Rocky Mountain HEAT is Lori Wilde’s 4th book of the Wedding Veils series, formerly published as All Of Me. Blurb: Attorney Jillian Samuels doesn’t believe in true love and has never wished for a happily ever after. But when a searing betrayal leaves her jobless and heartbroken, a newly inherited cottage in Salvation, Colorado, seems to offer a fresh start. What she finds instead is a partially naked yet gorgeous but most infuriating man sleeping on the couch of her new home.
Tuck Manning was a gifted architect who left a skyrocketing career to care for a dying wife. His quiet life in Salvation is turned upside down by Jillian simply walking–uninvited into his house and found him asleep on the couch. The nerve of the woman! Yet, he refuses to back down as the two resolve to live as roommate until they untangle who owns the cottage. No problem, except for one teeny problem: Heat of attraction. The more they try to ignore the heat simmering between them, the hotter their attraction becomes.
Rocky Mountain HEAT has wit and humor and a small town of wonderful secondary characters. The most memorable character is Tucker’s brother-in-law, Ridley, a Native American and his sweat lodge. I find myself chuckling as I follow Jillian and Tuck as they struggle to get alone and fight that annoying heat. Where there’s heat, there’s fire. Not even a blizzard could cool them down. The depth of their pain and loss appear runs deep, and people deals loss differently. Lori Wilde cleverly creates a poignant tale of about two people finding healing through their loss and true love.
After everything in her life implodes Jillian Samuels is left harboring a broken heart and without a job… things in her life couldn’t possibly get any worse. Then she receives a bit of good news, her mentor, who recently passed, left her a cottage in the little town of Salvation, Colorado. It seems as if she has just been handed the keys for a perfect fresh start, and she can’t help but be a little excited about what is waiting for her. That is until she discovers what is waiting for her on the other side of the cottage door!
Between the pages of Rocky Mountain Heat readers will find a heart-squeezing second chance romance story brimming with drama and feels! These two were both looking for new beginnings, just not ones that involved love… unfortunately for them love didn’t get that memo! There was a lot of past hurt, healing, and emotional baggage to sort through here, my poor heart broke for these two. But as much as they had trying to keep them apart, there was still a lot of love and attraction to hold them together… and it was quite a beautiful thing to watch unfold. I really enjoyed this one, the words drew me in instantly, and the characters completely stole my heart!
