Never trust a cold condom.Wait, let me back up. I’m Kellan McGuire, and I’m a rockstar in hiding, at least for the weekend. Enter Maggie Kelly, the famed Kelly virgin – AKA my small hometown’s favorite good girl.Did I mention she’s really good? And I’m so…not.Except Maggie isn’t a virgin any longer. She actually just went through a rough breakup due to her ex’s penchant for strippers. And I … due to her ex’s penchant for strippers.
And I don’t want to be a rockstar this weekend. Not with her.
I just want to be Kellan, the wolf to her Little Red Riding Hood. The guy who shows her all the dark, dirty things she never dared to dream.
In return, she gave me something I never dared to dream about either – a baby.
A family.
Our family, if I can convince her I’m worth the risk.
Author’s note: this book may be called Rockstar Daddy, but the emphasis is on lots of babymaking practice, laughter, a few tears, and a serious case of insta-love.more
Great book. Absolutely love this authors work. This didn’t disappoint. Funny and hot. Loved REDs energy. Can’t wait to read book two.
I was a little skeptical of this story at first. Maggie seemed a little flaky at first. I was sure she was the highest order of prude. Then, all of a sudden the heat kicks up! It’s not called Rockstar Daddy for nothing! Maggie and Kellan did plenty to make that baby. That’s where the emotional rollercoaster starts.
Besides the sort of awkward family gathering near the end, the story was enough to keep me interested. I especially liked the ending.
4 stars.
When Maggie slides into Kellan’s life neither is looking for anything but one night. Maggie is moving past a break up and Kellan is only there for a break before things pick up with the band. One snowy night brings them together but will the connection last?
This was the first book I’ve read by this author. I will definitely be reading more. I love rockstar romances. This was a great KU read!
Likable characters make this an easy, fun read.
Well edited.
Maggie is the town’s good girl. Youngest of 6, sweet, thoughtful, and caring – everyone loves and looks out for Maggie Kelly. Out in a snowstorm to deliver bread to a neighbor on New Year’s Eve, Maggie encounters a mama deer and her baby, slides on ice, and ends up in a ditch. Fortunately, she is just outside the door of Kellan McGuire. Kellan is hiding away for the weekend. His life is about to get turned upside down as his band prepares to launch it’s first single. Maggie doesn’t know any of this. She just sees a handsome, kind man helping her out. One night – that’s all it takes for lives to change. Hearts take off, but how to work out the unexpected when the two people involved live on different coasts. Is the timing just simply off? Is there any way to make it work? Do they even want to? Then, life takes another turn with more unexpected news. Will these two ever find the right timing?
Really nice, quick read. More or less insta-love, with a bit of angst, surprises, overprotective family and friends, and laughter. Enjoy.
What do you get when you combine one gruff, cynical, but sexy rockstar named Kellan and one sweet criminal justice student, kind of quirky regular girl named Maggie? You get rockstar magic, by the queen of dirty, sexy rockstars – Taryn Quinn! Kellan is in the up and coming band, Wilder Mind, and has decided to buy property in his hometown, Turnbull, NY. There’s a blizzard going on, though, and that’s why Maggie, local girl who grew up on the fringes of Kellan’s life, gets her her car stuck in a ditch at the front of Kellan’s new vacation cabin. Their first meeting is very meet cute. She’s in layers upon layers of clothes, trying to shimmy her way out of her now stuck car, and Kellan is sort of bewildered by her huge smile and by the fact that she’s so not worried about her car being stuck in his ditch.
When he lets her stay in his cabin to ride out the blizzard, hot things happen and sure enough the two fall into each other. Then, they fall into each other again a few weeks later when they can’t get each other off their minds. But, when her best friend and one of her overprotective brothers come to get her in LA and let slip who Kellan is exactly, Kellan realizes his inability to let someone into his life and his heart has backfired on him in a big way. Then, because the universe is mischievous, they end up with a beautiful surprise, or maybe not a surprise considering the title. But, Kellan has a lot of groveling to do if he wants to get back in her good graces.
I really like the contrast between these two characters. Maggie is vibrant, and sweet, and adorable, and Kellan is grumpy, closed off and scared of his own emotions. They’re each other’s yin and yang. That’s one of my favorite themes: opposites attracting and meshing in really sweet, sexy ways, and Taryn Quinn writes the hell out of this theme.
Can’t wait for more rockstar love from Taryn Quinn!
