In this emotional and “gripping rock-star romance that hits all the right notes” (USA Today Happy Ever After), a damaged bad boy fights for a second chance with the love of his life. I’m no Prince Charming. Most people know me as the drummer for Nothing but Trouble. Depending who you ask, I’m also a playboy, a loner, the life of the party, a screw-up, or according to my fans, “The Sexiest Rock … according to my fans, “The Sexiest Rock Star on the Planet.” Apparently, I’m a legend.
Am I surprised? Hell, no. It’s a reputation I’ve earned behind my drum kit and behind closed doors. No one thought foster kid Landon Cox would become famous. Infamous, maybe. Notorious, probably. But successful? Never. No one except Piper Hastings. But I had to make a choice: my woman or my career. I picked fame and fortune… and spent every damn day since pretending I don’t regret it.
Now fate’s dropped Piper back into my life. I want to believe it’s a second chance for me – for us. But while I can give her a few great nights, I can’t give Piper a future.
Because there’s a difference between a legend and a fairy tale… Only one of them ends happily ever after.
“You will love this drama filled emotional read that is full of heated exchanges and heart-pounding romance.” –Fresh Fiction on Rock King

Rock Legend is a fantastic second-chance love story of Landon Cox, Nothing But Trouble’s man-whore drummer, and Piper, an employee of NBT’s Boss. Again…Tara Leigh has amazed me!!! I LOVE Tara’s writing style! I love the way this book flows and the characters! Ms. Leigh does such a wonderful job with this Rock Star book!!! This book will make you laugh, cry, feel heartbreak and love…and once again, Tara has written some quite wonderfully ‘steamy’ scenes into Rock Legend!
After getting ‘screwed’ by Andy, Piper’s love of her life…she decided to take her future and love life into her own hands. Landon makes some bad decisions and ends up in the hospital…leaving his future as a drummer in question.
Landon has to deal with demons of his past, and Piper has to with deal with unplanned events in her life as well. Can they take their second-chance and run with it…or will they not be able to work through it and have to part ways?
This could be read without reading Rock King, Book 1 in the Nothing But Trouble series, but it is that much better if you read book 1 first! I am looking to forward to the next story in the series! Verity and Dax’s story!
Review Rock Legend is the second book in the Nothing But Trouble series but can be read as a stand-alone. This is Landon and Piper’s story. Landon is the sexy drummer and Piper is the girl he left behind six years ago with no explanation. I really enjoyed this second chance romance, it was both sweet and sexy. I look forward to the next book in this series.
Review copy was received for an honest opinion.
I am trying to come up with the right words to describe how phenomenal this story is. This second book in the series is about the drummer, Landon and Piper, the right hand woman behind the bands agent. These two have a past. One that was so good, until it wasn’t. Landon made a choice years ago, and whether right or wrong, he has to own up to that choice. Years later, Piper, even though trying to avoid him, they meet up and their chemistry is just as sizzling as before. But is that all they are? Just lust without love? This story takes you on their journey and it is one that I will never forget.
As I read, I couldn’t help but fall in love with these two. They are both complicated, strong minded individuals who I knew in the very depth of my soul, belonged together. The emotions I had going thru me as I read, were unreal. I devoured this book. The heck with going to sleep before finishing! I had to know where they would end up. If you want to read a rockstar story that will pull at your heart, then please read this incredible story.
Loved Landon and Piper’s story.
This story has everythiing, hot rock stars, characters that chemistry draw you into immediately.
Once again ther talented author Tara Leigh has written a must read and possibly read more than once beautiful story
I love second chances, drummers, and not so perfect people. Rock Legend is a stand alone however you do meet them in Rock King so getting to know them and their story is great. There are a few twist that you don’t see coming. One carries a lot of guilt the other hasn’t ever felt really loved. It is a sweet and sexy story.
Get ready for the second book in the Nothing But Trouble series to blow you away!
I loved Landon Cox. He was cocky, sexy and a little bit broken. He is the drummer in the mega popular band Nothing But Trouble. Fame and fortune has given Landon everything he could ever want…except the one thing he left behind.
Piper Hastings was never enough. For her father or for Landon. Piper and Landon met in college and fell hard and fast for one another. For two months they were inseparable. Happy. Then one day, he just disappeared. Six years have passed and she is the assistant to Travis, the manager for Nothing But Trouble. She has watched in the shadows as Landon took everything he wanted. Booze, drugs, women. And she has been successful in her avoidance of him, until now.
When Landon got the deal of a lifetime he chose money and fame over love. Can he prove to Piper he is worthy of her love again the second time around? Or will she decide that their love was in the past.
This book rocked me. I fell in love with these complex characters. The struggles that they both had gone through to fight their way back to their happily-ever-after was gut wrenching. Addiction is a powerful thing, but so is the love and support of your soulmate.
Rock Legend is book two in the Nothing But Trouble series, I didn’t quite connect with the characters in Rock King, but I was still very much invested in this series. Once I learned that Landon and Piper’s story was one of a second-chance romance, I was totally in and couldn’t wait to get my hands on this! I loved every bit of this story, they had a lot to work through and it was still painful to bring all of that back. But it was all worth it!
I was completely engaged with their story from the very beginning, the one thing I love about second chances is going back into the past to see what happened. And then the whole journey to get back to hopefully where they used to be. It took some time for me to come around to Landon, but I knew there was more to his story. And it sure is a painful one, he didn’t have an easy past, but he did what he could to make it better. However he has some unfavorable tendencies, he’ll grow on you rather quickly.
Rock Legend turned out to be a much more emotional read than I was anticipating, but I really didn’t mind it at all. I love emotional romances, let me tell you, I’m all about those feels! I simply devoured this book and Leigh does such an amazing job keeping you hooked on her words.
Bring on Rock Rebel!
Major thanks to Forever Romance and Tara Leigh for the advanced reader’s copy!

Landon and Piper’s story is a rollar coaster ride of emotions and I loved it!!! Landon’s childhood is cruel and heartbreaking he has to fight to overcome it.Piper grows up in a loveless family. They meet when they were young and he breaks her heart. When the meet again as adults they both have a lot of questions and baggage that they have to get past to be together.I Loved this Book can’t wait for more!
I loved Landon and Piper! I wanted their story after reading Shane’s! I loved that broken relationships were mended, and not just theirs. I felt their angst and the obstacles they had to overcome felt real. I teared up when Landon finally took responsibility for his actions!
WOW~ Where has Tara Leigh been my entire life… I started Rock King last night and finished Rock Legend on my lunch break today… Who needs sleep… ha~
LOVED this story! This is Landon’s tale…
Remember Piper, the perfect mean girl that Delaney grew up with? Well… She is not so perfect and 1000% lovable…
This is the story of how legends meet a fairy tale to get their happily ever after…
Landon met a girl 6 years ago. A college freshmen he fell all in on… Then his manager takes them off as a band, unplugged from everything and he never sees or speaks to her again.
Piper is an employee for Travis, the agent that handles the Nothing But Trouble band…. She has had her heartbroken more than once as this story starts…
Get ready for a wild ride that involves sex, love, rock and roll mixed in with stupid injuries, and addiction. I absolutely loved this story and CANNOT wait for Rock Rebel which is Dax and Verity’s story coming out in Dec.
Love Love loved this!
Read it! You will love it too!

Rock Legend is the second book in the Nothing But Trouble series and can be read as a standalone. After reading the first book in the series I was a little hesitant to request an arc of Rock Legend. Don’t ask my why because honestly I haven’t the slightest clue. I’m happy to have had the chance to read Rock Legend by Tara Leigh, Landon is by far my favorite character in the rock band Nothing But Trouble!
About Rock Legend:
This novel deals with some tough subjects. Landon was born into an abusive household. He was neglected and physically abused nearly his whole childhood. That is why the man has such a negative opinion of himself and his self worth. Landon is the drummer for Nothing But Trouble.
Piper’s always tried to reach a level of perfection that would prove to her father that she is worthy of his love. She’s always went out of her way to be better than all and succeed just to get a glimpse of notice from him. But he never acknowledged her. Now Piper has a misguided notion of what parenting and love is all about causing her to see the world in a negative light. But all the work through the years didn’t go unnoticed, now Piper is at the top of her field working with the hottest rock bands on the planet. When a blast from the past in the form of Rock Legend Landon Cox comes back into her life, she has to decide if she’s willing to give him another chance after he abruptly disappeared years ago without a word.
My thoughts:
First off let me start by saying, Tara Leigh completely blew me away with Rock Legend. I went into this novel expecting to like it, but damn, I didn’t think I’d get so swept away in this story line. I freaking loved it. One thing I loved about this novel was the instant chemistry between Landon and Piper. I’m a sucker for second chance romances, if done right. Let me be the first to say, I was rooting for these two from the very beginning.
Landon is the typically egotistical rock star who thinks he’s god’s gift to women. To put it plain and simple, he’s a manwhore. As I dove deeper into this novel and caught glimpses of the man Landon truly is, I realized his manwhore vibe is a shield protecting the boy from his childhood. I felt complete devastation for Landon. One thing I love about romance novels such as Rock Legend is being able to uncover the bad boy and seeing the true man that lies beneath the shield and Landon’s truth is something that shouldn’t be missed.
Piper is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to Landon. She’s someone who isn’t typical to Landon, he’s used to woman falling in his bed and not having to work for it. Not with Piper, Piper was burned by Landon once and she’s not about to let that happen again. I loved Piper and the way she didn’t put up with Landon’s shit. She is the perfect antidote to his womanizing ways.
Overall, Rock Legend was loads of fun! I’m so happy I took a chance on this novel and this series! I cannot wait for Dax’s story! I need more Nothing But Trouble!
When you read a great first book in a series, you wonder if the sequel will be better or worse. Well, in this case, the second book was just as good as the first one! Great story, great pace and great characters!
The magic of this story is that both characters had met in college and had a strong attraction; for two months they were inseparable. Then Landon Cox had to make a choice: his music or his girl. He needed money, so he chose the music. Six years later, Landon is a manwhore, immersed in a world of drugs and booze and groupies, but he’s lonely in a world of partying. There’s not a day that he doesn’t remember the girl he lost.
Piper has been working for Travis Taggert for three years. Travis is the agent of the Nothing But Trouble band, but she has managed to keep away from Landon for all those years. Even the previous year, when she had been working with Delaney in mitigating Shane’s scandal, she had kept away because she was working exclusively with Delaney. Until one day Delaney decides to give Shane a surprise visit, and Piper takes her to the venue and has a surprise encounter with Landon.
Their chemistry is as hot and electrifying as always, they still feel for each other and succumbed to their attraction. However, Piper is ambitious in her job and cannot socialize with a client. Yet, Landon succeeds in being assigned to Piper’s care. This couple has such strong feelings for each other, and so many obstacles to surpass. Piper is still hurt by Landon’s sudden abandonment without an excuse, and she’s still hurting from her current boyfriend’s cheating. Landon is broken, in the sense that he had a family he lost. They have a lot of comings and goings, a lot of passion and caring is expressed, but the story feels like a star-crossed lovers, where they can’t get a break. There’s a lot of heartbreak and misunderstandings, separations and searching for themselves. The environment they live in is an obstacle, but their friends are a huge support system.
I like the characters that this author portrays. They are broken but strong. Piper comes from a stable home but is unloved by her father, so she has learned to look perfect, make everyone believe she’s fine even though she’s breaking inside. She’s driven and kind. Landon comes from crack addicted parents, suffered abuse, and lost his adopted family through his own actions. He has a strong sense of guilt and of being “nothing but trouble” to any woman. Yet, he volunteers at a dog shelter unanimously and is generous. In spite of their differences, their hearts want each other and they make their way.
Very riveting and fascinating, this story is as addictive as Rock King, very heartfelt, a real page-turner. The pace and the story never lagged!
This is a terrific second book in a great rocker series. Love those bad boys of Nothing but Trouble! Sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll are themes in the story but at its heart is a beautiful second chance at love. Fantastic writing propels this story about drummer Landon and his struggles with his past and fame which are tragic, heartbreaking and very realistic. His career came before Piper in the past but will she forgive him? That’s a huge ask with all the hurt she went through. These two are wonderful together as they work to get beyond the pain and heartbreak of addiction and former grievances. So emotional, heart wrenching and ultimately triumphant. Worth the read. 4.5 stars
Landon is the drummer for the Nothing But Trouble band. Piper is a public relations specialist. The couple were together during college. Landon made the choice to leave Piper for the band. Six years later, they meet up and sparks fly with old hurts coming to the surface. This book had all the feels such as heartbreak, sadness, joy and some shocking revelations. A great read, I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.
If I thought I had liked Rock King, I honestly had no clue how much I would love Rock Legend. But man did I!
If there’s one thing I really love about second chance romances, it’s all the angst they give me. I live for it. And this book had it so good!! Landon and Piper had met in college and dated for 2 blissful months until the moment he had to make a decision about his future in Nothing But Trouble. He made a decision based on his guilt over something that happened in his past and he has regretted it ever since. Leaving his Pippa was the second thing he regretted most in life.
He no longer was the young men she used to know, he was a rockstar, a legend who lost himself in alcohol, drugs, women and playing his drums.
Piper worked in the same industry as Landon but up until this moment had managed to stay away from him. But with Delaney wanting to surprise Shane, she had to go with her and do her job. She knew this time she wouldn’t be so lucky not to cross paths with Landon but she wasn’t expecting the night to end up like it did.
That night Landon comes face to face with a blast from the past. It came as a shock to see Piper in his dressing room but he wasn’t about to waste the opportunity to be with the love of his life again. Even though she pretended not to want anything to do with him and fought him off, Landon was not giving up on her. This was his second chance and he was not about to leave her again.
I honestly did not like either of these characters very much in Rock King. I had been very on the fence about Piper, and Landon seemed like a douche most of the time. But this book totally changed my view on them. Both of them kept up a facade to the world but there was so much more to these two and I loved getting to know the real person behind their masks. And together… they were fire and ice, and I both loved and loathed the way they were with each other; either they were fire and super cute or they were ice and I wanted to slap either one or both of them, there was no in between.
Not only did I love Rock Legend more than I did Rock King, I feel like the writing was also better and I really loved it. It was lyrical, soulful and just beautiful. I loved everything about this book and these two. I wanted more.
Can’t wait for what’s next in the series. The little snippets we got of Dax and Verity had me dying for more. I can already tell I’m gonna love it. Enemies to lovers, hmm yes please! Can’t wait for Fall!
If you read Rock King, then you knew you were in for a really good book with Rock Legend. But I didn’t expect that Tara writing would bring tears to my eyes. Landon and Piper were together only for a couple of month’s six years ago before Landon just disappeared on Piper. Piper has spent the last few years trying to avoid Landon as much as possible. The hard part of that is she works for Nothing but Trouble manager and Landon is the drummer for Nothing but Trouble. So what will happen when Piper is told to babysit Landon?
Rock Legend is the perfect example of why I love second chance romances, the angst, the amazing sexy moments and all the emotions. This book will break your heart; glue it back together and just when you think it is together – BOOM! – It’s broken again in the most painful way. At this point, you throw the book at the wall because you think there is no way an HEA is coming. But don’t worried there is an HEA just might be a bump along the way.
Tara, you made me fall in love with Rock King, broke my heart with Rock Legend. I am afraid to see what you do to me with Rock Rebel.
What is better than a book that contains a second chance, hot steamy romance, and hot rockers. All this and more from Tara Leigh in her second Nothing But Trouble book, Rock Legend.
Piper and Landon reconnect after years. Landon is focused on his career and will let nothing get in his way and Piper means too much him to give Piper a hope for the future. Piper needs forever. A five star read and highly recommend it!
This is my first Tara Leigh book, and I have to say, I really enjoyed it. I loved that both Landon and Piper felt like real people who had real problems and made plenty of mistakes while trying to overcome them. I liked the side characters and how the world the author created came to life like a movie screen. Seeing both Landon and Piper grow and develop was fun, and I really liked how everything turned out. This is definitely a series I’d be interesting in reading more of.
What a poignant, and steamy, second chance romance! Piper and Landon fell in love in college when Landon was a struggling musician. Landon disappeared one night without an explanation, leaving Piper heartbroken. Now years later they are thrown back into each other’s orbit and are given a second chance. They realize their attraction is stronger than ever and their chemistry is still explosive. Landon has lived with deep regret for choosing music over Piper and jumps at his chance to make things right with the only woman he’s ever loved. Piper doesn’t see the ‘Rock God’ but the orphaned boy who just wants to be loved. When he needs her help, she will do what it takes to protect him.
But Piper is tired of making her decisions based on a man in her life. She is determined to have Landon on her own terms. They find their way back to each other but still have so much to overcome. I liked that it wasn’t easy but a journey that tore down their walls to rebuild a stronger foundation.
I love Ms. Leigh’s writing and how she covered sensitive issues with honesty and empathy. I especially love the ending. This is a beautiful story that is heartrending, complex, and very sexy. I am really falling for the men from Nothing But Trouble and the strong women who love them, and can’t wait for more!
Nothing But Trouble is such a great name for this band, and drummer Landon Cox is the poster child for being nothing but trouble! It seems each of the band members has a past they would rather forget in some ways, but those events have shaped them into the men they are today. Now it’s Landon’s turn in the spotlight.
Landon has been living the dream with money, fame and more ready-and-willing women than he could ever handle in a lifetime. But lately the same old routine has been feeling more and more tedious and lonely no matter what he does or how much he drinks. As a child of addicts who ended up in the foster care system, he knows the dangers but can’t seem to help himself. The guys in the band are the only family he has and he doesn’t want to let them down so he keeps pushing forward without having any real direction- until he is confronted with a blast from his past.
Piper and Landon met while she was in college and he and Nothing But Trouble were just getting started. They spent several months together and were virtually inseparable, but when Landon chose his career over her and disappeared without even a goodbye, he did lasting damage to her heart. Piper grew up as the product of a loveless marriage and she will not allow any man to walk all over her, but she seems to be a magnet for real prizes in the man department. Although Piper has worked for NBT’s manager for years, she has managed to avoid coming face to face with Landon until now. Despite her best intentions, she still feels his pull just as strongly as the day he walked away and it is going to be a battle to keep that wall around her heart if he turns his full attention to winning her back.
Piper and Landon’s story is one serious roller coaster of ups and downs with some emotional whiplash as they revel in reconnecting, discover all the secrets they have each been hiding for years, and weather misunderstandings and the potential pitfalls of temptation especially after a poor choice by Landon leaves him terrified that he will no longer be able to be a part of the band. Through it all there is no doubt that they love each other, but sometimes love isn’t enough if you don’t love yourself enough to make the difficult choices.
Rock Legend is another great story from Tara Leigh, and the tantalizing little glimpse of Dax’s story has me eagerly anticipating Rock Rebel!
