He’s a rock god on the rise. He’s also my new boss. What will happen when I’m forced to play house with my gorgeous new employer?REXI’m a cold soul. The only thing that provides any warmth is my baby girl, and even she asks for a fire I can’t give. When my daughter’s nanny quits on me, I’m left with consequences I can’t afford to face. Like how my kid isn’t adjusting as quick as the rest of her … isn’t adjusting as quick as the rest of her class.
And how quiet she is.
How lonely.
Then she steps in. A young, impulsive, small yet opinionated woman who thinks she can win my daughter’s heart.
Maybe she can, but she won’t get near mine.
HARPER
To everyone else, I’m happy.
There’s an emptiness within myself, a sadness I can’t get rid of, until I meet a little girl named Stella.
I see me in her, that hollowness, and I’m determined to make it different this time. To make her smiles count.
What I don’t expect is her father.
A callous, calculated, famous man who seduces the public with his voice, then goes on ice as soon as he steps into his private domain.
I think I see something in him, too. I hear it in his music, am mesmerized by his sound…
And I’m afraid I’ll walk straight over the edge with him singing to me as I fall.
ROCKED BY HER is a steamy, slow burn romance with a touch of a forbidden older man.
WARNING: this novel contains angsty heart with a cute kid as well as cursing and some hot scenes.
SAFETY NET: it is also a full length standalone with no cliffhanger!

I wavered between giving this two or three stars. I’ve loved the nanny trope since I first saw The Sound of Music but this one fell a little flat. Rex was too gruff and as protective of he was of his daughter, he had no relationship with her. There were no warm moments. I also didn’t like the fact that Harper gave in to allowing Rex to use her for a sexual outlet. A better story would have had him having a conscience and NOT using her. All in all it fell a little flat for me.
Rex is part of the band, Nocturne Court, with Easton. Easton’s story finished up the 4 friends in the Player’s to Lovers set. Now, we move on to the remaining members of Nocturne Court.
Well edited.
Rex has a daughter, Stella, and is need of a nanny. Stella’s mom chose drugs over her daughter and Rex. His current nanny, Patrice, has major designs on Rex, and isn’t above manipulation to get what she wants. Easton recommends Harper – Taryn’s friend and Jamie’s nanny for the past six years. Harper is no not what Rex has been looking for for his daughter. However, Stella has a tentative connection to Harper, and it is enough to give the position a try. Harper has her own abandonment issues, which allows her to connect with Stella in a real way. Feelings between Harper and Rex become harder to ignore. Will they give in and jeopardize Harper’s position with Stella? Will Patrice just give up and move on? Will Stella’s mom come back for her family?
This was a decent read, and a good addition to the storyline. We get to see Easton working with the band – which is great after all he went through in the previous book. Next up is Mason (I think). Will he find and rescue the girl they knew in high school? Enjoy!
Ketley Allison always gives me that drama filled romance with the perfect amount of steam, sizzle and passion we have come to love by her. The story was beautifully delivered and swept me up in all the feels. I loved every moment of this book. Can’t wait for Mason and Mack’s story!! Happy reading!!
Meet Rex, the rock star, his daughter, Stella and the new nanny, Harper. Rex is a complex man, he has many roles and he plays them all with a touch of ice. His daughter, Stella is struggling and he is unsure on what to do. Harper is the new nanny for Stella and she sees so much emptiness in her, she feels like she is looking in a mirror. Rex and Harper have pasts and presents that do not necessarily align but as time passes, they get to know one another and the story unfolds these two characters become so much more to one another. Can love heal everything? Can a job turn into a HEA? What a great story that is well written and flows wonderfully. The characters are amazing with their strengths, weaknesses and secrets. Of course, there is plenty of steamy sexy bits too. Enjoy!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Rex is the lead singer of the band Nocturne Court who needs a Nanny for his young daughter. He amazed when Harper is recommended by his band mate Easton because of her success with his son. Harper seems to be everything that Rex does not want in a nanny for his daughter, but quickly running out of time he decides to hire her on a temporary basis.
Harper immediately shows that she is a force to be reckoned with and she quickly wins Rex’s daughter over and builds her confidence but she has to deal with the rules and regulations that Rex has given her along with his icy attitude towards her. Just as he is starting to thaw towards her suddenly finds that he needs her to help him to deal with his past and a threat to his daughter.
This was a fun read, a tough and determined heroine who will not let anyone get in the way of her role as her nanny not even the child’s father, a hot rock star who is a father first, lots of fun dialogue and hot sexy scenes, and unexpected secrets revealed.
Binge read as the household fell down around me!
This. Book …. and the SERIES!!!!
Huge fan of Ketley Allison…. I bought, downloaded on release day and that’s when the household nearly stopped functioning. I was glued to my chair and tablet….. the characters and storyline pulled me in.
Rex is a tortured soul. He’s got a band, a daughter, and fans all depending on him. The current nanny is on the way out and he’s not sure how he’s going to keep everything running smoothly. The band is pushing back on the lack of new materials and he’s not sure that the personna he’s so carefully crafted is going to take him into next week … let alone the next tour. He’s not sure that he’s the right father for 6 year old Stella as he tries to keep his rocker life away from her.
Harper is a professional nanny … not be design, but by being in the right place at the right time. She’s got Daddy issues with a capital D and taking on the assignment with Rex is triggering all kinds of memories. If you’ve read other books by Ms. Allison (and if you haven’t, download NOW) you’ll remember her as Taryn’s best friend and nanny. Harper is a sweet soul who is dedicated to her charges while she’s trying to figure out the rest of her life.
The storyline and writing ….. Sing to Me is a standalone in the best way…. if you’ve read the other books, you’ll see familiar friends, but if you haven’t it’s well written for you to read this story. Ms. Allison has woven a story that brings in father / family, career, steam and sizzle (seriously hot), and romance.

FANTASTIC!
An amazing read that instantly gave me a giddy feeling of excitement that quickly turned intense as the story did unexpected flips that had me crazy with need to get to the end as the twists kept sending me spiralling with no hopes of a HEA seeping into my emotions and tugging hard at my heartstrings. It’s hot with a few crazy twists some humor emotional and a non-stop bundle of impacting twists. A fantastic read that I absolutely recommend as a perfect well written easy flowing five star read.
Amazing and unique single-dad/nanny romance!
Harper doesn’t just steamroll her way into Rex and Stella’s quiet, well-ordered home, she turns it completely upside down without even trying. This new series is linked to the author’s previous books in that Harper was the trusted nanny to Easton’s new stepson, and Rex is the lead singer of Nocturne Court, whose drummer is Easton.
I was completely charmed by the unpredictable Harper, and like her I fell for the enigmatic, gruff and growly Rex at first sight. Their dynamic is intense and confrontational, each forcing the other to examine everything they know. Along the way, the delightful sprite, Stella, is finding her own way of expressing herself, while multi-layered conflicts arise with a couple of other women in Stella’s life.
All of this blends together perfectly in a tortured, steamy, suspenseful, and ultimately heartwarming and satisfying story about what truly makes a family. The character development and growth is stellar, and the HEA nicely leads into the next band member’s story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
