Connor Prescott doesn’t do one night stands (yes, ladies, he’s an anomaly) so when he meets a beautiful woman during a snowed in night at the airport who wants to forget her heartache, he makes an exception. Their night together is incendiary, and by morning Connor wants more . . . except his sexy stranger is gone. He’s pretty sure he’ll never see her again, until three and a half years later … she finds him, and changes his entire world with three little words . . . You’re a daddy.

Rock Solid is such a sweet, sexy second chance story.
Katie and Connor are stuck in a Denver airport on Valentine’s Day when their flights are cancelled. When he offers her the second room of his two bedroom hotel suite, he’s not trying to get her into bed. Of course he wouldn’t mind, but he’s not normally a one night stand kind of guy. He’s just trying to help out the woman who’s captured his interest with her sad eyes and beautiful face. That they end up having a hot night when she decides to let go and have some fun is inevitable. But, more than just a physical connection is forged that night and Connor is determined to get Katie to give him her number and last name even though their agreement had been no last names, just something sexy to make her forget how life had dealt her such a crap hand. But, she had snuck away before he woke up and all Connor’s left with are hot memories of the beautiful woman he let slip through his fingers. So imagine his surprise when he gets a voicemail with a sweet, soft spoken voice that his nerve endings remember from a night 3 and half years ago. She’s got a surprise for him and it’s one that will change his life, for the better!
Connor is the perfect BBF. He’s sweet, he’s not a manwhore, he’s even keel and not prone to OTT alphaholishness, and he is absolutely, hands down, the most adorable DILF of all time. I fell in love with him before Katie even admitted she remembered him. But Katie…gah, that woman! She made me want to smack her more than once. I get why she was hesitant and had trust issues, but honestly I thought she was a little ridiculous toward the end. She was so stuck in her pain and distrust, thanks to some truly douchey parents and exes, that she just couldn’t let down her walls even though Connor did absolutely every possible thing he could do to show her how much he loved her and how devoted he was to Val and her. Sigh…but Connor was just the man to scale those walls of hers and thank God, because if she had put him off once more I think I would have reached through my Kindle and strangled her!
Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde do sweet and sexy like no one else and Rock Solid is proof. 1-click today if you like your hot guys with huge hearts that are strong enough to scale one woman’s cracked heart and steel walls.
Conner is absolutely one of my favorite characters. How can you not adore a man who is unconditionally in love with his little girl within knowing of her existence? This is such a sweet family romance that your heart squeezes with tenderness and then leaves you breathless as the passion and love grows between Conner and Katie. A must read for all romantics.
I give Carly and Erika 4.5 stars for Rock Solid. They have given me more Connor and I was just waiting for him to find his person because everyone else around him found someone. When he meets Katie there is just an instant attraction and its not just her looks that catch his eye. Connor is attracted to her sensuality, beauty, body and how she opened up to him. When hewakes up in the morning to her gone after their great night he tries looking for her. Katie just wanted one night with Connor and she got it along with a little suprise. She looked for Connor a few months after their night but she couldn’t ever find him until she read an article 3 years later and found him. When they see each other again after so many years Katie can’t fight the attraction. She keeps up a wall and tries to establish boundaries based on her past. I think her past is BS to be honest and that is why .5 star is missing. I get her hang ups but she let it control her life too much and Connor was a saint to put up with it. Connor is a fighter and he loves hard all the while Katie was trying to keep a tight leash on her feelings. Erika and Carly gave us a story of two strangers who come together after 3 years to find out their night brought them something special. Its a great journey to follow as Connor fights for his family and to keep it rock solid.
I have read every book in the Book Boyfriend series and this one is by far my favorite! Connor the sexy, swoon-worthy hottie and Katie the sexy hot blonde, they shared one helluva steamy passionate night together that neither could forget. You definitely want to grab this book….you wont be able to put it down and it will have you wanting more!
This is a fast paced second chance romance and surprise pregnancy story. Connor and Katie are both from Chicago and meet at the airport in Denver; they are both there for different reasons. Katie was there to surprise her boyfriend for Valentine’s Day, only she was the one to be surprised when he was in his hotel room with another woman. Heartbroken, she returns to the airport to head home. She is stuck at the airport because of an impending blizzard. What else could go wrong?
Connor sees this beautiful but sad woman at his gate. He wonders what her story is. Katie also notices the gorgeous man at the gate. When Katie makes eye contact, they both feel that electric pulse of attraction. Katie decides to leave the charged atmosphere because the last thing she needs is a rebound.
Connor realizes he has to make arrangements at a hotel before they are all gone due to the blizzard. He gets the last two-bedroom suite, and why not, it’s on the company’s dime. As he is heading to his hotel connected to the airport, he notices the beautiful woman in a café and asks to join her. After they get to know each other, he offers the other bedroom in his suite and she reluctantly accepts.
Once settled in for the night, the attraction ramps up and Katie throws all caution to the wind. Why not enjoy the company of this handsome man? Connor goes against his no one night stand rule, and they have an amazing night of passion. Katie is scared because of the feelings she has for Connor in such a short time. Connor is smitten with Katie and he wants to explore what they have, only to be disappointed that she left during the night. No note, no phone number, and no last names. Only thing left were memories of an amazing night.
Fast forward 3 years and Katie reads an article about Connor in a local magazine. He is touted as a talented real estate developer and eligible Chicago bachelor. Katie wants to contact him to tell him that their incredible night in Denver conceived a beautiful little girl named Valentine (Val). How would he react? When Katie found out she was pregnant she wanted to find Connor, but she had nothing to go on until she saw the magazine article. She contacts Connor and sets up a meeting. That’s where I’m going to leave it! I will leave it up to the reader to enjoy the story of Katie, Connor and Val.
This book was sweet, sexy, funny and swoon worthy. Connor was amazing! Katie was sweet and was an amazing mom, however she had trust issues that go back to her childhood. Connor had to prove to Katie that he was a rock solid guy and could be a father and family man. I loved this story and I plan to go back and read the previous books in this series.
What an awesome book. I loved the story it has such emotions, passion, heartbreak, humor, caring, and love. Connor, Katie and Val will still your heart. Once I started the book I could not put it down. I received this book as a gift and I voluntarily give this review.
Loved this story. Full of romance, sexy scenes, great characters and a wonderful HEA. Hero to die for.
This is the best book in the boyfriend series. Not only is romantic and lovely but is a complete turn on. This one you won’t be able to put down until your done reading. I really love it. Thumbs up for Connor and Katie.
I received a free copy in exchange of my honest review.
Love this book!!
I really liked this book so I went back and read the others in the set

3.5 Stars
Connor and Katie meet while they are stranded at the airport due to weather, and they have what she decides is a one night stand (he had other ideas, but she was gone the next morning).
Fast forward 3 years, and Connor has a daughter.
I liked how this was handled, mostly. I thought that there were places where it was too easy, and that a lot of the conflict was ignored. Well, maybe not ignored as the potential issues in the situation were addressed, but I felt that they were glossed over.
I liked the relationship with Connor and Kylie and I liked that she didn’t make it difficult for him to see and be with his daughter…I actually liked that she tracked down Connor to make sure he knew about his daughter.
Overall, this was well written and I enjoyed it, there were just a couple of areas where I felt that there could have been more and that some of the story was a little too simple.
I do recommend this title.
ROCK SOLID is the fourth instalment in the contemporary, adult BOOK BOYFRIEND erotic, romance series co-authored by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde. This is real estate investor/developer Connor Prescott, and graphic designer Katie Kaswell’s story line. ROCK SOLID can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Connor and Katie) ROCK SOLID follows several romance tropes including secret baby, second chances, and a one-night stand between real estate developer Connor Prescott, and graphic designer Katie Kaswell. Approximately three and a half years earlier two strangers from Chicago found themselves stranded, on Valentine’s Day, during a snowstorm at the Denver airport terminal. A sex-filled night together resulted in Connor Prescott waking up alone with only Katie’s first name to tag to his memories of the night before. Fast forward to present day wherein Connor is now one of Chicago’s ‘hottest bachelors’, and Katie is about to turn his world upside down with the news he fathered a daughter who is about to celebrate her third birthday. What ensue is the rekindling romance and building relationship between Katie and Connor, and the potential fall out as Katie begins to distrust her judgement and her track record with the men in her life.
The relationship between Connor and Katie is slow to build as Katie struggles with her attraction to Connor, and the potential ramifications of introducing her daughter to the father she never knew. Three year old Valentine Kaswell, a precocious and beautiful young child is quick to accept Connor into her life, including the prospect of a happily ever after, together, for her mother and father. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.
There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including most of the previous story line couples: Wes Sinclair and Connor’s sister Natalie Prescott (Big Shot #1), Max Sterling and (Faking It #2), Kyle Coleman and Ella Fisher (Well Built #3). We are introduced to Katie’s best friend and neighbour Avery and her daughter Leah, as well as Connor’s mother Allison Prescott.
ROCK SOLID is a sweet story; a sexy and sultry rekindling romance of second chances and a happily ever after. The angst level is low ; the conflict comes from within as Katie battles the memories of her past, and her attraction to the man with whom she is falling in love. The premise is heart-warming and enjoyable; the romance is energetic and sensual; the characters are passionate and colorful.
I think I have found my favorite in the boyfriend series! Oh my god, Connor and Katie’s story was everything! I laughed and cried and smiled and swooned and laughed some more… It was utterly perfect, and Connor is clearly everything a book boyfriend should be. Add to that a surprise daddy-hood thrown into the mix with a cute as a button little girl and I was a goner. It’s strange, because I recall myself rolling my eyes whenever a story contained surprise babies / daughters / sons – and yet… this one got me hook, line and sinker.
ROCK SOLID has everything I love about romance: It’s all kinds of sweet, emotional and passionate with the right amount of angst, frustration (and, good grief, Katie’s stubbornness frustrated the hell out of me!) and heartbreak thrown into the mix. The kind of story you can devour in one sitting.
And Connor … It’s not often that the hero doesn’t make a sport of how many girls he can bed, that doesn’t give his dick as freely as a hug. No, Connor is all but a player, he is looking for the real deal, easy no-strings hook-ups just aren’t his thing. How rare is that in today’s romances? I mentioned that he is perfect already, right??
There is just this one slip Connor had, one woman he knew all of a couple of hours before he fulfilled her fantasy of sex with a stranger. That was three years ago, on a stormy day at the airport when all flights were canceled due to the weather. A night of unbridled passion wasn’t his intention at all, he just wanted to help out a beautiful woman he had shared an intriguing conversation with when he offered her the second bedroom of his suite. But then the night takes an unexpected out-of-character turn and imprints an everlasting memory into his mind.
With no personal information about them shared – not even their freaking last names –, Katie had no possibility of contacting him when she found out about the gift he left for her. It’s nothing but happenstance that she discovers him after so much time had passed and contacts him to personally tell him the three words that will alter his life forever: “You’re a daddy.”
And as blindsided as Connor was – he was all in from the start; and not only when it came to his daughter. He is caring, sweet, dependable, and had the patience of a saint, willing to do the right thing, no matter how much he himself hurt in the process. But he is not all sweet and cute either – true to the motto: a gentleman outside, but a savage beast inside the bedroom. Wicked, dirty-mouthed and plain alpha. Yum! (Isn’t he perfect??)
Katie has bad luck when it comes to choosing a man. Disappointed one time too many when it came to love in the past, she is unwilling to let another male into her and her daughter’s life – and their hearts. But her daughter is her everything, and it is her top priority to keep her safe and happy, and her daughter deserves to know her father. It pained me how much she differentiated between herself and her daughter, gradually bringing Connor into her daughter’s life while keeping him out of her own. My heart hurt – for both Connor and her.
A second chance, a surprise daddy and an all-around perfect hero. I can’t say how much I adored this book! Highly recommend – but I do claim Connor as MINE!
5 star review Rock Solid (Book Boyfriend #4) by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde
This was perhaps my favourite of the series. Knowing this was the last book, I really wanted to read this slowly. Who am I kidding? I devoured this book in one day.
Connor doesn’t do one night stands so when he meets an angry and sad Katie at an airport waiting for a flight home, the last thing he is thinking of is hooking up for the night. Katie, furious and hurt over the betrayal by her ex boyfriend isn’t really looking either, however fate has a surprise in store for these two.
After they both decide to act on the chemistry which is clearly between them, what follows is a night of intense passion. When Connor wakes, he is hopeful he can convince Katie to see him again. Imagine his dismay when he finds Katie is gone.
Since Connor doesn’t even know Katie’s last name he knows that all he has will be the memories.
Fast forward 3.5 years and Connor is thrilled when Katie suddenly reappears in his life. However, to say he is shell shocked to find out that their night of passion resulted in a beautiful little girl named Val is an understatement.
Connor is entranced by his daughter, realising that he is still drawn to Katie, he goes about wooing the women in his life.
I loved Connor Prescott, to me he is such a dream come true; Truthfully I want my very own Connor. I admired Katie and found her to be extremely likeable and Val was too adorable.
Rock Solid is such a heart warming, fun and totally hot read. As always the characters are strong and well written (Val is so cute she almost steals the book) and I will admit I was extremely sad when I finished the book.
Life takes an interesting turn when Connor Prescott and Katie Kaswell flights are delayed due to a snowstorm. Connor happened to get one of the very last hotel rooms available, which turned out to be a suite with 2 bedrooms. He offers to share with Katie. Katie is reeling from a ‘surprise’ from her boyfriend when she showed up unexpectantly for Valentine’s.
She would like nothing more than to forget and to feel desired. She wants a one night stand with Connor. A one night stand if something that Connor doesn’t want. He plans to change Katie’s mind but when he wakes up the next morning she’s gone.
Neither one of them knows the other’s last name. Both have never forgotten the other. Fate has Katie finding Connor four years later. She gives life changing news to Connor. I highly commend Katie for contacting Connor. She could of very easily never told him.
Connor has great integrity. He could of been very bitter about the situation and he stepped up accepted his new role in life and looked forward instead of backwards.
The feeling’s that Katie and Connor acted upon years ago has not diminished and the more time they spend together the strong they get.
Katie is very leery of taking their relationship to another level. She doesn’t have a great past when it comes to men and doesn’t want her daughter to experience what she lived through in her childhood with her own parents.
Katie has to determine if she’s brave enough to take a leap and have faith in Connor or step back and watch from the sidelines.
This is an wonderfully written book that pulls the reader in. I was left with a smile on my face at the end.
Wow, the amazing duo of Phillips and Wilde has written another brilliant series that makes me beg for just one more story. Just one more, ladies! But if the Book Boyfriends have to end, what better way to go out than with the delicious Connor Prescott!
No one ever wants to be stuck in an airport due to inclement weather. Especially on a holiday. So when Connor finds himself stranded in the Denver airport he decides to make the best of his situation. He never expected to be spending his night with a beautiful stranger who he feels an instant connection to. The beautiful girl with the sad eyes and a sorry excuse of an ex-boyfriend. His loss was certainly Connor’s gain, at least for Valentine’s Night. Katie Kaswell never expected a surprise trip to Denver would leave her not only brokenhearted but stranded at the airport. But a seriously sexy stranger may just be the cure for the blues. One night of sensual surrender — no last names and no strings attached. But much like Connor, Katie feels a connection so immediate and so strong that it scares her. The morning sun finds Connor alone and Katie running as far and as fast as she can from the beautiful stranger.
Fast forward three years and who would have guessed one night of nameless passion could change two people’s lives forever when one very special little girl named Valentine makes her way into Connor’s life?
This second chance romance with a side of the best surprise ever was a fun, heartwarming read. Of all the Book Boyfriends, Connor was the one that I was most eager to read about and know his story. He’s protective and a bit of a unicorn – he’s a one woman man. For three years he’s held onto one perfect evening. Nothing could quite hold a candle to one Valentine’s Night in Denver. Katie has had her fair share of heartbreaks, insecurities and loneliness. In her life she has had only two things that mean everything – her daughter and Connor. Their love story was rocky but worth the pain and gives you the hope that insta-love can happen and that a once in a lifetime chance can end so beautifully.
Another GREAT series! Bravo, Carly and Erika!
ARC for honest review with no compensation
Rock Solid is a standalone book by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde and when these two write a book it’s amazing, sexy and shows that fate always lends a helping hand when two people belong together no matter how long it takes.
Katie Kaswell came to Denver to surprise her boyfriend on Valentine’s Day only he wasn’t alone so she heads back to the airport to fly home and while waiting for her flight she sees Connor Prescott and thinks maybe she could have a one night stand with the sexy, handsome man but ends up deciding she just needs to get home.
Connor Prescott is going home to Chicago after being in Denver for a conference. He’s the type of man who doesn’t do one night stands. He liked being in a relationship not just sleeping around but all that is going to change when he sees Katie Kaswell. When they end of getting snow bound, they end up having dinner, talking and finding they do have a strong connection. Connor has a two bedroom suite he was able to get after the airport is shut down and offers Katie one of the rooms so she doesn’t have to sleep at the airport. One thing leads to another and Katie gets her one night stand and Connor is sure that she might be the one…but when he wakes the next morning Katie is gone but he doesn’t panic because she will be on the same flight home except unbeknownst to him she has changed her flight and airline so she doesn’t run into him. Only problem they didn’t exchange last names to he can’t contact her and vice versa until 3 years later…
When these two meet again Connor is in for a “big surprise” when Katie says “You are a Daddy”. Will these two find that the connection they made 3 years ago is still as strong as ever and can Connor prove to Katie and his daughter, Val (Valentine) that he is the type of man who is “Rock Solid” and will always be there for both of them no matter what???
I loved Rock Solid, another hit for co-authors Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde and book four in their Book Boyfriend series. They created an amazing hero in Connor Prescott, a man who understands how to treat women, especially Katie, a one-night stand who he could never forget and still wanted. When Connor reconnects with Katie Kaswell almost three years later he never expected the words “You’re a dady” from her. Connor had his work cut out to convince Katie to trust that he wouldn’t leave her like her former boyfriends or that all relationships were manipulative like her parents’ marriage.
I totally enjoyed reading this wonderful book and highly recommend this book to other readers. Carly and Erika are among my favorite authors and among the most talented writers in Romance Land. Combining their voices they created a strong story, with characters that not only have compassion and empathy but also depth. I truly cannot wait to see what to see what these two have lined up next as they continue this co-authorship.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
In this fourth book of the series you meet Connor and Katie who both end up snowed in at the airport. While there they end up sharing a room together and having a night to remember. Connor isn’t the kind of guy who does one night stands so when Katie is gone when he wakes up he does everything he can think of to find her. When three years have past she ends up finding him, but not for the reason he thinks, no she needs to tell him that a child was conceived during that one special night they had together. Follow along as they go through the trials of introducing a child to a parent she has never met not to mention grandparents. What a lovely and heart warming read, you can’t help but be drawn in by the characters and their journey. I loved how the author showed that love at first sight was possible and just because a few jerks may cross our paths that doesn’t make all other men bad.
Connor Prescott is stranded in Denver on Valentine’s day with a sad but sexy Katie Kaswell. After sharing a meal and a hot night of great sex, Katie is gone the next morning. No names, no phone numbers, no nothing. Until three years later..
Rock Solid was a sexy, fun, quick read. I love how Katie and Connor are brought together because of one night of passion…and one little girl! Val absolutely stole my heart and the way Connor stepped in, no questions asked, what a man!
