A Cowboy’s Christmas Wish When bullfighter Tucker McGrath’s mom suffers a minor heart attack just before Christmas, he decides it’s time to redeem himself from the Ghost of Christmas Failures Past. Knowing how much his mom loves the town’s annual Christmas pageant, he agrees to take her place as director even though he has zero experience wrangling kids. That’s not the only complication with … only complication with taking on the pageant, either. There’s also the tempting but off limits local music teacher Kenna Hart.
A year after her husband’s scandalous betrayal and their divorce, Kenna is doing her best to move forward and give her two boys a magical Christmas. When she volunteers to help with the pageant, she doesn’t expect to reconnect with her old high school heartthrob. Tucker McGrath has always been Mr. No-Strings-Attached, so he’s definitely not one to fall for…or is he? The more time she spends with him, the more Kenna realizes Tucker has changed. And now he might just be the cowboy who can make all of her Christmas wishes come true.

I have been totally stressing out about Christmas, trying to finish buying and wrapping presents, and running errands. I decided to take a break and read for a few minutes. I wish I had done so earlier; this story was a good reminder of the important things that truly make up Christmas.
Tucker’s father walked out on him when he was 17, and he hasn’t forgiven his dad. Kenna is a single mother with two adorable boys. Her husband was a swindler who took money from lots of people in town. Neither was looking for a relationship, but then they met each other… What follows is a sexy, sweet and uplifting story perfect for the season. Themes such as forgiveness, hope, memories and opening one’s heart are powerfully woven together without being maudlin or preachy. You’ll root for these two lovely people. Try reading without any tears or smiles. Bet you can’t!

4 1/2 STARS FOR THIS CHRISTMAS STORY!! A Sweet Perfect Christmas novella. Tucker and Kenna’s story was so amazing for this time of year. I loved everything about this story, Sara Richardson has done a beautiful job with this book.
Rocky Mountain Cowboy Christmas is a short, stand alone novella by Sara Richardson. This is my very first book by Sara. It’s sweet and pretty much contains everything that defines the true meaning of Christmas.
It’s been a year since Kenna Hart’s life fell apart. Since her husband, now ex-husband swindled the members of their small town, Topaz Falls. Now she is a single parent to her four and seven year old sons, Benny and Jake. The town looks at her like she’s a wounded bird and she’s tired of it. It’s Christmas and she has agreed to help her friend, Birdie, with the town’s Christmas pageant. Her boys are beyond excited about playing their parts in it. Somehow this pageant has renewed all three of their faith in Christmas.
Tucker McGrath is Birdie’s son. He went to high school with Kenna but was a couple of years ahead of her. He did remember her and he also knew of what she’d been through this past year. Tucker has suffered a dark spot in his past as well and hasn’t celebrated Christmas for the last fifteen years. But when his mom becomes ill, he promises her he will help Kenna with the pageant. There was something there when he was near Kenna. But Tucker doesn’t do relationships, especially with women with kids. But he just can’t seem to get her off of his mind.
“For the first time, he felt like his life was missing something.”
Kenna knows it’s time to move on. She hasn’t let herself go there ever since her life fell apart a year ago. She has used all her energy in making sure her boys were happy. She had harbored a huge crush on Tucker back in high school but this Tucker all grown up was even better. There is a spark between them but everyone knows Tucker doesn’t do relationships.
“She needed to know it was possible to still feel something.”
This was such a sweet story. First, even though Kenna had her world turned upside down when everything fell apart, she made sure her sons didn’t hold any bad feelings against their dad. That they didn’t hold a grudge against him. I honestly don’t think I could have been that forgiving or strong. Tucker seemed to know just how to help Kenna and the boys gain confidence. He knew when to help and when to stand back. What he didn’t trust was his own heart. He had some forgiving he needed to do before he could move forward as well.
This is one of those short, sweet, feel good stories that remind you what Christmas is all about. The power of love. These two boys are adorable and are sure to steal your heart.
4.5 Stars for “Rocky Mountain Cowboy Christmas”
I really enjoyed this cute, short read from Topaz Falls. I loved getting a peek at this town during Christmastime and returning to my beloved characters again. Highly recommend this story as well as the Rocky Mountain Riders series!
Amazing…Christmas Magic! Sara Richardson gives up a book of love and hope for the holidays.
Kenna has demons for her past because of her ex – husband and Tucker because of when his father left when he was younger. When Kenna and her sons Jake and Benny it frightens Tucker to the point of wanting to run. The beauty of forgiving and love will make everyone have a Merry Christmas
A couple of notes before I get to my actual review. I didn’t realize until I started reading this story that it was part of the wonderful Rocky Mountain Riders series. It’s not (yet) listed as such on Goodreads, but it’s obvious that it comes after the 4th book, True-Blue Cowboy, that I haven’t yet read. That being said, you do not have to read the other books in this series to enjoy this short story. And it’s definitely worth the read.
All. The. Feels. That is how I describe this story. I had butterflies going pretty much through this entire book. Tucker and Kenna are just so perfect for each other. Not to mention, Tucker and Kenna’s boys. It is all just beyond cute. But not in a sickly overdone way. Just in a perfectly written, tug at your heartstrings way.
It’s not always easy to write a short story like this without things seeming rushed or like things are being left out. I have been greatly enjoying the full length novels in this series. Sara Richardson really proves she has excellent writing chops that she found such a perfect balance of short, sweet, and sexy in this story.

I really enjoyed this book over all. I loved being able to catch up with the other characters from this series as well. I really enjoy when and author can take a child and have there personality shine through on the pages and the author did that with not just one child but three it added hugely to a fun story. This is a short read but packed with a lot fun and emotions you will find your self laughing and crying. Over all this book shows what Christmas, Family and forgiveness is all about. You will not be disappointed with this fun read. I think the only thing I did not like about this book is that it was too short. There is adult situations in this book. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion
After a year of dealing with her husbands crazy betrayal Kenna is determined to do her best and make this a memorable Christmas for her boys. She volunteers to help out with the local Christmas pageant. What she didn’t expect was running the pageant with none other than Tucker McGrath the hot rugged cowboy she has had a crush on since high school. Kenna was helping his mother with the pageant when she suffered a minor heart attack. As Kenna spends time with Tucker she realizes there is a magical connection between the two.
Tucker McGrath has been MIA for Christmas for the past 15 years. He has never enjoyed this time of year since his dad left their family when he was in his teens. When his mom suffers a minor heart attack he decides to redeem himself and tries to make it up to his mom for all those years by making this Christmas a magical one. He starts by taking on the pageant with Kenna Hart. He finds himself feeling things for Kenna he has never felt for a woman before, but he fears he is like his dad and will not be able to commit to a relationship. Kenna can see that Tucker has changed his ways from his wild childhood.
Will she be able to make him see that he has changed? Can the magic of Christmas bring these two a new found happily ever after?

The latest Rocky Mountain Riders installment, Rocky Mountain Cowboy Christmas by Sara Richardson is the perfect Christmas escape. Her latest novella brings the Christmas spirit in a short, bite size package. I loved Tucker and Kenna. Their story was the perfect blend of Christmas magic and the true spirit of Christmas forgiveness. It is no secret that I will read anything that Richardson writes, but this is definitely one of my favorites.
