The offer – $20 billion split between four leading scientists on alternative energies to purchase and then squash their research lines, which include the recent discovery of a powerful new energy source capable of replacing mankind’s reliance on fossil fuels. There’s no doubt their discovery is worth ten times that much. But will any one of them live if they refuse? At the same time, the greatest … the same time, the greatest technological advancement in warfare since the creation of the Atomic bomb has been discovered, and is being offered to the highest bidder.
There is just one problem though; the seller might no longer have any control of the weapon.
Can Sam Reilly weave his way through the web of industrial and political espionage before the human race loses its greatest fight for survival?

I was really disappointed in the end. But the book was a fun read
I truly love the Sam Reilly books but I have to say that some parts get a bit technical for me.
However, there is plenty of action, adventure and suspense in bucketloads.
So I’m happy ,
Another great adventure journey shared.
I enjoyed Christopher Cartwright’s writing style; easy to read, flows well. This story is full on action from the first page and it keeps going throughout, from one disastrous scenario to the next. A thrilling ride on these rogue waves that are awesome to the imagination, glowing phosperescence and gigantic coming straight for Luke, must have been terrifying. A captivating concept creating the rogue waves that fascinated me. Sam Reilly and his cohorts are constantly living on the edge and finding ways to escape. Loved it. This is my first Sam Reilly story but it won’t be my last, thanks Christopher for a very pleasurable read.
Another great adventure!
This was a really great book!
Good stories, good characters, somewhat of an anticlimactic ending. The political views of M. Cartwright come out in his books and may be a little unnecessary to the story.
Just- no. Repetitive; many times too ‘sciency’ (clearly the author did his research, and he wants his readers to know only too well that he did) – to the point where I’d be like, ‘I ‘got it’ already!’ – on MANY occassions. I ended up skipping chapters, and didn’t miss anything because exposition was repeated so often. The narrator sure didn’t add to my listening enjoyment. Not sure how to describe his reading style — but it was boring/annoying/cliche’/articulation. I really wanted to like this series, and tried several books, but between the narrator and immature writing style, I stopped after 3 books – this and the following 2. (I had hoped each in the series would show the writer’s growth and maturity. Alas….)
Long winded narrative. Hero knows everything about everything making him quite bland. There are some really interesting and cool set pieces but they get lost in the muddy tropes and style.
Interesting and quick read
It was original. Good ending.
Very good read
This lost me. I am a scientist and I just couldn’t get into this book
story is so unrealistic that it’s hard to stay with. Shallow character development. No research put into the story line. Not worth the time to read it.
Another Sam Reilly book. This has great characters and interesting plot that’s on the cutting edge of scientific possibility. Lots of plot twists.
Rogue Wave
Sam Reilly, Book 4
By: Christopher Cartwright
Narrated by: David Gilmore
This is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary. I loved this book best so far in the series! Although it has sci-fi which I love, I had to stretch my imagination a bit but it was still good. That is what books are for anyway, to escape. I loved the premise of the story which I am not telling or it will spoil everything. Once you read it you will see why. Rogue waves are fascinating and horrifying at the same time, I guess that is what really draws me to this also.
The narrator is great for the Sam Reilly novels, a slightly gruff voice that you would expect a manly man to be, lol. He surprises me when he is able to do the females so well.
As with all his books, Christopher Cartwright keeps you interested from page one to the end. Then you hope the next book comes out soon.
Sam Reilly books are really good. They stuff they go after it totally unbelievable but Cartwright makes them believable. Real page turners.
Highly recommend this one!
It keep me interested
What the author doesn’t know about deep diving, wreck diving and cave diving could fill a book, oh . . . in fact he did.
