Rogue Elements is the 2nd book in the Gamma Sequence series. A top-notch medical thriller that successfully merges politics, ethics and science into an astounding page-turner. Get ready for deviant corruption that reaches into the upper echelons of politics, genetic engineering at its worst, a breath-taking highspeed chase and so much more!
I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
#2 is as good as #1, if not better! WOW!! The twists and turns are phenomenal!! ~ especially for a voracious reader like me, who usually guesses what’s coming next. I CAN’T GUESS!! And even when I do, I’m way off base ~ this is EXCELLENT and I’m jumping into #3 right now!
Way too Unrealistic….not the science, the action!
Read the first in the series. Was an ok read.
Finished this book as an obligation to the author (he took the time to write it…least I could do was finish it).
3 Stars
I loved the Gamma Sequence and didn’t know how this one could be better. But I was wrong. It starts out with a favorite character from the fist one being killed. It grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go. New characters plus some old, lots of plot twists, for me I wasn’t sure who Hank should trust. The end is a schocker and when the 3rd one is ready, I am still not sure who all should be trusted. Lots of action and very much a thriller. I am ready for the 3rd.
Another nail-biting book from Mr. Alatorre. We get more of the story in this book that follows along for the search for Dr. Hauser, a man that doesn’t seem to die! Is he real or is he Memorex? Their are so many twists and turns you can get whiplash if you’re not careful. It’s anybodies guess as to who is the good guy or the bad guy. You’ll have to read to find out and even then you may not be totally right. But oh boy, it’s worth the ride!
Rogue Elements (The Gamma Sequence #2), my fifth read from author Dan Alatorre. I don’t restrict myself to a particular genre. I’m a sucker for anything with memorable characters and a story that keeps me guessing and a plot that keeps me turning the page & this book did, continuing seamlessly from The Gamma Sequence! I bought this book back in December after reading The Gamma Sequence & one thing lead to another & I’m just now getting around to reading & reviewing it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
This is the second great book in this series. There was a lot of twists and turns that kept me interested throughout the story. I have the next book in the series and I can’t wait to read it. I have enjoyed all the books by Mr. Alatorre, he is a great story teller. I received an ARC of this book from the author and this is my voluntary review.
Hank DeShear fights his body’s shutdown as he pursues a human trafficking cartel – 5 stars
If it wasn’t for the bullets, car chases and clever deceptions, Rogue Elements would be a fast moving travelogue – except that there is no time to look at scenery, just countdown timers, muddy fields and winter drizzle.
One researcher has developed the almost perfect ‘drone’ – soldier, sex worker, dangerous conditions worker or organ ‘donor’ – in a living, breathing human body with blood in its veins controlled by software.
Teams of thugs are employed to protect the business. Bribery cuts through many governments.
While being medically treated for a life threatening illness, Hank DeShear manages to keep a level head in the midst of mayhem. He is accompanied much of the time by a medical expert who is trying to give a rigorous drug regimen.
The British MI6, the US CIA and even the Vice President of the United States provide help when it is needed.
People switch between ‘good guy’ and ‘bad guy’ roles in a plausible way, ramping up the excitement and terror as the story unfolds.
One car chase and gun fight winds up when the two vehicles crunch to a stop between 16th century walls as the street narrows.
There is intense excitement and betrayal throughout with a promise of more to come in the third book of the Gamma Sequence series.
Highly recommended.
I absolutely love Dan Alatore’s storytelling ability. His genuine love of writing shines through in all genres he writes.
I thought the Gamma Sequence couldn’t be beaten, but Dan did it. The second in the series is better than the first! The twists will keep you second-guessing yourself. From the beginning scene to the end, you won’t be able to put it down. So purchase a copy of this book (and the first) and enjoy the thrilling ride!
