open a tattoo shop has made his last three years of life have meaning until his Clan wants him back to take his rightful place in the Vitsa as their Roma King. When Zara accidentally meets Pasha they have a instant connection but danger lurks within that connection. She wants to find a missing boy, he needs a wife to claim his thrown. Told in dual POV and ends in a cliffhanger. If you love mystery and intrigue this is the book series for you! Cannot wait for the second Book!
This one was such a big hit with me: it had all of the ingredients that for me make a phenomenal reading experience and I really couldn’t put this down I was so invested right from the get-go here.
A relatively slow burn build up this managed to expertly ramp up the mystique and tension notch by delicious notch and by the time we eventually got some action between Pasha and Zara I was literally salivating with sheer anticipation.
And OMG!! the chemistry between these two was mahoosive and when in that bar he put the lime and salt on his hand and invited her to lick it off before having a taste himself and declaring her delicious well lets just say my tongue was hanging out like a real perv.
But I get ahead of myself: see the excitement.
So where to start: Well Roma king was a read I had such anticipation for and it delivered in spades: a two-parter the blurb here really appealed to my sense of intrigue and mystery.
Such a unique story with a superstitious almost soul-deep connection between two very different individuals with an almost across the barricades feel to it.
We have Zara a 911 responder whos been dreaming of her perfect man for the past few years: almost waiting for her life to kick start with the arrival of her heart and soul.
Through no fault of her own Zara’s fate is thrown headlong into mystery and mayhem when her path manages to cross that of Pasha: Exiled Roma: tattoo artist and cage fighter: almost in a way like a pre-ordained path they were both traveling on and fated to pursue.
From two very different cultures Pasha immediately recognises the firefly from his dreams and attempts to shield her from his mother’s wrath By unsuccessfully (thank god) takeing a step back from there mutual magnetism and attraction.
But there is so much more at play here than these two will eventually learn and actually understand.
So this was fantastic and I have so many questions pinging around my brain.
Pasha himself was such a crude rude but still ever so adorable individual.
What I loved most about this man was how unapologetically real he was when it came to his connection with Zara: there was no pretence or artifice behind his actions he just told it how it was: no gamesmanship ever so refreshing to behold.
Zara I thought she used her snarky attitude as a shield to shelter behind and protect her heart from damage and it’s apparent from this girls every action just how big that centre actually was.
These two were like kindling together dormant but ready to ignite with just one match.
When these two eventually start reading from the same page the heartful love scenes and narrative between them both were pure magic to witness.
“My heart is yours,” he whispers. “take it. Keep it. Burn it. It doesn’t matter what you do with it. It’s no good to me anymore. Not if it doesn’t belong to you.”
Sometimes Downright Dirty and direct as well: but also bold and brazenly beautiful.
“I’ve been hard since I walked through that door the first time three hours ago,” he growls “All of my blood is basically in my dick at this point.”
So questions I want answering:
what have the Russians and the boy got to do with the bigger picture?
And will they be a pivotal force in future dealings?
I’m curious to see how this author is going to connect the threads of this fascinating and enigmatic mystery in the chapters to come.
Of course, I have many other curiosities also: but these for me are where my main priorities lay at this moment after that big end-game reveal.
And I need that next bit of this puzzle like right now.
So I haven’t actually read anything by this author before: don’t know how that happened but I’m an actual newbie here I will certainly be checking out her back collection now as words can not describe how much I was digging this book.
Think its safe to say I am now a fan of this particular author.
I voluntary reviewed an Arc of Roma King.
