He’s a rock star with a secret, she’s a pop princess with a painful past – can their forbidden romance survive, or will their lies destroy them both? I’ve earned my bad reputation. A few years ago, I was New York City’s hottest classical music prodigy. But I wanted something else, something more. So I chased my real dream, and now… I’m rock royalty. Dax Hughes, lead guitarist of Nothing but … lead guitarist of Nothing but Trouble. But to my family and former Juilliard classmates, I’m an outcast. A misfit. A rebel.
They’re not entirely wrong. I don’t give a damn what other people think, and I’m all for breaking the rules… except when it comes to our new opening act, Verity Moore.
Rock gods don’t tour with pop princesses.
It’s not personal. Actually, under that fallen diva reputation, Verity’s incredibly talented. And her fiery redheaded personality is… intriguing. But I’m convinced the skeletons in Verity’s closet are as scandalous as my own, and when we’re not sparring, she has a way of drawing out all those secrets I’m determined to keep hidden.
Yeah. Verity Moore is definitely off-limits . . . But since when do I give a damn about the rules?

I’m not one that generally falls for rocker books but there’s been a few! Rock Rebel is a fantastic story! I seriously adored Verity Moore. She reminds me so much of myself as a teenager. I remember going hog wild with a bit of freedom. This is what happens for Verity. She’s been managed for years by her mom. Her mom has some short reigns on her. Now here we are, of age, and Verity is ready for a taste of freedom. She makes some mistake and has some good ol’ wild times. Now she’s on track… she’s getting her life back together… she’s ready to sign and have a manager that only manages her career, not her life.
Dax Hughes is fabulous! He’s totally a strong character. A child prodigy who’s the lead guitarist for a major band, Nothing But Trouble. Dax had his heart broken and so closed that part of himself off. He doesn’t love. He doesn’t trust. He doesn’t date women in the music industry. But… there’s Verity. Young and vibrant with insane chemistry. I fell head over heels watching Dax fall!
Tara Leigh shows us what it’s like to fall in love when you have closed yourself off… what it’s like to learn to trust and to open up again. Verity and Dax are like apples and cinnamon… fantastic and beautiful together but everything goes to another level when they combine. Leigh’s writing flows. It’s beautiful and warmed my heart. The steady build up of the story and the relationship. The sexual tension between these two was vibrant… was strong… real.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
Book 3 in the Nothing But Trouble Series but I do beleive you could read this as a stand-alone although I’m sure you will want to go back and read the previous books in this great rock series.
Verity Moore is a pop princess and Dax Hughes is a rock star with a secret, he is the lead guitarist with Nothing But Trouble and she is the new opening act for the tour they are about to embark on.
Rock gods don’t tour with pop princesses.
Verity may be a very talented pop star but she has fallen under the diva reputation and that means proving she is a worthy opening act, problem is there is an instant attraction between the fiery redhead and the swoon worthy rock god will either of them open up and spill the truth about their pasts and the secrets they are hiding……… guess you need to read the book to find that out.
I love all of the boys from Nothing But Trouble but Dax really chiseled away at my heart he tugged on every heart string as I read his story and what can I say about Verity apart from she is not what she seems underneath the pop princess is a sweet loveable woman who needs to be loved and who is perfect for Dax. The banter was witty and perfect ,the chemistry sizzling and together these two make great music . Tara Leigh has given us a beautifully written love story that captivated me and I’m sure if you give this book a chance you will fall in love with the rock gods of Nothing But Trouble.
Looking forward to more from this great series.
“Choose happy.”
Wow! I really enjoyed Dax & Verity’s story! Tara Leigh brings us the next installation in the Nothing But Trouble series. Rock Rebel can be read as a stand-alone. Rock God, (book #1) is Shane & Delaney’s story. Rock Legend, (book #2) is Landon & Piper’s story. Each story builds up in the Nothing But Trouble series.
“Watch me rebel.”
I must admit that when I started reading Rock Rebel I was a bit apprehensive with the subject matter and for some it may cause a trigger (no spoilers). With that being said I feel that Tara Leigh did an amazing job tackling a sensitive subject. Bringing out emotion, angst and heartache that accompanies this type of situation and yet it was a story, not a PSA or a finger pointing contest. I don’t know any other way to put it. There are so many other things associated with this topic (again, no spoilers).
“For so long, my voice had been silenced. But it had never disappeared.”
Verity Moore, disgraced pop princess, has a chance meeting with Dax Hughes. They are both attracted to each other and curiosity sets in. They find themselves connected in the music industry and as a result are thrown together.
“The man was a song I didn’t know the chorus to.”
Dax Hughes is cautious, sexy, and cocky. But he is also quiet and contemplative. Verity is a woman on a mission. She wants her life back. A reset. But overcoming her past is her biggest challenge.
“Verity Moore. Crossover artist and disgraced pop princess – one who didn’t apparently take herself too seriously.”
Dax and Verity’s story was beautifully written with just the right amount of everything – angst, emotion, sadness, and twists. Verity’s back story left me haunted. Her honesty, the emotional undertones and the sad recaps of her career – the “feels” were on every page! I love how Dax handled certain situations.
“Tell me something true.”
The story flows at just the right pace. There are many ups and downs and a twist or two that I never saw coming! The love that grows between Dax and Verity is so beautiful and believable. The honesty they share is touching. They have a connection, a push and pull that is palpable. An intimacy that is so hot and sexy! The pages were burning up as they came together intimately.
Tara Leigh’s Nothing But Trouble series gets better with each story! Rock Rebel was everything and more! The buildup was steady and the emotions real. Dax was so amazing! And Verity may be my favorite female in the series. She was broken but overcame to become strong and resilient. We are also treated to appearances by Shane, Delaney, Piper and more! I think Jett will be next! Can’t wait to see who can tame this wild boy!
“Anything was possible. Everything was possible.”
5 stars!

I loved when I realized this story ran almost parallel to Landon’s and Piper’s story! Loved reading about Verity getting close to Piper and Delaney, and about the little firefly in Piper’s belly. This was another story about Hollywood child stars who were forced to perform by selfish and over-ambitious parents. In fulfilling her dreams through her daughter, Verity’s mother turned a blind eye to the horrors her daughter was subjected to. Every story is as stunning as horrendous and I liked very much how this author handled this delicate theme.
Both Dax and Verity had dark pasts. Dax fled from his classical music upbringing, fleeing to California after a woman who broke him. Verity was a pop princess who lost her fame and her reputation when her show was cancelled and she went wild. Now she wants to repair her past and start over, pursuing her passion, which was music, not acting, as her mother enforced. Since she was signed in with Travis, the same agent as the band Nothing But Trouble, it was inevitable she would get into trouble with the broody and swoony Dax.
Dax was very intriguing, intense, a musical prodigy, but also aloof, a man of few words. In the beginning, he was not accepting Verity’s involvement with the band but as he got to know her, he realized she was so much more than a disgraced pop princess. There was a lot of sadness and insecurity inside Verity. It was her indomitable will to succeed in her singing that had her growing up and facing her shortcomings.
There was always something about Dax that held him back from getting involved with Verity. He was prejudiced about getting involved with someone in the industry, and it hints at something destructive in his past. As Verity and Dax get close in spite of their misgivings, we get to enjoy a couple who are perfect for each other. They fill up the holes in each other souls, they see inside of each other into their wants and needs, and when they’re together, it feels like home.
I loved this story and loved meeting with old friends. The plot twist at the end was crazy surprising and the resolution of the #metoo situation was very satisfactory. Very entertaining, great characters, heartfelt, deep and significant dialogues and a very brave handling of an actual and very important issue.
What happens when the paths of bad boy Rockstar Dax and disgraced Pop princess Verity collìde? They’re not supposed to feel this intense attraction brewing between them. Both are hiding skeletons in the closet and don’t want o stop running. They don’t know their stories are intertwined by fate itself. So fire burns. Lightning strikes. Secrets come out. And we get a story full of drama, emotions, passion and ultimately celebration of life.
Tara Leigh is a genious when it comes to plotting an insane story line and amazing characters. We have the handsome devil rockstar & Classical music genius who have never recovered from the harsh lessons of his pre-Band life. But Verity is threatening to bring all his walls down and make him feel everything he doesn’t want to feel. And Verity is an incredible woman. Life has dealt her a shitty hand. She has so many labels. The demons lurking in the darkness behind the camera flashes and glamour of Hollywood have hurt her so badly. Yet she is an epitome of inner strength , beauty and extraordinary talent. This couple is truly a memorable one.
Tara Leigh carefully and expertly build the story bit by bit. She never rushed it. I was enthralled. I enjoyed and savoured every bitter truth, every sweet swoony moment and every scorching hot sex scenes to the fullest. The sexual interactions were not only physical acts. They were exchanging their souls. The scenes are not there just for making it erotic. They are very much part of the experience. Undoubtedly some of the best sex scenes I have ever read.
Rock Rebel is absolutely breathtaking and pure magic. This is beyond rock stars and pop princess. This was truly inspiring resurrection story of two shattered souls.

5 Star Review of Rock Rebel (Nothing But Trouble #3) by Tara Leigh
This was my first book by Tara Leigh and I have no idea why that is and I found myself totally invested in Dax and Verity’s story.
Dax Hughes is the lead guitarist of Nothing But Trouble (love the name), a bad boy rock star who once upon a time in a previous life was a classical music prodigy. Turning his back on the music of his past, he is doesn’t care what his family or others think, until he meets Verity Moore.
Verity Moore is trying to make a comeback after a failed TV show and wants to do what she has always longed to do and that is to sing. The last thing she needs is to become involved with Dax. Both Verity and Dax have secrets which are best left alone. However these two are drawn to each other, through their love of music, even knowing that they should not be. What will happen when their passion ignites?
Dax and Verity have pasts that will impact heavily on their current situation. Verity’s issues in particular may trigger reactions in some readers, so please be prepared. Tara Leigh handles these issues with care and compassion and I with impressed with how she wrote this story line.
I really loved the chemistry between Dax and Verity and it was great to see their relationship move forward as they embarked on tour. Rock Rebel shows Verity that she is stronger than she knows she is and with Dax’s support she can be strong and successful.
I liked that these characters were so realistic, they were easy to relate to and I so wanted both Dax and Verity to get their happily ever after.
I enjoyed this book so much that when time permits I will go back and read the previous books in the series.
I don’t read a lot of rock star romances. Most of them don’t interest me. But I’m so glad I read this one! This was a beautiful encompassing love story between two broken people. It tugged at my heart strings. It took me on a wild roller coaster wild! I loved it!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
Not just a rock star romance, Rock Rebel is so much more. You think, feel and live the words on the page. Dax Hughes, a veritable rock god and Verity Moore, a ‘disgraced’ pop princess have a lot in common, including sharing a mentally lustful meeting in an elevator. She is a singer/actress whose career as the star of The Show all but imploded after rumors of impropriety on the set surfaced in the tabloids. She is in New York hoping to reinvigorate her career, this time as a singer and not an actress. Dax Hughes is the guitarist for the world famous band, Nothing But Trouble. He is in New York to see a performance of Classic Hughes, his family’s classical ensemble he left to pursue the woman he loved and wanted to marry. That pursuit was a dead end, leaving him with nothing but heartache and he finally gave up. Verity’s future looks bright, now that she signed a contract as a solo artist. Her manager, Travis, is lining up a six month world tour and, much to the chagrin of the band, he’s signing Verity to be their opening act. Dax is far from pleased because he’s beginning to look at her with more than a little interest and he can’t have distractions on tour. Too late! They’ve been stealing glances at one another and it’s not too long before the fireworks begin! How can they become involved with each other when they are touring together and the music is the only thing that matters. What they should do with their feelings is far removed from what they both want to do. Explosive, sweet and caring describes their growing bond and they realize that this could become something more. There are secrets that come to light and threaten to stop their love right in its tracks. Tara Leigh has created a book rich with emotional and fitting story lines that bring back the rest of the band. Remarkable!
I really love this book. Even though I haven’t read the previous part I didn’t think that I missed something. All the characters are introduced properly.
Verity is a lovely girl. She is strong and I really respect her. She had a s*itty past and she overcame it and became stronger in spite of the awful things that happened to her.
Dax is also an amazing man. He was burned in the past too. That is why his heart was so guarded and protective. He didn’t want to promise her things that he couldn’t have delivered. I think that was very considerate of him. He has a really amazing personality.
The book is intense and I even cried at times, because it made me really connected with characters and their feelings.
You have to read this book.
I received a copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
4.5 Rebel Stars!
Wow, this third installment in the Nothing But Trouble series is a gripping romance filled with secrets, scandals and passion! Verity Moore has made too many wrong decisions, never taking the easy path. She is determined to leave her Disgraced Pop Princess image behind and build a singing career she can be proud of. Dax Hughes is a classically trained musician who found a new passion as lead guitarist for Nothing but Trouble. The band became his family, but he still held secrets and guilt from his past. Nothing But Trouble’s Manager, Travis, now represents Verity and she soon is slated to open for them on tour. Verity and Dax have instant chemistry and their passion for music connects them intrinsically. But they fight their attraction, hoping to not repeat past mistakes. Verity is strong and resilient, making Dax feel more alive. Dax is so kind and thoughtful wanting to ease Verity’s burdens. I loved both Verity and Dax, because neither are perfect, but they are perfect for each other. I love Ms. Leigh’s writing and how she covered sensitive and current issues with honesty and empathy. The ending brought me to tears and I totally loved it. This is a beautiful story that is heartrending, complex, and very sexy. I really fell hard for the men from Nothing But Trouble, and the strong women who love them, and can’t wait for more!
Rock Rebel by Tara Leigh is a rock star contemporary romance. But it’s NOT just another rock star romance. Let me start by saying, I’m old. Rock star romances aren’t the first thing I grab to read. This book is also written in first person, alternating point of view format, my least favorite. That being said, I have to be honest, Ms. Leigh makes it work. Rock Rebel is a well-written book with an outstanding cast of characters. Dax is a star rocker. Verity is a child star done wrong has been, looking for a music career comeback. Dax and Verity’s story is loaded with drama, humor, sizzle and the angst is kept at a level that adds to the story instead of overdosing readers so they want to gag. I enjoyed reading Rock Rebel and would happily read more from Tara Leigh in the future. Rock Rebel is book 2 in the Nothing But Trouble Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete story, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Holy Crap!!! Once again Author Tara Leigh has “ROCKED” my mind! Rock Rebel, book 3 in the Nothing But Trouble series, starts off fantastic and packed with heat, and doesn’t.ever.stop! From the very beginning scene in the elevator with Verity and Dax and throughout the whole storyline, you will be hooked!!!
I have really, really enjoyed this series and I believe this book might just be my favorite! I loved the instant attraction and banter, the conflict, the love, the angst, the (HOT) sex scenes, humor, all the characters (in this whole series)…I may have yelled at a character or two out loud while I was reading…HAHA…just LOVED all of it!!! Ms. Leigh has an amazing talent with her words! There are so many quotes and phrases I read over again because I felt them so hard.
“Christ, Verity. There’s nothing about you that doesn’t work for me. Nothing.”
“I thought I was in love once, years ago.
I was a moron.
What I felt then was nothing compared to now.
Verity was the real deal.
She was True.”
AAAHHHHHH!!!! YESSSSS!!!!
When Verity, an actress-turned singer, meets up with Travis (Dax’s manager) she is hoping for a fresh start. Trying to overcome her past evils, including her mother who used to be her manager, and her other nightmares behind her, she signs on to open for Nothing But Trouble. Dax, the hot as hell guitarist for NBT is hoping he can get past any feelings he has for her, because of his disastrous relationship from his past as well. They are both keeping secrets buried, but that never seems to work! The song Dax wrote for Verity (Bombshell Rebel) and the #MeToo movement included in this story are perfect!
I HIGHLY recommend this book! It is A-FREAKING-MAZING!!!!
***SPOILER ALERT***
***DON’T READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU DON’T WANT TO SKIP TO THE STORY’S ENDING***
***LAST CHANCE***
I have to say, of all the proposals I have read…this one is easily one of my favorites!!! The way it happens, the humor involved, the way the whole thing was written…I JUST LOVED IT!!!!
This is a story of a bad boy rock star and a woman who was stronger than she thought.
Dax is the bad boy rock star who left his classical music behind in New York while chasing the woman he thought he loved to LA. That is when he became the guitarist for the rock band Nothing But Trouble. It just so happened that the woman he wanted didn’t want him. After this relationship he wanted nothing serious to do with anyone because his heart had been broken beyond repair. Dax put everything into his band and they made it to the top of their game.
Verity was the child star that lived under her momanger and now was ready to break away and try her shot at music which is what she loved to do. The problem was she was still dealing with everything that happened to her while working under her mother. Her mother pushed her to do whatever it took to get the parts which lead her to fame and fortune on a TV show. Now her new career is beginning to take off. Personally, Dax is sending mixed messages to Verity but when she stumbles onto one of his songs things only heat up more for these two.
I love the chemistry between Dax and Verity and with them both heading out on tour things were only going to get better. Verity was also ready to embark on another life changing moment in her life. This is a story of a bad boy rock star and a woman who was stronger than she thought.
Rock Rebel made me so happy. I’m in love with Dax, he’s such a good guy. He and Verity are so great together. Dax is a member of the popular Nothing but Trouble band, Verity is a disgraced pop princess. They are attracted to each other but their past makes them shy away. The supporting characters are an awesome bunch of friends, they give so much support. There is just enough angst to make the story more interesting.
Review copy was received for a honest opinion.
Well… I wish I had the words to explain how much I loved Rock Rebel… I am seriously obsessed with Dax and Verity…
This book runs somewhat concurrently with Rock Legend… So, you get a little of Piper in it…
Verity Moore, ‘disgraced teen pop star’… This chic has had a raw deal at every turn, in my opinion… A mother that does not deserve the title. A producer with no morals. An ex-boyfriend who was just plain despicable… She picks herself up by the high heels and does an impromptu performance at one of Travis’ house parties… Nothing but Trouble was there as well… Travis takes her on as his newest client and you know, since you have probably read Rock Legend, she is joining the NBT tour…
Dax… Dax… Dax… LOVE this guy… He was burned and burned bad by his ex. He has allowed her to affect his life in SO many ways… But… he feels such a pull to Verity. One he continually runs from…
This book hit me all in the feels. I laughed. I cried. I hurt for both of them, but Verity specifically. I love them… Tara Leigh has such a talent to make you FEEL what her characters feel. Her words are magic…
I highly recommend this series, start at Rock King and then Legend then Rebel… I am eagerly awaiting Jett’s book! Read this…

Note: While this book is awesome, it does focus on the #metoo movement, so recognize there might be some triggers. It is done very effectively and it is not brutally in your face but there is some abuse of power and implied rape.
Tara Leigh
I knew Dax was going to make me cry! He is the perfect blend of hard, soft, and broody all rolled into one. I found both Verity and Dax needed each other. Even though their stories couldn’t be any different together they were able to support one another. I hate that there is even a reason for Verity’s story to be believable. Her emotions so real and moving. I loved Dax, I couldn’t wait for his story. I knew once he let Verity in, he would be wide open! Loved loved loved it!
