Rock and roll bands are pits of self-destruction, drug abuse, and insanity. And then there are the bad ones.Killer Valentine breaks all the rules: that the back-up singer is supposed to sleep with the lead singer, that roadies and musos must hate each other, that the band is the most important thing in the world and everything else comes second, even sick kids, and that second-guitar players … that second-guitar players eventually wither away and die.
But Killer Valentine is different. Very different.
Read about:
•Rhiannon, the sassy, curvy back-up singer who goes on to forge her own career, a female protagonist you’ll love!
•Tryp, the drummer, who is falling into a well of despair, but a roadie with a small taste for pyromania fishes him out. This enemies to lovers story is one for the ages.
•Cadell, lead guitar virtuoso, who is fighting his own addictions and his secret baby daughter’s fatal illness. His secret baby is a different take on the trope that will make you ugly cry.
•Peyton, the hanger-on who should have been a concert pianist, after he ran away to follow the woman he loved but who didn’t love him, and finally gets his own HEA. This second chance lovers book is a hot and steamy romp through the life of a rock and roll star.
They’re all rock stars in disguise, and they’re finally all in one book, just for you.

I read all of the books in this boxed set as they were published. When I went back to look up my reviews of the stories, I was shocked to find out that What a Girl Wants is the first book of Blair’s that I read. I would have sworn that Billionaires in Disguise: Rae and Wulf series were the first ones I read. In any case I love Blair’s writing and can’t recommend this boxed set enough. Below are highlights from reviews I wrote for the books when I first read them.
What a Girl Wants – I read and reviewed this book back in December 2015 – four years ago!
Riannon is a down on her luck aspiring singer. Her trials and tribulations after joining a major band, and the interactions between the characters, were interesting to read. I would caution you that if you don’t like references to drugs, and what is probably the seedier side of a rock star’s life, you may not want to read this. However, know that the main characters do not indulge and, in fact, try to prevent others from indulging so this didn’t bother me.
Somebody to Love – Originally reviewed in April 2016
Tryp is a seriously troubled rock star and Elfie is a troubled pyrotechnics technician for the band Killer Valentine. This was a great story and there is no cliffhanger. Elfie is tasked with babysitting Tryp in addition to her duties as a pyrotechnics technician. They grow close and during the telling of their love story you learn about their troubled pasts.
The Rock Stars Secret Baby – Originally reviewed in June 2016
Dr. Andal (Andy) Kumar is the wonderful and compassionate surgeon assigned to care for Cadell Glynn’s daughter, Emily – the daughter that none of his friends know about. Caudell didn’t know that Emily existed until a few months ago and now he’d do anything to make his daughter well again.
Dr. Andy feels an attraction to Cadell that she can’t seem to help. She is touched by the lengths he goes to in order to provide care for Emily. Cadell has serious demons from his past that he must constantly fight so that he doesn’t let Emily down.
My emotions were all over the place while I read this book. In a few places I thought I’d die laughing (conditioner is my new favorite word but I can’t say any more; you have to read the book). At other times the tears flowed freely along with more than a few sobs. Books that touch my emotions deeply are the best in my opinion and this one did that in spades.
Santa Baby – Originally reviewed in November 2017
I loved Santa Baby. We met Peyton in the Rock Stars in Disguise: Georgie series. Peyton and Georgie had a relationship when they were young but Peyton did something pretty bad to destroy that relationship and their friendship. He came back into her life after she was involved with Xan (Alexandre) and apologized for his misdeeds but it was too late; Georgie was in love with Xan.
I’m so glad that Blair decided to give Peyton his HEA and tell us more about him. He is introduced to Raji at a mutual friend’s wedding. They have a quick hook-up and the sparks fly. Raji is a cardiothoracic surgical resident; her only goal is to become the best heart surgeon in the world. She lives for medicine and will let nothing get in her way. That is until life throws her a curve.
Peyton was a bit of a jerk in the Georgie books but boy does he redeem himself in Santa Baby. He and Raji agree to keep tearing up the sheets with each other without any commitment; that’s the way Raji wants it. Peyton loves her and will agree to anything to keep her in his life. Unfortunately, when life throws Raji a curve she backs away from Peyton. From the title we already know that a baby is involved but I’m not giving anything else away. The only other thing I’ll say is that there is definitely an HEA for Peyton and Raji, just the way there should be.
Blair Babylon’s writing always helps to enrich my vocabulary. Here are a few of the words I looked up while reading Peyton’s story: rictus, titer, susurration, and parturition. I love everything about her stories and I can’t wait for the next one!
************
In conclusion – if you like hot rock star stories you can’t go wrong with this boxed set – or any of Blair Babylon’s books.
This Box set presents four interesting and complicated RockStar relationships that range from seriously angsty to very romantic and heartwarming, of course with each story containing serious steam heat. Reading the whole series also gives insight not only into how the band evolves as musicians, but also as an extended family who love and support each other.
I really liked stories one and two, but my favourite was the third offering: The Rock Star’s Secret Baby and that story is going on my All Time Favorites List.
1, What a Girl Wants- Rhiannon – 4.5 Stars
2 Somebody to Love – Tryp – 4.5 stars
3. The Rock Star’s Secret Baby – Cadell 5 Stars
4. Santa, Baby – Peyton – 3 Stars
I first read all the books in this set when they were released individually. They were all excellent and I would definitely recommend reading them. Below are the reviews I originally left for each book.
What A Girl Wants:
I really liked the story of Rhiannon and Jonas and am looking forward to reading upcoming books in the series. The story was an easy read and I had trouble putting it down. I wanted to keep reading to see what would happen next. Rhiannon is a likable character. She has her flaws like the rest of us. She has “chubby” thighs and is self-conscious about her body in front of Jonas. Yet, she has a self-confidence on stage that allows her to succeed and go for her dreams. Jonas falls for her quickly and frequently lets her know how beautiful he thinks she is. They compliment each other well. Some might say the relationship felt rushed, but it is a short story after all. I would have liked the story to be longer to be able to read more about their relationship. Hopefully, we’ll get peaks of it in the upcoming books.
Somebody To Love:
This is the second book in the Rock Stars in Disguise series. While it is a standalone story, I highly recommend reading the first book to have a little background on the supporting characters in this one. As for this story, I absolutely loved Tryp and Elfie! Tryp comes from a background that most of us can’t even imagine. Cast out on his own when he was a young teenager and experiencing multiple losses caused Tryp to find a way to survive. Unfortunately, he turned to drugs and alcohol and building a wall between him and others. Elfie’s upbringing wasn’t much better. She had to grow up too fast but learned to be independent and to take no crap from anyone. Together, they have an understanding of each other and soon learn to lean on and trust one another. The chemistry between the two is “explosive”! I’m eagerly awaiting the next book in the series!
The Rock Star’s Secret Baby:
Wow! This book was awesome!! I have loved every one of Blair’s books that I’ve read, with Working Stiff being my favorite. After reading The Rock Star’s Secret Baby I can say that it has just tied for my favorite. Cadell and Andy’s story will pull at your heartstrings. From the beginning, you know these two will have an uphill battle to love and a happy future with each other. They are both fighters and you know they’ll persevere. To see Cadell fight for his daughter and then fight for Andy and ultimately fight for himself was wonderful! I am sad to see the end of the Rock Stars in Disguise series but am anxiously awaiting Blair’s next book no matter what series it will be a part of.
Santa, Baby:
Every one of the books revolving around the band members of Killer Valentine have been fantastic!! This one is no exception. Peyton has really come across as a jerk in the past. With this story we get to see his softer, gentler side. It was a pleasant surprise. I loved how his and Raji’s relationship was able to develop slowly over time. They made a wonderful couple. I highly recommend this story, as well as all the Killer Valentine stories!
*I voluntarily reviewed Advance Reader Copies of these stories. This is my honest review.*
I have read all of these books and enjoyed them are.
Here are reviews for each.
**What a Girl Wants – Rhiannon **
Cheesy tag line that I made up ahead:
Rhiannon wants to be a professional singer she never thought she would find love along the way.
This was a good book to read. It was fast paced and the characters flowed really well. I was surprised when I got to the end because I was not ready for it to end yet.
I feel that this is tamer compared to some other books that are wrote by Blair but it did not affect the story at all.
I like that this is a stand alone book but knowing I can read about the other band members is pretty neat as well.
**Somebody to Love – Tryp**
As I have said before I love reading about the difference lives of the characters in this series.
Meeting Tryp is a bit different from everyone else though. He does not have the affluent background that the others have but he has made a name for himself by being in the band.
Him being ‘babysat’ by his roadie is the best thing that happens to him since he leads a pretty cliche rock star life that obviously is not doing him any favors.
I do wish that there was more background to Elfie though. Maybe her and tryp can have a side story hidden inside the other books…… =D
I have to say, it is weird when fictional and non fictional worlds collide. Reading about someones upbringing when it has been something you have known about in your life because of living in the same state they did.
I read this after reading a few books about Xan but it holds its own as a standalone and if you were to just read it randomly without any of the other books being read, you would be fine.
It is a great book by itself or reading it as part of the series.
**The Rock Star’s Secret Baby – Cadell**
***per the norm, may contain spoilers, sorry***
Though I am still not sure how to pronounce Cadell (as it Cay-dull or cah-dell or maybe cay-dell?) reading about him and his life was great.
I loved his (mostly) quiet reserved nature that he seems to have compared to his other band mates. It is sad though that he does not think he can tell them about his daughter or Dr. Andy but I guess he has to have some mystery about himself when he is not playing his guitar.
I think it is great that he was able to be friends with someone first before dating them even if their relationship started off ‘bad’. Not that their friendship was bad, just bad circumstances for their meeting. Their whirlwind romance seems crazy but it is perfect when it comes down to what Andy and Cadell both need in their lives.
Though the book takes place because of Cadell finding out he has a kid and needing to take care of her, it does not interrupt the romance of the book and ties together well in the story as a whole.
I love that Blair does so much research before her books. Gives us a bit of a teaching lesson as well as the enjoyment of the book. I am so glad she waited to get this book out. This book is amazing and she definitely finished this series with a bang.
**Santa Baby – Peyton**
I have read all of the Rockstar/Millionaire books. To be honest, I did not really care if there was a Peyton book but knew I would read it anyway. Turns out, I didn’t know I needed his book. It was great.
This book fills up a lot of years by skipping through some of them but at the same time, it flows together doing so to get to the important parts.
I am glad that everyone in the band is happy and that they are all going the directions that they want.
I read all of these books and posted my reviews on Amazon before I even knew about Goodreads. Unfortunately, the fascist regime at Amazon decided to delete all of my reviews and bar me from posting additional ones. That was when I learned the importance of saving my reviews for myself rather than relying on a website to archive them for me.
Now I’ve been asked to aggregate my reviews for each book to post them for this collection. Unfortunately, I no longer have any of those reviews, so I’ve looked here on Goodreads as well as on Barnes and Nobel, Kobo, and Bookbub. I promise, I’ve read and loved all of them. I have no hesitancy in giving this collection five stars.
What a Girl Wants – I couldn’t find a review for this one.
Somebody to Love – I couldn’t find a review for this one.
The Rock Star’s Secret Baby (06-18-2016)- I found this one on Goodreads and B&N. 5 stars!
I did NOT expect Cadell to be so sensitive. By the end of the book, I was in love with him!! He was compassionate, loving, considerate, ethical, and an attentive dad – and fighting his addiction to heroin in a visceral way. In fact, he describes his addiction in such a way that I could feel his pain and his longing for it.
As always, Blair’s writing is amazing – compelling, emotional, and engaging. She is a skilled wordsmith. Some of my favorite lines include:
“Looking at her was like catching his reflection in a funhouse mirror that warped his own face to be tiny and helpless and feminine.”
“That tenuous thing that he called love drifted around him, almost a vapor in his mind.”
“All that weight crushed him like a huge, stone wheel rolling over his chest.”
“I do not,” he said from where he was draped over an armchair, his long arms and legs flowing over the sides like a tarantula stuffed in a thimble.
For me, this book ended all too soon. The epilogue, in particular, seemed to stuff an awful lot of information into a short section. I was happy to read the conclusion, but a part of me felt like it was just too perfect. Maybe I just didn’t want to see it end.
Santa, Baby (11-06-2017) – I found this one on Goodreads. 5 stars!
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review. Like meeting up with old friends, once again I was sucked into the world of Killer Valentine. Each time Blair Babylon dedicates a book to a specific character, she somehow makes me fall in love with them, to the point that I almost forget about how much I’ve loved the others. Each character is lovingly and painstakingly created and brought to life so that I feel their pain and their joy. I especially loved when Georgie told Peyton what she thought of him towards the end of the book. I don’t generally get overly emotional when I read because it’s pretty easy to remember I’m reading a book, and it’s fictional. That doesn’t seem to matter when I read one of Blair Babylon’s books because I’m just certain these are real people.
I’m not going to give a synopsis of the story; you can read the blurb for that. What I am going to say is that any time you have the opportunity to read a book from Blair Babylon, drop everything and do it. She is a master storyteller and I highly recommend everything of hers. This one is relatively short, but packs an emotional punch. Of course, it has a HEA.
So many hot Rocks Stars in one box set; it doesn’t get better than this!
What a Girl Wants – Rhiannon
What a Girl Wants is the break-out story of Rhiannon and her love story with Jonas, despite the non-fraternization clause in her contract. From foster care to back-up singer to break-out star, Rhiannon has lived a difficult life and deserves to make it big.
A true love story.
Somebody to Love – Tryp
Somebody to Love is the story of Tryp, which continues the fabulous Rock Stars series. Throughout the series we have been witness to Tryp drinking too much, sleeping with way too many faceless, nameless willing women, and heading down the wrong path with drugs. So when ‘roadie’ Elfie was assigned to keep an eye on him, keep him sober, and keep him out of trouble, it was so disappointing when he brings her along as his wingman. Thank goodness she fails miserably at being a wingman, and instead helps Tryp begin to face his demons. These two young souls are running from horrific pasts, and in the end are each other’s salvation.
In true Blair Babylon fashion, Somebody to Love has lots of action and steamy sex to make it another addicting read!
The Rock Star’s Secret Baby – Cadell
The Rock Star’s Secret Baby is the story about Cadell, his continued challenge to stay sober, and his reason for staying sober, 2-year old Emily. No one knows Cadell has a baby, and now he is fighting to keep her alive. The one person who has been a constant for both Emily and Cadell is Dr. Andy, who is fighting the constraints of her conservative Indian family who are planning her arranged marriage.
Blair Babylon pushes the boundaries in The Rock Star’s Secret Baby. With Cadeel’s drug addiction, you can almost feel the physical and emotional pain that he is experiencing and how hard it is to not give in. There is the conservative culture that is suffocating Dr. Andy, and the need to break free. And, there are many thought-provoking moments in the hospital when small lives are at stake.
Santa Baby – Peyton
OMG, I absolutely loved Santa Baby! The story of Peyton and Raji was exciting, sexy, fun, emotional, and heart-wrenching. It crossed cultural boundaries; spoke to women in a predominantly male workforce, perserverance, and a strong work ethic. It was truly amazing. And the best part, you got to catch up with all of the other members of the band!
Loved this boxed set; highly recommend this for all to read! Like all other Blair Babylon books, you will not be able to put it down once you start reading.
I read ARCs of the books within this boxed set and willingly left this honest review!
I read each of these books separately and loved them all. Now they are together in one amazing book. The band mates of Killer Valentine have such great stories you will find you cannot put them down. This is one of my favorite authors so I know you will enjoy them as much as I did!
Blair is the queen of story telling. Her stories keep you on the edge of your seat with hot love stories that are full of action, intrigue and mystery.
Each member of Killer Valentine has their own story, and each plays an important role in the Killer Valentine experience on stage. This set takes you into the lives of the band members Tryp, Rhiannon, Peyton and Cadell. They are not the persona you see on the stage; they are so much more! They are strong, resourceful and totally sexy.
Each of the books tell a part of the Killer Valentine story, but they can also be read as a standalone.
I promise if you start reading their stories, you won’t want to quit until you’ve read them all! Blair’s is a genius when it comes to getting you involved with the characters. You’ll be right there with them throughout their adventure, cheering them on, feeling their pain and finding that person who makes them whole.
I received a ARC copy of this box set, in exchange for an honest review, but also purchased a copy to support my favorite author!
This is Rock Stars in Disguise, a boxed set written by Blair Babylon. Each book is about another member of the band Killer Valentine or someone closely related. I read each and every one of these book as they were published and now Ms Babylon has put them into this wonderful boxed set for your reading convenience. Every book is different and they are all filled with the usual elements of a Blair Babylon story. There are funny, cute, sexy feel good moments as well as mystery, intrigue and hidden plot twists. I promise you will love every one of these as much as I do! Enjoy!
What a Girl Wants (Rock Stars in Disguise: Rhiannon) Well Rhiannon knows what she wants, and has lived her whole life pursuing it. When she has the opportunity to audition for Killer Valentine, she doesn’t believe she has a hope.
On tour with the band and manager, she keeps the band out of the negative limelight with Jonas.
Together they are a beautiful couple, musically everyone watches Rhiannon grow!
Somebody To Love (Rock Stars in Disguise: Tryp) I love Tryp. Ànd Elfie is a bright spark in his dark world. This story is action packed and so sensitive. The topics covered are heartfelt and human. It is hard to believe there are people out there who would use and abuse children and call it love!?
Tryp and Elfie get up to some pretty hilarious antics all while looking for some ass. Fun rock and roll band with the usual drama and trying to keep their cool but falling for each other as Elfie calms Tryp after each concert.
These two are incredible and giving. Their rescue is insane and just makes you love them more!
The Rock Star’s Secret Baby (Cadell) Oh Cadell! To live a life so separate that your closest friends don’t even know. So sad. Such a heart wrenching read and so very uplifting as well. He works so hard and gives so much.
Dr. Andy is a stellar match for Cadell. She is easy going, innocent and does what her family tells her – but she is starting to think she needs to think and decide her life for herself.
Together Dr Andy and Cadell do what they can to make Emily better.
Santa, Baby (Peyton)
He really is the quiet one in Killer Valentine. He’s forever ducking out to run off to parts unknown (to the rest of the band anyway). He knows his music isn’t KV’s style but keeps writing it anyway. He’s such a non Rockstar kinda guy.
It’s the quiet ones you have to look out for!
Raji is a resident in the hospital and her life is dedicated to becoming a doctor- a heart specialist. Nothing and no one is going to get in the way of her plan. She has sacrificed everything to get here.
Unbelievably these two hit it off at a wedding…and like the energizer bunny, they keep going and going…until they hit a wall.
Yup there’s trouble brewing and it is an incredible ride through the lives if these two dedicated people.
You are going to love it. Definitely a stand alone which is great and if you’ve read the rest of the books, there are lots of references and glimpses into Killer Valentine.
I love this box set. I enjoyed getting to read about the rest of the band that makes Killer Valentine! Throughout you get glimpses of Xan as well which just makes it even better.
I’ve read all of these books, (I even have 3 of them as paperbacks, signed by the author,) and love having them collected in one place – perfect!
Blair writes the most fascinating characters, from diverse backgrounds, with real, compelling personalities, involved in enthralling, complex plots that can span several books. Often, characters appear in OTHER character’s series, interconnecting them in the most mind-blowing ways… I adore writing like that.
In this set, you get satisfying, stand-alone stories that give you a really healthy dose of “Killer Valentive” goodness, without having to fully devote yourself to a multi book commitment if you don’t have the time. Which is not to say that ANY of the books are short – they certainly are not. But you don’t have to have read any one of them to understand or enjoy the others in the compilation. They’re certainly related to eachother, but not a series.
If you enjoy Contemporary Romance involving Rockstars, interracial/cultural couples, or really any form of Contemporary Romance with a touch of drama (overcoming drug abuse, health issues, cultural misunderstandings, surprise babies… you get the idea), you MUST give this set a try! You won’t regret it, I promise.
What a Girl Wants
Rhiannon is an aspiring singer. She lives and breathes music. She’s given a chance to sing back up for Killer Valentine and leaps at the chance. The band’s manager Jonas is all work, all the time. He doesn’t have a home or a safe place to land. The two develop a deep connection, but what will happen when the band finds out? I loved Rhiannon and Jonas so much! They felt the need to be together, but there was so many what ifs. Rhiannon was taking a huge leap and it could prove disastrous. One thing I loved so much was that when they realized how they felt, there was no flip flopping, no hiding.
Somebody to love
The second book, Somebody to Love was so good. It dealt with some heavier topics. Tryp is Killer Valentine’s drummer and on a destructive path. There are some things in his past that are brutal and heartbreaking, even more heartbreaking because it happens in real life. The same is true for resident pyrotechnician, Elfie. Both of these have horrifying pasts and cope the best way they know how. They have kind of known each other, but things get interesting when Elfie begins to try to keep Tryp from destroying himself. This book has action, suspense, love and so much more!
The Rock Star’s Secret Baby is the third book in the box set and absolutely a must read! Andy is a pediatric transplant doctor specializing in liver transplants. She is the most amazing woman but is made to feel less than by her Very traditional Indian family. There are generations of rules and practices that are so hard to break from. She meets Cadell because of a daughter he recently learned about. His daughter Emily is in liver failure and very sick. I loved so much how sweet and caring Andy is. She really wants to please everyone because she has been conditioned to do so. She develops such a strong bond with Emily and it really shines on the pages. Cadell is equally as amazing. To struggle through the addiction by sheer will and love for his daughter is the ultimate example of what a parent should do. I loved how enraged he was on Andy’s behalf and how committed he was to live for Emily to get what she needed from him even if he were die because of it.
The fourth and final book, Santa, Baby, was icing on the cake. Another emotional read that will have you falling in love with Peyton and Raji. These two meet at a wedding and can’t seen to stay away from each other. They have a long distance fling, well really it was falling in love, even if it’s hard for some to admit. The trouble is that Raji is in a competitive cardiothoracic transplant residency that leaves little time for other commitments. She has a lot of weight on her shoulders. Peyton has had a weird few years. He’s made mistakes and tried to fix them which led him to Raji. How will these two get on the same page and prioritize each other and their dreams?
Each book in this box set is a hit. I loved them all for different reasons. This is not formulaic writing. Each book has its own voice with very different characters. No rinse and repeat. Some books deal with harder topics, but there is always a bit of humor added to lift you up when needed. This box set has everything a reader is looking for, action, heat, heart break, humor, and so much love! Blair Babylon is a top five author for me from this box set alone! Read this, you wont regret it!
These books immediately draw you in and will not let you go. You go through four relationships in this box set and none of them disappoint. You laugh, cry and are on the edge of your seat throughout all of these books. I cannot wait to see if there will be more set with Killer Valentine.
Love, Lust and a LOT of Rock and Roll. The sum of the parts makes Killer Valentine even better. As the members of the band find love in unexpected places in each of their stories. What is each member of the band willing to give up to fight for love?
What a Girl Wants – Rhiannon MaCallen & Jonas Rees – The backup singer and the band manager. With a strict new no-fraternization policy in place, can curvy sultry Rhiannon and workaholic Jonas keep their growing love a secret? Will the stress of touring with rock Gods get to them first?
Somebody To Love – Tryp Areleous & Elfie Tilsi – The drummer and the pyro technician. Rule on the tour, musos don’t mix with the roadies. Can the two reach a working balance? Will they be able to save each other from their monsters?
The Rock Star’s Secret Baby – Cadell Glynn & Andy Kumar – The lead guitarist and pediatric surgeon. When recently recovering drug addict meets his daughter’s doctor sparks fly. But she’s is a traditional obedient India woman set to marry a stranger in 2-3 weeks time. Can they break out of their public roles to embrace each other?
Santa, Baby – Peyton Cabot & Raji Kannan – The reluctant rocker spends his downtime stealing moments when he can with the rebellious Indian surgeon, self-described with stone cold lizzard’s heart. Can these two bend and flex with each other to get to where they want to be? Change their life plans for each other?
I received an ARC for a voluntary and honest review.
I loved each and every story on their own. Each book is amazing and well written. I love the characters and each ones story and how we still get glimpses of the past characters in each book. I recommend this rock stars series set!
Rock & Roll All Night!
The Rock Stars In Disguise (RSID) is an AWESOME series that will hook you from the first words! These contemporary romance books are so much more than you’d expect from a typical rock star romance. It pulls us fully into the world of the band Killer Valentine – an up and coming rock group full of unimaginably talented and tortured souls. Each member has their own vibrant personality and jagged flaws; Blair pours their thoughts and experiences through the pages and embeds them directly into your brain (it’s amazing).
Each of the stand-alone books contained in this anthology chronicles one band member’s journey to find their HEA. Caution: do NOT make the mistake of thinking that any their paths will be easy ones! These musos are brilliant and broken in unique and complicated ways. I’m a fan of Blair Babylon’s writing style and imagination – I’ve found her to be a first-rate storyteller across a multitude of series. Her books are well planned out, meticulously detailed, and superbly executed. Every story is emotional and intense. I was on a crazy-intense roller coaster of feels right from the start!
I’m not going to review each of the books here or this post would be five pages long! Instead I’ll give a few thoughts on Tryp and Elfie’s story (Somebody to Love) – I think he’s my favorite. Very (very) hard to choose though, Cadell is a close second.
Tryp, KV’s drummer, is outwardly living the rock star lifestyle, at times barely functional due to drug and alcohol abuse and past hurt. Elfie is the band’s pyrotechnics engineer, bribed by the manager into the additional job of “handling” Tryp and try to keep him out of trouble (or at the very least, alive). She wants nothing to do with him other than as a means to an end for her own long-term goals. She hasn’t had an easy life either, but she is a good person and treats him kindly (even when he’s a mess). She soon realizes that there is much more to Tryp and his vices than she could have ever imagined. Slowly, Tryp and Elfie learn to trust each other (and themselves), and start working together to excise their demons. They find that they are stronger than they know, and better together. They deserve their HEA, but in true Blair style, those traumas won’t be going down without a fight!
This is an outstanding box set – it’s so nice to have all of our band member’s stories in one place (save for Xan – and YES, you should read his books too! If you haven’t yet, I recommend starting with Every Breath You Take – Xan & Georgie Book #1).
I voluntarily received an ARC in exchange for an honest review, although I had already owned 3 of the 4 books included in the box set individually. In fact, I’ve read more than a dozen of Blair’s books, and not once have I been disappointed.
I’m Completely Addicted to this Series!!
I read each of the books contained within this set when they were first released individually. I have compiled all of my reviews on each book here.
What a Girl Wants- Rhiannon
I have been a fan of Blair Babylon’s writing since first reading book #1 in the Billionaires in Disguise Series featuring Rae and Wulf. I was pleased to read that the author’s writing style continued to exceed all my expectations in “What a Girl Wants”. The depiction of the world of living life in a rock band is so vividly described that I often wondered if the author was herself a musician or at one point was in a rock band. Her use of imagery easily transported my imagination into the workings of the daily lifestyle that comes with being in an up in coming rock band such as Killer Valentine. Jonas’ and Rhiannon’s love story flowed easily and I truly enjoyed “watching” these two slightly broken individuals come together and finally find comfort and a sense of home with each other. I look forward to reading the next book in the series featuring the band’s drummer, Trypp, as well as one day finding out what the author has in store for the other members of Killer Valentine, such as Xan and Cadell.
Somebody to Love: Rock Stars in Disguise: Tryp
“Somebody to Love” is the telling of Tryp and Elfie’s tragic to triumphant story within the Rock Stars in Disguise series. Typical of author Blair Babylon’s writing, the reader will find themselves unable to put this book down, possibly losing hours of sleep until every single page has been read in one sitting. The author has truly mastered creating characters so complex and broken that the reader is left feeling emotionally raw from the roller-coaster journey on which they have been lead.
I thoroughly enjoyed “watching” these 2 broken and messed up souls come together, develop a friendship and fall in love. As their damaged pasts were revealed, their growing friendship provided them the strength and desire to not only heal and forge on, but to fall in love as well. Love truly does conquer all. Buy this book, you will NOT be sorry that you did!
The Rock Star’s Secret Baby: Rock Stars in Disguise: Cadel
This book seriously pulled at my heartstrings. The author’s previous books tend to take the reader on a wild emotional roller coaster ride of extreme highs and lows, with a dash of mystery, suspense and intrigue thrown in to always keep the reader lusting for more. This book, however, started on a more melancholy note centering around a child’s sickness and the melancholy theme continued throughout approximately 90% of the book. The plot was a slow, sweet ride that took the reader from the occasional tear to cheering out loud. While normally I prefer plots that give off an adrenaline junky high at the conclusion of the book, I definitely could not put this book down. I desperately needed to know what happens to Emily. Does Cadell achieve his dream to have a family of his own? Will Andy stand up for herself to her family and finally start making her own decisions about her life based on her own heart’s true desires?
This book concludes the story of the rock band Killer Valentine in a way that leaves my curiosity appeased and my heart satisfied. Blair Babylon has done it again! I am already looking forward to seeing where her future writing endeavors take us! Read the entire series, you will not be disappointed!
Santa, Baby (Rock Stars in Disguise: Peyton): A Rock Star Surprise Baby Christmas Romance
Goodness, Blair Babylon can weave a tale like no other! “Santa, Baby” is the conclusion to her epic series revolving around the members of the mega rock band Killer Valentine. This book focused on the band’s bassist, Peyton Cabot. The final member of the band who had not yet gotten married, he is tired of being a third wheel at events and after shows. He wants to meet the love of his life, settle down and start a family. Life as a member of a world renowned rock band was not how he envisioned life for himself. When he meets Dr. Raji Kannan, a cardiothoracic surgeon with balls of steel, at a wedding he knew he had met the woman of his dreams. Now how does he go about convincing her to give him her phone number and a chance at a date? They had already had the one night stand. Now Peyton wants a million more nights with this woman.
(While I refuse to spoil this book for others, I do just want to say that I LOVED the event that happened at the hospital during the last quarter of the book. So fitting and brilliant!)
As always with a book written by Blair Babylon, the writing is crisp and poignant, heavily detailed in description to paint a flowing picture, but never to the point of excess where it turns off the reader. I always feel like I am literally standing in a room watching the action unfold live when I read one of her stories. The characters are raw, emotional and real. The storylines are intriguing, with enough twists and turns to leave the reader constantly guessing and unable to put the book down at bedtime. The sexual chemistry combustible and unpredictable. I have read every book in this series and am genuinely sad that it is over.
I look forward to seeing what concept will be behind this author’s next series. I can guarantee that I will be reading and savoring every word written upon its release. Please make sure to read Santa Baby and every book in this series. It is nothing short of literary genius!
I was absolutely hooked with this set of books.
The characters seem so real that they seem to
come alive on the pages
Great plots with very interesting characters.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
I have read all of these stories and loved every single one.
The stories follow a rock band through love, hurt, trials and tribulations.
Killer Valentine and its bandmates take you on one heck of a thrilling ride.
We get Georgie and Xan, Rae and Wulf, and so much more. This author’s stories keep you pinned to the pages, and then you hope for more.
AIl excellent reads from one of my favorite authors. I must admit, Tryp and Cadell are my faves in this group, but all are interesting in their own way. Don’t miss these at a great price. Another for your TBR list. I must warn you, these books are addictive, you will find yourself purchasing more.
