It was lyrics at first sight when I saw Violet Rhodes across that crowded party. She was lights and darks, swirled together. Music in motion. And all of it while looking like a hitwoman at an Elvis convention. I had nothing to offer the intriguing girl but a one-night stand. I figured I’d revel in my last night of anonymity before my first tour and shoot her a quick “We’ll always have L.A.!” … L.A.!” goodbye the next morning.
But nothing went according to plan.
In one night, Violet crawled under my skin and into my bloodstream. She tattooed her name across my chest and between my legs. She became my muse. And then she was gone.
Now, months later, here she is again. And in a twist I never saw coming, it turns out Violet is ultra-violet radiation. Beautiful, ethereal light bringing with her the promise of damage and destruction.
My brain tells me to walk away from this girl, but my heart can’t stop feeling like she might be one of a kind . . . the sort of girl who comes along once in a violet moon.

When Lauren Rowe announced she was finally writing the story of my favorite Rockstar Dax Morgan of 22 Goats, I was beyond excited. I feel like I have been waiting for his HEA since I met him. I didn’t know what to expect butI knew Lauren would hit this out of the park from the beginning. There was something so magmatic happening from the moment Dax lays his eyes on his muse Violet. The story was so captivating and pulled me in from the first word, it is written in that pure Lauren magical way, that will bring out all the feels. Not only will you have tears steaming down your face from laughing at the classic Morganisms, you will also have a few tears when you reach the end of this epic journey simply because you reach the end. This book is a powerhouse from Lauren but the fact that she manages to write full musical lyrics that will make your heart hurt and heal all at once, makes this an extra special treat. This is why Rockstar is a Must Read book, and definitely a Top Recommendation of 2019. This deserves nothing less than 5 stars.
Loved this book so hard!!! Not only was Dax sexy AF but the chemistry between him Violet was phenomenal!! The story was amazing and full of laughter and some crazy twists!! I want definitely want more stories in the Morgan Family wailer!!
Daxy finds his HEA
Daxy’s story was everything I hoped for. The baby of the Morgan family may be a hot, sexy, talented rockstar, but he is also completely dreamy and like every other Morgan, when he falls he falls hard. Violet is sweet, sexy, talented, and a perfect match for our Dax. Absolutely loved this book! We get all our Morgans and their loved ones. Absolutely fabulously fantastic.
Having read every single book that Rowe has written, I have to admit I was putting off reading this title because I simply didn’t want the epic journey to end. But, if it had to end, what a way to go!
Emerging as an up and coming rock star, Dax Morgan has the love and support of his family and is about to have everything he ever dreamed of and worked so hard to obtain. Then in the blink of an eye his life changes, when he sees her across a crowded room.
Violet wasn’t looking for anyone or anything to complete her. She had a hard life, but in seeking healing, she found a love in herself and had a giving spirit within that drew people to her. Still, there was a small part of her that always felt as though something was missing, that is until she connected with a man that literally rocked her world.
Dax Morgan was magnetic, formidable, and completely blew my mind as this story unfolded! As a Morgan, Dax always knew he came from an amazing family, full of love and support, but it wasn’t until he met Violet that he realized how phenomenal his family truly was, and that woman changed the course of his life.
Woven through a complex story, lays the heart of a family man, which will defend those he loves to the ends of the Earth. A man first and foremost believes that love, honesty and family is more important than fame.
Through trials and tribulations Dax and Violet persevere and fit together perfectly, body and soul. This review does NO justice for just how great this book was, nor how much love I have for the Morgan family members. What I can say without a doubt is that Rockstar is simply an incredible way to end the Morgan family legacy!
As Always, Happy Reading!
“5/5 Beaming Brains!” – Lit-Up My Mind
Swoon-worthy and enticing, this standalone rockstar romance is a must-read!
When you open the pages of a book, you are preparing yourself to accept whatever words are typed there. You are preparing yourself to cry, yell, swoon, fall in love, even curse at that page and at times, the author. In the case of Rockstar, you will experience pretty much every emotion on the spectrum (except fear…you will never feel that with a Lauren Rowe book) and you will ultimately enjoy the experience of feeling them.
Rockstar is a story about, yes a musician, his rock band and the life that goes with it, but not surprisingly (if you have read a Lauren Rowe book) it is about much more. It is primarily about Family….yes Family. In all its glorious forms, highs and sadly in all its lows.
The family made when mates are brought together because of their love for music.
Family made when two bands and their entourages are brought together in the interest of a world tour.
Family made when two courageous, sensitive people find themselves captured at first glance across a crowded room.
And Family made, when a broken girl is accepted wholeheartedly by her lover’s closest & dearest.
But underpinning all these familial ties, is the notion that whatever is placed before you in life, you must be utterly true to your inner self. Life lessons can be hard learned, but it’s how you deal with what is thrown at you that will ultimately set you up for a rewarding fulfilling future.
Lauren Rowe does Family like no one else. Her flare for the quirky makes for a rollercoaster reading experience and if she doesn’t win you over by this quality then she damn well will with her ability to squeeze every ounce of emotion out of you with her writing brilliance.
Dax, with his sensitive & creative soul and Violet, with her damaged heart & creative flare, make the perfect couple. The way Lauren has brought them together is simply stunning. The chemistry between these two characters is obvious and soulful as well as full of scorching heat.
Turbulent, Riotous, Soul-searingly emotional….this story will leave you wanting more.
A must read!
Whew! That was one he!! of a ride! I knew this book would be great but it was so much more…it was freakin amazing! Dax is my new book boyfriend because seriously, he is perfection! Violet is my spirit sister and I want to be just like her when I grow up! This is the story of true KISMET! That one person that is meant to be yours and you know it immediately! These two had a rough road to get there but man was it intense and so worth the ride! Lauren Rowe is masterful with her words making you feel like you are right there in the thick of things. So many feels, so much angst, so many emotions going crazy! Don’t let this sit on your TBR shelf, one click now!
Rockstar by Lauren Rowe is a standalone romance novel, but if you have read her other Morgan books you will recognize Dax Morgan and have been waiting for his story. When Dax meets Violet Rhodes he is just beginning and the one night stand between them effects him more than he could ever imagine. The inspiration he gets from her, his muse, is palpable, but she is also gone.
Violet is a fighter and it comes from her history. She has grown strong, but there is always that doubt. She is a perfect compliment for Dax. They are the yin and yang for each other, both strong and driven but also vulnerable and needing each other in a special way. Violet was a character I could very much connect with and the way Ms. Rowe pairs her with Dax makes their connection even more special.
Rockstar by Lauren Rowe was an incredible story, one we have been waiting for and one that truly does not disappoint. Dax and Violet were amazing and perfect together. I could not get enough of this book.
(I voluntarily reviewed an copy of this book I received for free in exchange for my open and honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.)
Onward and upward. This book is the very definition of FLOW. The perfect ending to an amazing series. Dax may be the baby Morgan but Lauren definitely saved the best for last.
10 Fireflies in my Belly Stars!!!
Yes, you’re reading that correctly, this is absolutely, positively a TEN STAR read!!!
I know that 10 stars aren’t an option, but I’m telling you it should be when I’ve read something that is as EPIC as Rockstar by Ms. Rowe. I originally discovered Ms. Rowe’s writing about three years ago so I was a little late to the party, but once I read my first book, which was actually her eighth book published, I immediately did a binge read AND listen of all available books and have been following, really stalking her since the day I finished my first book.
I’ve come to love the entire Morgan Mafia and to have their series end with the writing of Daxy’s book is so fabulous but also makes me a little sad, because there’s no more Morgan’s…boo!!! So let’s get into the nitty gritty of why this is a 10 star read….Dax and Violet are two people that meet and have an immediate connection that neither can deny…
“As my tongue dances with Violet’s as my lips assault hers, it’s the Fourth of July inside my body. I put my palm on Violet’s face as our kiss deepens and intensifies, every fiber of my body hungry for her…Violet kisses me back with same frenzied need, like her next breath depends on this electrifying kiss.”
While this connection can’t be denied, Daxy and his band 22 Goats are getting ready to leave for an extended world tour which isn’t really conducive to starting a relationship, and there’s the little wrench that Violet is hiding a pretty big detail about her life that could truly hinder 22 Goats’ future in the recording industry. So they part ways with the promise of when they return to see where their feelings are…and so begins the wild ride of 22 Goats, Daxy and Violet!!
Needless to say when they see each other again, the feelings are not only still there but oh my stars, so many secrets that are being kept and hidden so it’s not an easy path for our H/h.
“I’m enraptured, utterly enthralled. Feeling like I’ve been on life support for eight months, and suddenly springing to full health. I thought I remembered what it felt like to kiss this beautiful boy, but I was wrong. The pleasure I’m feeling, the riot of emotion and arousal and need flashing across my heart and soul and nerve endings and skin… all of it so much more than fireflies in my belly.
It’s an electrical storm – an explosion of heat and lightning of lust and sense memory and hope, enough to power a sky full of stars and send my aching heart beating fully, joyfully once again.”
There’s not only secrets but people that may stand in their way. Who’s not standing in their way is the entire Morgan family, which includes extended family and friends that are like family. We get to experience all the humor and love that I adore with the Morgan Mafia as they’re all in rare form in this book.
As this story moves, at just the right pace, I fell more and more in love with Dax and Violet. They’re beautiful people on the inside and outside. The love they have is unending. Their families support them in whatever they desire and they love giving back to people. Violet is an amazing young woman that brought me to tears a few times with some of her actions. But what I loved the most is how they each love each other. They’ve found that magic that people only hope for when they fall in love. Mix that with humor that at times is snarky and sassy and it’s a complete and total win.
Ms. Rowe has written a book that fulfilled all my fantasies and desires for the wrap-up of the Morgan family books along with making Daxy and Violet one of my very favorite book couples….although all the Morgan kids and their spouses are my favorites too… I’m not sure I would be able to pick a top favorite cuz they’re all just that amazing. While I’m sad this series has come to an end, I’m thrilled with how we got there and that we’re leaving this world in an EPIC way!!!

I loved Rockstar. I was anxiously waiting for it. I’ve been wanting Dax’s story for a long time and I wasn’t disappointed. The story is filled with angst, swoon worthy moments, and laughter. It was an array of emotions. Dax and Violet stole my heart. These two couldn’t be more perfect for one another.
The writing is excellent bringing us into the music world. It gave a real feel of what it was like to be a rockstar. While reading I felt like I was getting insight of of it. Another thing that Rowe did a great job of is with the twists and turns. Just when you think you know, she throws you a curve ball or three. She had me going in loops, second and third and fourth guessing myself. There were a couple of times where I wanted to throw a tantrum. I refused to believe. This book brought many emotions out of me at different parts of the story.
I love Dax’s family. They’re awesome. They have an incredible bond that will make you want to be part of the family. The scenes with the Morgan Mafia were my favorite. I don’t think I will get enough of these characters. Thankfully I still have Keane and Maddy’s story to read. I’ll get my fix.
Rockstar is a standalone. There’s no required reading before starting this one, or any particular order. However, if you enjoyed this one, I recommend reading all of the Morgan siblings’ books. Each story has something special.
4.5 Flowing stars
I really don’t know how I feel about this book at this time, ( I had to pause for a few hours to digest). Now don’t get me wrong I loved the story and the characters. But something is niggling me at the moment. Something I can’t pinpoint. I don’t know if it boils down to a sadness due to the fact that the Morgan’s stories are finished or if I am wanting something else from this book.
Now all the usual suspects, family and friends and indeed the Morgan’s are in this book as well as we get to see more from the other two Goats. I am secretly hoping for their books. But apart from that I really can’t say what I feel needs to be written in order to convey, how this book made me feel. I cant tell even a tiny part of this book for fear of blowing it wide open.
Know that emotions run high and this book runs fast through a lot of things, time and places. I believe fate plays a huge part in it as well. I laughed loads, we how couldn’t you. It’s a Morgan book, it’s the law. I shed so many tears. Happy and sad. From fear and from hope. I also feel this book had enough diversity in that it showed the different sides of Dax Morgan. He isn’t just one kind of man. He has a few faces, that we indeed get to see.
Although I agree it’s a standalone story and book. I feel you as a reader would be doing yourself a huge injustice to not experience the books that are in the series about this amazing family. One that very much reminds me of my own, in the way that we are, when they are together.
This book is a huge recommend from me. I just want to say Bravo Lauren, you nailed it.
Morgan’s family will never let you down… Dax Morgan is the King! The Rockstar 22 Goats… The journey to be a famous musician wasnt easy… Dax and Violet relationship was the hightlight and yes its full with emotional rollercoaster.
Lauren had written a fantastic rockstar romance… The hillarious family was too funny… The sexy relationship.. the rockband feeling with crazy fans and the music with awesome lyrics. DAX Morgan.. I had fallen inlove with your beautiful song lyrics.. The reality of living around the fame of music.. it was beautiful…
Another 5 Morgan Stars! What an AMAZING story about the last Morgan. Ladies you will be swooning over Daxy!!!
I voluntarily received an ARC for a honest review.
This is not your typical Rockstar Romance and while I definitely enjoy the grit and heartbreak that comes with the usual trope, this sweeter more wholesome version was a nice change.
Rockstar can be read as a total standalone though I guarantee when you’re done, you’ll be wanting and ready to binge read more of The Morgan’s!
They’re just that addicting!
I’m not really a fan of insta love/insta connections and prefer a more slow burn type of read but the way things happened for Dax was perfect and true to his character.
I liked Violet and I loved her for him.
I appreciated the lyrics throughout the book as it helped me feel a connection to Dax, but I don’t really feel this book gave me the kind of detail I crave when it comes to the Rockstar lifestyle.
I’d have liked to have seen more of that.
In true Lauren Rowe fashion the steam factor in this book was through the roof!
Overall this was an enjoyable book that I had been anticipating and I highly recommend it!
This rockstar rocked my world! 5 stars
I loved this book with my whole heart & soul. This book was so brilliantly & beautifully written. Lauren Rowe makes these characters feel like you know them, that they are your friends and family. Dax is a singer/songwriter/musician with his band who becomes a rockstar, and he rocked my world. I love the dichotomy of him – introverted, moody but knows performing is what he is meant to do. He also made me swoon! The lyrics Lauren Rowe wrote are stunning. Violet is strong and stands up for herself, yet she is broken and has trust & abandonment issues. She is a modern, complicated woman. Dax and Violet together are a shooting star! I loved the instant connection and heat between them. My heart & soul were so happy for them, but then the angst comes and it was heart and soul breaking. I cried tears of sadness and tears of happiness. I also laughed out loud so many times! I went on a rock tour of emotion reading this book! I say it every time, but Lauren Rowe knows how to write the perfect combination of heat, humor & heart. This book is a stand-alone, but I have read all the Morgan Brothers books. It makes this book that much more bittersweet as this is the end of the Morgan’s as we know them, and it has been a long & winding road to get here. Thank you Lauren Rowe for giving us this family that we all wish we had & made us feel like we were a part of it. I highly recommend this book if you couldn’t tell! If you start with this book, then I know you will you want to go read all the Morgan Brothers books & even The Club series!
Music and lyrics that will have your heart singing! Dax Morgan might possibly be my favorite Morgan brother (even if I’m not a fan of the book cover, lol), just don’t tell the others! Violet Rhodes will win you over with her love, talent and strength. She’s the perfect equal to Dax’s crazy life, and their journey is one you won’t soon forget.
I’m a big fan of Lauren’s and love all her books, the Morgan Clan are exceptional and you immediately become a member of the family as you read them – this is Dax’s story, the Rockstar, which is not my favorite genre, so even though it was Lauren’s book I was not particularly looking forward to it – I know, I’m bad, I’m sorry!
So here it comes – I can honestly say this book blew me out of the water!!!!!
The feels, the emotions, the shivers, the tingles, the tears, the laughter – it was just a beautiful, joyful and moving read. It left me floating on a book high I haven’t experienced in a long time. Enraptured, heart full to bursting and smiling from ear to ear – just perfect!
Now here’s the thing – this is a true standalone read, even though it runs alongside the rest of the Morgan family reads, this one is purely Dax and Violet’s story. You don’t need to have read any of the others, no background required, just jump right in. It’s very much like a 1001 Dark Nights read, where you can consider this an introduction into the Morgan world – you will meet the rest of the family and fall in love with them and then want to join their world if you haven’t already done so, which makes this in my book even more of an extraordinary read.
Dax is the youngest member of the Morgan clan, with his sights set on stardom of the Rockstar variety. Yet he’s not your average rocker, he’s a sensitive soul who loves the hardest and cares the most about his people and his family. But he’s human and a man to boot and has lessons to learn and obstacles to overcome on his journey, its the way he achieves all this that will have your heart pounding.
Violet is a beautiful young woman with a broken past, so strong and courageous, selfless in her love, you can’t help but fall in love with her. Her journey and her lessons are no easier, but her brave soul and caring nature will have you welling up inside.
A beautiful and intense journey to watch as their relationship develops, the feels you get will take your breath away. Add this to the love that is uniquely the Morgan family and you have the most perfect read ever. I loved it, truely. I don’t ever want to leave the Morgan family, they inspire me to be the best I can be for my own family.
An awesome epic and beautiful masterpiece, not to be missed on any account – Lauren Rowe, I Love You the Most!
Oh my heart. Dax and Violet are a special couple. I can’t express how much I loved watching their journey unfold. And how their journey began. These two are smokin’ hot together. I have to mention, hopefully without any spoilers, that I truly appreciated the honesty of actions during Dax’s tour. Rockstars will be rockstars no doubt. And there wasn’t any fluff written about the tour. That for me made this book real and believable. The new characters of RCR brought the story next-level. The new friendships and turmoil with them was perfect. Again, believable. (Maybe a spin-off with those guys…?) And, I loved the Morgan crew popping up here and there. You can definitely read this as a stand-alone. But the Morgan’s are a terrific family and their books are just as great. So don’t miss out on those stories. Another perfect romance from this extremely talented author!
5 Stars
Rockstar by Lauren Rowe is the final book for the Morgan clan. It can absolutely be read as a stand-alone, so don’t worry if you haven’t read the others. (Trust me when I say after reading this, you will want to devour them all!) This book was absolutely incredible. It was pure magic and had me feeling ALL THE FEELS. I know I say this with every book Ms. Rowe writes but it bears repeating-she is a fantastic storyteller that is able to create worlds that you can’t help but fall in love with. Every. Single. Time.
I have been waiting for Dax’s story for what seems like forever. I knew there was something so special about him and boy was I right! He was EVERYTHING. I knew in my heart of hearts he was going to sweep me off of my feet and his heroine was going to be something fierce. And seriously-Violet sure was. Their connection was intense and beautiful. And no matter what their circumstances were, fate was unstoppable.
I ADORED this book! I could not put it down. Like completely devoured it. It was so beautifully written and the added lyrics were such a special touch. These characters have become like old friends and while I am so sad that this is the end, I know Ms. Rowe will continue to make me fall in love with her worlds. I highly recommend reading this book!!
