I felt that you needed to read the first book to really get this one. The author does weave a quick recap into the story. The story picks up where the first book ends. There is danger coming for Shana’s pack but she doesn’t know who she can trust, other than Jeb. One of the newly rescued wolves that found refuge with Dara may be able to help, but she could also be the one that brings trouble to Shana’s doorstep. The story did not completely hold my attention. I found myself skimming at times because the details of past issues that were already covered seemed to drone on and on. There were a few things in the plot that left me questioning how. There were several twists in the story that I didn’t see coming. This was just okay for me. 2.5 stars

Shana is back and in charge of her pack. Buit has only been a few months and long lost family come visiting and set in motion a fight for her life again. It kept me guessing and reading and had a few surprises along the way. Loved the twist of who the bad guy really was but I groaned at it too. It was not a light hearted shifter story but more on the darker side but it did keep me reading. Also got to know Shana as well as new and old characters and their motivations.
I am loving this series! Shana is a badass chick and I absolutely want my own Jeb!
And shockingly, I’m really liking Rena and Alma, both very resilient women.
The character development and growth was amazing, even if I didn’t care for certain characters, but that’s the book world and I looked forward to reading more in this series!

Makes me wish I could afford Book One! Shana is everything I would want to be – Not the anger issue, just tough, hard, strong in all the right ways. with the side of softness that she holds for her human mate Jeb and those too weak or damaged to fight for themselves. Highly recommended.

This is the second ARC book I’ve had by this author. I loved the first book I read by her, this one isn’t holding my attention like I thought it would. It felt like the author reluctantly wrote some of the scenes, I’m just struggling getting into it.
