Love shouldn’t hurt… at least, that’s what everyone tells me. But when I’m with Ash? Not only does it hurt… but I beg for more.Ash Livingston is Hollywood’s bad boy A-list director. I’m Hollywood’s hardest working unknown costume designer just starting out in the industry. A nobody… but I’m nobody with a big secret.Never in a million years did I think he’d be my boss.Never in a million … boss.
Never in a million years did I think I’d learn about the man beneath the persona.
Never in a million years did I think I’d fall in love with him.
I might be unknown… but when I’m with Ash, I feel seen. I feel heard. I’m somebody. Even if it is all just role play.

I knew this book would be good, amazing, even but I never expected Ash and Lucy. This is the book you never knew you needed but always wanted. My heart shattered into a million pieces only to be beautifully put back together. These two characters are so real, so broken and so perfect for each other. Katana Collins writing is pure eloquence, every word, phrase, chapter, so much everything. And the manatees, sighing wistfully. This book will stay at the top of my best reads of 2019!
5 Amazing Hollywood Stars!
This Silhouette Studios series continues to be absolutely incredible! The characters and stories are amazing! Role Play is very entertaining, steamy, sexy and emotional. Lucy and Ash are both such wonderful and deeply developed characters who Katana has made so perfectly imperfect and lovable! I love her writing style and her ability to connect the reader to her characters. It makes the story so much better! I was team Lucy and Ash from the beginning. Both Lucy and Ash, even with their age difference, have basically become victims of their own pasts and their experiences clearly shape their current behavior. They have an undeniable chemistry from the beginning that will soon prove to be too impossible to ignore. Their story is heartfelt as much as it is sexy and their extremely hot physical interactions are really just a small piece of who they truly are together. It is really outside of the bedroom where their story is so emotional and compelling that makes their relationship so special. They definitely do not have an easy time having any kind of relationship until they are able to face the past head-on and together! I just love a happy ending!!
My new favorite from Katana Collins. I say this about every book she writes, but she always finds a way to top herself over and over again! This book not only had all the feels, all the swoons, but also made me laugh out loud. The connection between these two was on fire. Katana did such a great job making me feel everything they were. There were many scenes I was just holding my breath waiting to find out what was going to happen. Loved that we got both sides with the book being in both of their POV. But even if it wasn’t “their chapter” I could still feel both of their emotions. As always Katana paints such a beautiful picture with her words that it made if seem I was there and could see what she described. And OMG, I don’t think I’ve ever swooned this hard over someone eating a brownie!!! If you are even thinking of reading this book go one click right now!
This story is about 2 damaged people Ash and Lucy that meet and through BDSM come together and face what has happened to them in the past and help each other heal. This is a good story so I recommend this book.
WOW! Just freaking wow! For those readers who have read Callback, you know how we have been waiting for the next book in the series to come out, and I will tell you, Role Play did not disappoint! Ash and Lucy’s story is emotional, funny, sassy, sexy as all get out, and so very well written. I loved the chemistry between these two, loved the dynamics on the set and the emotional side of Ash that just made my heart hurt. The manatees were perfect, cried through the ending and the bonus clip of this book, which makes it a winner in my eyes. I adore this author, she knows how to make a reader want to keep turning the pages in her books, keeps us laughing, and damn, during those steamy scenes, well you know what I’m talking about! If you haven’t read Callback yet, do it. Role Play is definitely a standalone, but some of the characters are carried over, so not only will you be reading a great book in Callback, but you will be able to piece everything together in Role Play. Can’t wait to see what she has for us next!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
From book one I had an expectation of what Ash’s book would be like and I’m happy to say I was pleasantly surprised.
Ash is a man tormented by his past and the decisions he makes regarding his personal life before understandable when you get his backstory. Lucy is a young with her own baggage who bounces into his life when she starts work on his movie. As with the previous books the BDSM lifestyle is explored in such a way that it never feels over the top the way some books do.
The story for me was more emotional than the previous one. The story explores many themes love and loss being obe. They have a connection but is it enough to build on and let go of the past.

I’ve been waiting for this book since I read Callback last spring. And my wait was justified!! I FLOVED Ash & Lucy’s story!! Ash is broken. He’s been holding on to the pain from his wife’s death. Every one sees him as a playboy. He doesn’t do relationships. Lucy, well, she has her issues, a major one being that she’s Ash’s boss’s niece…and she doesn’t want anyone to know nepotism helped her land her job in costume. Both of them have their issues. Ash is irresistibly drawn to her (slightly problematic because he slept with her immediate boss) and she triggers issues for him because of the late wife. Lucy wants to be with him, including his kinks but she has to get past her family issues that have messed with her head. I love how the bdsm is dealt with. The book is HOT, but also tragic. They both have to face some major issues within themselves and each other. Hot, sweet, tender, a little dark, and a lot of fantastic. Loved every word. I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
