New York Times Bestselling Author Vivian Arend brings you the first STAND ALONE book in the bestselling SIX PACK RANCH series.————-Sometimes love is right there for the taking.Responsible oldest of six brothers, Blake Coleman knows his desire for the sweet girl-next-door is wrong. While Jaxi has grown into a western-hat-wearing blonde with slim legs that go on forever, the responsible … western-hat-wearing blonde with slim legs that go on forever, the responsible thing to do is keep his hands off.
Jaxi has other plans for Blake’s hands, and his heart. She’s more than ready to convince him they’d be perfect together, but he can’t seem to see past the big “don’t touch” sign that’s apparently hanging around her neck.
When Jaxi ends up living on the Six Pack ranch right under Blake’s nose, the undeniable heat between them slides off simmer and up to barn-burning levels. When a couple of Blake’s younger brothers decide Jaxi’s brand of trouble is worth getting tangled up with, Blake’s going to have to let go the reins and fight for what he really wants—her heart, forever.
Warning: Unapologetically sexy, this book contains cowboys seducing and being seduced: in trucks, pool halls, and barns. Drool-worthy country charm, a little double-teaming, and a lot of secrets are revealed as the Coleman family saga begins. Saddle up and ride.

I started with the later books
I guess I’m reading in reverse order because I started with Matt’s book then I read Daniel’s. I think the Twin’s are in there somewhere and now I’ve got Blake. And Daniel’s is by far the worst. This one is more sweet than hot and since I’ve already read everyone’s book I know all. I realized I’ve read Travis as well. So read all of Six Pack now. Matt, Blake, Twins, Travis and Daniel in order of worth reading.
Fun read and a great way to start out a series
1/8/19 – This was fun and easy to read. I struggled to put it down until the end. It’s lighthearted with plenty of funny and dirty bits. I liked that there wasn’t complete focus on two characters. It a fantastic introduction a whole family and what makes them tick.
UPDATED 12/2020: I still love this book! Arend does a great job of building this family. Making you feel like a part of it. I know I mentioned this before but I really love how she brought all of the brothers in, as well as some other family members and slowly starts setting up future books in the series. I haven’t read blurbs for the other books but I could easily see them being BDSM, ménage, second chance, and single parent to warm things up.
This time around, I added audio to the experience. I enjoyed Tatiana Sokolov (aka Tanya Eby) at the mic. There was the occasional Canadian accent that added the right tone to the characters.
Story: 5 stars
Narration: 4 stars
Rocky Mountain Heat – Vivian Arend – Jaxi has been after Blake Coleman for most of her life, and at 21 she has decided that she is tired of waiting for him to get smart. When Blake’s mom needs some in home help after an accident, Jaxi uses the opportunity to be underfoot showing off her ranch house management skills to the rancher she wants to take care of forever. Large and quirky ensemble cast! Lots of hijinks! Happy Reading!
“Rocky Mountain Heat” (nook) is an intriguing beginning to the “Six Pack Ranch” series. I was a bit surprised at some of the occurences with Blake’s brothers and I look forward to reading their stories. This one is a HEA – my favorite kind of ending.
Oh my! Adults only book. But a naughty good read.
This is my first book by this author. I loved the setting in the Northern Rockies of Alberta. I love the Coleman family. Each brother is hot and intriguing. I want to know more about all of them. There are secrets that each brother holds that I am sure will be exposed later in the series. This book is written in third person with multiple POV so sometimes the reader is given a glimpse into the other brothers and not just Blake and Jaxi.
Blake is likable and very concerned about the age difference of 10 years between him and Jaxi. Jaxi is determined that she has been in love with Blake forever and sets out to win him. This book has some hot scenes, no doubt. Jaxi is headstrong but I admire her sense of purpose.
Overall I liked the story and I would like to read more from this series.
What a steamy series!
Love reading about the Colemans and what goes on in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. Hope to visit there on an upcoming trip for KallypsoCon and want to read as many of the story’s Viv has set there before I go. This was a great start to what my readers tell me is a fantastic series. So far, I agree!
Not a prude but the “romance” was pornography. Wonder if those scenes were written with/ by a male. I read “Un clean” romance all the time and have been married for quite a few years so not a virgin by any means. Plot line was ok.
Very sexy cowboy story. Love the Six Pack Ranch Series and can’t wait to read more! It is very interesting to see the brother’s compete for the attention of the same young woman, the outcome is fitting and satisfying.
I enjoyed the family dynamics as well as the relationship between Blake and Jaxi. This was a quick read but character development was complete including the main side characters.
Good story but too detailed about the sex part
Loved the story up until brothers sharing/observing intimate sex scenes. Yuck!!
Good read but some racy sex scenes
Couldn’t put it down.
Great family story set on the Six Pack ranch. Loved the relationship that develops between Blake and Jax.
Blake & Jaxi’s story was a great read. Not many women train themselves to be a rancher’s wife any more, but Jaxi set her goal early in life and pursued it. A fulfilling story!
Not one of her best by Ms. Arend. The plot was not original nor well written. I’m onto her next in hopes it delivers a bit more in character development and plot.
I just wanted to keep reading and not stop. I like al of Vivian Arend’s books. I always check for when her next one comes out.
Ok
