I knew better and I let it happen anyway.I was drawn in by her kindness and the way she sees into people. The way she looks through their motivations, their fears, into the heart of them where the good waits. One glance and she’s stripped away the layers we wrap ourselves in to keep from being unique. She saw into me.Then used it to her advantage. Now, my son is in danger and if she’s behind it, … she’s behind it, there won’t be a hole deep enough for her to hide in.
I broke my own rules for Naomi.
My son will not pay the price.

Deep breath… OOOMMMM, trying to calm and ground myself. It isn’t working. Yikes. My mind is still trying to process this read. This book (WTH) SO GOOD. Let me tell you more.
First off, HOOOLLLY HECK my menopausal ovaries where flipping from this HOT book cover. Eek. I want to hold that baby and maybe its daddy. (Wink) Hee hee!
Geesh this story picks up right where book one left us. Yes I went in thinking how ‘the guitar picks’ is this author going to explain everything. Uummm what was I thinking, this author NEVER disappoints. She answers all beautifully.
I continue to love Naomi in book two, even with some of her mistakes, my allegiance never wavered. She is so AMAZING with baby Caden and she has a forgiving heart when needed, without being a doormat. Go girl. (Fist bump)
Axton is still a bit of a turd in this book but truthfully what else would you expect. He is a rockstar that has issues from his horrible childhood. He is his own worst enemy for a good portion of this book. His redemption, he is such a good dad. (Sigh)
This read gives us moments when the band gets together and it compliments the story so. They are so funny and delicious as a whole. (WINK) Yes I might have some rockstar fantasies, don’t judge me. (Haha)
Plan for a twist like no other. I did not see it coming… yep that is ALL I am saying.
Ok I lied, one more thing. I need Dani’s story next… I need the details. Jus’ sayin’.
Hope you enjoy what I feel is a five star read as much as I did. Happy Reading Everyone! XOXO
Ugh, it didn’t take much to really despise Axton. He was an alpha…ick. I understood why, but he, to me, was overkill. Even finding out why didn’t make me like him, but Patrick was more my style. Ax was a really great father, though. This story between he and Naomi was a totally tangled mess and when I could finally follow, it took off in another direction. That is *not* saying anything bad about the writing or the story. It was brilliant, but chaotic. I wanted to pull out my hair or throw my phone, but it was brilliant. I even started to warm up to Axton in the end…maybe. Just read it…and hold on tight.
This is the 2nd part of this phenomenal duet, and Axton and Naomi’s story continues straight on from the ending of the 1st novel. This is a beautifully written tale from this gifted author, and is an emotional roller coaster journey throughout, and is a gritty and heart-breaking read with unexpected twists, betrayal, hatred, humour and love. I was totally intrigued and captivated throughout this riveting page turner. I highly recommend this duet for all.
This book was seriously amazing!! After reading part 1 I was left going OMG WTF and needing answers! This book definitely gives you all the answers you need and more. You are left on edge wondering what is coming next and more. The heartbreak you feel between Axton and Naomi makes your heart hurt too. You can feel the struggle they have to deal with and you honestly don’t know if they will overcome it and get there HEA. I highly recommend reading this duet and finding out for yourself if they receive their HEA.
Wow! What a fantastic conclusion to this amazing duet! My poor heart almost didn’t survive Axton and Naomi’s story. It was so utterly heartbreaking and filled with so much emotion, but I loved every single second of it. The heartache, the pain, the plot, the writing, the characters. S.M. Shade certainly didn’t hold anything back. It started off with a bang and finished even stronger.
Rock Star, Unbroken starts off exactly where Rock Star, Interrupted left off with Naomi behind bars and the continued search for little Caden. As can be expected, Axton is a wreck. Just as he lets his guard down and starts to fall for Naomi, tragedy strikes and old fears begin to resurface. He is sick with worry over his son, but at the same time feels betrayed by Naomi.
I honestly wasn’t sure these two could get past all of the secrets, lies and betrayal. But they do, even though it takes a while. Axton certainly comes across as a mega alphahole, but he definitely redeems himself as we progress into the story. As much as I disliked him at times, by the end, I was head over heels in love with him.
Overall, this was one phenomenal duet! I can’t even begin to recommend it enough. S.M. Shade certainly knows how to hook you and keep you invested until the very end. Once I started this book, I simply could not put it down. And although this duet has come to an end, I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for us next. Five stars for Axton, Naomi and Rock Star, Unbroken!
This book man! what a freaking ride, it had me on the edge of my seat the entire time, it was simply perfection.
I’m normally not a fan of rockstar raimcne but this duet….. it sucked me in right from the start and wouldn’t let me go. The characters were so easy to love, the plot, easy to follow but also kept me on the edge of my seat, the banter and steam were awesome and the story as a whole was something that will stick with me. These characters have their ups and downs, show that they aren’t perfect but in the end we’re perfect for each other.
At times I felt like the story moved too fast. The big moments were great, but while we got closure, I left like it was really fast and wanted it to be more drawn out.even with that I’m so sad to see this duet end, but will visit this duet again because it’s reread worthy. 5 stars #2OCCJD
I have been anxiously awaiting the sequel to Rock Star Interrupted so I was thrilled to get an ARC for it. Usually sequels are a bit of a let down, but after the mind blowing cliffhanger of the first book it is definitely not the case here. If you have read Rock Star Interrupted you will know that Axton finally starts to trust and fall in love with his son’s nanny Naomi, and it finishes with the kidnapping of his son Caden with Naomi being injured and in the hospital.
At the beginning of Unbroken you are left trying to pick up the pieces and figure out who the heck could have done it? The last thing you expect is what Ms Shade gives us, certainly not expecting that one! As Axton is frantically looking for his son Naomi is arrested and the secrets that she has kept hidden from him are revealed and the trust between them seems to be irrevocably broken.
What a heartbreaker! Naomi goes into hiding to escape the paparazzi and decide what she is going to do with her life. Axton is too angry to think straight until his son’s pain finally makes him see sense and he goes after her. A truce is called for his son’s sake and Naomi goes back to being Caden’s nanny, but can her relationship with Axton beyond repair?
Yeah this one was a shocker! but so well done, lots of anguish and pain but you will be rooting for a happy ending for these two.
An awesome conclusion to this amazing duet. Rockstar, Unbroken is full of heartbreak, forgiveness and love.
While he will stop at nothing to be sure his son is protected he realizes his choices aren’t only breaking his own heart but his son’s. He must revise everything that has happened and the choices he has made since the tragic incident.
Everything isn’t always what it seems.
A beautiful and heart wrenching ending to a fabulous duet!
Highly recommended!
Hell. Freaking. Yes!!
The intense conclusion to Ax and Naomi’s story is an absolute hit! After the betrayal, the heartbreak, and the unbelievable chemistry of the first book, you get to find out how things turn out. You were left with so many unanswered questions in the first book that you head into this book unsure what was to come, and who to believe.
This book gives you answers, then put you the wringer a few more times as the Tragic roller coaster whips you in every emotional direction. You will feel everything for these characters, and you’ll feel strong emotions along the way. Positive and negative ones. But it’s all worth it! The twists and turns that this book takes you through will leave you satisfied, well spent, and aching to read it all over again.
This is an absolute must read book!
What can I say about this master piece. I absolutely love S.M. Shade work. It grabs your attention and you want to finish it in one sitting. I’ve read this story twice. The first time I couldn’t come out with the words for a review. So I went back to the beginning and read them together and oh my, I absolutely loved the book during the first read but loved it even more with book one fresh and re reading the conclusion to this epic duet. This right here is how you end a series.
Rock Star, Unbroken picks up right where book one ends, if you haven’t read book one get on that asap. Naomi is behind bars, Axton is a wreck with the continued search for Hatch. Can Axton get over the betrayal he feels from Naomi, I guess your going to have to read it to find out :).
I can’t wait to see what S.M. Shade has in store for us next. <3
Wow! SM Shade killed me with that cliffhanger at the end of Rock Star, Interrupted! But she totally made up for it with the conclusion! And there was a twist or 2 that I did NOT see coming! You get some more of the back story about how Naomi came to be there, and you also get to find out more about Axton’s past that he is so terrified to relive! This book absolutely completed their story and brought it full circle. There was heat, passion, joy, fun and some punch to the gut revelations that just had me reeling! This rock star/single dad romance is worth every single one of the 5 I am giving it! But I am not going to lie….. I kind of want to see poor Patrick get a story…. he needs a HEA too! And it may be fun to see Dani get her story too!
After that cliffhanger in the previous book, I didn’t know what to expect in this one! This book was as engaging and entertaining as I expected. There is an unexpected twist in the plot that I did not see coming at all! It’s so good!
Rock Star, Unbroken was at the top of my highly anticipated reads for 2020. Shade left me reeling at the end of Rock Star, Interrupted, with that damn cliffy (I loved it though). I had so many theories running through my head on how she would fix it, and boy was I blown away with the thought and the care Shade took to write this part of Naomi and Axton’s story .
The turmoil picks right back up at the beginning. The emotions didnt stop. The twists and turns kept coming. There were more than a couple moments where I was sent spinning.
The Tragic Duet are two of Shade’s best writing
All I can say is WOW! The ending of the Rock Star duet is so good! The things that happens between Aston and Naomi and of course Hatch made for a twisty rollercoaster of a read. The back and forth will leave your head spinning.
This is the second book and the first has to be read first. Do not read the review if you haven’t read the first book.
The end of the book left us with a huge shocking cliffhanger and I know my was down to the ground. That being said my heart knew that Naomi Wells was innocent but would Axton Todd ever believe her and let her near Caden again?
My heart was just shattered for what Naomi went through and everything she was subjected to after. I knew there was no way she would have been involved in what went down but she needed to go somewhere to find herself again and I love where she went and why.
I was so mad at Axton through a bunch of this book for how he treated Naomi. I realize that she kept a really big secret from him and that would have been devastating to find out but he was just so cruel and wanted to keep on hurting her. Even after knowing the truth he still continued to berate Naomi and keep her at a distance.
I was very proud of Axton for doing what was best for Caden, even if it wasn’t what he wanted. I knew things would gradually thaw between them but I didn’t know how much back and forth there would be that involved everyone’s emotions. I was not disappointed at all with this as the two were so hot together yet Axton was also so cold after realizing what he had done.
I was so mad at Paige for her actions with talking to the press and I was definitely worried how that would affect Naomi and all of the progress she made. It was interesting how Axton chose to believe some of the press at the end of the first book yet in this book he finally said for Naomi to ignore the press when it came to her life.
There was a super important conversation between Axton and Naomi regarding each of their pasts and how shockingly similar they were and the differences between the way each looked at it. I loved this scene and it brought tears to my eyes.
The events at White Sky Resort were huge and I was shocked at what happened and everything that was revealed. I was definitely holding my breath although I knew things had to change!
The very end was incredible and my heart was so filled with happiness!!!
This was such an incredible duet and I can’t wait for more from this author!!!
I have just read the second part of this duet and totally dumbfounded by the drama that was packed into this amazing book.
Just when you think you know who you can trust and are safe. Out from the shadows comes your worst nightmare.
I have been waiting so patiently for this second part of the duet to be released for reviewing after the ending of the first story. However. Nothing could have prepared me for the drama that unfolds. You know when reading most books like this the ending and you probably wouldn’t be wrong. But it is the drama along the way thst keeps you wanting and needing more.
S.M. Shade knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat. Knows how to keep you so engulfed in a story that you forget to put the tea on for the kids (please note no kids were starved in the reading of this story, they ate crackers and dried cereal instead). Keeps you wanting to turn pages quicker than you can actually read to see the outcome.
I don’t really want to put much more as I don’t want to spoil it for you. Just know that you won’t be disappointed. So much emotion poured into an amazing duet. I really recommend you pick up book one if you have not done so already and be prepared not to leave your comfy place until both books are read. I am so lucky to get ARCS from this amazing, talented writer and can not wait to share more from her in the future.
Please can we have a story from Dani, Jude and Patrick? I love those guys and need to know what their futures hold.
Ok Shannon you are forgiven for that cliff hanger in book one. Seriously I thought I would die at the end of that book and waiting for this one felt like it would never end. Axle and Naomi broke my heart and piece by piece these two beautifully flawed characters sewed it back together. Two people who’s emotional baggage is overwhelming fall in love and secrets threaten to destroy them. Can Axle forgive and trust Naomi again. You have to read the first book in the series big trust me you won’t be disappointed. Happy 2020 people…. S. M Shade has started it off right.
This book will rip your heart out and slowly put it back together. The ending to this duet is just perfect. Naomi and Axton have had to fight through a lot to get to the end. There are some serious surprises in store regarding the kidnapping of Caden. I truly loved this book.
Okay, so writing this without spoilers is going to be hard because a certain author decided to do an ENTIRE book of WTF just happened here moments!
So, while yes, Axton is a total ahole rockstar, and there are so many moments where I wanted to smack him upside the head, there were also moments Shade had me all teary eyed over him, so wonderful the ahole we fall in love with, especially when Caden is around!
Then there is Naomi, or Nay mi. Seriously, if I say anything about her I think I’ll give something away, but I will say that this is one character that went through the ring…
And talk about surprises around every corner, even Dani had secrets…
