I knew better and I let it happen anyway.I was drawn in by her kindness and the way she sees into people. The way she looks through their motivations, their fears, into the heart of them where the good waits. One glance and she’s stripped away the layers we wrap ourselves in to keep from being unique. She saw into me.Then used it to her advantage. Now, my son is in danger and if she’s behind it, … she’s behind it, there won’t be a hole deep enough for her to hide in.
I broke my own rules for Naomi.
My son will not pay the price.

Finally, this booklover has closure!
I couldn’t wait to see how the events from the end of Rockstar Interrupted would play out in the final book of this Tragic Duet. I didn’t realize when I started reading the 1st book that it would end with a cliffhanger, let alone such an explosive one. Killed me to have to wait for the rest but anyone that starts reading it now will not have the same problem with waiting, stress or worry because you can binge the entire duet right now..lucky you! It’s a realllly great read.
I was sucked right back into the story, how could I not be? Axton was hard to resist, even if he was an alpha hole (which I personally love) in the beginning of Interrupted, he certainly redeemed himself, learning to love his son, beginning to have feelings for sweet Naomi and then that big stunner…What the what???
Yes, things aren’t looking good at all as we step back into this world where Naomi is accused of something so hard to wrap your head around and Axton doesn’t want anything to do with her or hear anything she has to say in her own defense. You almost can’t blame him for it when you find out what it is, but wow Axton. She wouldn’t be involved in any of this, would she? Things look really, really bad right now and there is angsty drama is in every page you turn. Some of it was hard to ‘watch’ but even teary eyed, I hoped for the best. I had lumps in my throat many times along with those tears but that just shows what a great story S.M. Shade wrote to make me feel all these emotions.
I’m not into giving away too many details and risk ruining the bigtime suspense that is filling these chapters for new readers. Everyone is affected in some way or another by these awful events- hurt, sorrow and pain take center stage and even when you think things might take a better turn, some new twist will come out of nowhere to slap you down a peg and keep you wondering if a happy ending is in the cards.
I would classify this rock and roll rollercoaster of a story this way- 1st of all, unputdownable for sure, suspenseful with a dash of twisty thriller mixed in, a heartstring puller, sweet, sexy, character driven and so up my alley that it will be a very long time before this story leaves my brain…I thinks it’s permanently imprinted there now! Vividly painted writing takes you right into the story and keeps you there, laughing at little Caden, worrying for Naomi, ready to almost kick some rockstar ass and then…well…if you just love an exciting book with some major feels mixed in, don’t wait- grab both of these books and get settled in for an emotional story that you will hopefully love as much as I did today.
This book picked up where the first one left off and the first one definitely left me with heart palpitations and wondering holy crap did that just happen, so to say I was beyond excited to read this is a big understatement. Axton is beyond mad at Naomi and the situation they are in, but he more concerned about finding and getting his son back. Naomi finds herself in an awful predicament and we know she isn’t guilty but because she wasn’t 100% honest with Axton things don’t look good for her. She is hated and abandoned by those she considered friends and the man she loved, she doesn’t know what to do and finds herself becoming desolate. The author really took Naomi’s pain and made so tangible that I was hurting along with her wishing and praying she found a way out of this and get her man back. Without giving too much away Naomi and Axton find themselves in a situation that leaves them in the realm of I love you but hate you and tormenting you gives me some joy, until Axton realizes Naomi’s suffering too and that doesn’t bring him as much joy as he thought it would. There were so many twists and turns I wasn’t sure how it would all play out and if Ax and Naomi could find their happiness again and this torture was hard but made the book beyond amazing.
The ending to Axton and Naomi was night and day in comparison to book one. I got to know Ax better and learn more about him. It helped me understand where he was coming from so much better. I still wanted to throat punch him a few times because he was still a jerk but I understood it better. It was easier for me to like him after learning more about him. I still felt like there was a lot of relationship development between Ax and Naomi and Ax and Caden that was told to me instead of seeing but I enjoyed this book much more than the first one. I enjoyed this duet and would recommend it.
Rock Star, Unbroken was the perfect conclusion to this duet. This one starts right after everything takes place in Rock Star, Interrupted. Axton and Naomi’s story is heartbreaking and so emotional! I loved the switch of POVs and after all the twists in the first book, I had no clue how this one would go.
It was hard to know what to believe after everything we find out, so I didn’t know who I could trust. Even though this is a romance, I did enjoy that not everything was all good right away. There were so many real emotions and challenges they both go through.
Axton already had so many trust issues and after opening up with Naomi, the betrayal hurt even more. His chapters were really interesting to read, because reading about how he was thinking and feeling really helped me understand everything going on. I loved that we got to know more about this rock star with a bumpy past.
Naomi was a lot different than I expected as well, but this story opened up a whole new side of everything. It was painful to read and so emotional. She felt really genuine though, especially in her love to that little boy. She’d do anything for Axton’s son. This book was a big journey for her as well. A lot of pieces left to a puzzle and things not going as planned.
Rock Star, Unbroken is definitely slow burn, but so worth every minute of reading. Some events near the end weren’t really something that I felt needed to happen, but it definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. All in all, I really loved this conclusion to Axton and Naomi’s story. They’re very special!
Rock Star, Unbroken is the perfect ending to the Tragic Duet. It blends the perfect amount of angst, anger, tragedy, suspense & love.
This book picks right up where the first one ended, leading you right through the trials and tribulations facing Axton & Naomi.
So as not to spoil anything, just know the books takes you on a twist & turn adventure. It’s a definite one-click!
So it left it on a cliff hanger, in book 1. But, all is forgiven. So many turns and uncertainty for these two, as both are fighting their own demons. So many truths are revealed.
This was the perfect ending to the Axton and Naomi’s story. That man totally had my heart in a vise for most of the book but he finally wised up.
This second book in the Tragic duet had my heart firmly in my mouth from the very beginning as the story continued from where Rock Star, Interrupted ended. I was desperate to see what was going to happen next and S.M. Shade did not disappoint at all. All the questions that I had buzzing round in my mind from the first book were answered and although I wasn’t completely surprised at some of the outcomes, I loved how the author wrote this story with twists and turns that had me second guessing myself at times.
I adore Axton and Naomi, now more so than ever. The chemistry between them never diminished even when circumstances made them both question if any sort of relationship between them was possible. I could see and understand the difficulties that they had with regards to acknowledging their feelings and trying to work through them. Forgiveness, trust and love are all very important and if one of them is questioned then in my opinion I think any friendship/relationship will struggle and I hoped that the couple could work through their doubts and the situation they found themselves in, because it wasn’t only the couple that were suffering.
This story is tragic and beautiful and is filled with lots of emotion. Once you start reading you will not want to put either book down. This incredible duet is up there with my favourite reads and I can’t wait for more from this author! I award it five stars and a high recommendation for you to read because I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
Rock Star, Unbroken jumped right back in where Rock Star, Interrupted left off. And that is exactly what I needed because I have been desperately awaiting this book.
There was so much intensity and emotion and angst in this story. Normally I’m not an angsty book fan but I was devouring this one. I smiled, shed a tear and just enjoyed my self as I was reading it.
Axton was very hard to not want to alternately shake and hug as this story unfolded. But I couldn’t stay mad for too long when I knew what was going on in his head. Thank goodness for alternating points of view. Naomi was still just a great character. She was impossible for me to not like.
I loved this whole book and duet. I look forward to more from Axton’s fellow band members and just hope for many more books to come from S.M. Shade.
“If everything is temporary, than you should find happiness in every little thing you can”
“With music playing in the dark”
An all-time favorite!!!this story made me fall for the bad boy! I was enthralled by all the twists in the final half of the duet. This story is so full of drama that you will not want to put it down! The ending is absolutely outstanding and may even be put back on my list to read again and again!
This is the second book in the Tragic Duet series, and the conclusion to Axton, and Naomi’s story. When Naomi puts Axton’s son, Caden in danger, Axton kicks her out of their life. But when nothing will sooth Caden, Axton realizes he has to put his own feelings aside for his young son. This series was emotional, I loved Axton, and Naomi’s story, it was heartbreaking, raw, and gripping. This book was well written, the characters captivated me, and they had an amazing chemistry. This story will take you on a roller coaster of twist, and turns. I highly recommend this series, it’s a must read. 4.5 Stars
“ . . ’ .”
Y’all. I am still screaming, but definitely not for the same reasons as before!
The cliff Shade left us on, I was uncertain about where it was gonna go. Did I invest a whole book in liking someone that could do awful things? Is my judge of character bad?
Well. It might be, but I’m sure not gonna admit it to y’all. Either way.
The rocker and his nanny. The turmoil, the mystery, the dynamic between the two.
I was scorched by their chemistry, enthralled with their story, and ANGRY with these plot twists!
What kind of person does this to people?
Well, this author does, and I am HERE for it!
I highly recommend wrapping up this duet, they certainly have lived up to their name.
Unbroken, the ending to the Rock Star duet. The story starts right were we left off in the first book, Interrupted. With a big ass cliffhanger, I might add…!
This story is so heartbreaking in so many ways. And yet it is heartwarming. The author didn’t mind her twist and turns in this story. One right after the other!
Reading the ending, I might have teared up a bit. The chemistry and the warmth between the MC is so adorable. And with a side of sass that’s just made it all perfect!

Rock Star ,Unbroken by S.M. Shade pushed every single button for me. A broken and angry rockstar with the most swoonworthy and protective heart ever. A beautiful, passionate and amazing woman who is going to change his world forever. And a captivating, powerful, thrilling and heartaching story line packed with genius writing of S.M. Shade. And WE HAVE A WINNER.
S.M .Shade left me in a cruel cliffhanger hell and we picked up right from there. Naomi is being charged for kidnapping Caden, Axton’s son. The boy who is also her nephew and the boy she nannied for. But she is innocent and some shady elements of her past did this. She may be proven innocent later but this completely destroys the trust between her and Axton. Axton is angry, hurt and completely shocked over this apparent betrayal by Naomi. And more so because he has feelings for her and his past traumatic experiences are bringing back demons he cannot handle. But Caden needs Naomi after all the chaos. And so does he. Can they move beyond the obstacle? What is waiting for them next?
I love Naomi. I love Axton. I love their twisted, tragic, soul deep and all consuming chemistry. I broke down so many times while reading this story. My heart was breaking so badly from Axton’s agony and pain. He has so much to suffer and those are not easy things at all. He is the epitome of brooding, angst filled and intriguing musician. Naomi is a source of light, peace and support in his whirlwind rockstar life. This woman is simply incredible. She has so much strength in her sweet and compassionate heart. She stood by Axton through heaven and hell. And I was dying from all the swoony feelings while reading about their shared love for Caden! The chemistry is a slowly building fire that turned into a raging inferno even after them denying it too much. The twists and turns kept me glued to the pages like my life depends on it! And I did not see it coming! What a fabulous ending to a fabulous story!
S.M .Shade made me swoon, sigh, curse, scream and cry from all the epic emotions in Rock Star, Unbroken. It was a brilliantly written musical and magical love story with edge of angst and heartbreak.
Received ARC for Honest review
This duet Has everything. There was mystery, suspense, action, chemistry that about had my kindle smoking, heartbreak, laughter and tears. I loved Naomi and Axton are going to stay with me for a while. I hope this isn’t the last we get to read about them.
Rockstar Unbroken is the Amazing Conclusion to Shannon Shade’s Tragic Duet Series.
All the questions you have will have answers, some you will like some you might not but what I know is I loved every word from the very first page up until you see the words The End.
Axton, Naomi and even Hatch will pull at your heartstrings but you can’t help fall for each of them in their own way. You will feel the emotions for each of them fall off the pages but what you will find out is that you can overcome anything is you just believe it will happen
Rock Star, Unbroken by S. M. Shade is book 2 in the Tragic Duet. Book 2 brings an angsty and intense conclusion to Axton and Naomis journey.
The story picks up pretty much where book 1 left off and we are thrown straight back into the chaos that is Axton and Naomi.
There are a few twists and turns along the way to keep us guessing sand running the emotional gauntlet but it also wraps up nicely.
At last I got my greedy mitts on the concluding story of Axton and Naomi in this brilliant duet.If I could give it 10 stars I would.
This second book picks right up from the 1st one and gives all the answers to questions left hanging in the air. It had me gripped from start to finish with even more twists and turns that I did not see coming.
Naomi and Axton have so many secrets that threaten to destroy them but the one person who absolutely broke my heart was baby Caden. His soul shattering cries for Naomi was both heart wrenching and realistic. Axton realises that he has to put his feelings aside for baby Hatch and ask Naomi to come back. He is angry and spiteful and says some truly awful things to Naomi and keeps her at arms length.
Naomi is devastated and turns from a fiesty woman into a meek little flower to ensure that she stays in Caden’s life.
Her relationship with Dani gets back on track though and she settles into a routine that doesn’t include a relationship between herself and Axton, even though it is breaking her heart. But events unfold and truths come out and gradually Axton thaws towards her, but is it enough?
Shannon has seriously written an amazing story with characters and side characters that are just as brilliant and fantastic world building that draws you in and makes you imagine that you are there alongside them all.
My advice is READ IT!!
Oh my gosh! I did NOT see that coming! WTF! Such a fantastic read! Loved it!
Rock Star Interrupted might have left us holding our breath, but it is Rock Star Unbroken that will leave us breathless. As the storm of chaos, revelations, uncertainty and heartbreak rage around Axton and Naomi one thing will remain and it is the connection that keeps them intertwined. As a lump is lodged firmly in your throat as secrets are revealed, you will find your pulse racing and your heart beating out of your chest. This conclusion to the Tragic Duet made me cry, emotional, anxious, awed and at times overwhelmed. However it was the ending that left me exhilarated. If there was ever a rockstar that was going to steal my heart it was always going to be Axton.
