This has been one of my favorite series. I have loved every book Michelle has written about the Black Falcons. Although I am a hard core Riff girl, I almost love Tyke as much as I love him.
Tyke Douglas’s story is so much different than the rest of the boys. He has struggled with the changes the other bandmates have gone through. They are not the party animals they use to be. They have settled down. Tyke feels like they have lost their commitment to the Black Falcons. Tyke has some addiction problems that cause a lot of problems. The boys tell him treatment or leave the band. Since the band means everything to him, he agrees to treatment.
While he is there he meets a counselor named Frannie Mead. She is a recovery sex addict who has turned her life around after the horrible death of her twin sister. She has started a new life and now has the job of her dreams. Now if she could just stay away from Tyke who happens to look just like her favorite type of men.
“Tyke Douglas is just as freaking sexy in person as he is in the damn pictures. This is so not good.”
I really enjoyed the use of music throughout this story. Not just because a lot of the songs used were personal favorites of mine. It was because it brought so much to the scenes they were used it. Tyke using the songs he wrote in his journal to let Frannie know what was going on with him was genius.
“I make my way to the small desk across the room and pull a pick from my pocket and write “Miss You” on the back of it. I place it on the desk, along with a piece of notebook paper with a single song title on it: “What If I Was Nothing by All That Remains. My hope is that, no matter what she’s pissed about, she’ll forgive me and understand that I’m not going anywhere.”
Tyke and Frannie’s story is an excellent addition to the Black Falcon series. They were so perfect for each other. I don’t think Michelle could of came up with a better pairing. I loved watching them work through their addictions and learn to trust each other.
Now let’s talk about that epilogue. That AMAZING epilogue. The one that really made the whole series come full circle. If you don’t get what I mean by that feel free to message me to find out why after you have read the book. I will not spoil it for you so don’t ask. It was so beautiful I was crying at 2AM. Michelle ended this series in a way that made it so perfect it made me forgive her for putting Riff and the word “minivan” in the same sentence. Talk about throwing cold water on my hot fantasy! hahaha
I am so sad to see this series end. I have loved these boys for so long it feels like I am saying good bye to family. These books will be ones I will revisit often. I love you Michelle. I love your Black Falcon boys. This was a perfect ending to a perfect series.
WOW WOW!
I absolutely loved this book. it had me captured from the first word! I laughed and cried during this one. A sweet and HOT romance between two people who had rough times and don’t feel worthy although they are. Love Tyke and Frannie. It may even be my favourite from all four books and that says a lot if you know Noel is a fave of mine 🙂
