Baseball games are supposed to be fun, right? I got tickets to bring my son.Popcorn, soda and an easy day in the sun, but then I saw him.But Surprise! There’s Michael. His last name is Irons. He plays major leagues and he’s the father of my son.Every instinct told me to take our boy and run. I hadn’t known his name or how to get in touch with him the past six years. Now not only does he see me in … years.
Now not only does he see me in the stand, it takes him a glance at my boy and he knows the truth.
It was like fate brought us to this point, but he climbed into the fan benches to talk and flirt.
I told myself it was just about our son, but alone, our conversations are getting heated.
I didn’t expect our magical memory would be burned in his brain.
Or he’d want me again.
All I wanted was a quiet life to raise my son.
Ball players are dangerous. But what happens when the season ends? Let me tell you the truth… I never expected what actually happened.

3.5 stays for Rocking Player by Victoria Pinder. This is book two in the Steel Series. This is my first book from this author, and I will say I enjoyed it. I wanted a little more development of the story, but it was still a good story. Michael and Georgie meet 7 years ago and had an epic night. They never got each other’s last names or anything. Georgie and her 6-year-old son see Michael at a baseball game, and he is the star shortstop. Just so happens he is also Georgie’s son’s dad. This is a secret baby romance and is extremely fast paced. If you are looking for a quick read, then you will like this book.
Rocking Player by Victoria Pinder is a second chance romance. It’s the second book in the Steel series and it’s about Georgianna and
Michael.
Georgianna Steele after a vacation romance in the Bahamas became a single mom. She didn’t know much about the guy so she couldn’t find him to
let him know about the baby. Almost seven years later she met him again at a baseball game her son begged her to take him. Michael Irons
have finally found the woman who had stolen his heart and gained a son at the same time. Georgianna and her sisters were against love
because of their mother so Michael needed to find another solution to prove to her that they belonged together. Eventually, he made her
a proposal for a loveless marriage that would ensure their kid’s health insurance and great love life for them. The only issue with
her that was the possibility of moving and losing herself. In the end, Jeremy’s wish had come true, his mom got married and they lived
happily together.
It’s a sweet story with no drama, easy to follow, and fall in love. It has a simple storyline that gets straight to the romantic aspect.
The sole focus is the main characters and their short journey to become a family. There is nothing else to distract you. I liked how
they quickly fell into a routine and they managed to pick up their relationship from where they left off. The characters were sweet with nice chemistry. Jeremy was my favorite, he had cute childish moments and some that he acted more mature.
In conclusion, Rocking Player is a good romance book that I highly recommend to everyone. I will rate it with four stars.
Rocking Player – a review by Rosemary Kenny
What do a seemingly disparate duo have to do to achieve an HEA, when they’re reunited by chance but one of them has a major ‘skeleton’ in their metaphorical closet, that could be a complete game-changer, second time around?
You’ll have to read Victoria Pinder’s heart-breaking-then-warming tale of miscommunication and memories that can be oh-so-sweet – if they’ll only let it be, Rocking Player, second novel in her outstanding Steel Series! Why wait!?!!
Could Olivia really live for six years not knowing the father of her son was a pro baseball player? And would he really have ignored other women remembering the steamy one-night fling with a woman who snuck out early? Even Olivia’s 6- year old son knows the pact she and her sisters made never to marry is silly. Olivia and Michael clearly had an amazing connection because they do find their way to marriage and a future.
It’s the summer of 2020. It’s the summer baseball was canceled. I needed me some baseball!!! So, I picked up Rocking Player. I mean it sounded like a quick, fun read. It was both of those things. It was also pretty funny at times.
Georgie and Michael met on a Bahama’s vacay seven years prior to the opening of Rocking Player. To say they had an instant connection would be a huge understatement. Their time there is told in flashbacks. Neither one gave the other their last name so when Georgie found out she was pregnant she didn’t know how to contact Michael. She’s been doing the single mom thing for six years. Jeremy, her son, has discovered baseball and it’s his life. He finally talks Georgie into taking him to a Pirates game. When the players take the field Georgie finds out Michael’s last name…..
The story is predictable and low drama. The connection between Georgie and Michael picks up right where it left off seven years ago. Rocking Player has some editing issues, but surprisingly enough they didn’t annoy me as much as those things usually do. I guess I was focused on baseball. Anyway, this isn’t a story that is going to rock your world, but it’s fun for a quick summer read.
Life’s never easy in any of these stories, but Georgie and Michael make a great couple. Amd Jeremy is wise beyond his years. Pleasant tear-jerker. I put off reading it because of the cover. I recommend that you don’t make the same mistake.
Not very good. The writing was poor even if the idea wasn’t bad, although not original. I’ll tolerate typos and grammar mistakes but the sheer number and severity made this almost impossible to read. It needed a 10 year old to proofread.
The story line main characters are portrayed as educated beings. The story has its good points, however there are many life choices the characters make that are just
tooooooo hard to believe. I like more believable stories. . .
This book made no sense. There were so many grammar errors i thought it was translated from another language. The characters had no depth and the story didn’t flow. I barely finished it.
One can pleasantly pass much of a day with this PG15 second-chance baseball tale. I had an ARC and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
This was a great book. I loved the characters! They pulled at my heart strings! I always love it when fate brings people back together but it isn’t perfect. They have to work for it. Highly recommend this book! Not a dull moment in the story. I am voluntarily leaving my review after reading an advance reader copy from the author.
Surprise, Surprise….
Nope, Michael doesn’t have a clue that he’s a dad … that is until he runs out onto that baseball field, glances up to the stands and sees HIS eyes staring down.
Instant fatherhood, instant family. But is anything in life really instant? Is life ever easy? There will be compromise, there will be catching up, there will be memories remembered and memories that never were, because how can a six year vacuum of not knowing, produce memories? Can new memories made make up for that loss?
This is a stand alone but a good start to a new series (Book 2). Enjoy. I know I did. I received a copy of this book and am giving my honest thoughts. I’ve read and enjoyed many books this author has written and this one did not disappoint.
Rocking Player is an Introduction to the Steel family. A second chance romance after a one night hookup in Bahamas ending rushing home due to family tragedy.
Life revolving decisions based on spreadsheets had me cracking up. Relatable to me.
A strong mom whose afraid of losing her voice who just wants best for son.
Baby daddy is laid back and took finding out six year old son in stride. No big issue no anger/rage.
Another must read by author Victoria Pinder.
An enjoyable read and introduction to Steel family.
I was given a copy and am voluntarily giving my honest review.
3.5 **** stars. Nice premise but there is very little friction between the characters. Finger of fate brings them back together when he sees her and their son in the stands at his baseball game. There were no last names exchanged during or after their fling in the Bahamas. He seems to be making all the decisions until she is adamant about not going to New York. It’s a nice story and enjoyable to read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
Another great book in the new Steel series from Victoria Pinder. Georgiana is raising her son, Jeremy, and being surrogate mom to most of her sisters and cousins when she goes to a baseball game that changes her life. She is reunited with Michael Irons, rising baseball player, who just happens to be the father of her son. Reunited with his newfound family, Michael has no intention of letting go of the woman he has been unable to forget in seven years. These two must learn compromise is the way to a happy marriage to get their HEA. Wonderful book, characters and storyline. I finished in one sitting. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of the book.
Toe curling…LOVED this story which has been covered by the blurb & previous reviewers. I got frustrated at what appeared to be some unnecessary obstacles & stubbornness but that’s the standard norm in real life. It was well written, an easy read with a great level of heat. Really enjoying this author’s novels. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.
Rocking Player is the story of Georgiana and Michael who had a brief fling in the Bahamas 7 years ago. When they meet again, Georgiana has a son and Michael is a major league baseball player. Each is shocked when they see each other at a baseball game, Georgiana and her son in the stands and Michael on the field. They meet afterward and begin to formulate a plan for the future.
While I usually enjoy this author’s writing, this one just didn’t grab me. I liked the characters but the storyline just seemed to stretch my imagination. For someone who took motherhood very seriously, using an analytical mind to weigh decisions regarding her son, Georgiana jumped into a relationship with both feet with little or no hesitation. So, IMHO, the story premise fell flat, making this an enjoyable read, but not up to standard I expected.
3 stars.
Beautiful Romance
This was a wonderful romantic story. The main female character seemed obsessed with not turning out like her mother. Over the course of her time with the main male character and with advice from her siblings, she began to shift her thinking into a more positive framework. Both the main male and main female characters each grew during their time together and some foci was changed for the betterment of all.
I voluntarily received an advance review copy of this novel from the author and I am leaving an honest and unbiased review. I have no affiliation to this author.
This is the second book in the Steel Series. If you like second chance romances you’ll enjoy this story. Georgie and Michael were very attracted to each other and had a steamy relationship before he had to leave town. After he left she found out she was pregnant but was unable to contact him since she did not know his full name. Fate brings them back together when she takes their son to watch a ball game. Michael looks at her son and everything ‘clicks’. Some drama and twists but the chemistry is still there. No spoiler here but this is a cute story that I read as an arc and voluntarily chose to review. The characters are well developed and likable. The book has a good flow and is a quick read.
This is a great second chance romance. Georgie and Michael had a holiday romance which resulted in a surprise pregnancy. Unable to contact Michael, without knowing his surname or anything else about him, Georgie raises their son on her own until an unexpected encounter throws them together again. Their love for each other shines and they manage to overcome all the obstacles to get their happy ever after. This book is full of great characters and lots of emotions. I look forward to reading more of this series.
