Rachel Malone’s heart has been broken and stomped on by her cheating ex, and she’s determined to never fall in love again. But a rebound fling? Doesn’t sound like such a bad idea, especially when she’s snowed-in with a gorgeous, sweet-talking Coleman.
Despite their off-the-charts chemistry, Lee makes it clear he wants more than a temporary romp. In fact, he’s made it his mission to put a smile back on her face, even if it means taking it slow and resisting the scorching heat between them. Lee can’t wait to prove her wrong…

The Rocky Mountain series is also terrific. Vivian Arend’s characters are just awesome.
I’m somewhat disappointed because I’ve read several books in this series and this was my least favorite one. I just didn’t connect with the story. I found it bland with no excitement but that will not hinder me from reading other books in the series. Until next time y’all happy reading.
Happy Beginnings
Rachel is at the cabin to get herself together after finding out her almost ex husband had been cheating on her forever. Lee is taking care of the cows because of an expected storm and his sled broke down. They end up in the cabin she is staying in, but it’s the start of the relationship.
Lee has loved Rachel for quite a while and even asked her out but she wouldn’t go. Rachel ended up marrying Gary but caught him cheating. She runs off to a cabin in the mountains for a few days to think. Lee was checking on the ranch and a storm was coming and he was near the cabin and he finds Rachel there. They spend a few days together. A standalone with an HEA!!! Pretty good book!!
What do you do while in at a remote cabin with the one man who makes you feel safe? Rachel and Lee know each other since they live in the same small town in Alberta, Canada. Lee felled in love with Rachel 9 months ago but didn’t let his feelings be known. Now they are trapped during a white-out and he vows to keep it platonic. Ms. Arend writes a steamy story that will keep you turning the pages just to see if they survive the white-out and to see if the heat between them blossoms into something special.
I recommend the series
I’m surprised I didn’t like this one better. I have loved all the characters in this series, so I figured I would really enjoy this one. I didn’t really care for the two many characters. It wasn’t a HORRIBLE book, just not as great as the others in this series that I’ve read.
This book is part of a series but it is a stand-alone and can be read without reading the other books. With that being said, it was O.K. The book description sounded good but the actual book was a little boring with everything happening quickly and a little too perfectly. A fairly quick read with a HEA.
I love it when a guy has to really work for the woman he wants, and it’s even better when there’s a HEA.
I enjoyed these characters so much! This book is definitely a feel-good story!
Nice story enjoyable book
Good story by a talented author… I belong to a site that offers e-books at reducing rates. I choose based on two criteria – the ‘cover art’ and the ‘description’. Those novels that I read and like, I take a ‘closer look’ at the other l novels by that author. I have some ‘author collections’ with 20, 25, even 30 ebooks. This story is very definitely one that I will look for future ‘reads’…
A quick relaxing afternoon read. Entertaining storyline to keep you wanting to read more.
I enjoyed meeting Lee and Rachel. How refreshing to have the woman older than the man and still having a heart felt connection. I felt so bad for her staying in that isolated cabin alone, and what a treat to have Lee come and help her through it. Now, with all that praise for the story, I felt the sexual scenes were way too graphic. I enjoy reading that two characters are enjoying each other, but prefer not to have such lavish descriptions.
Light on angst but that just made it more realistic. Liked that their relationship developed over time.
As usual Vivian Arend didn’t disappoint with the Six Pack Ranch Series!
Believable story line. Romantic! I like the family line it took. The give and take from The brothers seem so realistic.
Loved this story! Rachel goes to a cabin to get away and heal from her cheating ex-husband. Lee happens upon the cabin as a blizzard approaches, they get snowed in together and become close. He knows he loves her and wants to be with her forever. Now he just has to ease her into the idea that he’s different than her ex.
I was a little disappointed in the ending because of the introduction of several family members that kind of muddied the waters of the happy ending for the central characters.
The author depends on erotica (what used to be known as soft porn) to carry the day. The plot was strong enough that she could have focussed on the story itself. Sad.
