A Rock Star Kidnaps a Runaway Bride… crazy.
And somehow she’s turned the tables on me.
Now, she’s holding me hostage, and she won’t let me go until we hit every item on her sparkly new, completely insane bucket list.
And that last item?
That last item might cost me more than any fortune.
It very well might cost me my heart.
Rockaway Bride is a romping fun romance between a down-on-his-luck rock star and a boy band-loving preschool teacher, complete with a road trip, handcuffs, and fun with nuns. This romantic comedy stands alone with no cheating or cliffhangers and ends with a rockin’ awesome happily ever after.

Oh my belly’s in pain from laughing so hard!! I absolutely loved this book tho!! It kept me either in stitches from laughing or steaming hawt from the sexy times which also had some funny bits added to them!! I wish I could have the adventure Willow has in this book!! Everything about this book is absolutely perfect!! And you need to take every single bit of it in all on your own so I can’t give you anything besides if you love romantic comedy this will definitely be the book for you. I swear Willow and Dax run into more trouble than you can think of and it’s so funny!! I highly highly recommend this book!!!!- By Tina
Willow and Dax are a fun couple that find themselves in some strange circumstances and make the best and most fun out of it.
Awesome!
In Rockaway Bride, the mild mannered, preschool teacher, Willow gets kidnapped by revenge seeking rocker, Dax. Mayhem ensues, and her adventure loving side take the driver’s seat. I’ve got to say, from the first pages when Willow’s stepbrother – princes come to her with an escape plan on the eve of her wedding, I was hooked. I was on team Willow from the time I met her in Mr. McHottie…and disliked the twatopatamus (thanks again Zeus ), Martin for an equally long time. I mean seriously, who stays engaged to someone as awesome as Willow for seven years, and doesn’t seal the deal? Plus the fact that her boy – band loving posse dislikes him just cements his character as a total d°uche-canoe.
In drunkenly weaves Dax, unwitting rescuer/intentional kidnapper (tomato /po-tah-toh), and Pippa Grant style mayhem is ensues. I love his character and he complements Willow so well. Between the protective donkey, stilt walking security, wayward band mate, body building nun, missing money and over- protective friends and family, Willow’s adventurous soul finds release.
I absolutely love this book. I say that with every Pippa Grant book, and each one gets better. This one? So hot! So. Many. Feels! Omg! Tissues for the laughing tears and the crying kind, and dry knickers should be a requirement when reading this book. I usually recommend grabbing a big girl beverage of choice as well when getting comfy to read a good book. With Pippa Grant I feel the need to do the opposite… Do not eat or drink anything while reading her books. When, out of the blue, you start laughing out loud with tears streaming down your face , that’s just a choking hazard waiting to happen. Really, who wants to potentially require CPR and risk interrupting a truly fabulous book when they don’t have to?
Once again, I give Pippa an Amazon five star review, but a 10+ from my book-living heart. As always, I’m looking forward to what comes next from this rom-com writing genius.
Pippa Grant delivers another wonderful book full of the shenanigans I love and have come to expect from her. I was eagerly anticipating Dax and Willow’s story and was definitely not disappointed with their hilarious road trip antics. Pippa’s books just keep getting better and better.
*I received an ARC from the Author*
I adore Pippa Grant’s books almost more than life itself, they are the cutest and funniest books ever and I always know that my socks will be knocked off laughing by her wit and humor. Rockaway Bride brought me in with the expectation of her classic hilarity and blew me away with the complete originality of this book. Pippa usually surprises, but not this much. It was incredible being brought back in to Pippa’s already original and fun world with Stolland and it’s princes and the Boy Band Cover Band but this book brought us to so many places we never could have imagined going. All of the characters, including the two main ones Dax and Willow were vibrant and hilarious, funny and vivacious but also incredibly human. Both of the characters really struggled with their finances or their emotions and more importantly who the both of them were alone, but also together which created a compelling and interesting plot. And all of the supporting characters from the nuns and the returning favorites from Pippa’s other books were so well created, they all had their own stamp and they all had flaws and quirks which kept the book pages flying. I loved it, the author truly outdid herself this time and I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone who loves love.
Excellent hilarious romantic comedy
Like her previous books, Pippa Grant made me cry with laughter. It’s very well written, the characters are excellent, disturbed about their future, without being heavy.
Willow is a half-princess by her mother’s marriage. She runs away on her wedding day because she understands that she doesn’t love Martin. She enjoys singing boy band hits with her group and is a kindergarten teacher. She never curses and she automatically turns them into polite words, but the day after she runs away, she finds herself on a boat, handcuffed to Dax, the singer of one most famous rock bands in the world, who can’t stand boys band, polite words and who has already divorced three times.
Wanting to get his money back that Martin stole from him, Dax, on a whim, took Willow away as she fled. But this adventure releases a side that was completely extinguished in the kind Willow: the crazy Willow, the intrepid wakes up. Between the blows of self-defense, the journey without passport across Europe, the characters who help them who are completely out of step, from the couple of bloggers, to a group of nuns in van, animal attacks against Dax while Willow (like any princess in a movie of course) can cuddle and sing with them….. it’s completely hilarious.
In parallel, this road trip allows the characters to discover themselves. Willow opens, while Dax takes time to heal the wounds that began to accumulate for a few months, in his sentimental, familyand professional life.
Neither of them are looking for someone, but they can not help being attracted to each other.
For those who have already read the previous books, we find all the main characters of previous books, crazy as always. The character of Heloise, the hacker, becomes more and more interesting and mysterious, just like “Danger”, the Dax’s rock band drummer, who’s missing, and Knox, the ex-seal.
I have voluntarily reviewed Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Absolutely love this fun adventure for Willow and Dax. Willow has always been “buttoned up” in the past books, but, she’s finally getting a taste of freedom in this book when she’s kidnapped by Rock Star Dax. Honestly, you will enjoy taking this crazy, funny, warm hearted romp with them and all the zany characters along the way! This is an amazing summer read, the kind you stay up all night reading!
What’s a girl to do who does not want to get married, on her wedding day? Get kidnapped by an irate rock star at the end of his rope. Is he thinking rationally? Totally no, but then, they both had some strongly alcoholic mead and end up in the another country entirely. On my first reading I thought the first two or three chapters dragged a little, but that could have been because I started reading it at night. I went back and nope, it kept up the pace while also establishing the How and the Why.
Poor Willow – constrained by the love she has of her mother. You don’t have be in your early 20s to let parental expectations go. Sometimes it takes a lot longer. It took Jax to open her mother’s eyes, and it’s a fun trip to watch that happen. 🙂
Willow and Dax are so much fun! Willow is engaged to a man who just doesn’t rev her engines anymore and her fiancee has stolen all of Dax’s money. What starts with Dax kidnapping Willow in order to get his money back turns into an adventure around the world that no one will forget! While you think a rockstar romance with a royal step daughter would be full of all your typical rockstar elements this book doesn’t! It’s amazing and I highly recommend this book!
Get Rockaway Bride now..you won’t regret it!!!
You must put this book on your bucket list. Willow is the perfect fiancé, daughter, and socialite. She wants to please the one’s she loves…until right up to her wedding day. Dax has been cheated, lied to and hexed. They both just want to escape. When a kidnapping goes awry they both find the freedom that they craved and a love they never expected. From the chains and drudgery of living a life that everyone expects you to live, to the ultimate no worries freedom. Everyone can relate to this need for freedom. It is also chocked full of hijinks and hilarity that only Pippa Grant can deliver. It’s the adventure of a lifetime right from your couch.
Excellent characters and excellent writing as always with Pippa Grant. Lived this book!
This book was a hit for me. It was seriously hilarious. It started out a little slow but after a few chapters and all the craziness I couldn’t put it down. I mean seriously… nuns, guys on stilts, a donkey with a crazy protective owner, and two bloggers sailing around Europe? Who couldn’t help but laugh! And of course we get a glimpse at the Berger twins AND the princes!! Not to mention Willow’s best friends and their significant others. Oh and we get a glimpse at Eloise! I can’t wait for the next book. But now I also wonder if we have some new character’s heading our way. I definitely wouldn’t mind more fun and laughs from this author. Loved Dax and Willow’s story and the crazy way they connected. I also have to admit that after 3 marriages/divorces I’m thrilled that Dax got his HEA and WILLOW! We never really heard a whole lot about Martin in the prior book but I’m SO glad he got the boot (18 cats really???) He definitely WAS NOT Willow’s Hea. She found a good one.
4.5 Stars
I always look forward to a book by Pippa Grant because I know it’s going to be crazy funny. This one was no exception. I was laughing from beginning to end. I couldn’t believe the situations Willow and Dex find themselves in. This is a great book to get lost into because it’s highly entertaining. I just loved Willow. I so want to be friends with her. I would highly recommend this one.
This book has all the makings of a fantastic rom-com! Great storyline, strong female character, witty banter, sexual tension, down on his luck rock star, need I say more? I loved the differences between Willow, the no potty mouthed preschool teacher, and Dax, the down on his luck rock star. I think I’m just gonna say it, Willow is my favorite female lead that Pippa has written. So strong and quirky!
Once again we return to the wild, wonderful, wacky world of supersized and royal hockey players, an all girls boy band cover band and emotional support monkeys, with the addition of stilt fighters, nuns and affectionate farm animals. Truthfully, we all knew Willow wouldn’t really marry Martin, but who could have foreseen what would happen next? After consuming too much mead in the company of the royal sheep, Willow finds herself handcuffed to the world’s biggest rock star, stowed away below deck on a stinky fishing boat. And then things really get interesting. Instead of a hostage stolen away from her wedding at the royal castle, Willow turns the tables and spends her honeymoon taking Dax, her rock star kidnapper, on the adventure of a lifetime through Europe. Now you’re probably asking, “Why would a rock star kidnap a pre-school teacher related to royalty?” That’s actually quite an entertaining story you’ll have to read to believe.
I think Willow’s story will resonate with a lot of readers. If we’re honest, we read fiction to escape real life for a little while, and who wouldn’t love to ditch the day to day routine and go on a crazy, fantastic adventure of a lifetime? And in classic Pippa style, this is one outrageous, hilarious, thrilling adventure. But along with all the madcap antics and zany situations, the changes and growth in both Willow and Dax as their relationship develops is a beautiful, heartwarming delight to watch. Willow breaks out of her pre-school teacher mold and let’s the bold, courageous, risk taker loose. As Dax tags along and observes Willow, doing his best to keep her out of trouble, his perspective on his life and career changes. He realizes not everyone is after him for his fame and fortune, and most of all, he learns to live in the moment, have some fun and actually laugh, which he hasn’t done for a very long time.
It’s always a bittersweet experience when I’ve finished a Pippa Grant book. I’ve laughed till my side hurts and tears are running down my face. I’ve possibly cried but definitely had my heart squeezed within an inch of its life. I’ve lived a grand, exciting adventure that I never want to see end. I’ve loved, both the amazing story as well as these quirky, phenomenal, perfectly flawed and eternally endearing characters who have forever carved their place in my heart. This book touches every part of the reader with its humor, hilarity, tenderness and heart, and I will never get enough of these spectacular, unique, perfectly imperfect characters. If you’ve never read Pippa, seriously, what are you waiting for?!! Her books promise an unparalleled reading experience that will touch your heart, make the worst day brighter, and even help to restore your faith in humanity. Run as fast as you can to the 1-Click button and start reading this book today. I promise, you’ll be glad you did!
This book should be called foreplay. It’s an exciting romp between Willow and Dax. The story is mostly funny, sassy, crazy, uplifting and so entertaining you won’t put it down. If you don’t laugh out loud at the trials they go through during the “kidnapping”, you have serious issues. Best of all, when you finish, you will have a smile on your face. Highly recommend this one by one of my most favorite authors! Who would have thought shy Willow would have so much spunk! And The characters they meet are the greatest. Treat yourself, read this one. I was given this to read as an ARC, I promise this review is my honest opinion. I bought the book too because I intend to re-read it many times.
What do you get when you combine a down-on-his-luck rock star God with a sweet preschool teacher run-away-bride? The best crazy road trip ever!!!!
Willow is amazing. Sassy, crazy, caring. I want to be her friend. Dax is everything you want your super hot rocker boyfriend to be. And their trip?? Epic! Crazed donkeys, a bus full of nuns, random cow humor. I wanted in on their crazy European adventure!!
Definitely a memorable story. Can’t wait to read more from Pippa Grant!!
Runaway bride and a rundown rock star
Hungry for a unique adventure? Want to laugh until you cry? Missing our girls’ boy band crew? Sit down, buckle up and give this a read! Willow and Martin, not gonna happen. She needs to live a little and thanks to Dax, a down on his luck rock star, she starts to show her true wants. Dax needs to exact vengeance and takes it out on Willow. Little does he know that she craves the escape he is offering. These two go on an adventure to rival anything Pippa has yet to dream up. Handcuffs! The Sisters Mary! A stilted war! Absolutely perfect!
Besides the laugh out loud scenes, we get to see Willow come out of her shell. Dax starts to remember who he is as an artist. This story makes you think about what life does have to offer. Are we taking advantage of all the awesomeness that is out there in the great big world? Jump in feet first and enjoy!
“All y’all’s crazy.” That may be the best line to describe this absolutely freaking hilarious book! I seriously laughed and snorted my way through the whole thing. My family thought I was nuts and there was no good way to explain the funny to my kids when there’s lines about sheep breaking wind, dreams of regrowing personal bits shaped line banana with half peels, words like twatasaurus, and a “runaway bride gone wild.”
I don’t know how anyone could turn away after reading the blurb for this book. In this topsy turvy, curve ball book, Willow gets kidnapped by a down on his luck rocker on the eve of her wedding. Dax just wants what was stolen from him returned. Their hilarious adventure through Europe proves that “change isn’t just good. It’s artistically necessary.”
Willow is a straight-laced preschool teacher who has an epiphany the night before her wedding. Her brilliant use of preschool antics makes her character supremely believable while totally endearing. Meanwhile Dax is a rockstar who has lost a fortune to Willow’s fiance. He kidnaps Willow just as she’s “running” away from her wedding. But Willow turns the tables on Dax and decides she needs to fulfill an insane bucket list of items, with his help as a bad boy. Their fantastic friends and family are grand additions to the cast, providing hilarious antics along the way.
Of course the big bad rocker is going to fall for the good girl preschool teacher. And they do so in a spectacular fashion! “I’m a desperate, horny, needy ball of lust.” For real, the steam these two give off could power a locomotive. I loved their interactions, which started off jaded and hateful; but turned salacious in all the best romance novel ways.
Pippa Grant has written such a fast paced romance novel of hilarious proportions. This was my first time reading one of her books, and I’m am seriously hooked. She did a lovely job of bringing the characters, locations, and situations to life. I was drawn in with the flirty yet gritty details that make all the difference in a believable story you can delve into.
“Magic with a sweet melody and a heavy bass beat and a desperate crescendo…” This book is a fantastic romantic comedy that I hope you all take the time to read. Because then you’ll be hooked and attempting to see how many of the author’s books you can get away with buying. Honestly, I had a blast reading this book, and I’m excited to find out more about the characters we read about in this book.
